The only good thing I can say is they did the job. For about an hour and a half the men that came back the 2nd time sat in their truck with their shoes off and feet up while water shot straight up from the leak I had. When I came back later, the job was done, but left very messy. Nothing was picked up and there was trash all over the ground near the very unprofessional covered up mess of a hole they created. I had to finish filling in the hole and smoothing it out. I gave them 2 stars because they showed up and did the job, but seriously guys, get it together! read more

I called Maples plumbing when I had a leak in my main line from my meter to my house in a rural area. I was told to hire the leak detector to locate the leak before Maples could give me an estimate to fix it. After paying 550.00 to locate the leak exactly, I called back to set up the estimate only to be told they didn't want to do that job. This was after waiting from Thursday until the following Tuesday when I had to call back to follow up. If a business doesn't want to do particular jobs they should just say it from the start. Don't give me the run around and have me spend $550.00 and then not even bother to call me back! read more

Beware of these people. I don't leave negative reviews lightly, but this establishment apparently has a culture of charging their customers as much as possible as long as their customers don't know the difference. I called them seeking the installation cost only for a furnace I was going to buy online for $2000. Their work man came out to look at the job and then was going to send me an estimate... I knew that it would not take more than three or four hours labor to install a simple direct vent wall furnace on one wall. Their quote for this simple job? $2600!!!! This was after their $4600 quote for installing and providing the furnace themselves, so there was no confusion here about what was being provided for $2600... Simply a clear attempt to make what seems to me an outrageous amount of money on a several hour job. I feel angry to think of what they might do to people who don't know any thing about construction or fixing things. In the end I was able to find a licensed HVAC guy to do the job for $90 an hour... It took him two and half hours. I also paid an electrician $160 to install a needed socket...all told, I was able to do the installation for about for $450. $90 an hour seems like a fair wage, they were going to charge me something like $700 per hour!!!! I wonder how they would explain their pricing methods? Hard to feel good about this local business. read more

We've called Maples multiple times in the past few years, and they have been spectacular each and every time. Their techs are always knowledgeable, professional and courteous. Whether it's plumbing issues, running gas lines, installing a tankless water heater, or most recently repairing a floor heater, they're the best you can find in Humboldt County. Last week, our old floor heater gave out - it's our only source of heat (besides space heaters). Tucker diagnosed the issue and ordered the part, and as soon as the part arrived this week he came after hours to climb under our house and install the thermopile. It's been cold in Eureka this week, and thanks to Tucker and Maples, our house is warm and cozy again. I'm impressed every time with Maples, and my partner and I can't recommend them more. read more

We have use Maples several times and always been impressed with their professionalism and exemplary service and this morning is no different! We started using American Home Shield a few months ago, preparing for any appliance issues that could surface. With the earthquake last week, both our heating and our hot water went out. We used our warranty service and the plumber who came out said that our hot water heater was a goner and that we needed a new one. We were then given an exorbitant amount of over $700, not for a replacement but for installation, including permitting costs. We called Maples for a second opinion and they were able to re-light our pilot light within minutes AND did not even charge us for coming out. We are so incredibly thankful that they resolved our issue and saved us hundreds of dollars. We will never stray from them for our plumbing needs again! read more

Discovered leaking water heater at 3:30 in the afternoon. Plumber stopped by before 5:00 pm. Gave me a quote and said he would return at 8;00 the following morning. The new water heater was installed by 10:00 that day. Plumber was courteous and skilled. All plumbing and venting was replaced. Yes, I am a fan because: The phone number on their website works (got no answer at either phone number listed for West Coast Plumbing). They have a website--an informative one, too! You can schedule appointments thru the web or on the phone--which, like I said, they actually answer. The receptionist scheduled me for Monday (I called Friday afternoon). She called me Monday to ask if the plumber, who was running ahead of schedule, could come by early. Our leak turned out to be not a leak at all, and after the plumber fixed the problem, he chatted with my husband for a bit then left. No charge for the visit. I have used Mapleservice for a couple of jobs including completely replacing my heating system. They have charged $85/hr. I had them out again recently for a service that took a fraction over 1 hour and and was charged $323 !!! I called and spoke to Dan who said they charge $210/hr! Are they kidding? I told him I would not be using their service anymore and he did not say a word!!!! I guess they don't need the business. They say they should have given an estimate first which they did not. If I had been told it would be $210/hr I would never have used them. I'm hoping they reduce the bill based on the fact they never told me how much it would cost for a simple 1 hour job. read more

Called in at 2:45, receptionist said they would be here today between 3-5pm. Billy called right before 3PM, and showed about a minute later. (SAME DAY what?) We had neglected our clogged toilets for a while, but the problem was handled with expert professionalism. We got a straightforward quote for snaking our 1st clogged toilet, which only had that 1 problem. Other bathroom was clogged because of our main line. Our technician Billy had been to our property previously, and was sure about a 2nd clean out opening I was unaware of. In less than sunny conditions DUG OUT 4/5 inches of soil to find the clean out opening, and a 2nd one as well! Once that was found our 2nd bathroom toilet was able to be unclogged, as well as the main line. 1x main line snaking. That wouldn't have been able to been done if he hadn't poked around to find the cleanout. Got our quotes totaled and payed up, happy to have my bathrooms working. Was here for little over an hour and am so grateful for the excellent and courteous service. I'll be using Maple Service in the future, and will recommend to my family here in Eureka. read more

This was the most stellar service call because they were no nonsense and honest about what she really needed to fix it. My shower would not bring the water up and my husband could not fix it. We had used Maples before so we called. The plumber, Matt, came out and was very professional and efficient. He had to go back to the shop and MAKE a pipe fitting so that it would work and then he came back and attached it. He did all of this in less than an hour, left the place as clean as it was when he got here AND didn't charge me. On hold for quite a while. Called back and before he would listened to my questions, he started barreling me with questions about my personal information. I stopped him and told him I had questions I would like for him to answer first. I first needed to know if they could help me and if they service my area. Turns out they do not service Garberville at all. I was referred to them by Watson Well and I suggested that he tell them they do not service our area and he laughed at me and said he will. I gave Maples a ring, and the guy on the phone (I think his name was Steven) was absolutely and completely helpful and extremely kind. He seemed like he genuinely cared about what I had to say, which is a welcome change from the other places I called around here before I reached Maples. I called Maple Service yesterday afternoon, and the plumber was here at 1:15 PM today, 9/5/2014. We quickly found my water line leak, he provided a very fair estimate, and began the repair process immediately. He discovered that he needed additional equipment, called for it, and two more trucks showed up right away. All three of the plumbers were fantastic, and worked together as a team, completing the job in record time. AND the final charge was $100.00 LESS than the original estimate!!! I would highly recommend Maples for your in-home plumbing problems. My story: I was having a series of problems with my 50+ year old toilet over several weeks and decided it was time to give up trying to fix it myself and just get a new one installed. I called several plumbers but they were all fully booked so I called Maples one Monday knowing they had a larger crew than most. I reported that it wasn't an emergency so they scheduled a free service check for Wednesday morning. David arrived as scheduled and agreed a toilet replacement was the right move. He checked in with the office and arranged to be back around 9:00 a.m. two days later on Friday. Friday morning I received a call at 8:30 from Maple's Office informing me that their service vehicle was on the way. David arrived at around 9:00 . He did a very efficient job with the removal of the old toilet and installation of the new one, taking the old toilet with him for disposal. Fortunately there were no difficulties and the job was completed in around an hour. David was professional throughout, and no problems have arisen over the last 10 days since then. I'm a die hard. I have given Maples four chances. The Latest one being last week. Yes the phone service is curtious, Yes they came to my house in a few days. But they tried to over charge me and I feel take advantage of me because I'm a woman. The first plumber to the house was nice, and gave me an estimate of $184, but he didn't have the parts and so would have to reschedule.... The project is then rescheduled, and a new plumber comes out the following week. When he assesses the project it is $682.00 and I'm told that the water pressure to my house is dangerously high 120 psi, and that part of the $682.00 is a pressure release valve. I call to talk with the owner and am told my house is old (built in 1985) and that I really need this pressure release valve and that they've only been to my house twice to fix the same bathroom faucet since 2010. I call the Community water district who sends a man out to check my water pressure and the pressure is fine at 80psi. Not High, and no where in the town I live in gets 120 psi. I do not need a Pressure release valve I needed a few new washers and valve stems so that my Bathtube faucet would not leak. So for under $50.00 bucks my faucet is fixed. Funny that only one faucet furthest away from the city water... is the only faucet affected with the high pressure.... I will never use Maples Plumbing again.! read more

Gary from MapleService has been the plumber at my house for about 25years, He started when my parents owned the home and now he comes for me. I love that they send the same plumber so that he knows my house and systems. I have had two other plumbers from the company come in emergencies when Gary was on vacation and they were both great too. Gary comes every year and does an inspection of all my plumbing and when there is an issue I get a price, not an estimate of hours and possible cost, but a price... period. That way if I don't have the money saved up, I know exactly how much I do need to save. I know I can trust Gary to tell me the truth and do what is best for me. read more

I really had a great experience with Mapleservice! I got a new faucet for my kitchen and I needed it installed, I also had a non-working bathtub faucet that I needed fixed. Without hesitation he quoted" at minimum 250$ to remove a faucet and acted as if he was doing us a favor. I called my husband while he waited by his truck. This past January, My radiant floor heat was not working. Maple Service (Matt?) came over and looked through my heater, said he knew radiant floors and had one of his own. Said the pump may need replacement and he'd call with an estimate when he got back to work. 1 week later, I still hadn't heard back from Maple Service. Called them, they said, oh, yes! We have you down. We will call you back today. No phone call. Because it was colder in my house than outside, I called another place who came over right away and pointed out the pump issue, plus a large leak behind the water tank.
