We got half a dozen of nearly all the flavors and they did not disappoint. Ube, black sesame, cookies n cream, matcha, glazed, and dark chocolate (tasted more like milk chocolate though). Soft, chewy, warm, and the glaze was the perfect amount of sweetness for the Asian palate, which is to say: NOT TOO SWEET; the highest compliment, of course. They also have poke here, which I may try next time. And while you're waiting for the glaze dipper to do their magic, there is a fun 10-second buzzer game to try your luck for a freebie mochi!!! We did not win. 9.84 seconds was our best attempt. :( but our mochi cheered us up :)

While there wasn't an option to customize the poke bowl with additional toppings like some other poke places offer, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion of salmon. The fish was fresh, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the bowl. To finish off the meal, I had the Churro Mochi Donut, and it did not disappoint. It had a crispy exterior with a soft, chewy mochi center, coated with just the right amount of cinnamon sugar. It was the perfect sweet treat after the savory poke bowl. Overall, the meal was satisfying, the portions were generous, and I would happily order from MoDo Hawaii again whenever I'm craving fresh poke and a delicious dessert.

Personally for me, where Im from, we have a few local treasures like Marina Donuts and Bagels and Red's Donuts which I feel is much better, but KK is definitely not bad and worth a try. Multiple times when I've visited in the evening--typically between 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM--the store either appears closed (with signage turned off) or has already run out of most of the main donut selections. Most recently, on 4/13/2026 at around 8:30 PM, I arrived after checking online, which stated the store is open until 11:00 PM. When I got there, it looked like the store was closed, with no clear indication that it was still open. I do have pictures documenting this. I eventually walked in, and someone came from the back to assist me, but I felt rushed during the interaction, which added to the overall negative experience. I completely understand that inventory can run low toward the end of the day, but consistently running out of core items hours before closing--and creating the impression that the store is closed--causes confusion and frustration. It takes away from what should be a simple and enjoyable experience, especially when bringing family out for a treat. I kindly ask that this issue be looked into. Better communication of actual availability, consistent operating hours, and improved customer service would go a long way in improving the experience for customers in the community. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
