stopped in this morning for brunch since we're in the area visiting. There was about a 10 to 15 minute wait and then we were sat at a little table near the Christmas trees. Our waitress is very kind went over the specials and offered to get us some drinks which we all got coffee. My girlfriend ordered the Benedict and that it was really good. I split the breakfast tacos in the Monte Cristo with my other friend. The portion sizes were really large. Everything is really good and had nice flavor. Highly recommend for breakfast!!

What a great brunch find in the cute town of Bay Harbor! Little bit of a wait, but worth it. Tip - make reservations in advance. There is indoor and covered patio seating too. My bestie and I sat inside. Our wait without reservations wasn't too bad. 20 mins! We came on a Monday so maybe not as busy, but we were with the vacation crowd so waiting wasn't an issue. I ordered the chocolate cherry cold brew with cherry foam (special) to start my morning. My bestie ordered fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and a chai. Good selection of fresh juices - orange, grapefruit, and lemonade. Loved my cold brew! Or breakfast I ordered the wild truffle mushroom omelette. No substitutions allowed so if you want to add avocado make sure you say it's a side. I thought of it as an addition versus substitution. My bestie ordered the sausage apple omelette with sausage, honey crisp apples, and smoked Gouda cheese. Delicious! Omelettes come with hash browns or fresh greens and toast. We went with hash browns and an English muffin with fresh strawberry jam. Great vibe. Definitely coming back for breakfast when I'm in the area.

Cute restaurant! Food was very good and staff was very nice. The area is beautiful and nice to stop during the fall months. Could use a kids menu!

Cute little brunch spot in Bay Harbor! We had a 45 minute wait on a Saturday around 11am, but no biggy because there's plenty to do in the area while waiting. Once seated we were waited on quickly & food was brought out very fast. I got the Garden scramble & it was very filling & yummy! Will definitely be back when in the area.

I got the chorizo breakfast tacos (no tomatoes) and I was very satisfied! The chai latte was good at well! Would definitely recommend!

Egg scramble, get hash browns in the side.

Beautiful views, interior and great service. We each ordered the veggie scramble. Great idea, but terrible idea to include the hash browns mixed in. We asked the server if they could make the hash browns more well done when we ordered the food. It came out with mushy hash browns. So, we asked the server to remake it with more well done potatoes. They came out exactly the same. So, we were very disappointed as they could not get it right. Suggestion to the chef: make the hash browns separately or place on separate plate and serve the potatoes on a separate dish. Or simply place the well done potatoes as a top layer. We would definitely come back to try more of the meatless dishes. If you try the scramble dishes, get the hash browns on the side.

This is a Top-Notch Bruch restaurant!! The food was served hot and fresh. Wait staff were friendly and attentive!! Coffee was never empty!! The orange juice was delicious!! The restaurant was an inviting and pleasant experience. Would highly recommend. A great place to meet friends, family or bring a date for a meal!!

If I could give a higher rating than 5 stars, Maple + Batter would get them! The service was fantastic. The menu had so many unique items and traditional fare as well. We were there for breakfast. I had the breakfast soft shell tacos which was excellent. My friend had the eggs Benedict and said it was the best one he had ever had. The food was outstanding at a very reasonable price. I will be back on each time I make.

Maple + Batter was so good!! Very cute atmosphere inside Our estimated wait time was accurate. We spent our 30 min wait walking around the adorable Bay Harbor town Our food was really good I got the potato pancakes and lox and it was excellent The food did take a little bit long to come out, that would be my only small complaint. Otherwise, everything was fantastic!

We ate at Maple and Batter twice while visiting the area. The food was all very good and the service was fine. I did not care for the flapjacks as much as I hoped that I would. They were a little mushy in the middle. The table next to us had the candied bacon the first time we were there and it looked more well done like I would like so we ordered it the second time and it was rather flimsy and undercooked in my opinion.

The service is incredibly helpful, professional & friendly! The atmosphere is incredible, & dining in the wine cellar is a must!! There are no wrong choices here, everything is seriously phenomenal! The steak tartare is a great starter to share with the table, the amount of crab in the crab cakes is fantastic, and serving the caesar in a parmesan tuile makes it that much more fun to eat! The boar shank I had made for the perfect winter meal, it is fall off the bone tender & the sweet potato gnocchi pairs so well with it! It was a bit chilly out , so We started with the mushroom bisque special. It was so good I want the recipe and would literally put this on top of everything I cook at home!!! Misty our waitress suggested the burger and it was as good as advertised! My husband ordered it but I beefed for at least 2 more bites after tasting bit ! So good. I wanted the crispy chicken sandwich which apparently Is also popular, but needs some greens. I ended up ordering the kiwi strawberry salad ( kale ) and she allowed me to add crispy chicken on top. Best of both worlds! I will say the crispy chicken is VERY spicy FYI . Ambiance is cute. They have indoor & outdoor seating. Owe sat indoors and it was fun to watch the cooks at work. We would definitely make it a priority if ever visiting this area again !

There are many better places in town for the same or less money. Pass. I see the Owner, who was not on site, has chosen to respond in a defensive and dishonest manner ( he's done this with other reviewers). In FACT my entree (steak au poirve at $52.00 for a bad cut of meat and fries) was inedible. I couldn't cut into it and couldn't eat it. Because I hope to *eat dinner * last night, I ordered the lobster roll , which I ate. When the bill was delivered, we we charged for my husband's entree, my lobster roll, and my inedible steak. My husband asked the waitress to remove the charge for the inedible steak. She said she could not do so without speaking to her manager, who wasn't working. She eventually returned, with the inedible steak charge removed, and the lobster roll charges remaining. My husband paid the bill together with a generous tip for the waitress. She didn't incur a financial penalty. We have the receipts. For a restaurant owner to lie and claim we'd cheated them into giving us free food is baffling. To call us "uneducated " and suggest we "cook for ourselves " because we expected food to be edible is baffling. Needless to say, nobody owes Mark a positive review for bad food. Lying about the bill is no way to run a business either. Mark can rest easily knowing we (and our friends ) will never darken his door at the Bistro again, nor his other door at his Harbor Springs restaurant. As I said, there are other fine restaurants here that produce excellent food while respecting their patrons.

My friend ordered the kabob dinner and said it was good...but over $20 for some veggies is crazy. My gyro and truffle fries....honestly I should have just sent them back. This is one of the most disappointing meals I've had recently. They put a tomato paste on it that I almost requested without, but trusted it would be interesting. It literally tasted like cheap canned tomato paste. Gross and certainly doesn't blend well on a gyro. The lamb meat itself had a decent taste, but the way it is served makes it difficult to eat in a pita. Gyros are typically chopped or shaved lamb which makes it easier to eat and helps ensure you're getting more lamb per bite. Served in these strips, it was just falling apart and not blending with the feta. The fries...terrible. Just terrible. $6 to sub truffle fries which seems like too much but I hadn't had them in a long time so had to go for it. Listed in subs it simply says truffle fries, so I didn't know they were going to be covered in liquid cheese. They ARE listed in appetizers with the full description but I didn't look there until after bc I didn't order an appetizer. The cheese was awful, completely overwhelmed the TINY bit of truffle taste, and SO salty! Take a look at the picture and decide for yourself if the gyro and fries is worth $23. I eat a lot of gyros, and this being the most expensive one I've had is the worst. Heads up that they charge a service fee. Doesn't bother me as I always tip at least 20% but no one pointed that out and I'm not really sure what it's for. Does that go into the servers pocket or? Won't be going back to find out.

Well I couldn't get a reservation in the fall so my girlfriend and I tried again while taking a ski trip to Boyne Mountain . Yes, The location and ambiance is fabulous . We were graciously greeted and sat at table # 1 right by the windows looking out to the frozen lake truly a great table. Our waitress Janice a local greeted us and was very nice. Janice did a great job going through the menu which I will added the prices were very fare . The wine and cocktail list were also impressive with a wide offering in price and choice. We decided on a Malbec to start. Then they brought out a the welcoming taste of salmon pate on a cucumber which we both found to be very tasty . After reviewing the menu we chose to bypass an appetizer for fear of just getting too much food and not finishing our dinner . After I told my girlfriend how good whitefish is in Michigan we both ordered that instead of the salmon or short ribs that also looked enticing. . Before our entree was served we had the warm bread and garlic butter that was terrific and tempting to eat the whole basket . Our dinners were served very quickly even though the restaurant was sold out . As we took the first bites of the white fish I was extremely disappointed . The breading had absolutely zero seasoning or flavor . The fish was flaky and cooked perfectly but the breading was completely flavorless taking away from the fish. Neither of us finished the dish and my girlfriend tried adding salt just to get some flavor but it didn't make it any better . I was going to order dessert but we were so disappointed after our dinner we chose to bypass dessert . . I did order a coffee since they didn't have cappuccino. I will say the coffee was very good , but what good restaurant doesn't have a cappuccino machine . As a side note the bathroom very nicely decorated in old wine box shingles on the wall and was very clean . I gave 3 stars simply because the Walloon Inn has been around so long and highly acclaimed as one of the better restaurants in the area. This was very disappointing . I may come back with my business partner and hope my experience will be better . Until next time .
