Was up north for our semi annual long weekend getaway and wanted to try a new place for breakfast. Bayside is located right by the hotel we love to stay at so this seemed like a no brainer. Sadly Bayside left so much to be desired. Service was quick and prompt but that was really about it. The food had little to no flavor and was average at best. I got your standard egg breakfast with ham and potatoes. The ham was more in line of deli ham and the potatoes were all pepper. Just meh. There are so many other better local options that we for sure won't be coming back to place. read more

I've always thought the Breakfast Club in West City has the best breakfast in the area. As suburbs go, you can't beat it. The chocolate shop has some incredible treats. Everything is fresh and packed to order. I've had chocolate all over Europe but this chocolate shop is by far my favorite. Will definitely come back! read more

My southern raised husband said "I don't know what is in these but they are better than any biscuits and gravy that I was raised on" My omelette was delicious, wonderful very fresh ! Great tasting bacon and cheese. Hash browns done just right. Coffee was good ! And they had gluten free toast I appreciated that because it isn't offered everywhere. Very kind staff. Rhis is a very comfortable place to eat breakfast! I have eaten here with my wife on several occasions but it was just little ol' me two days ago... it was closer to noon when I got there but I ordered one pancake, two eggs over easy and a double order of crispy bacon (6pieces) The pancake completely covered the plate! The eggs were just right so after I buttered the pancake and salt & peppered everything... then I sliced down through those eggs as I cut the pancake into bite size pieces (that were soaked in the egg yolks ) ... unfortunately they do not have the option for real maple syrup, but I do carry a small bottle in ALL my vehicles for just such an occasion... I asked the waitress if it would be OK for me to fetch my bottle from the car and with no hesitation whatsoever she said heck yes! Wow! If you are in the Petoskey/Charlevoix area, visiting Bayside Restaurant is a MUST. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast - both the breakfast burrito (pictured) and an omelette. We would come back and stay in this area overnight just for the food. I cannot emphasize how friendly and accommodating the staff is. This place is hidden in a strip mall. Went to Maple & Batter (near by breakfast place) a few days before and this place is soooo much better! Their biscuits & homemade gravy were amazing. Had a positive experience the first time going in there, but the second time was a completely different story. Me and one other person just got lunch. A burger, ( which did not come with fries), and a chicken wrap for almost $40!!!!!! :( The restaurant wasn't very full at all, but our food took over 30 minutes and when it finally came out the food was tasteless and seemed of low quality. neither of us ended up eating of what we had gotten and had to find another lunch. There are so many great places to eat in the Petoskey area, but we never thought about trying Bayside because we are shallow jerks who didn't think a restaurant in a little strip mall/plaza was worth a try. The jerk vibes continued when we walked in and saw photos of the food featured prominently on the walls. But this place is a total sleeper. Excellent food and service. I don't generally care about portion size - I'd rather have a small portion of something delicious than a mound of meh but the hearty plates are a bonus when the food is this good. If you have never had prime rib hash, this is the place to go for your unforgettable first time. The au jus accompanies it, along w a delectable hollandaise on top of perfect poached eggs (how I ordered them). Add toast of your choice if you want more ballast to the meal. Bathroom was clean and pretty! My mate ordered the bayside breakfast: Hash browns were crisp, bacon was the best, and eggs cooked perfectly to his order.
