The food was so good it made my mouth water just to look at it. The monkey business was my favorite the walnuts add a really good texture! I loved the theme it was so cozy inside. Micheal was very nice. I would love to come again!!!!!

After browsing the online menu for Small Batch at the Cupola, I immediately added it to my list of spots to try in Harbor Springs. There are so many unique and drool-worthy dishes to choose from, we just knew had to get in there! My husband and I stopped in for brunch on a recent getaway to The Highlands, already knowing what we wanted to order. I proudly devoured the massive "This Is How We Roll" sandwich-- a symphony of bacon, eggs, and cheese on a frosted cinnamon roll. Simple, yet perfectly balanced with flavorful notes of salty & sweet! I'm already craving another! Hubbs ordered the "Rise & Shine," which featured herbed eggs, melted cheddar, caramelized onions, and sriracha aioli on a grilled brioche bun. Both came with savory breakfast potatoes and both of us cleaned our plates, leaving with full, happy bellies! The restaurant is small, quaint and filled with interesting artwork, furniture, and collectibles found by the owner while on her many travels over the years. Super cool and cozy! Our server was sweet, personable, and attentive-- making sure we had everything we needed during our meal. She suggested we visit their bakery shop next door, which was full of cookies, pastries, local goods, and more. After getting into our festive St. Patty's Day cupcakes later that evening, we contemplated going back for more! They were the *literal* icing on top of our visit to Small Batch!! If you find yourself in or around the Harbor Springs/Petoskey area, make sure to stop in for breakfast or lunch! You won't be sorry (and you'll get some amazing Instagram photos)!

This is our second time here, while traveling UpNorth Michigan.. A hidden gem. The atmosphere is like being in Grandma's house. Staff is very friendly & knowledgeable. The coffee was good, strong and fresh i had the Dutch Dutch Baby. With a side of bacon, super tasty. It came out piping hot. Nice presentation. My hubby had the egg sandwich on a brioche bun. It was huge and delicious. The home fries were seasoned perfectly.

Quaint and cozy inside. Creative, just like they're cuisine.

We love coming here every year. Pro tip: come early, this is a small venue and it fills up quickly. They had indoor/ outdoor seating, but we opted to wait an hour for the indoor seating. Cute decor and they had fun decorations for Halloween. The menu is inventive with its cuisine. The Piggy Bank captivated me with its beer cheese hollandaise sauce and the roasted colorful carrots with a spiced fruit that went quite well with the pork. Though expensive, the portions we ordered were large. The flavors were delicious, however one of my eggs was a bit overdone as well as my pork. However, I'd rather have it overdone than underdone especially when it comes to pork. My husband pointed out that many of the dishes we ordered, the OMG hash and Piggy Bank, were almost like a dinner entree with eggs. I think if we knew about the portion size we might've sprung for the $5 split plate charge. One of our kids had toast, and the other had a side of bacon, scrambled eggs and toast (I don't think there is a children's menu). It was quite busy so no time for chit chat with the waitron. I was curious about the secret menu, but didn't have an opportune moment to learn more. Service was spotty, it seemed like they were understaffed. All in all, our two entrees, 2 sides of toast and side of egg, bacon, 2 coffees, and one hot chocolate came to $120 with tip. Everyone left full and happy, and we didn't need to eat again until dinner.

The food pictures say it all so amazing, every detail was perfect. The restaurant is so quaint and cozy, the service was impeccable and the food literally blew me away every plate I saw was more interesting than the next. Will definitely be a place we visit every time we are in Harbor

Food was excellent! Very unique menu but great options. Small area for seating so there might be short waits but worth it.

One of the best places in the area. Everything I've had so far has been delicious. Unfortunately I don't get in nearly enough.

The only drawback was the table size. It felt a bit tight for five people once the drinks and plates started filling the space. Aside from that, the restaurant was clean, including the bathrooms, which is always appreciated. Our server was prompt and attentive. She quickly took our drink orders and returned shortly after with them, then took our food order without delay. The kitchen moved efficiently, and our meals arrived fairly quickly. Dinner came with one basket of bread and butter, with additional baskets available for an extra charge. We also ordered three desserts, which were decent and a nice way to end the meal. As for the food, the lamb stood out and was very good. The steaks were solid and well prepared. The chicken Alfredo was a bit too heavy on the cheese, making the sauce thicker than expected. The mushroom ravioli with beef delivered strong mushroom flavor, definitely generous on that front. For five people, including three desserts, our total bill came to $246. Overall, it was a good experience with attentive service and mostly enjoyable food.

The service was amazing and the restaurant was beautiful in the snowy night and warmed by their fireplace. The serving sizes were very generous; most of us brought our leftovers home. It was like having two dinners for the price of one.

After numerous friends telling me " You have to eat at Walloon Inn you would love it, the food is…read moregreat and of course the view across the lake is spectacular ". Well I couldn't get a reservation in the fall so my girlfriend and I tried again while taking a ski trip to Boyne Mountain . Yes, The location and ambiance is fabulous . We were graciously greeted and sat at table # 1 right by the windows looking out to the frozen lake truly a great table. Our waitress Janice a local greeted us and was very nice. Janice did a great job going through the menu which I will added the prices were very fare . The wine and cocktail list were also impressive with a wide offering in price and choice. We decided on a Malbec to start. Then they brought out a the welcoming taste of salmon pate on a cucumber which we both found to be very tasty . After reviewing the menu we chose to bypass an appetizer for fear of just getting too much food and not finishing our dinner . After I told my girlfriend how good whitefish is in Michigan we both ordered that instead of the salmon or short ribs that also looked enticing. . Before our entree was served we had the warm bread and garlic butter that was terrific and tempting to eat the whole basket . Our dinners were served very quickly even though the restaurant was sold out . As we took the first bites of the white fish I was extremely disappointed . The breading had absolutely zero seasoning or flavor . The fish was flaky and cooked perfectly but the breading was completely flavorless taking away from the fish. Neither of us finished the dish and my girlfriend tried adding salt just to get some flavor but it didn't make it any better . I was going to order dessert but we were so disappointed after our dinner we chose to bypass dessert . . I did order a coffee since they didn't have cappuccino. I will say the coffee was very good , but what good restaurant doesn't have a cappuccino machine . As a side note the bathroom very nicely decorated in old wine box shingles on the wall and was very clean . I gave 3 stars simply because the Walloon Inn has been around so long and highly acclaimed as one of the better restaurants in the area. This was very disappointing . I may come back with my business partner and hope my experience will be better . Until next time .

(If you're obsessed with Hemingway, this station is where he & his family would catch the train to Petoskey on their way to Walloon.) Despite the heavy wood and library-like interior, the space is light and bright in the evening before the sun goes down. Summerers abound here -- everyone who comes in knows just about everyone else. The food is certainly some of the best in the area. The chef (formerly the Crow's Nest chef/owner) makes the best perch in northern Michigan. Crab cakes could have used slightly less breading and my martini could have used a little more vermouth. Overall, the menu is more creative than usual in this part of the world -- there's ceviche and grilled artichokes and oysters and pheasant but no whitefish, for example, which is a total relief. Every restaurant in town serves the same (delicious, but boring) planked whitefish. The service is warm and cheerful and attentive. This is a well-trained, seasoned staff who know about the food they're serving and do everything possible to make you happy. Thanks, staff!
