    Bourbon Deviled Eggs

Our family lives in The Grand, so made sense to go and try the restaurant. I am not sure we are going to return, but am willing to give them another try to sample different dishes and or try the breakfast. The spot was pretty filled with customers. We went on a Sunday for dinner. The good stuff - Had the Strawberry Limoncello and it was delish! The Bourbon Deviled Eggs, also very good, would order those again!! Our entrees fell short, which is a bummer. Started with Caesar Salad - just typical but OK, but the crouton toast came out burnt, so we ask for another which also came back out burnt, so we just left it on the plate. Shrimp Scampi - the pasta was overdone on both of us and the plate was just greasy.. The other party ordered the Grilled Salmon, which they said was just OK. The server was new and it was her first day, so no problem. Overall, might go back to try their Breakfast. The place is really nice and beautiful inside, so that is a positive!

It's the dead of Summer but we decided to eat outside because there's a mist-system and the fountain was nice to hear. That being said, it took more than five minutes for anyone to come over and bring some waters; it's hot and the place wasn't busy. However once our server came by we put our order in and received drinks expeditiously. We just ordered two cocktails and two salads and the total was over $60 before adding any tip. Was it good? Yes. Was it worth it? Probably not. Especially since I was told it was a very large salad (it's average). But remember, you're also paying for the "ambiance". They do have a Happy Hour menu for some more reasonably priced options. It's a 50/50 chance that I'd give it another shot, try something different.

Saturday, 3/28/2026 - we ate at Maple & Rye. Address is 15955 W Clearview Blvd, Surprise, AZ 85374. Our first time here. Place was very nice, looked clean, staffs were nice, water tasted good, foods good, lots of parking. I liked this place. Golf area view was very pretty.

Got my Bananas Foster French Toast, it is delicious(I did ask for no nuts and there was a couple of nuts which I removed). So excited! Also got the French Dip, very flavorful, tender and fries were crisp to perfection. Great job chef! Love the outdoor seating, the golf course view with fountain and the fact I can bring my dogs. Hostess and servers were all very friendly, no wait at 10:15 Wednesday morning.

Tried this place on a whim and so glad I did. It's a nice classic restaurant. Classy, but relaxed. Very open and spacious. I love the open kitchen in the bar area. The dinning side (where we sat) overlooks the golf course and it's so pretty! Minimalist vibes give it an upscale feel. The food, like the vibe, is simple and elegant. The portions are smaller than I'm used from restaurants. I think they are maybe catering to the older clientele as my parents (in their 70s) said the portions were perfect. Service was friendly and helpful, but we could have been check on a bit more often. Two of us finished our waters and were never offended more.

We're visiting Surprise, AZ, for the month and have experienced our fair share of chain restaurants, so finding Maple & Rye was refreshing. We've eaten here a few times (all have been pleasant experiences) and recently tried their breakfast and lunch menus. The Rueben was delicious -- loaded with meat and delish sauce and bread choice on point. My husband ordered the country fried steak & eggs and it was also really good (and for someone who this isn't their go-to dish, it surprised me!). The biscuit was light and fluffy, well seasoned gravy and crispy potatoes. Our server was attentive and their patio is a great place to watch golfers.

Very good. Service and food was great. Liquor and wine seems to be limited but suffice. Not bad for just opening.

The country theme was right up my alley and made the whole experience even better! The barista Madeline was the sweetest! She took the time to recommend drinks based on what we liked and completely nailed it -- which isn't easy because my husband and I like totally opposite styles of coffee. I'm more of a coffee-forward person, while he loves the sweeter drinks. Somehow she found the perfect choices for both of us! We loved it so much we came back the very next morning to try something new. Madeline was there again along with two other baristas, and everyone was just as friendly and welcoming. Our second round of recommendations was another win and matched exactly what we were looking for! And it wasn't just the coffee -- we even got our son a strawberry shake and a breakfast wrap, and both were delicious! This place truly had something for all of us. That's how good it was -- we ended up coming back a THIRD time in two days to grab our last coffee fix before heading home. Great coffee, delicious food, amazing atmosphere, and even better people. We'll definitely be back anytime we're in town!

They also have a lot of pre-packaged treats. This place is definitely meant for folks who love their drinks on the sweeter side. I had friends who did not enjoy their drinks because they were too sweet but it was perfect for me. Staff was extremely friendly and it was very heart-warming to see how they knew their regulars and their orders so well. The love potion (strawberry white mocha) was my favorite. They have seating indoors and outdoors.

But what really makes this place special is their mission. They hire individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively invest in the community -- from vendor markets to hosting events like their upcoming 5K. You can feel that purpose woven into everything they do. We tried one of their themed drink flights (the Sweet Heart menu was adorable -- Love Potion, Love Struck, To The Moon & Back... so cute). The presentation in the little mason jars was fun and picture-worthy. Flavor-wise, they leaned sweeter than my personal preference, but still enjoyable and perfect if you love flavored lattes. They offer plenty of milk options, including non-dairy, which I appreciate. Bakery - vegan and gluten-free options clearly labeled. I grabbed the lemon scone (vegan + GF). It was good! I'm personally more of a vegan-but-not-gluten-free girl, so texture-wise it's not something I'd specifically crave again -- but I absolutely appreciate that they create inclusive options. My friend had the cinnamon roll and was happy. They also have a small retail section with mugs, shirts, local honey, and little gift items, which adds to the community feel. Overall, this isn't a hyper-trendy, third-wave coffee aesthetic spot -- it's something better. It's purpose-driven, inclusive, and clearly loved by the neighborhood. Not a five-star flavor experience for me personally, but an easy four stars for what they stand for and the impact they're making.
