This was our second visit. The first, my husbands breakfast was good, 2 over easy eggs done perfectly, hash browns great, one slice of toast, no butter. My english muffin arrive stone cold, no butter and without the 2 eggs that I was told came with. Even our server was confused. Last night we had the fish and chips, won't be doing that again.......far toooooooo much batter on the small amount of fish. Two of my 3 fish pieces were over battered. On a positive note, the chips were good. Who eats that much batter! The kitchen staff need to eat some of their food. I know this is early, but someone needs to address these issues. Also, you should install a window blind on the back door, two tables are in full sun light from 5:30 to 6:30 and unuseable seating.. Time will tell if we go back. S and G read more

Enjoyed a delicious breakfast this morning overlooking the golf course. The food was prepared and presented beautifully. The wait staff could not have been more helpful. In all, a nice experience. My wife and I had lunch today, first time at Maple and Rye. I'll start by saying I appreciate the ability to make a reservation as we wanted to sit on the patio. Second, food was good. Now here are the problems. Service was very slow, took over an hour from the time we sat down to get two salads. And that's it, just two salads. Nice waitress, just too many tables I guess. Second, how can anyone screw up two salads? My wife ordered the Cobb salad, dressing on the side. I ordered the Cobb salad, no onions and no blue cheese. When our salads came to the table, my wife's salad was missing the hard boiled egg, the avocado, and the blue cheese. Wow. My salad was missing the bacon. How's this possible? We advised the waitress and eventually we got the other ingredients to add ourselves and the waitress stated she advised her manager and her manager was now aware of this. Really, that's it? Manager can't walk over and apologize? Cant comp part of a meal, or beverage for such poor service? Extremely disappointed with this restaurant and service. read more

Tried hard to like this place, but it was hit and miss. Went in with a gift card for lunch and started with my favorite drink that has always been delicious. Mango chili margaritas are usually perfect with brunch. I had to take the avocados off the top of my omelette because of the black overripe (maybe) pieces. I didn't want to speak up but my sister couldn't help herself. After letting the waitress know she didn't do anything. When I gave her my gift card and a credit card she loudly announced that the gift card wasn't any good. Before I could ask her to try again she used the credit card. After showing her my receipt that went with the gift card she tried again and it worked. When leaving I asked to speak with a manager, she listened and said "now that you still have the gift card you can just come back" and laughed. She also told me I should have asked for new avocado....when you spend that much money you expect better. Hopefully you get better service and food when you go. read more

I got breakfast biscuits and gravy were so delicious I couldn't stop eating it the hash browns were crunchy and all the way done not cold and raw like some other places the service was great they were very nice and kept checking on us to make sure our drinks and everything was filled and it was so beautiful in the restaurant clean with a wonderful view very relaxing atmosphere I can't wait to try lunch definitely going back. read more

Just finished a delicious breakfast of eggs Benedict and my hubby had a sausage and cheese omelette. Hash browns had the perfect crunch. Washed it down with a spicy and delicious Bloody Mary while we enjoyed views of the golf course and friendly staff. We will definitely return. read more

Just had one of the most unimpressive meals and appetizers ever. The sad thing is the owners of the place had to approved the quality of food and sauces served. The filet mignon was average..The fish was promoted as seasonal fish and chips. Sub par.The crab cakes were ice cold and made with fillers. All the sauces need to go back to the drawing board watery. Just plain bad.It was my husband's birthday. So he ordered Bananas Foster it was served in a glass with watery sauce.In defense of the place they have only been open for two months.The chef need to go back to culinary school to figure it all out. Not at all what I expected quality wise.I can cook and bake and I have extremely high standards and expectations. I wouldn't recommend this place now till the get there act together. read more

We had a great experience! We came in as a family and asked to be moved a few times because my mother really wanted to sit outside and the staff was so kind and accommodating. Went to the recently opened Maple & Rye restaurant in The Grand in Surprise. No reservations were available, so we tried our luck and simply walked in. On a Saturday over the lunch hour it wasn't too bad. Had to wait about a half hour for a table for two on their patio. Service was a little slow but not unexpected. My wife ordered the cranberry salad with added chicken and feta cheese instead of goat cheese. She was very pleased with her choice only wishing the chicken breast pieces were cooked to order instead of precooked and cold. I chose the French dip sandwich and added onion rings as my side, an excellent choice. The ambience was a little noisy on a very windy Saturday at noon. Not their fault. The restaurant was nicely decorated with some hold over features from its predecessor, The Falls. All in all, a nice luncheon experience. We're looking forward to trying Maple & Rye for a future breakfast and dinner. read more

1st time here. Reuben sandwich had hardly any sauerkraut, asked for some it came and tasted like watered down cabbage. Fruit cup had unedible fruit that was Not in season. Quality control seems to be lacking, do they Not try their own food from time to time? This is a ritzy over priced place, with gross sounding dishes. Can't even obtain a side salad! Our tame dogs were welcome on the patio, who were loved by other customers. Our server, Melissa, was great! She did not rush us, nor others and even credited another table who received an appetizer that was "too hot" for her. The food was wonderful! Tried it twice First went for Breakfast, got there when it opened. Was seated right away. Ordered right away.Food didn't come and didn't;t come. The server kept telling us the food would be right out. then she came out later and told us the food was up , but they needed to remake the eggs. Waited to what seemed a long time. (Was there at least 45 minutes now). Our food came out was cold. the person i was with asked if they could just nuke his food to warm it up. I started eating. After another ten minutes or so we stopped the waitress and asked what the delay was? She said they were remaking the meal. Waited another 15 minutes and still hadn't received the meal. we had to leave for a tee time and told them to cancel the meal. Paid for one meal and left. Was disappointed with food. I had the two eggs, one piece of toast and hashbrowns. For $16 I received two small eggs, Two strips of bacon, One slice of toast and a nice portion of hashbrowns. Seems pricey to me. Won't be doing breakfast there at these prices. A cinnamon roll $8 Seems crazy to me. Went back for dinner, service was good. I ordered the country fired steak. A small portion of steak. A reasonable portion of garlic mashed potato's and Squash for vegetables. The steak was good but very small. with a small splas of gravy. seemed strange to pair garlic mashed potatoes with the country fried steak. i would recommend mashed potato's and gravy. The squash was ok but I would not order this meal again. There were a cou[le of glitch's which i expected with a new restaurant. i thought with the experience of Westside Concepts has I expected more. My ordered a pasta shrimp dish. It was supposed to be to be a butter,lemon sauce. She explained to the server there was no sauce. He came back c and said you cant see it but there is sauce. My wife explainned she understood the sauce and there wasn't any on the pasta. She asked that they bring, some butter, lemon and hot water. They did bring it and she mixed up and put t on the pasta. The atmosphere is lovely especially on the patio. Service was great, prompt and attentive. Food was just ok. Cobb salad had tiny little bacon, one egg, half an avocado and little bit of blue cheese plus very dry and tough chicken. Usually cob salad has few more ingredients and more of them. read more

Visit for breakfast: Seated quickly. The restaurant is clean and spacious. It was early in the morning with few diners. The breakfast was conservatively "skimpy" with a serving of hash brown potatoes that I could easily cover on my plate with my cell phone. The Eggs Benedict were served on English muffins that were, sadly, not toasted. Hollandaise sauce was very good. A second cup of coffee is not automatic as we waited for the server to arrive and then left to return with the coffee pot. It just seems to me that a restaurant that has had such a checkered construction history could deliver a breakfast that would impress everyone. The decision for the new owners is simple: make the restaurant the restaurant of choice for the residents of Surprise or become just another mediocre dining experience. This restaurant sits in the middle of The Grand retirement community with approximately 18,000 residents. This restaurant should have been a "WOW" restaurant, but it turned out a major disappointment......just another restaurant that fails to impress. And the lukewarm reviews from residents continue. read more

Service was very slow at 4:30. Four of us ordered the Country Fried Steak. The steak was hard to chew, very small steak, too lite on the gravy, and did not come with mushrooms as told, just squash. Our dinner salad came after our dinner without the salad dressing. By the time the dressing showed up we were almost finished with dinner. Disappointed! We were not asked how our meal was and didn't ask for the manager. Our friends did when there clam chowder came out lukewarm, twice. The manager then brought out the chowder with a thermometer in the bowl. Not sure we will go back for dinner. read more

I had eaten here before with a group of 10 or so. They had no record of our reservation but got us seated fairly quickly. Food was good if I remember correctly. Took hubby there on Memorial Day. What a difference. He always orders a hamburger & fries. I decided on Bolongnaise. Hamburger came with onion rings, not fries. I stated that to the runner and he was willing to make it right but hubby doesn't like to make a "fuss". My dish was huge in quantity but it stops there. The sauce was sadly lacking in quantity and seasoning. I had to add salt to get some taste. The bread was grilled dry. I've never had that. I would have said something but we were never checked on. At the end of the meal and we got out check we had been billed for onion rings we had never asked for and got by mistake. By asking about the dry bread, I was told I could have said something and they would have fixed it any way I desired. Well great---if someone had checked on our table I would have. Then our server hovered while I filled in the tip. Choices were given me automatically but I wanted to go lower for a custom tip but felt very uncomfortable doing that with her looking on. We had the most amazing brunch at Maple & Rye! Everything was so delicious from the Benedict to the Reuben and Bacon Wrapped Dates...and the Banana Fosters French Toast! The atmosphere was airy and bright with a beautiful deck overlooking the golf course and the service was on point. We'll definitely be visiting again. read more

Been here a few times but this past time was a disappointment only because of the food. I ordered avocado toast and there was very little avocado which was spread thinly on the toast. The side was a handful of greens undressed therefore dry with a few pickled onions. The avocado was topped with an overcooked poached egg. The service was friendly. I should have sent the meal back to the kitchen to be prepared properly but I did not. read more

Finally had a chance to try this restaurant for breakfast, the restaurant is very nice with a great view. I ordered the eggs benedict with thick cut ham and crispy hash browns. I received eggs benedict with thin cut ham, a hard boiled egg on top of each English muffin and barely cooked hash browns. The flavor wasn't bad but very disappointing. My wife ordered the buttermilk pancakes, scrambled eggs & bacon. She received pancakes that were a cross between a crepe and a pancake. They were very thin and the bottom was very hard so the pancake peeled away from the bottom of the pancake when she tried to cut them with her fork. The eggs and bacon were alright. Service was fine and they did not charge for the pancakes. On a scale of one to ten, I give them a 4.5. read more

We were a party of 4 Monday April 1. Drinks are very expensive, mac n cheese for $9.99 was "runny" and tastes like it came out of a box and a very small portion. Pasta dish was undercooked and the list goes on. Way to bright inside with no view of the pond or golf course. Disappointed since their other restaurants are much better.
