Food: This is the first time I've been disappointed with the food. I had the Cranberry and Chèvre Salad with shrimp. I absolutely did not like it. It had 4 shrimp on it and it was supposed to have "candied walnuts." Sorry, those were not candied. Then it had a dollop of goat cheese on it which apparently is chèvre. Yuck. Service: Waitress seemed a bit distracted brought ice tea when Diet Coke was requested but it appeared she was the only waitress. She corrected that right away. Appeared there might have been two managers there. They could maybe have pitched in? Then, we were 10 minutes late for our 1pm reservation. We were dealing with a wheelchair. You would have thought we committed a crime the way the manager acted. The restaurant was half empty. Ambience: as usual other than a bit noisy, it was perfect. I'll go back. I can get beyond the disgusting salad but think they better step their customer service up a bit. read more

Very disappointed. We are at the bOrdered eggs Benedict and after ordering fried eggs over medium, they came out soft poached. After a reorder that took forever, the extra ham ordered was not on the order. They put a small skimpy piece of deli ham on the Benedicts. Waitress didn't come back to check how reorder was. We truly wanted this place to be a great new stop in our dining rotation, really...we did. But after eating here (I simply can't call it "dining") our level of disappointment is off the charts. House made pasta was rubbery and crispy on the edges, and the sauces were barely there, not to mention completely flavorless. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates for an appetizer and the look of them alone was nearly enough to send us running; then we actually ate one. (Oh, the horror!) After all the waiting for this place to open, and one that was supposed to elevate our experience in The Grand, I can only say that I miss the Coco's that used to be in this location. Having eaten here last night, I felt the need to address the food. The service was excellent, but the food was awful. Since the last time I've eaten here, the selection seems to have become smaller. I made the mistake of ordering the smash burger after returning a totally overcooked roast beef sandwich. They have good onion rings, but have you ever had them served without a dipping sauce? Why did I order the awful smashburger? I have no explanation but stupidity. I would like to say that I'd eat there again because it's close to me, but I will just have to drive further. I don't want a smashburger, and I will never eat at Maple & Rye again. read more

Let me start to say that our waitress was nice and gave us good service. The restaurant is well located on the golf course and it is in our home community so we were really looking forward to having a good experience. Unfortunately we are only giving it a 1 star. First when my husband ordered a vodka gibson, we were informed that they do not have cocktail onions. How hard is it to stock cocktail onions?! When our entrees came (Shrimp Scampi and Bolognese) both had dry toast on the side but nowhere was there any butter for that toast. The plates were filled with noodles, lots of noodles and nowhere was there any parmesan cheese. We asked the manager for some soup spoons and she very quickly and I think rudely told us that they only have regular spoons which she eventually brought for us. I think we interrupted her helping someone else. We were not impressed and are truly disappointed in this restaurant especially since as I said before it is located in our home community of the Grand. read more

The deviled eggs were our absolute favorite literally so so good! I got the French dip and seasoning and aju just so good. I will say the meat was a bit tough so a bit of chewing involved. My boyfriend got the breakfast croissant sandwich and the bacon was VERY hard. Our server was new so knowledge wasn't quite 100% but she was very sweet! The vibe is very busy. Very loud clinking. Loved the open kitchen concept but I think it adds to the very noisy environment. I want to try more but pretty pricey! read more

What a disappointment for my first visit for breakfast. I ordered the patriot breakfast with sausage links, it had only one link and the hash browns were so overcooked they were beyond crunchy. My wife ordered one of the Benedict's and the poached eggs were overcooked. She spoke with the waitress and they ordered two more eggs. Meanwhile the rest of the breakfast was getting cold. When the two newly poached eggs arrived they were almost raw so we asked that the dish be taken off our bill. Perhaps we'll give them another try but not for breakfast. read more

Service was great. Server gave opinion on dishes as we made our choices. Unfortunately, 2 of the 6 appetizers were overcooked (Fried Green Tomatoes & Brussel Sprouts). The Shrimp & Grits entree looked like scrambled eggs. They were yellow & chunky. Not at all like how Grits are supposed to be (white and silky-smooth). 2 in our party ordered the Fish Tacos. One was good, the other had a lonnnnggg hair in it that made us all lose our appetites and not finish our meals. Too bad. We were all looking forward to a new place to frequent. Service was very good. The meal that I had left much to desired. I had ordered a Cobb salad and it looked like they had placed all of the condiments of the salad on the bottom of the bowl and just threw lettuce on top. Most of the time I order a Cobb salad, it comes neatly presented and the condiments are assorted around the outside of the bowl. In addition, I ordered a cup of their clam chowder. It was atrocious the portion size had to be less than 4 ounces and was watery. I do not recommend this item. My friend had a hamburger and fries, it was acceptable not great. I've now been here 4 times in a month--2 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and once for drinks at the bar--will be there for dinner later this week. Good food, prompt service, and mostly reasonable prices--breakfast mimosas are a bit steep at $10. Food has good variety and nicely prepared. The place has far more staff than the last two restaurants that occupied the space, so service has been good. Chase the bartender was quick and very personable--and even after the crowd has cleared out, service and ambiance remained very good. It's great that it is located less than 5 minutes from my house in Grand, so my friends and family will be regulars! read more

Love the location and view of the golf course! That's where it ended for me on my last visit. I took my friend out for breakfast as a thank you. She absolutely loves Eggs Benedict, so I had made sure ahead of time that M&R had it on the menu. Upon being seated, we each ordered ice water and a Mimosa. The ice water came in a few minutes without the drinks. We ordered after a bit and still no drinks. My friend ordered the Classic Eggs Benedict with Hollandaise on the side and I ordered the Denver omelette with Country Potatoes. Our food arrived after a bit, along with our Mimosas. Mine was what I ordered and hers was smothered in Hollandaise. The waitress took it back to have it remade and I began to eat alone. The "Country Potatoes " were dry and flavorless. I'm certain they just came out of a bag with no added onions or peppers. My biscuit was large and tasty, but no honey or jam was offered. Her remade meal was delivered with two fried eggs on top. I've never seen anything but poached eggs on a Benedict! That's part of the appeal. She ate it the way it was served, but she was very disappointed. I was embarrassed by my choice of restaurants, as we had lots of restaurants to choose from. I don't know that I'll return, though it is convenient to have a restaurant in my community. Maple and Rye could up their game with a few changes in the cooking and better service by the wait staff. read more

The brunch menu is great and well paired with a beautiful golf course view. During most of the year the patio is the best place to be seated. Our experiences in the bar and on the patio have always been enjoyable, however the service we've received in the dining room has been just ok. I wanted to like this new place. Unfortunately, it's a no. I made reservations for our party of 8 and received a confirmation. When we arrived, they had no record of it. The hostess and waitress both acted like they hated their jobs, were not friendly, and acted like we were an inconvenience. The food...we all ordered different menu items and they all tasted mediocre at best. Definitely did not match the price we paid. My partner and I always love to try out new NEW places in the area. So, yesterday we went to Grand for lunch at the new Maple and Rye. Gary had a Chicago Dog. I had a hamburger. As Gary is eating and picking. I said to him, " Why is your hot dog gray?" Oh maybe that is why it tastes funny. And this bun is so soggy! My burger tasted like it sat out awhile. The waitress never came back around, even to see if we wanted more water. Is everything ok? I finally asked someone to have our waitress to just bring our check. Service was painfully slow. Took nearly 45 minutes for food to come out. When it did, it was obvious it had been sitting under heat lamp for a long time. Had them refire the sandwich and just gave up on the Benedict. It had sat so long under the heat lamp that the poached eggs looked like they had been hard boiled. Disappointing! My family was excited to have a new restaurant in the neighborhood. We made a reservation for Sunday 8:30am breakfast. The restaurant is beautiful with a great golf course view and the menu has a wonderful selection of entrees. However, it was very disappointing. The servers are inexperienced and not well-trained, this is a management issue not the staff. It took approximately 10 minutes for someone to speak with us after being seated. When ordering, the server could not specify if butter or margarine was served with the pancakes, the restaurant was out of fresh fruit, and our server informed us she is not a morning person. Our food arrived 40 minutes later, during which time we were never checked on, asked if we would like more coffee (we had to ask) or provided an update on our food order and its delay. When food did arrive and ketchup was requested for the potatoes, they were out. The extra butter and syrup that was requested when ordering, did not arrive with our meal and had to be requested a second time. The eggs benedict arrived cold with hard boiled eggs not poached. Yes, hardboiled. I had the unfortunate experience of having to return my entrée and request it be removed from the bill. I did not want it remade (when offered) as it would have arrived after the rest of the table had finished and honestly, I did not have faith in a poached egg arriving. The manager did speak with us to apologize, and we appreciate that. BUT, at the very least, we could have been comp'd the coffee. We were a party of three. read more

Horrible service. My "house " Pinot Grigio on happy hour was $12.50. My cranberry walnut salad was mostly lettuce with very little of anything else. Hardly saw the waitress and no refill on water. The only thing this place has going for it is the view, which is not worth what I paid for a head of lettuce and an overpriced glass of wine. We decided to show up and have lunch with no reservation. We were told 20-30 min... it was an hour wait. The menu had very few items for gluten free (well a few salads and only fish tacos if you can't have salad), so I ordered the berries and cream and two fried eggs to be safe. The berries and cream were very good, but it should be called a bowl of creme with a few berries sprinkled on top. (no joke, a big bowl of cream with almost NO berries) The eggs were ordered over easy with no runny whites. They came barely cooked and the whites were so runny it was like water on my plate. My friend ordered a reuben sandwich, which was good but the tator tots tasted gross because they need to clean their grease. We most likely will not be back. The ambiance was great, but very noisy. Started the night on the patio, overlooking the golf course pond, with specialty cocktails, which were delicious. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The grits were done perfectly, and the shrimp wasn't dry. It was quite good. My husband ordered the Tagliatelle, a homemade noodle dish with sausage, roasted red peppers in a cream sauce. I must admit, the excellent flavors in his dish were much stronger than my dish. We would definitely order both these dishes again. The service was great. We were greeted with smiles, and we were made to feel very welcome by all staff members. We had reservations and got there 15 minutes early. They set us up right away. We had meet with friends to celebrate their Anniversary and we made reservation. our friends arrived first so when we checked in at The Hostess stand they didn't show the reservation and had no clue. Finally we saw our friends who were seated and joined them. The main part of the restaurant was loud we sat on an enclosed patio area much nicer. We ordered a bottle of Riesling to celebrate the waitress had no clue was it Red or White ? really. we ordered the Nashville Chicken which was tasty and The Rueben ( not very good was looking for the meat). our friends ordered food as well and wanted ketchup and hot sauce and they didn't have any. Really? Food was okay but dinner menu looked good so may try dinner. We saw people walk in to dirty tables and just sit down. place was busy and reservations are a must but some didn't care. Recently met here with 12 women. Our (indoor) waitress was so very accommodating, great service, great food. Payed our bills A couple of our friends had not finished their drinks so we moved to the outdoor patio. A few of us were wanting to order an additional drink. No one ever came outside, completely ignored. 20 minutes later a woman came out to check on another table. We hailed her as she quickly tried to walk away inquiring with her, could we get some help please? She said I'll be right back. She never came back. We next moved indoors to the bar hoping to get service. Indoors was the same woman, (the bartender) who had said she was coming right back. We sat at a table in the bar for five minutes again being ignored. Got up and walked all of 5 ft asking the bartender if we need to order directly at the bar or continue to sit at our very visible to her table She said I'll be right with you. 5 minutes later we left. I could understand if it was busy in the bar, but it wasn't. They lost out on probably another hundred dollars which for a new business should be important. This was our second visit. The first, my husbands breakfast was good, 2 over easy eggs done perfectly, hash browns great, one slice of toast, no butter. My english muffin arrive stone cold, no butter and without the 2 eggs that I was told came with. Even our server was confused. Last night we had the fish and chips, won't be doing that again.......far toooooooo much batter on the small amount of fish. Two of my 3 fish pieces were over battered. On a positive note, the chips were good. Who eats that much batter! The kitchen staff need to eat some of their food. I know this is early, but someone needs to address these issues.
