Coopers Hawk is always a great place to visit for wine, food, and friends. Everyone on the staff is always friendly and the ambiance is fun. The filet was spot on and my wife really enjoyed the short ribs. Complementary pretzel bread is always a hit. The only downside is that the menu is a little overpriced for what you get. The place is always packed so maybe I am in the minority with that opinion. If you have not been I would give them a try. "FIMP" Food is my Passion

This place even has its own membership club and storefront where you can sip on the different varieties of wine they offer and hang for some good food or just stop by and grab some bottles to take home. Their service is top tier and food was amazing! Great for a date night or group time with friends or co workers.
The service was excellent, we enjoyed our food as always. And the cocktails were perfect, I recommend a Hugo spritz.
Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere! We stopped her for date night and started off with the Pear Drop Martini which was amazing, I will definitely be ordering it again. For dinner we had the Parmesan crusted Chicken and Chicken Piccata that both were awesome. Our waitress was great and always on the ball. The only minor thing I thought was when we walked in for a table with the hostess, she only mentioned the bar area and high tops when they had a ton of booths and tables. When I asked for a table instead it was a little awkward but they walked us over immediately so I wasn't sure why it felt uncomfortable. Overall though, we had a great experience and will be back bringing family!
Found some new favorite entrees at Coopers Hawk today. The lemon-herb glazed salmon has a nice char, nice flavor, and a reasonable portion. Asparagus was nicely done and the potatoes and tomatoes were good as well. My wife got the lunch portion of the Parmesan-crusted chicken, which was perfect for her.
This is a really great restaurant right in between casual and formal dining. Great selection of wines with sampling options, and the food always comes out great. Have been here before for the regular menu but decided to try out their Valentines menu. Steak and crab stuffed lobster was fantastic! Paired it with their recommended Lux Pinot Noir and we could not ask for a better experience.
We celebrated my 40th birthday here last night and the entire experience was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. We began with a wine tasting and were taken care of by Jaylen (I hope I'm spelling that correctly). He was truly outstanding. His customer service was some of the best I've experienced anywhere -- incredibly warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. He made the tasting so much fun and took such great care of us. The wines themselves were incredible, and he helped make the experience feel special and relaxed rather than rushed. After the tasting we stayed for dinner, and the experience somehow got even better. The service throughout the evening was fantastic. Our waitress was wonderful -- attentive, kind, and thoughtful without ever being intrusive. I unfortunately didn't catch her name, but she absolutely helped make the evening feel like a true celebration. We started with a bottle of Vin Velouté, which was unbelievably smooth and delicious. For our appetizer we ordered the crispy Brussels sprouts and I was completely blown away. The flavors were incredible -- easily the best Brussels sprouts dish I have ever had anywhere. For dinner I ordered Dana's Parmesan-crusted chicken with tomato basil relish, lemon butter, Betty's potatoes, and green beans. The dish was light, fresh, and perfectly balanced. Lemon can sometimes overpower a dish, but here it was done flawlessly -- bright and flavorful without taking over. Every component of the plate complemented the others beautifully. I desperately wanted to try the crème brûlée because it's one of my favorite desserts, but after the wine and such an amazing meal I was simply too full to do it justice. Instead, we were offered the birthday truffles, which turned out to be the perfect sweet ending to the evening. Everything about the night -- the wine, the food, the service, and the atmosphere -- made my birthday celebration truly special. I'm already looking forward to coming back, and I'm especially excited to see what wines I receive through the Wine of the Month Club. Thank you for such a memorable evening!
Very nice! I took my wife to Cooper's hawk for our anniversary. I did make the recommended reservation, but arrived early, so stopped at the wine bar and had a glass of wine. The staff there was very friendly. There is a small gift shop where you can spend a few minutes looking around as you wait. After about 20 minutes, we were seated. My wife didn't care for the table and requested a booth. They accommodated our request without question. The restaurant itself is simple and elegant. Our server promptly asked for our drink order and asked if we had any questions. We placed our orders and were given a nice pretzel bread loaf while we waited. I decided on the Surf & Turf, with the Parmesan Crusted Filet Medallions and Salmon. They came with regular mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. I asked if I could substitute the potatoes for Wasabi mashed potatoes instead and was told no problem. Everything was delicious. The filet was tender and perfectly cooked. The wasabi mashed potatoes were out of this world. And the mixed vegetables were some of the best ever! My wife had the special Calabrian shrimp and really enjoyed it as well. There was only one small hiccup. The pot sticker appetizer was a no show. The server apologized and offered us a dessert. I'd say the Creme Brulee' was a pretty good trade off. The entrees were really good - medallions and the grouper! Service was lackluster but we would try it again. The patio was pretty chilly. We had a reservation for a standard table inside but they asked if we could sit outside. Another group also was asked to consider another area as well. Likely getting us seated faster, but next time I'll pass and wait. Outdoors the heaters are up too high to make a huge difference and some tables don't have a heater above them. The road to this busy shopping area is also nearby so it's noisy and you can smell smoke from the sidewalk if someone is smoking outside. They did move us in the end. We also don't drink so wine wasn't rated here but my goodness if you do they have quite the selection! If you want a quality entree in the west valley and sit inside, love wine- worth a try.
Loved it!!!!! Birthday dinner surprise however I've had several of my guests recommend coming here. The entry is lovely with this huge door and then a wine bar while waiting to be seated. All the staff have been so kind and Happy. Our server, LeAnna, was just lovely. We had some fun with a few items. The lettuce wraps, four cheese truffle arancini, crispy barbacoa quesadilla and the CH smashed sliders. ALL highly recommend. Dessert shows in the photo.

My husband and I visited this location about two weeks ago. Since it's the closest one to us, it's very convenient, but it can also get extremely busy because it's located near the Prasada shopping area. Parking can be a challenge, especially during peak hours. If the main lot is full, you can usually find additional parking in the nearby Costco lot and walk over. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made for a great experience. The wine tasting area is much smaller than the Avondale location, which has a much larger and more spacious setup. During our visit, we learned about the bonus bottle program and received helpful wine recommendations and tasting tips, which we really appreciated. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. If you're looking for a quieter visit, I recommend going during the week when it's less crowded. My only suggestions would be to expand the wine tasting area and improve the parking situation. Otherwise, it's a great place to enjoy a tasting and learn more about wine! read more

An amazing place !! It was a Father's Day surprise. The establishment welcomed me with a glass of champagne for Father's Day. upon entering the facility, you will be burning into the wine tasting bar. Plenty of room along with a large variety of THEIR OWN wines. The establishment is well laid out. Even on a busy day as Father's Day, with the long wait line, crowded wine bar and every table filled, the noise level did not seem that bad. The food is spectacular. was my first time dining here, and I was pleasantly surprised to get in without a reservation--especially since I've tried before with no luck. I happened to walk in on my birthday and was seated after a short 10-minute wait. The restaurant is beautiful and spacious, with a welcoming atmosphere. I appreciated the wine counter, which allows guests to sample or purchase wine without needing to dine in. We ordered the house-made peach lemonade, but initially received a passionfruit version instead--and only one. The manager quickly addressed the mix-up and brought us two peach lemonades. While the gesture was appreciated, the lemonade itself lacked a strong peach flavor despite being made with peach purée. At $6 per glass, I expected a bit more in terms of taste. We started with the eggrolls as an appetizer, which were outstanding. For entrees, we tried Ellie's Chicken Piccata, the Enchilada Stack, and a cup of Chicken Tortilla Soup. The chicken piccata was flavorful and well-prepared. However, the enchilada stack was unexpectedly sweet--more of a tomato-based sauce with a sugary note, which isn't typical of enchiladas. Fortunately, the team allowed me to order a replacement entrée, and I went with Dana's Parmesan-Crusted Chicken. That dish was excellent--rich in flavor and definitely a standout. The chicken tortilla soup, on the other hand, was underwhelming. It tasted more like a basic tomato soup with Southwestern seasoning and lacked actual chicken or depth of flavor. As a birthday treat, I was given two chocolate truffles, which was a thoughtful touch. Overall, my experience as a first-time guest was very positive thanks to the accommodating service, especially from the manager. Although our server was a bit forgetful, the manager's attentiveness more than made up for it. read more

Good service although a 20 min wait from the time we walked in til we sat even though no one was sitting out on the patio, which we reserved. Our reservation was for 4pm and we sat at 4:25pm. Ordered the braised short rib and the meat was pretty tough. You would expect a braised short rib the meat to falll apart, not this one. Service was good. Drinks are good. Wine is good read more

Late entry, Thanksgiving. We made reservations. We were sat within 10 min. Server was "lack lustered" the meal was fine but I had to look at dirty dishes, dirty rags all evening. Waited forever for the check. This is high end for "Surprise City".... As it continues to grow in population. Do better, for the hefty price tag. It just feels rude to have to look at dirty dishes & spray bottles for cleaning products throughout our meal. read more

Ordered delivery of prime rib sandwich, calamari and a Caesar salad. The sandwich and fries were fine. The salad was pretty pathetic for $12.99. I didn't order gluten free but it was. Lettuce wilted and a touch of grated cheese. The calamari has a thick coat of batter and pieces were stuck together in the fryer. Not at all appetizing. Not impressed hope it's better in person but I'll never go. read more

I'm torn on this review because while the food and our server were incredible, the initial experience at the host stand was really disappointing. Our waitress was absolutely the best! She was so kind, super attentive, and made a point to make eye contact and engage with everyone at the table. It was my dad's birthday, and they brought out a birthday treat for him, which was such a nice, thoughtful touch. However, the check-in process was very uncomfortable. The host who greeted us didn't make eye contact with me at all, a person with a disability. Instead of speaking to me directly, he asked the person I was with if I needed a child's menu. As an adult, being talked about rather than talked to was rude and honestly pretty embarrassing. It would have been much more professional to provide standard menus for everyone or just ask me directly if I needed anything specific. The kitchen definitely knows what they are doing. Everything came out hot, fresh, and delicious: The bread and butter were warm and a great start. We had the bruschetta and a shrimp appetizer, both were hits. Our table ordered the cheeseburger and fries, the salmon, and two orders of the short ribs. Everyone loved their meal and had zero complaints about the food quality. The restaurant was packed and had a high-energy vibe, but the music was way too loud, it made it a bit hard to talk. The lighting was also a bit strange; it was very dark, and at several points, the lights would flicker or completely turn off and on again, which was a bit distracting. If you want to go on a Sunday evening like we did (6:00 PM), definitely plan ahead! We made our reservation a couple of days before, but by the time our day arrived, they were completely booked. I'd recommend making a reservation at least a week in advance to be safe. I would definitely come back for the food and the excellent waitstaff service, but I really hope management works with their hosting team on how to treat every guest with basic respect and direct communication. read more

This winery and restaurant shares the Costco parking lot so there is plenty of parking. We ran over for lunch while getting new tires done at Costco. I was glad it was open so early for lunch. I had assumed it was only open in the evening. I've been wanting to try the spot since it opened and today was our lucky day. We walked in without reservations and got seated in three minutes. There's a surprising amount of seating in the main dining areas and the bar area. There's also a very long bar near the entrance for wine tasting, with a shop and merchandise in the same area. Service 5/5 Excellent service all around. We were checked on constantly by the manager and our server who had a beginner server shadowing him. A bartender brought me my drink and was also very attentive and friendly. Food 5/5 We were brought complementary pretzel bread and soft butter by our server. This is very good sweet and soft bread. We ordered: - Unsweetened Tea - refilled often! - Spirit-Free Cocktail THE SPA - Cucumber, Lime, Jalapeño, Mint, Soda (I asked for the jalapeño to be left off). This drink was so refreshing and sweet with real mint and lime, adding the herbal and sour to the cucumber taste to make a perfectly balanced yummy drink to go with my chicken. I usually don't finish my drinks, but I finish this one. - HOUSE-MADE MEATBALLS (BIN 90) Rich Tomato Sauce, Burrata Dolce, Basil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Crostini. These meatballs were so good, and so was the red sauce with Burrata. The buttered toast loaded up with meatball and sauce just had me in heaven. We both loved this starter. - Lunch-Sized Entrées (Available daily 11 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.) COOPER'S HAWK CHICKEN GIARDINIERA - Parmesan-Breaded Chicken, House-Made Pickled Vegetables, Mary's Potatoes. BIN 78 is listed next to this entrée, indicating the best wine on the wine menu to complement this dish. I found this to be very helpful because not being a big wine drinker, I like to have some hints as to what to order. All of the wines here are from there winery in Illinois. Everything is house made, and all wines are from their own vineyard. I loved this dish! I'm not sure everyone would love the pickled vinegar veggies, but to me the thin and tender breaded, chicken OK he said you liked your burger a lot right cutlet, creamy mashed potatoes, and pickled veggies combined to form a delicious and filling dish. I got the lunch sized entrée and it could be a dinner entrée in my opinion. - THE LEONARD BURGER (BIN 50) A Tribute to Founder Tim McEnery's Father-Double Patty, Signature Sauce, Caramelized Onion, American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato. Unseasoned Fries as the side; Add grilled jalapeños on the side. Hubs said this burger was "very good". He ate every bite. He had me taste the fries because he said they were how I liked them, and they were exactly how I like them - crispy on the outside and a little mushy and soft on the inside. This restaurant has a wine club you can join. Our server spoke quickly about it and handed us a pamphlet to look over when we first sat down. There is no pressure to purchase anything. There's a men's woman or women's restroom and a family restroom for customers. read more

Nice Napa style wine bar.... love the ambience. I made reservations for 3 guests, for my friend's birthday celebration. (There was a Long Stall to be seated even tho dining room(s) were all early empty. Strange). Our waitress Joann, kindly offered me a taste of their Chardonnay, brought it, and disappeared for a long Time! How long does it take for the customer to taste wine first? Ha! I understand she either just came on the shift, or was ending a shift and was all over covering a lot of tables. Their lobster, crab bisque was dynamite!!! Everyone seemed happy with their entrée/appetizer. Creme Brûlée dessert was On the House!" for the birthday girl! I'll be back for the $14 wine tasting bar! Thank you! read more

We went to CH for a last minute dinner to celebrate our 5 yr wedding anniversary and it was our first time going. We had a reservation for 7:15 but was informed it would be more like 30 since they were waiting for people to leave (no biggie) we got seated and the little card said it was our anniversary and our server Stephani said happy anniversary and offered champagne. Sadly I cannot have carbonation and informed her of this but wish she could have offered something else in replacement to help us celebrate. My hubby asked if I could get a glass of the blueberry wine and she said oh no they wouldn't let me do that, but how about going to check and see because you never know?! We feel like after that moment she just brushed aside that it was our anniversary and kind of rushed off after getting our drink order. My hubby wasn't the happiest that she rushed off because he didn't even know what kind of bourbon was going to be in his old fashioned nor did she ask what he would like. Luckily it was bullet. For dinner I got the grilled medallions and he got the filet with the wasabi butter potatoes. We both enjoyed our cuts of meat but his potatoes tasted awful. He was not happy about it and when she came to check on us after a long while he couldn't even finish swallowing his food to tell her before she just took off. One thing we were surprised about was how long it took for our food to come and at that point it wasn't that busy but it seems to be trend per reviews we've read. For desert we got the smores bodino and it was tasty, but too much chocolate mouse and the vessel it is in, is not functional. Seeing the layers in the clear seamless wine glass is cute but hard to eat and get into. If it were in a larger ramekin, it would be much easier to eat and the marshmallow layer wouldn't be as thick, making it more of an evenly distributed bite of flavors. My 2 biggest pet peeves were when our server boxed my food, she boxed the scraps no one would ever box (like eww) and the tables just sat there dirty. One table in front of us left around 8pm (close it 9) and it sat with crumbs on it and a glass and then other table left at 8:30ish and it was still covered in dishes as we got closer to leaving. A restaurant should take pride in their appearance no matter how close to close and get tables cleared, plus I'm sure dishwashers would love to have them brought back sooner so they don't have to stay too late. Overall it was good food but nothing to rave over and the serve was just lack luster. Maybe in the future we will give it another shot to try different entrees but for now it's nothing I would tell friends and family they need to try. read more
