So glad I found this place tucked away about 5 minutes from my house! Yesterday was my first visit and Sandra was an absolute joy! The space is small but very inviting. A great massage that was a perfect mix of relaxing but focused pressure on areas where I had a lot tension. To top it off, the price point was incredible. Very reasonable rates compared to anywhere I've been in Austin. read more

Went to see Monica after reading Yelp! reviews and she is as amazing as everyone says. She isn't just a knowledgable, capable masseuse, she is extraordinarily talented, intuitive and wise about bodies, movement and people. Best massage of my life, and I have tried them all over town and in many towns. I have injuries and arthritis in my neck and my last massage (at a less expensive place) left me with excruciating pain in my neck. I partly picked Monica because she does Crainal Sacral, so I knew she knows how to deal with special necks and heads. I told Monica about my condition and the experience and she knew immediately knew what to do and what not to do. And even gave me advice what to be aware of and ask for when getting a massage to keep my neck safe. The rest of my body was incredibly well taken care of too, with the perfect pressure for me and releasing key trigger points that helped my whole body relax and realign. Mantis has a nice peaceful atmosphere and I'm happy to have found them, and happy for their success. I look forward to more massages with Monica and the team. read more

Today I had a 60 minute full body massage with Becca and she was absolutely WONDERFUL! It was like she understood my body and knew where the tension was, then after she used her technique to do the magic trick (for deep tissue). Super effective and skilled she is! Thank you so so much Becca. P.S. I loved your playlist playing in the background. Stay safe and Namaste!! :) read more

I started going to Mantis when it was just Kyra and I really loved how close it was to my house and Kyra was by far the best, most consistent, and well-priced masseuse that I had been to. However, my review now is really for Luci. Luci is the best messeuse I have ever been to! EVER!!! I have had so many different massages around Austin, including ones at really nice spas like Milk & Honey and Luci is the best by light-years, in my humble opinion. I sit at a desk all day and had bad posture in my earlier days which led to chronic back/shoulder/neck/arm pain down the right side of my upper body. I always tell masseuses this and emphasize that I would like them to only work on this but they always end up massaging other parts of my body anyways (and usually not that well). Luci is the first person that actually listened and spent almost the entire 45 minutes starting with my front chest area and working down every single knot in my chest, arm, neck and back (yes, only 45 minutes and she got this awesome review!). If you know anything about chronic computer pains, you know that it is usually caused by being hunched over and your back ends up hurting to overcompensate for your front not holding the right posture. Luci knew this and actually did something about it! I love that she did not hold back and just went for it. I hate it when masseuses treat you like you're rich and you can come back every week. I WILL come back if you do a good job. However I am definitely out of the market for any new masseuses 'cause Luci is my girl from now on! read more

I get Thai massages bimonthly, which I love. I've also unfortunately experienced a gambit of crappy Groupon sponsored massages and uber expensive spa ones. Mantis is legit, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants professional body work. I had Luci. She was amazing. My only regret is I should have gotten a 120 minute session instead of a 90. read more

I've been to Mantis Massage seven times. I've never picked a specific person. I've always had an excellent massage. Maybe it's the work culture, or maybe it's their screening process, but they're doing everything right. Which explains why they're often booked a week in advance. That's my only complaint. read more

If you want a deep tissue massage, go see Abby. I'm sure she does other styles, but her deep tissue was incredible. After 2 weeks on the road, moving and all that goes with that, my back was twisted and knotted pretty badly. I booked a 1 hour massage with Abby, and she worked it out. She's intuitive, knowing when to apply more pressure and when to release, and talked through the process to ensure that I was aware & comfortable with her approach. The added bonus was that she also spent time on my arms & hands, which held more tension than I realized. I've already booked my next appointment with Abby. read more

This was first time getting a massage. I got a gift certificate from my sister (so thoughtful!), so I decided after a long weekend on the place and work, I deserved a massage! So glad I went! Kylee was really good and I felt really confortable the whole time. And I agree with the other reviews, the place is small, but warm and friendly, not a big infreindly coorprate feel like I imagine you get at the other places. I'll be back next month! read more

I couldn't believe how close this place was to where I loved until yelp. I would never be able to tell what this was if I were driving past it. You can book an appointment online and I was able to book something within 24 hours. The customized massage is the way to go. Catered to what is giving you the most trouble. I came in because my mid back was hurting so bad, I was bed ridden. Monica helped a ton. She was interested in understanding where the pain came from and asked a lot of questions. It felt more like a sports massage but I really enjoyed it. I never usually talk during my massages but I felt comfortable. She really knew her stuff. I've gone back a couple of times and look forward to going more. She showed me a couple of stretches to do in between massages and they've been working. I recommend. read more

I really would give FRANKIE a 5 but the overall Mantis Massage a 4. I am always a 20% tipper in all aspects of my life. So when I saw the sign about tipping and the increments I SHOULD be tipping was a turn off. I feel like it is tacky and the last thing I want to feel is guilted I didn't give enough of a tip by THEIR standards. BUT if you want the best release of pain and pressure out of your glutes - Frankie is the one to choose! read more

I hurt my back last week and called yesterday morning. Scheduled a 90-minute massage with Sparkles for the same day. She was awesome. One of the best massages I've had. Feeling better too. Thank you! read more

I just had my first prenatal massage at Mantis and it was absolutely incredible. Becca was my therapist and I literally can't rave enough about her. She hit all the right spots with the perfect amount of pressure, finding all the nooks and crannies between my shoulder blades. I couldn't leave without booking my next appointment. I highly recommend her and Mantis Massage! read more

I always thought massages were the kind of cucumber-eyed, botanical face mask luxuries reserved for the nouveau riche. But now that I've had one, I understand the necessity of setting the body straight, especially when the world demands so much of us physically. I had the sweet privilege of getting worked on by Kelsey. She's incredible! She had an awesome tone with me during our initial consult, provided an extremely relaxing environment, and worked my muscles hard. She beat me up in the best way. It's a new year, and now I'm a new me. She was incredible at finding the trigger points of my pain, crunching and wriggling it away. I knew that I was going to walk away feeling better (and I did!). Kelsey finished by giving me tips on posture, stretches, and exercises to help my back pains. I'm going to try to get in for a massage with her every couple of weeks. Have I mentioned that she's great? read more

I'm pretty convinced Kyra is magical. She has worked on healing me for the past several months and is a success! I walked around for years in a lot of pain. I thought it was normal wear and tear. Boy was I wrong! I initially came across her through Go Local Austin and then read her Yelp reviews. I took advantage of a Yelp deal and never looked back. I'm so glad I did--Kyra is simply the best. She is a woman with strong hands and a plan. When I first came to her, she devised a course of action to get me out of pain. It involved a series of appointments and now we are on a regular schedule. Be prepared to be seriously impressed--the lady is STRONG. Give her a shot. Not only is she professional and takes the time to explain and tailor a plan for you, she is pretty cool too. I'm proud to call her my massage therapist. read more

I'm updating my review: I really want to keep coming to this place but I can't seem to find a therapist I like. A little background: I've got knots all over my back, one of which has been there for years. Luci was the only therapist who was able to get them to release during a session. She used gentle micro-movements and I always felt better afterward. Since she left I've tried... Monica- decent therapist, but her massages always felt impersonal and cut n' dry, and I always had to remind her to not massage my face Kalli- also decent, but incredibly forceful, to the point where I couldn't relax and actually felt worse afterward. Sorry Mantis, but I may have to look elsewhere, unless you can clone Luci. read more

I had a 1 hour deep tissue with Becky yesterday. Fantastic, intuitive, and she played great music too - highly recommend! Best massage I've had in a long time. Super deep pressure which I needed after a crazy game of bubble soccer read more

I have some difficult neck issues and this was my first time trying a massage for it. My massage therapist (Taylor) was fantastic! She spoke with me first about what areas were of the most concern and definitely addressed those. I've not felt such relief in my neck for years. I plan to go back, hopefully once or twice a month, to continue helping and getting back into alignment. I think Taylor may have reversed a year+ of damage and it finally feels better. All of the staff I encountered were helpful and nice. I'd definitely recommend and look forward to future visits. read more

I had my first massage here with Dannie this last Saturday after 3 years since my last massage and this whole last year spent working from home without a proper workspace doing it's worst to my body/posture and causing me to develop carpal tunnel. So needless to say, I am presently chronically tense, but after my appt Saturday I was floating on a cloud. Dannie was fantastic! She was very considerate and provided me great relief and I look forward to going back and working to get my body back to stasis. She suggested/offered cupping which I'd been curious about so I decided to give it a shot and she told me what to expect and to let her know if anything was too intense or painful. My husband was even feeling the bruises the cups leave after and said, "Wow, you can even feel the difference in tension from where she did the cupping." (He was my go-to masseuse before I decided to seek a professional hahaha). I'm excited to try that again next time. It's gonna take more than one massage to unknot this bag of ropes my back has become, but I'm glad I found a great place and people to go to for that relief! read more

I had a great massage with Bobbie. Studio is a convenient location and well maintained. Would definitely return.

Karey Green is awesome. She knew exactly what areas needed the most work and was able to provide a deep tissue massage that two days later has my muscles feeling relaxed and happy. I have already recommended her and Mantis Massage to several people and will continue to do so. The location is pretty easy to get to and has a very calm vibe. read more

I always seem to book appointments at the last minute, so I have had treatments here from four of the therapists. All of them are phenomenal, highly skilled practitioners. Each has provided effective deep tissue treatment and advice that has helped to alleviate injuries. The environment is clean and comfortable. It is very easy to book an appointment online, and the therapists are all very friendly and helpful. They always provide as much pressure as I can handle, which I have found to be rare. I highly recommend this business. read more

The steering was nice and serene. I liked the space a lot and the room as nice an big. Diane was great, really worked my problem areas. I had a great experience and definitely expect to be back. read more

OMG! Kelsey is a muscle whisperer! I get massages pretty regularly and need deep tissue. These 5 stars are really for Kelsey though. The location and front area are fine. I'm not going there to be wow'ed by the looks, i'm going there to get a massage and my eyes are closed the whole time anyway. I highly recommend this place and it was extremely affordable. I have seen much higher prices at other places. If you are looking for a cheap massage you're gonna get a cheap massage. I will be coming back forever! read more

I've been searching for 8 years across 3 cities to find a masseuse that I was compelled to book a follow-up appointment with after my first visit. Finally found Monica. I've had fantastic massages before, but this was just a bit extra on the therapy side, which is exactly what I needed. I appreciated her dialogue about what she was noticing and we tried to unwind my left hip and lower back, and her prescription of a foam roller to loosen things up for next time is something I can clearly feel making a difference. I cannot wait to get in there again in 3 weeks and see how much more of this misalignment nonsense we can address (seriously, I'm thinking about booking another one next week because I want that treatment again). read more

Mantis Massage, you're a gem! 60 minutes of deep tissue heaven with Ann Marie is just what I need after a long week. Every time I book an appointment at Mantis I wish I had booked a longer one. The atmosphere is so relaxing and friendly and cozy, not to mention it even smells blissful. Massages are worth every penny and they even have a rewards system where after a certain number of visits, you get $15 off a massage! This is one of my favorite businesses in Austin and I'm definitely a customer for life. read more

I had an amazing massage here from Elisa! I was able to get in same-day by booking online (easy!) several hours before my noon Saturday massage. I also chose Mantis because of the stellar 5-star average Yelp rating, plus I found that their rates were about 10-20% less than similar places. I got the kinks in my back worked out in a calm, peaceful, intimate environment where I felt 100% comfortable. Thank you so much! I will be back. EDIT: Kelsey rocks too! read more

I have tried to get everyone I know to go here because Monica has really helped me find some balance. She has even suggested stretches and exercises that have been tremendously helpful in between sessions. This is the kind of place you go if you want some real results. While the atmosphere is very relaxing, it's not a frilly/ extravagant Four Seasons spa. I'm not very savvy with certifications for therapists, but it seems that Monica must have something more advanced than other massage therapists I have seen in the past because you can tell that she is highly educated. Girl knows her stuff. Very impressed with all aspects of this business. It's so easy to schedule appointments - get gift cards - receipts - everything is digital.... read more

Had a great experience at Mantis Massage, after I received a gift card for a 60-minute massage. The atmosphere is very relaxing and chill. Becca was fantastic and really helped with my low back pain. Would definitely recommend! read more

Lets start with the good. Karey Green was absolutely fantastic. Best massage EVER. Prices are reasonable for even a solid massage, but what she did for me was remove my pain for almost 3 days. As somebody who hasn't had a pain free day in over 10 years let me tell you miracle workers. Now the bad, after your first massage make sure you reschedule immediately. This place books out fast. They could probably have twice as many therapists and still be fully booked, yes they are that good. Schedule fast and schedule often. Would I go back again? Heck yes, in fact I will see you Sunday. read more

Mantis Massage - Yup - Massage Near Me - Austin, Texas

Monica gave a great massage customized to the issues I've been having. She also had some great advice for things to do at home. Great location, great price. read more

Overall: YES! No frills, get a massage because its a massage business and thats what you want. Bad: If anything, I would have to complain about the head rest for the bench I was on, it was facing down a bit too much and wasn't adjustable. Good: Such a great massage. I had Abby Alderete who asked about pressure regularly. She is strong and really worked out my knots! The price is the best 'regular' I have seen and it is a vary fair price! Its also very clean, as I was leaving, Abby was replacing the linen (which you will notice a wall of clean linen upon entering). Solid place. read more

Kelsey is the best! I've been going to her for months and I have major shoulder tension - super crunchy. She always gets in there and I need super deep tissue help! She's awesome and just overall great person. I am SO SAD she is leaving on her amazing trip. I just tried to book her before she left and she's ALL FULL! :( I guess I have to call in and see if there's a Kelsey twin. read more

After at LEAST a year and a half of not having a massage, I finally decided that being 8 months pregnant I should really treat myself. I made an appointment with Laura Gilpin. Before making the appointment, Laura had told me about the Yelp deal and so I took advantage of that, thank you! I wasn't sure what to expect from a prenatal massage but Laura was very knowledgeable and we discussed some of the techniques she would be using before we started. The experience was exactly what I needed. The massage was very beneficial and it was wonderful that she was able to give me a massage that was on par with a massage I would have when not pregnant. I'm booking myself at least one more appointment before the baby comes and I've recommended my husband get one for himself as well. Thank you, Laura! read more

I've been going to mantis monthly for about two years now and every single visit (with every single therapist) has been amazing. Truly. I've been resistant in writing a review because I'm selfish and I wanted to preserve this absolute gem all to myself but damn it, they deserve it. You really can't get a better therapeutic massage, anywhere. Congrats ladies, you deserve all the 5 star reviews you get! read more

I really liked the energy of this place and my massage therapist! Becca was so great and I felt so much better after I left her capable hands. I even went home and fell asleep for 3 hours afterwards! They'll be getting a lot of referrals from me! read more

Ok so it was a little late, but wow, Kelsey was fab! I came in on Halloween, (I know a little late, but oh well, been moving.) She knew all the pressure points and it was soooo healing. I was really on a cloud. It felt like 5 minutes cause it was so good, but it was the full hour. My back has been thanking me ever since! read more

Carmen was amazing! I have a lot of back pain and she was so great, i left feeling so sore but amazing. Would absolutely recommend.

I had a session with Khammi at the South Congress location and it was the best massage I have ever received. Her expertise on human anatomy was extremely helpful in the massage but also after where she provided details on things to add to my daily life. I highly recommend anybody who has deep tension to schedule a session with Khammi! read more

First: amazing location, adorable business, cool interior design. I wanted to live in the waiting room. Second: Ash is a miracle-worker! I came in a stressed, over-worked grad student with a permanent hunch in my back from too many hours at a desk and left feeling loose and limber. Ash worked out so much of the tension I had been holding in my back, neck, and shoulders. She also gave me great tips on stretches I could do at home to help with the stiffness. Third: 5 stars for Mantis! I will be back for sure. read more

I had an amazing massage with Sparkles for the first time yesterday. I've had many massages before since I have chronic pain, but it was the first time at Mantis. Sparkles was so great. I couldn't recommend her more. I gave her a five-second overview of what I do at work (it's a physical job) and she knew exactly where to start and found all the knots. She even found muscle knots I didn't know I had haha. The location was clean, quiet and very comfortable. Will definitely be going back regularly. So glad to have found a new place to get massage therapy regularly. read more
