My washing machine just broke and searching for a temporary laundromat led to mostly ghetto results. Manoa Laundry is clean, quiet, lots of parking and well lit. I felt safe to leave my clothes in the wash and leave the building to get a quick lunch from the many options in the plaza. Overall a very pleasant experience when I was expecting a lousy chore. Good machines, but I can only speak for the washing machines as my dryer is still working and I took my clothes home to dry. read more

Went here to wash some comforters but 2 of the 4 big machines were inoperative; one was plain broken and the other was so full of quarters I could've fished one or two out. Noticed the change machine was out of change too. Several of the small machines were also posted as out of order. Machines that were working were dirty outside and the facility looks like it only gets cursory cleanings. The loads are pricey--$6 for a large unit, $4.25 for the medium size. Not sure about the regular small size units. After all that, I still would've gladly paid had the big machines been working. When I walked away, $25 or better went with me. read more

First timer their had to figure everything out on my own bc their was no staff. This laundry mat has plenty dryers and alot of washers that takes up to 8x load. Which is great. Like any other laundry mat they usually take quarters not this laundry mat. You actually have to use a card step by step it takes you on how to get a card, reload your card and check your balance..... since making the move to here bc I heard alot of good of this place. My laundry seems to be done alot more faster which I love!!!! The only negative thing I'd say about this place is no staff available to help it seems those who have been going their help out the new comers just how I was which is very helpful, it's not air conditioned so you do sweat fast but overall I give them a 3 star. read more

Manoa laundry recently replaced all the washers & dryers. Now they do not take coins, but you must use a card you add money to. You can not add money with a credit card, even though the machines were designed to allow you to do so. The new washers do not spin the water out of the washed clothes properly. I used more than one washer & talked to several other patrons & we ALL had the same problem. The WiFi they offer has not worked for MONTHS. It takes at least FOUR times the time to dry your clothes in the new dryers. The ONLY "good" thing about not taking coins in the machines is that the 3-4 times & left them information to refund me the money lost in washers & dryers that did not work properly I never got a refund. One last thing, NONE of the ceiling fans work. AWFUL place! read more

This is the best one I've found. They overhauled the facility and have all new machines with plenty of time to really get your clothes clean. I try come on the days that Manoa Marketplace has their farmers market that way I can get my shopping done while I do my laundry. Also there are bathrooms that are conveniently located in the marketplace. All in all great facility and great location. read more

WORST LAUNDRY MAT IN HAWAII!!! I'm a local resident in Manoa and have been using this laundry mat for a couple months now. Every time I've been in, either the coin machine does not give out the right amount of coins or the washer/dryer does not work properly or eats coins. Also when u have an issue there is no one to talk to, they just have a "suggestion" box with no paper or pen. This is an extremely poor establishment and I hope they get there s**t together because this is the only laundry mat in manoa. read more

Hasn't had hot water in more than two months. You can choose "warm" for your wash, but since the hit water heater isn't working the "warm" setting = cold water wash. Parking is awful. Manoa Marketplace security limit parking near the laundromat to 2 stalls, so most patrons have to park at least 300 feet away in the regular MMP patrons parking lot and carry their laundry to the laundromat. read more

I've been to great laundromat but this has to be one of the worst!!! Spent $4.50 on one of the triple loader and doesn't work meaning it would spin probably every 40sec!! So I waited till it stopped then moved to another triple loader same thing happened!!! Spent $9.00 for nothing!! So I decided to use the smaller washer having to separate my laundry into 3 different washer spending $2.50 for each!!!! What's the point of having a business when they don't have anyone around to help or at least answer our calls!! It's business like this makes me sick, making money off of us and not being considerate!!! I will never come here and will report to BBC. read more

After $15 of dryer fare was spent we got to spend the rest of the evening relaxing next to a room length make shift clothes line fashioned together with parachute string connected to two weighed down chairs. Who doesn't love spending $15 on 3 different dryers to toss your wet clothes around in a cylindrical air conditioner for 35 minutes? read more

This is the biggest laundromat in the Honolulu area with the most washers and dryers. The back parking lot is reserved and they will tow if you park there. Sometimes, the back door is open so you can drop off your laundry and then park your car in the front lot. However, if it is locked, which is most of the time, you have to haul all your laundry from the parking lot to the laundromat, and when your done, carry it basket by basket out to your car. That's really fun when it's raining. I have had nice sheets and clothes taken/stolen as I'm going to park my car, or take stuff out to the car. I spoke to the shopping center management about the inconvenience, but she said that the owner will not pay for any parking spots in the back. If you park your car on the side and try to unload from there into the front door, you will be yelled at. Even if you tell them you are just dropping off and will move your car. Being yelled at by the shopping center caretakers can ruin a good day, as it did mine. My suggestion is take two people to do laundry here. I absolutely hate doing laundry there, however there just is not any other place that's not a dump. The guy that actually works in the laundromat is very nice and helpful; it's just he's not there all the time. My suggestion; town needs more coin laundry places. Any entrepeneurs?? read more

TOTAL RIP-OFF!!! I've been coming here for about 8 months. BEFORE = pleasant place to wash clothes. NOW: --BROKEN washing machines and dryers. --NO ATTENDANT. NO COMMUNICATION. You don't know which washers and dryers are broken. You have no way of getting your money back. --PRICE INCREASE. Last week, one quarter would get you 4 minutes of drying time. Today one quarter gets you 3 minutes. I wasted over $10.00 because two of my dryers were broken. After an hour in the dryer, the clothes came out as cold as they went in. Other customers were complaining as well--at least FOUR dryers were broken. read more

Overpriced and forget trying to get a refund from the owners! Check to make sure the dryer is actually heating, or you will return 30 minutes later to a wet, cold mess! It is usually very hot in there. There are a lot of ceiling fans- none of them on! The ONLY good thing is free WiFi (if you are in the right place). read more

ZERO stars if I could. I've been a Manoa resident for years and a patron of Manoa Laundry for serveral months. Doing a load of laundry here is like a sad, sick, sadistic version of Las Vegas slots. Machines (washers and dryers) are always broken and it's always a gamble as to which ones are out. Their claims policy "says" they'll reimburse you by mail if you jump through their hoops to get your change back. But somehow I doubt it. Especially after my most recent dealings with them. This past Sunday morning I had started a load of wash in one of their machines for a when we noticed there weren't any suds and the machine was intermittently powering off. Their particular machines lock when the water starts so we couldn't open it to get our load out. Numerous calls to their support number over the course of the day went to voicemail and none of our calls were returned. Much time was wasted that day going back to the Laundromat to see if the cycle completed. Checked several times from 10:30am until 8:00pm only to find the wash cycle still stuck exactly where the power glitches had begun. Here's where it gets funny. I know where the owners live. I've seen a woman come into the Laundromat to fill the quarter machines. While walking my dog I very frequently pass their house and often cross paths with the very same 'quarter machine filling' woman leaving said house to walk her dogs. So, I go and ring their front doorbell. No answer. I wait a minute or two and ring again. Still no answer. So I walk up the side of their house past all the lit windows and lightly tap on their back door (which happens to be close to their BMWs). They answer immediately. The guy who answers then proceedes to lie through his teeth saying that their not affiliated with the Manoa Laundry. But then he suddenly stops himself and asks me why I want to know. When I tell him about the trapped load of laundry and unanswered calls he cuts me off and says "Oh yeah, no. We're not affiliated with them". :D So I go back at 9:45pm to stake out the place and try to catch someone as they lock up. What do I find? The machine was mysteriously reset, the wash cycle completed and my load of wash freed. Yeah. Never again. read more

Not a lot of choice in the area for launderettes, which is probably just as well for this laundry, but not so much for the patrons. For months we dealt with 6-8 broken dryers so began coming in the mornings to get away from the waiting for dryers. It was then that we watched several women come in early to wash their dog beds, blankets, and even dog harnesses. And I don't mean just a couple, I mean dozens of dog beds and blankets; enough that they must have been dog boarders. So if you want your child's clothes washed in the same machines as dog faeces-ridden beds and wads of matted dog hair, this would be the place. Given the expensive car one of these women was driving, it's not a stretch to guess that she has her own washer and dryer at home, but obviously doesn't want it clogged up with her own many dogs' hair. Such a nice entitled lady that she'd prefer others patrons deal with it - as well as the owner of the establishment in fixing clogged filters. read more

Ok, so I almost didn't write this because for some reason or another, I have this aversion to laundromats. But, why not... I still had a valid experience right? Well bummers for me, my dryer is broken, and until I get it repaired, I will be laundromat-ing it. So I trek on over to Manoa, because I hear this is the more tolerable spot. I walk in and notice that there sorta isn't a ceiling. Yes, there's a roof, but just rafters above head. Kinda ghetto. I want to get in, wash my crap and get out, ASAP. So I only had 3 loads, and lucky for me, there were 3 machines open next to each other. Score- that is until halfway through the cycle when I notice my first machine had A LOT of suds going on inside. And they weren't going away. Ugh. Someone either put some funky kind of soap in it, or it was broken or something because by the end of the wash, it had so much soap in there that the window was pure white that I was too afraid to open the door. 9 more quarters go in, and by the end, the window is no longer white, but my towels still have so much soap in them that they make a crinkley sound when I touch them. Gross. But at least I can change machines now. But- that's 9 more quarters outta my pocket. All in all, it took 27 quarters for me to wash my towels. It would have been nice if there had been someone there, like an employee, but I know that's not common for a laundromat. By the end of the evening, I was so cranky from my over-sudsed experience, I just stuffed my junk in my laundry bag and left. Gosh, I hope my machine gets fixed quickly. read more

dear 'discount' cleaning slumlords, I'm writing on here because you 'comment box' has NEVER had paper and NEVER had a pen for leaving feedback... not that you're actually going to bother surfing the World Wide Web (aka information super highway) to discover what's happening with your machines... for that matter, you probably wouldn't read the comments anyway. i'm taking the time to write to you in contrast to how you treat your customers. for the second time in six months or less, you have raised the prices on the washers. it used to cost $2.00 for a double loader. then $2.50. okay, i can understand a slight increase. and then just a few weeks ago, you hiked it up again to $3.50 for a double loader. i'm a weekly user (have been for two years), and both times, to my knowledge, you neglected to post a letter (on the front door?) stating the upcoming price change. instead, we show up and must discover for ourselves. i always speak with others when i'm there, and i've never come across a content customer. it's not like you must provide us with eye-to-eye service all day long, every day. no. all you have to do is redo some of your signage, give us a little respect, and provide us with some paper and writing apparatus (aka pen) to allow us to better communicate with you. (on second thought, why would you want to know how much we hate your Laundromat?!). damn, now i just realized that i'm never going to get this precious time back - i've wasted my invaluable time writing to you, and you're never going to read this. last thoughts: so what does that giant price hike get us? anything? will your ghetto machines actually function properly, for a change? and lastly, PLEASE LEAVE US WITH SOME LABELS SO WE CAN INFORM YOU OF BROKEN MACHINES. read more

As much as I don't like going to laundromats, I do have to say to reviewer "Esteban W" that these kinds of places need to charge a lot of money in the islands because of the high cost to operate. Setting aside the cost of water and electricity being higher than mainland, what's mostly driving the costs is the rent for the space. Agree with you that Manoa is good because it's near all of the shops! read more

I found this laundromat through Yelp's reviews and they were very good reviews indeed. I did my laundry there this morning for the first time and was impressed with the facilities and how clean and efficient the machines were. The price was good being 9 quarters for a small load, 17 for the large load, and 1 quarter for every 4 minutes of dryer time. Go in the early morning so the machines are fresh and no one is really there. Plus the place has no ac so the room will still be cool. The place is located in the mini mall along East Manoa Road tucked around the corner from Safeway near Bank of Hawaii. My boyfriend and I had the most horrible time trying to find the place and didn't even realize it was in the mall the whole time. We were in and out in an hour. Plus, there is some great stores around to check out if you are bored. I'd recommend this place as one of the best self-service laundromats on the island considering every other place is super dirty or really freaking old and crappy. I would give zero stars if I could. This place sucks. They never answer the phone. I came in today. Both coin machines are broken. No one to assist. I finally find a number to call on google and after I say the coin machine is broke the lady hangs up. I call back and she says go to subway and ask for quarters. Subway isn't going to give me a roll or two or quarters. Neither is longs cause I tried. This was Sunday. FHB is closed. BOH isn't there anymore. The owners or at least an employee should be there to assist their customers. When I told her this on the phone she hung up again. Rude woman. I tried to call again and she wouldn't answer. This isn't a way to run a business. They also don't use hot water. Next time if you go feel the washer glass or the water when it's filling or at ANY time. It's never hot or even warm. I filed a complaint with the BBB against this place and now they have a small handwritten sign that says they don't use hot water because its better for the clothes and the environment...yeah right. It's a bunch of bull and so is this place. Don't go here! read more

Disappointed to find that the place is quickly going downhill. Today three of four triple loaders were broken, the extra large machine was broken, numerous other machines were out of order and/or falling apart (poor or non-existent maintenance). There is significant mold growth under the lids of the soap and fabric softener areas. The overhead fans are dirty and inoperable. The place is unattended so when there is a problem or lost coins they used to refund your loss after you "file your loss report". Today there's a sign that says due to costs they won't refund any loss under $0.75. I've been coming here for years but won't go back until they get things back on track. read more

This place sucks. It's cheap which is good but they do NOT use hot water. I've went here to wash my comforter for about a year now and never any hot water. You can turn the knob to hot but its cold. I've felt the pipes and felt the water when it takes the detergent. It's always cold. No hot water in the sink also. I have called several times and complained and they always say "oh it just must have broken". I love the size and the price of this place but not having any hot water and trying to be sneaky about sucks. read more

I've gone to Manoa Laundry on and off for the past 3 years. There has never been a staff member present at the place and the aging machines are unreliable. Only the dryers in the back seem to work well and the regulars take them up pretty quickly. The rest of the dryers suck up money to do the job. Tonight, after inserting 27 quarters into their largest washer unit to wash blankets, the machine did not work. There is no way to push a button to return your money on any of the machines. I called the help line 808-285-0979 which is just a voicemail that says leave a note in the suggestion box (which has no paper). This will be my last visit to an unreliable laundromat. I'm surprised that this place has lasted so long in a high quality shopping center. read more
