I noticed iDo Laundry at other locations and remember that a friend would go out of her way and I've been searching for places to wash some large comforters as our machine isn't made for such load and after having ordered a meal right next door at Shaloha Pita it was a great opportunity to check it out as I wait for my order. It's not very large though do offer various types of machines and prices are posted on each machine is nice though it seems to be pretty dated and noticed that it takes quarters though doesn't seem to have any change machines but noticed there was a counter without seeing a staff and as most do their load there's no place to wait for it and though they do have parking that's shared with other tenants as well the convenience is questionable but do love the location and if have a simple load would possibly consider it in the future. My dad needed to wash a large tarp-like cloth so we came to iDo Laundry, located right next to Subway and Shaloha Pita, across from Saint Louis/Chaminade. The place was clean and organized, with washing machines on one side, and dryers on the other. We came here because our house is currently being renovated and our laundry area is not done yet. We were initially looking for a 24 hour place but since we left the house early enough we came here. Plus all the the other laundromats near our home seemed kind of sketchy. This place is great because: 1. Definitely not sketchy. The area and machines are well maintained. It's brightly lit. And they have cameras. I don't know about you but that gives me peace of mind. 2. They have an attendant working. So if you need help they're there. Also the come around every hour and just look around to make sure things are good. 3. They have vending machines for snacks and drinks if you need them. I don't know about you but I have a thing about leaving my laundry thinking someone might try and steal clothes. Hey I happened to me once years ago when I lived in Kalihi. They also sell detergent, fabric softener, and dryer sheets. Seriously they have you covered. 4. They have drop off service! Not many places off this so it's something to note. This is my first time ever going to a laundromat here in Hawaii. Is that weird? Sure, I've been to one at apartments and condominiums, and small hotels and motels, and an actual store like one in LA when I stayed at my friend's dorm, but I never needed to here since I always had a washing machine....and the sun. Well, after purchasing a semi-thick, large size comforter and a heavy, super size couch blanket cover for the Winter, they are no longer needed, but they don't quite fit in the washer! I planned to go to Kaimuki Laundromat on 10th Ave, but when I got there, both of the Extra Large Washers were taken by one lady and she just started them (20 minutes). Great. Doing a second Yelp search led me to here, iDo Laundry, and I'm glad we came here. iDo Laundry is located across St. Louis High School/Chaminade University and St Louis Drive Inn along Waialae and 3rd Ave. It's in a small strip mall with L&L and Subway. The parking lot is very small with only 10 stalls. You can also park along 3rd Avenue as well. iDo Laundry isn't a big place, but there's enough washers and dryers. More than Kaimuki Laundromat at least. There's a mix of washers with several top loading ones, a couple of old Whirlpool front loading ones, several Maytag Commercial Large front loading, and one Extra Large size washer. The top loading washers are $2.75. Old Whirlpools are $3.00, and $3.25 for Super Cycle. Maytag Commercial Washers start at $5.75 for basic cycle. $6.00 for Super cycle. $6.25 for Deluxe. $6.50 for Ultimate. The Extra Large Capacity Washer is $11.25. Only one cycle, and it takes 31 minutes from start to finish. All the dryers are Maytag brand. There's 18 large size dryers that can handle most regular and large loads, and one Extra Large Capacity dryer, which is HUGE. A man of my Extra Large size can climb in for a ride! All dryers are $1.50 to start, which yields 24 minutes and you can add 25 cents more for 4 additional minutes. The Extra Large one is $1.50 for 18 minutes, and each additional quarter adds 3 minutes. All the machines only take quarters, so bring all your loose change! There's a change machine as well. iDo Laundry is staffed, so if you need smaller bills or something they can help you. They also provide their own drop off cleaning services at $1.30 per pound per cycle with a 14 pound minimum. They can also wash your comforters from twin to king size starting at $14 and add two dollars more for each size up. Other services include alterations and ironing as well. Their prices seem very reasonable. Overall, everything was clean and dried very well. Didn't think I'd have to drop almost $15 in quarters, but the job is done. There's no lounge to wait besides a small end table with three chairs to hang out. At least it's air conditioned with one TV. There's also vending machines with cheap snacks! Only 25-50 cents each! Sodas are $1.00. I don't believe to be in need of a laundromat in the near future, and I'm curious of the Kapahulu one, but iDo Laundry will definitely be considered. read more

There are no change machines in this location and no washers take credit cards! How do u expect people to do their laundry if they can't get change. This was Sunday Aug 28,2024, i tried to go here to do 4 large loads of Laundry but with no change machine i was stuck. THEN, i looked around n there were more washers OUT OF SERVICE than working! Had to wash large comforters and was not familiar with these larger machines. The lady working there advised me of the best size and detergent amount without making me feel silly. No problems. They have a crazy snack and ice cream novelties selection. A little dangerous when waiting for the spin cycle to be surrounded by these tempting goodies. The parking lot is small but there was available spaces. There was a lot of new and clean coin washing machines available. This was all during the 11 o'clock hour on a Saturday. In and out. There are 3 employees. 2 other employees fold clothes from business orders. 1 Filipino lady who is knowledgeable handles all business orders. She loads laundry into washer and dryer. A change machine to change $1 and $5 bills into $.25. A number of washer and dryer only accepts quarters. 2 kinds of washers top load and regular load. The machine is finicky because it has problems taking quarters. Employee bangs machine. For dryer, there are no specific machines for business orders. $6.00 is needed so your laundry can be fully dried. Some people use at least 2 machines. One guy who I talked to said this place is cleaner than Launderland laundry place on S Beretania. In conclusion, owner of business should modernize place with debit card to load money, assign certain machines for business orders, and get new dryers if not working. read more

Nita rocks! The wash, dry and fold service here saved my bacon big time!! I manage a bunch of vacation rental condos and we recently transitioned from using owned linens to linen and towel rental with United Laundry. The problem? Oh just 25+ large black trash bags filled with dirty linens and towels and nowhere (and no time) to launder them. We had already canceled our former laundering contract before realizing our residual dirty linens would need to be handled. We delivered 6+ bags at a time to them and they were able to wash, dry, fold and neatly bag them up for us! Got ALL LT them done within about a week or so. Was totally worth the drive and cost to do this. Fair pricing. Photos attached to this review are from my storage unit where I have stored these linens and towels. Do Not Come Here!!! This place is super claustrophobic, on top of that the women who work there are unfriendly. Like imma pay $15 to do one load and be side eyed- bitch you got me twisted. This place is a racket!! My grandma works at a laundromat and I have been using them my whole life and this is by far the worst. First thing, laundry in Hawaii is waaay over priced. I see why a lot of apartments come with Washer and Dryers, cause this shit is trifling. PRICES: $2.75 for a basic wash (1 load), 3.25-3.50 for one up then $5.75 for 3 loads. $1.50 to dry for 24 minutes; but they do not get hot. The lady who works there said I need to put in $3 for it to get dry. GURL- 24 minutes on High heat should be enough. So be prepared to spend more. Do yourself a favor and ask an auntie to do laundry at her house, you might even get a meal with it. read more

Needed to wash bulky items my washer can't handle. Live nearby and know a few folks who recommended this place. Decided to run a test with some blankets before bringing throw rugs and comforters. Parking. The lot is small, and with three fast food establishments in the same teeny strip mall cross St. Louis Drive In and Chaminade, the parking lot is often crowded. Not much street parking nearby, either. One thing Google Maps reviews offer is bar graphs of how busy a place is hour by hour. Saturday afternoons looked slow, so went by about 4:30. Lots of open parking spaces and only one other customer in the place. One wash, with one dry cycle and folding, took a little less than an hour, and by 5:30, the lot was filling up. Condition. This place has been open for at least four years. Recall stopping by when it first opened to check it out. It's no longer pristine, but still pretty clean and bright compared to many other laundromats. The split system air conditioning, YES!, AC!, kept the place comfortable. It was late afternoon, when the sun is on the back side of the building. Not sure what morning sun does to the place. At least there is AC, unlike many open air laundromats, which can be hot and dusty. Machines. There's an assortment of washing machines, from smaller top loaders to large front loaders. Smaller machines start at $2.50/wash. Used a larger front loader for the blankets I brought. Chose Basic cycle for $5.25. That's a lot of quarters, but there is a change machine on the wall near the front desk, for customer use only. The Basic wash takes 24 minutes and the screen shows the countdown as well as the phase of the cycle that's happening. Brought my own unscented liquid detergent, which I used very sparingly. Did not see a lot of suds produced, until the rinse. When there were still suds during the second rinse, was a bit concerned. After everything was dry, could smell the perfumes from other detergents used previously. At least it's blankets and not clothing since I find soap residue in clothing to be irritating. Super, Deluxe, and Ultimate cycles cost $5.50, $5.75 and $6.00, respectively. The extra features for each of these wash cycles are not well defined, but one can presume they come with undercarriage rinse and hot wax application? Just Kidding. There's one very large front loader which seems to cost $10.25 to use. Two of the walls support an array of identical dryers, all costing $1.50 for 24 minutes set on High. There is one extra large dryer, but it was in use, so not able to see if the cost was the same. As one Yelper mentioned, the dryers don't get very hot. Opened the door several times to check on the progress, and the blankets felt warm to cool, never hot. After one cycle, they were still damp, so took them home to finish in my own dryer. Unsolicited Advice. Try cutting back on the amount of detergent you use. I do not fill up the cap, as recommended. At home, I use a small measuring cup and a quarter ounce works well on a half load in a standard size washer. A large bottle of liquid detergent lasts over a year. Keeps excess soap out of the water treatment system. But test it and see what works for you. Amenities. One large table and a counter top are available for folding, along with maybe four laundry carts. There are only two stools to rest on, and one was being used by one of the attendants. Would help if they stored a few more stools under the large folding table. The one TV featured the (non-controversial) Food channel. At least it wasn't faux news. The magazine selection was a few People, with one religious pamphlet. The front desk sells an assortment of laundry products and a few other necessities, like toilet paper. There are two vending machines for drinks and snacks. Out of the way by the front door is a combo PacMan console! Wow! Lots of memories of spending lots of yen playing those games in Yokohama-shi back in the day. Other Services. No plans to use these services. The front desk takes in drop off laundry. Appears to be charged by the pound. Comforters have a flat rate based on size. Other Yelpers have shared their thoughts on this service. I'm a DIY-er, especially where my tighty whiteys are concerned. There are also basic alteration services, like hemming. Not sure if they would do more tailoring, like letting out or taking in the seams of a piece of clothing. Recommendation. Would return with bulkier items. But also might try a laundromat with a higher rating just for comparison. Bringing your own amusements will help, something I didn't plan for, not having been to a laundromat for maybe ten years, the Campbell Avenue one. (Why can't you put emojis in these reviews? Munch's Scream would work.) Might want to arrive hungry and go to one of the food shops next door not only to eat, but to sit while waiting. One last note, there are Help Wanted signs posted for an attendant and a driver/cleaner/vending machine stocker. read more

This is one of the cleanest laundromats ever. I guess they have a drop off service here. So there is a very sweet lady that cares for the place. A plethora of washers & dryers. All in working condition. I guess the only issue would be the parking. They are next to Shaloha Pita on 3rd Ave & Waialae Ave. There is about seven or so parking spots that are shared with other businesses. I have been lucky so far. read more

On the island for a week with kids and needed to get some laundry done. The facility is clean and the machines work great. I even was surprised that some of the washes have an express wash, since no one has time to sit at a laundry facility while in Hawaii. The store attendant was friendly and very helpful with my questions in regards to which machine would be best for the laundry I had. They also do a drop off service which I will definitely be using next time. I believe it's around $1.50 a pound which is such a great price. This is now my go to when we're visiting. read more

This is a decent laundromat, but there is little parking, and no places to sit. Sometimes people just tans in the middle of the room and stare while they wait for laundry to finish, but that's to weird for me. The washers that I usually use are 2.50 each. There are many sizes of dryers, and so far I don't understand why nobody but me seems to use the giant one in the middle. It's way bigger, and costs less, like what is everybody else doing? Anyways, some of them require a set amount to start($1.50) and each quarter beyond that adds time, so make sure to put lots of quarters in to maximize the dry time-to-quarter ratio. Had to wash my queen sized comforter and didn't want to break my landlord's washing machine, so found this place on Yelp. It is right next to Shaloha, one of my favorite places for Mediterranean food (even though their falafels are cooked too long IMO). Parking at this little strip center across from Chaminade/St. Louis is always a challenge but I dropped off my comforter on a early morning weekend so had no issues. The laundromat is very clean, well lit, very cool (thumbs up for strong AC!) and smells great. (I must have been a fabric softener huffer in my former life because I LOVE that smell!) Very prompt service - drop off the comforter with the attendant, pay in advance and use your receipt for pick up. It only took two to three days, as I recall. Don't wait too long after the pick up date to get your order as their storage space is limited so if you're lackadaisical with pick up dates (as I was), it jams them up. The lack of good workers is telling. I have been doing laundry here before this present worker was hired. The workers are usually decent and friendly. This one worker knows my routine, but today there was a problem with the wash not starting. She blamed me for not starting the washer, then said if I have a complaint go somewhere else. She also gossiped to another customer that I should stay and watch my laundry. She blamed me for their faulty washers and dryers, but hits the washer when she needed to get the coins in. Instead of correcting the problem her solution is to hit the washer. First time I experience her nasty behavior. She actually laughed when I told her I would report her nastiness to her boss, my classmate. She said go, and laughed. They should hire back the old-timers, pay them well and fire this one. I found myself distressed; my cat peed on my bed, leaving a huge stain on my thick mattress topper that my mom had just given me D: My washing machine could in no way handle washing this topper, so I read the directions that said to let a pro handle it (basically xP). Did a yelp search, and iDo popped up. It was near my workplace and they conveniently do drop offs. Its located across from St Louis school and from St Louis Drive inn. Turn into that corner parking lot; its super tight in there, so large SUVs or truck owners, beware! Its located between L&L and Shaloha. I had a split shift, and ended up dropping the comforter off at around 6p. Because its such a large topper, they said that it wouldnt be done until the next day by noon. Paid for it up front ($14.50 +tax) and was given a receipt and ticket for pick up. Super easy. Went back the next day and it was rolled up in tight packaging, ready. The worker (different lady from the day before), was super friendly and nice but said that they wouldnt be able to do it next time since they dont do feathers. She also advised me to let it air out a little bit since it still smelled "wild" (but it smelled fine when i opened it). She offered to help me out but i politely declined since it was just long but not heavy. Overall: The Good: -Price: I thought I would have to pay a lot more to have it cleaned, but I paid $14.50 +tax for my queen sized topper, which was fine to me. -Service: First lady was alright, but the lady the next day was super friendly -Easy drop off process The Bleh: -Parking: Parking lot was super small and tight. My to-go to laundromat in Waialae, washer range from 2.75-3.75 depending how you want your clothes to be washed. (Powerwash is 3.75, everything else mixed, delegates, eco is 2.75), dryers are 1.50 for 25min which is a pretty good deal knowing some other places are .25 for 3min. Always workers there if you need help always acknowledge the customers coming in :) there's outlets to use by folding table only, cameras and ac and tv and a snack machine, chairs to sit so you can be comfortable while waiting for your clothes to wash/dry. There's subway next store and l&l if you want to grab a bite. Parking structure is small so come early before all the restaurants open. I usually go at 830am. They also sell detergent and dryer sheet if you forgot your detergent :) if you have big bills they can give you change and there's a quarter machine dispenser if you forgot your change :) read more

The prices are good compared to other places. Some of the machines/dryers steal your money. The lady attendants will try to laugh at customers when the machine takes money and they attempt to propose that somehow customers should have known better. You have to direct them to place "out of order" signs as if that isn't the sensible action to take. All this talk of aloha yet it's a childish establishment with old workers who don't have anything better to do than cause problems. If you go here and have an issue, be sure to get your money back because at the end of the day, they're wrong and they know it so they have to do what's right even if you have to break it down for them to understand. Went to this iDo Laundry for the first time, which also happened to be the final night of my visit to see family and friends. Wasn't crowded at all when going in the evening on a Wednesday. There's also a snack bar (or convenience spot) inside the laundromat as well. Parking is extremely limited due to the number of surrounding businesses and this is a small location, but otherwise, it's a good spot to get your laundry done. read more
