This place charges by the pound for drop off service and an additional cost if you want same day return. You won't get the glitzy, glamorous visuals as other places, and the service is as expected. Drop your clothing off and pick it up! I would drop my clothes off, and my clothes would come back clean, folded, and some on hangars. I used to go to Launderland all the time when it was open later into the evening. Always crowded and usually had to wait for machines to become available. I stopped going when they changed their closing time to 6PM. Really ... why does a busy laundromat have to close at 6PM? read more

This place is off of South Beretania Street and they've been here for years. I recently moved into the neighborhood and wanted to try their drop off laundry service. They're pretty affordable for that but their prices vary and they don't have any signs up online or in store. For the drop off service they do by the lb. I got two queen comforters done for $30 and their turn around time is 2 days with a drive through pick up. I also washed and dried my clothes 1 wash is $5 in quarters and their dryer is 25 cents I think it was 10 minutes. Its pretty basic and rinky dink there. There's about 5 parking stalls and I think I read they're open until 7pm on weekdays I talked to the owner for a little bit he seemed cool and the staff are nice, I'm still trying to figure out if I like that place or not lol read more

I have been walking to this laundromat since the beginning since I have no car and it was not too bad until one day, the guy decided to close the store earlier for whatever reason. That made me upset because I did all that walking with my laundry load for nothing and then I had to go to another store and just wasted my whole day because of that. read more

You know how Yelp has these reviews for "hole in the wall" eateries that look dank, and dingsy and dusty, but they find that if they actually go there it's a great deal for what they give you? This is what Launderland is for a laundromat. From the outside the place looks old, run down. Dirty, dusty, cracked pavement on the parking lot, "skeevy" was a good word I saw for this place. But looks can be deceiving. I wanted to get my clothes washed because my washer at home was having some mechanical issues. I actually lived nearby here two decades ago - for those of you new to Hawaii, this place has been here for several decades. The place used to be a full on self-service laundromat, but it has been converted into a laundry service + self-service laundromat. If you're short on time and/or feel kind of lazy, you can have *them* do the laundry - bring in your bag of laundry and give it to the nice aunty who works up front. Of all their competitors, their $/lb of laundry rate is one of the lowest and most affordable. They're supposed to call you if they're done, but considering she was the only one up front, I'm not going to blame her for not calling. I called there myself to ask after 6 hours and she picked up quick and verified my load was ready. Picked up the load. Nice and clean. Didn't have to do the laundry myself. So yes, it looks incredibly run down and out of date, but you also save a ton of money doing your laundry here. People leave you alone but expect to be cooking waiting for your laundry during the summer. Keep your expectations low - ultimately it's a laundromat and it does what you need to do. read more

We have 0 time right now between working and planning our wedding so the laundry has just been piling up. I have always driven by this place and wondered about it so finally making the decision to try it took so much stress off of my plate. We dropped off 5 kitchen trash bags full of clothes, sheets, blankets, and towels off on Friday (all separated). The aunty there was nice and told me it was $1.50 per pound and I could pick up everything in 2 days. I then filled out a slip of paper with my name and phone number, she gave me a pick up slip that had an ID number on it and I left. Two days later I came back and she had all my laundry done and wrapped in new plastic bags plus had some of my clothes on hangers. My total was $113.~ (I forget the cents) but it was totally worth it! I am definitely going to come back. They are definitely a life saver when crunched on time and/or maybe even on the regular if someone has extra cash. read more

Really not too sure why the negative reviews for this place. When the laundry in my apartment broke down, this place was a lifesaver! I used the machines in the front where laundry was $2.50 a load, and the HUGE dryer was 25c per three mins. They have a few change machines inside, and the staff was friendly and helpful when I had a question about the machine. The reviews made me apprehensive but it was just what I needed! read more

Stopped by to do a load of laundry while vacationing in Honolulu. There was a parking lot which was convenient as we waited for laundry to finish in the car. We were out of there in about an hr. It cost me about $5 for one load. The dryers are super hot and it didn't need more than 20 minutes to fully dry my clothes. I didn't have blankets or towels so that's probably why. Josie, an employee here, is NOT WEARING A MASK and was moving our clothes out of the washer without our knowledge right after the load finished. Wife and I set a timer and waited in our car in the parking lot on premises as usual. 35 minutes. When the timer finished and we went to collect our clothes, we see Josie pulling the last or our clothes out of one washer and into our baskets ON THE GROUND! One of the baskets is a wire frame so now my wife's clothes are literally touching the dirty ground after being washed. Josie did not apologize once during our conversation and didn't care. She instead said "I didn't know the basket had pukas". She was the one who grabbed the baskets from the washer and put them on the ground (along with our clothes)! I asked to speak with the manager and she just waived her hand and said "he's around". She avoided looking and talking to me as much as possible. We've been coming here over a year and my wife has even talked with the owner, Howard, at length in the past about this being a family business. It's upsetting to see an apathetic and rude employee, NOT FOLLOWING COVID 19 PRECAUTIONS, messing up a usually decent place. I left my number with her and asked that she have the manager call me. She did eventually offer to wash our clothes again for free, but that's missing the point. Is it too much to ask that you give customers at least a few minutes to collect their things after a load finishes? Is it too difficult to look out the window and ask us to collect our things if you so urgently need the washer? Is it too much to ask you to PLEASE COMPLY WITH COVID 19 PRECAUTIONS? You have signs posted asking customers to do so! And is it too much to ask for an apology? I'd also like to note that when it was crowded here in the past, Josie has never moved someone else's clothes out of the washer for me and instead I've had to wait for the owner to come grab their clothes (and that's not a problem, I'm patient). So why is she suddenly taking it upon herself to unapologetically grab our clothes from the washer immediately after its finished? If safety is a priority for you during this COVID 19 pandemic (as it is for us), I would recommend staying away from this place. read more

VERY RUDE I have been dropping off my comforters at Launderland for years and love the convenience. . I have NEVER EVER been treated so rudely until today. The woman (KUNIA) who helped me (if you can call it that) was so rude to me. She asked if I had a plastic bag for my comforter and I said, "oh no, I don't." She grabbed a plastic bag from the roll sitting on her counter and said, "PUT IT IN DA BAG". I was so shocked at her response, I looked at a gentleman standing next to me and he helped me put my comforter in the bag. When the woman returned, she shook her pointer finger at me at me as if I was a child and scolded me saying, "NEXT TIME PUT IT UM IN A BAG!" I was f'cking furious at this point and said with my finger shaking at her, " NEXT TIME, I WILL" and then said, "YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE SO RUDE TO ME" . Went here to use drop off pivk up services. Cost was way more than quoted me when i got there. When dropping off my laundry woman working there said it would be about $50. Upon time of picking up my laundry, i was charged $83! The woman working, a micronesian lady was so rude, threw my change at me and yelled at me with her finger in my face because i was unhappy with prices that were quoted when i first came in. This place needs to have this woman reprimanded for her HORRIBLE customer service. Also ended up missing a few pieces of clothes and ended up with a few pieces of clothing that were not mine. Smh. I'm really bad about doing my own laundry (combination of insufficient time and laziness) so when I found this place! I could drop off my laundry in trash bags and get them two days later? Perfectly folded and nicer shirts on hangars (no dress shirts unless you intend to iron them yourself, which I did). LIFE SAVED!!!! it's very affordable too! A months worth of laundry AND four large bath towels was $34.02. Saves me about 4 hours, the hassle of lugging around detergent and softener, folding, packing up, etc. totally worth it for me - I'll go weekly now. I would've given a 4 or 5 but the service, well it wasn't horrible, it just wasn't as friendly as I'd like. It was the same woman who took my laundry and gave it back so maybe there are other staff that smile more? Again, she wasn't mean or anything, but definitely did not present herself as someone enjoying their job. read more

They lost half the clothes we asked to have laundered -- called the manager and what response do we get?? He said" we'll call you if we find it"--- don't ever ever go to this place!! I haven't used a public laundromat since college (some 30 years ago) so I was a little apprehensive when I had to take some large blankets and towels to be washed. I went on Yelp to find a decent one and came across a place that I've passed many times before but have never been to.... LaunderLand. There's lots of parking stalls and available washing and drying machines to use. I didn't have enough quarters so I changed my dollar bills to quarters from the friendly employee. It cost me $8 and an hour and twenty minutes to wash my two blankets and two towels. Everyone there seems to want to mind their own business and not want to chit chat which is fine with me. It's like a ritual that has to be done so might as well get it over with. My only complaint is that there's no air conditioning so it's very hot and humid inside. There's a bench outside where you can get fresh air and watch the traffic go by. read more

It's an okay place to do your laundry, but I got lost as to which machines were open and available for public use. Also, they close earlier than most typical laundromats (closure time here at Launderland is 8 PM). Some machines were also out of order. Seems like there are two separate rooms to do the wash and then do the drying. On-site parking is okay. read more

I came in here with laundry galore and the woman looked at me and said "is that all sir", I really thought i was going to be charged an arm and a leg and get horrible service because the place looks kinda sketch but, it was a wonderful diamond in the rough. The turn around service for drop off is two days and that is because someone else comes in and picks up the laundry and they send it to laundry heavy where it is treated with the utmost respect and send back to you with great smells and folded!!! I mean, i don't know what I Was expecting but, folded as nicely as it was was not one of the thoughts. They even folded my underoos. I am so happy with this place and it's service that I would not only use it again I've told many folks about it vice the laundering services available in the hotels. read more

As a single guy I love this place. I just drop off my bag of laundry once a week and pick it up a day later clean and neatly folded and my dress shirts on hangers. $1.35 a pound, 6 lb minimum. Works out to about $8-$11 for a weeks worth of laundry. WELL WORTH YOUR MONEY. The drop off location does not press or dry clean, tho, so don't bring your non-wrinkle free, non-iron dress shirts. read more

As you walk on the sidewalk nearing this place, you can't help but take a deep breath and wonder what you're doing. The place seems pretty...well...shady. The laundromat itself is pretty run down, and not in the nicest neighborhood on the island. As you walk towards the place you just see people sitting on the benches outside, staring at you as you walk in, as you try to look down and not make eye contact, as you think "Am I really washing my stuff here?" However this fear is soon overcome, as the nice ladies greet you and immediately get change for your two one-dollar bills into quarters, so you can use the washing machines. No one gets all up in your face and bothers you here, and they let you do your own thing. As you come here more often, the ladies even talk story, and make jokes with you as they get your change. I tried to call the DRY cleaning section and the phone RANG AND RANG!!! THIS COMPANY DOES NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONE! I kept calling back. After the 3rd call, a woman who could barely speak English, with a thick accent, answered. Decided to try them out for by the pound laundry service. I was pleasantly surprise to have it folded nicely, all the dress shirts have hanger but when I open my bag of folded clothes, I found my blouse with metal chain for the shoulder strap destroy. They didn't say anything, just but all the chains off my blouse, folded it and put it in the bag. I wouldn't have been so piss about it if they had say something but I just find my blouse damaged without any warning. read more

Its a decent place but it closes early and the drop off service is pricey. I thought having them wash 5 blankets for me would have cost much less than $70. This was for regular washing, not dry cleaning. If you have time during the day to use the machines, it will do the job. Don't use drop off service. read more
