I went to this laundromat because my hotel didn't have one, and the other, closer laundromat in Kapahulu was closed for the holidays. The building was definitely older, and appeared pretty dated. The machines did not accept cards, so either show up with cash (they have coin machines) or use the ATM in the gas station across the street. The washing machine that I used had issues with the door locking, and I had to open and close it several times to get it to start. Fortunately, the regular clientele there were extremely nice, and helped me get the machine running. The prices were about what I would expect in Honolulu. $4-4.50 for the washing machine and $1.50 for 16 minutes in the dryer. I had to use the dryer twice, so it worked out to about $3.00. While I was waiting for my clothes, a homeless guy wandered in and asked me for a quarter, which added to the experience. Overall, it wasn't completely terrible, and the machines worked well, but being able to use credit cards would be nice. read more

Horrible experience. The workers are extremely rude. Always on edge and acting like you're going to steal something from them. The place is nasty. I did my laundry there and saw 2 cockroaches behind their machines. The cost is not worth it. It's about $4 or more per load and their washing machines are dirty, never cleaned, with hair inside and barely fit your clothes. All in all, I would say their service is not worth it. You're better off going to a nicer place with cleaner conditions and way nicer people. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. read more

First, it would really be nice to have chairs. Nowhere to sit in the hot, fan-cooled open door laundry while waiting for clothes to wash and dry. Several machines appear to be for their use only. It was overall kind of dirty. But mostly my back is aching now waiting for the dryer ($1.50 for 16 minutes, no smaller increments allowed) to get the clothes dry enough to get out of here. I can't think of a better place to collectively gather Honolulu's finest homeless population and place them at one laundromat. This place is unsafe. The scene is filed with people you would meet in a dark alley in some red light district in a foreign land. The homeless guy without shoes cursing (while my kids are next to me) put me on the defensive. The drug dealers behind the green garbage can doing their thing remind me of SF while the "transient " living in his car out front fail to give me the warm and fuzzy like a well used dryer sheet. The worst part is poor house keeping. The lettering on the dryers are faded - good luck asking the attendant what is considered 'high heat.' All the cook dispensaries have signs that read "out of service." A good portion of the commercial dryers are unserviceable. God forbid you close the washer door without getting yelled at to be 'more "gentle.' Here's a tip: use that unfriendly customer service tone towards making this place safer with updated signage (not written on cardboard) that you can read. Then I might consider visiting this place again but probably not. read more

the ladies who work here are honestly so rude. if u ask for change on 10 or 20s more than once they snap at u and are super unhelpful. not sure why they're there if they don't offer any help. my comforter was caught in the door and i hadn't noticed it asked to pause and fix it they just told me it would come off on its own. it ripped. the ladies that work there are so incredibly bitter, mean hearted. everything u ask them is like a personal attack to them. read more

What a great laundromat I found tonight. The lady who takes care of it, Dana, was so sweet and helpful where the 'Aloha Spirit' is alive and well. I've been to a few laundromats on the Honolulu side and they were not good PLUS they all close about 6pm. Campbell Highlander Laundry stays open until 9pm. I had a lot of laundry and it came out REALLY, REALLY clean. Also. the very large machines are $1.00-$3.00 less than other laundromats. Good location too. We're staying at a local hotel in Waikiki and we decided to find a local drop off laundry service, since the hotel laundry service prices weren't acceptable to us. It's a Sunday and, this morning, the kind laundry attendant here let us know that it might be 24 to 48 hours until our clothes were ready, although she hinted that she might be able to get it to us sooner, due to the volume. Sure enough, she called us in the afternoon to pick up our clothes. Everything was perfectly folded and packed. We are very happy. read more

Walked 20 min to get here, and all washers were used except the ones for the workers to use. Four was sitting unused but the workers wouldn't let me use it in case they wanted to, but they never did I had to wait for one of the others to finish to do my second load. read more

Great local spot. Prices are fair. Quarters only and they have a cash machine to dispense change. It cost us $10.00 total for a big load of laundry wash& dry. As we were there the worker was cleaning and it was clean prior to our arrival. Friendly staff and customers. read more

We had to do laundry and our usual laundromat was closed due to the coronavirus. Saw Campbell Highlander and it wasn't crowded. The first time we did our laundry, I had to throw away 2 articles of clothing since there was gum stuck on it and could not get it out. We tried again the next week and this time we checked the washer and dryer. It looked ok so we proceeded to wash and dry our clothes. Lo and behold, while folding our clothes, my husband had to throw away 2 of his clothes! How can that be??? Oh, and my bath towel has gum in it too. Wtf? We will not be going back! read more

Came here to wash my Queen size comforter. There were many different size washers and dryers to chose from. Chose the size that would wash my comforter the best and started inserting the quarters. When I'm in a bind and need my laundry done, the ladies here do a great job for me. I just drop off my bag of dirty clothes and pick them up the next day (they have a rush service) all clean and folded. Perfect when you're stressing to pack for a trip. I've also brought my huge down comforter here and they've washed and dried with without a problem. It simply doesn't fit in my washer at home so I'm so glad they could help. The only reason why I've been coming here for almost a year now is because it was the only laundromat nearby that I knew off. The place is very old and outdated but it's kept as clean as it can get for the most part. The lady that is almost always there is not very helpful I try to avoid her by bringing $5 and $1 bills so that I won't have to ask for change when I only have a $20. One time after washing a load and taking it out of the washer I realized that the machine didn't spin dry it very well, I decided not to make a big deal out of it (mainly because the lady is kind of scary) then someone else used it, they complained about it and she gave them attitude. This happened again but with a dryer she was really upset that the dryer didn't work and was really rude to those customers. I have found a new laundromat :D read more

Ever since my crap of a neighbors hijacked the only washer/dryer unit for the apartments, I'd been searching for a better place to do laundry. I've had to go to other units to sneak my load in! Luckily, a good co-worker friend of mine told me of this place. So, why I like this place: 1. They have really good washing machines. You pay a little more ($2.75 starting) for the good ones, but it fits a lot. They also have the regular machines you see everywhere. 2. One-size dryer, huge. And you only pay $1 for 16 minutes! That's actually enough time for my load to get done, a full load. I'll use 2 dryers if I happen to be doing sheets, cuz air flow and all. 3. There's always a worker there, always. I just feel safer when I see them there. And they aren't blind to people around them, if they see someone suspicious and just lurking, they go up to them and ask if they're actually going to do laundry. 4. It might be ghetto plastic chair seats, but way more comfortable than the express laundry place that's nearby. 5. They installed a flat screen tv a while back. Sometimes the worker lady will play music, or a movie since it's hooked up to a Roku3. 6. I've never tried, but apparently you can pay them to do your laundry. Convenient! 7. They have coin machines. I hate those stupid pre-load a card thing. And if you only have a $20 and only need $5 worth of quarters, they'll split the money for you. 8. Free wi-fi. Some junk: 1. No air conditioning. They got fans but, ac is always nice. 2. Parking. They actually have some assigned stalls just for laundry people right next to the building, but it's not much. 3. Choose your time wisely. If you go in the morning, go right when they open. Or go before everyone finishes school/work. You'll most likely be guaranteed a parking spot, seats, and machines. I usually go between 9am-11am. This is the only Laundromat that I have been to on the island and I have washed my clothes here 3-4 times. It is not exceptionally expensive and the machines are newer. The dryers are nice and hot. I could not get the Wi-Fi to work the first time I washed my clothes here, so I stopped trying to get online. It doesn't really bother me because I'm there to wash, dry and fold my clothes. There is no bathroom, but Zippy's restaurant is nearby and they let everyone use their restrooms. There are a couple of different ladies who work at this location and both are very nice and friendly. Campbell has a new, HD, widescreen TV and I used its news-on-demand last time I was there. I watched a bunch of new news stories on a channel by AOL called Newsy. It was excellent and featured several great journalists that I hadn't heard of before. Locals use this Laundromat and they are friendly. Unlike my Laundromat in Long Beach, this place said I could wear no shirt while washing my laundry. I was happy with that because it meant one more clean shirt! There is no designated bike parking, but there are two or three poles nearby where you can lock your bike like I do. I like this Laundromat and I intend on returning. In fact, I'll probably go today or tomorrow because I'm out of clean clothes. read more

This review is strictly on the drop off services, since I haven't been here to wash clothes before. Came here for my first time today, because I had to get my comforter washed. Really nice friendly service. There was one lady working today and she was really friendly. Service was really efficient, just had to fill out a paper thing and drop off my stuff. Prices are cheap. For my queen sized comforter was only $20, because I didn't bring my own detergent it was an additional $1 (still not bad at all!). Also, I wanted to have my order done same day I had to pay an additional $5 to "rush my order". So my total was only $26. Not bad at all! Was expecting it to be much more. The place didn't seem to busy, so she only took about 2 hours to get my comforter washed. Which was great. read more

Saw very good reviews of Campbell Highlander Laundry and gave it a try. It is very clean, has newish washers and dryers. Wasn't crowded when we were there. Went to do laundry here and for a place that's been around for so many years, it's really clean and almost all of the machines are new. The prices are the lowest in the area and the ladies who work here are really pleasant and friendly. They let me walk to Rainbows while my clothes were drying. I'm tempted to use the drop off service next time but since they had free WiFi, I kept myself busy on the internet while eating my plate lunch. Apparently a lot of people use the drop off service, maybe bc they're too busy to do their own laundry? Or lazy? Lol. Anyway, the place is really neighborly. People actually talk to each other here. The last time I enjoyed going to a laundromat was over 40 years ago when my boyfriend and I use to pack a cool drink and our cribbage board along with the dirty clothes each week. We were so in love all we cared about was that the clothes came out clean. Now I go as seldom as I can. My landlord provides a washer with cold water, but sometimes I just prefer good hot water for towels and bedding, especially after an illness. Pros: A couple of parking spaces have been added next to the laundromat. It's quite clean. There is an attendant. Sometimes I meet really nice people. Cons: The hot water isn't hot - it's more like lukewarm which defeats my whole purpose. The price for the small washers has gone up to $2.50. The attendant can be brusque, but I'm quite sure it's not personal. It does get hot inside, particularly in the afternoon. Overall, I'm glad they are there. read more

Pretty fast and easy laundry. There is at least 1-2 people from the staff watching all the machines and helping out the customers. I was in and out fast even though it was quite busy and the laundromat is clean. They also sell detergent for $1 which is a plus! read more

So this was pretty much like ever Laundromat you can go to. Run down and kind of rough looking. But the price of washing and drying is reasonable to that is my main reason for going here. They also have free Wi-Fi so you can use that while you do laundry. Helps pass the time :). They also have a flat screen TV that they play movies on so something else for entertainment. It costs 2.50 for the average washers and 2.75 for the new ones per load but they are big so its not bad. It costs $1 to dry per load but it dries for 16 mins so you don't have to do it multiple times which is helpful. I normally only do one load per week so about $3.50 to do all of my laundry for one week. The location is ok...some street parking is available but no parking lot. They also have a worker on site that you can leave your things with and they will wash them for you. Costs a little bit more but if you don't have the time to do it yourself it would still be worth it. Ive been to a few different places on island and this is one of my favorites.
