PARKING: lots of parking up but at night it's very dark in the parking lot. SERVICE: I don't remember when the last time I ever had to go do my laundry at a laundry mat, maybe when I was in middle school. Can someone tell me why it's $5 to wash for only 20mins & to dry a normal size load it's probably another $4-5! That is CRAZY! & im a family of 5 so yea I had to do multiple loads. I rarely come to any laundromats. But has to come here due to our washing machines not being available at home. I like how this laundromat is open 24/7, perfect for anyone who works late and needs to get laundry done. Price wise - bigger washes are $6 and regular is $5. Dryers are 25cents for every 4 minutes. I used the bigger wash for 1 load of laundry and the bigger dryer to dry them as well. I spent $3 on the dryer for 35 minutes on HIGH HEAT. I also forgot my fabric softener and dryer sheets. I'm glad they had a little vending machine to purchase any of your laundry needs if you forget any. They were all priced at $1.25. Overall not bad... Laundromat is located within the Kapālama plaza. Despite what the address says you will not find the laundromat. Entrance is on Dillingham. I don't have much experience at a laundromat but had to get to one when housesitting for multiple cats and dogs and the washer was broken. Looked at the reviews before coming. Wasn't sure what to expect. $6 for 25 minutes in the large washing machine. You can choose regular or large load. $6 a large load is pretty steep- but I was washing heavy duty dirty load so it wasn't too bad- especially since it only took 25 minutes. In a bind, great! But it took me awhile to get to the location because it was located in the plaza but address was the street behind the plaza. read more

Kapalama Laundromat is clean and surprisingly not busy for a late Sunday afternoon. They have only front load washers that cost $5 per load and larger ones for $6 per load. Limited laundry supplies are available in case you forgot your personal supplies. Dryers look the same as any other place. They do have a change machine that does not have a fee. I've been to several that actually charges for you to make change. Overall, great place to do laundry with it being open 24/7. Many places to eat or get refreshments nearby. read more

Great launderette! CUE VIOLIN MUSIC...Unfortunately, my 14 year old stacked laundry center in my condo broke down and my new one will take a month to arrive. I took 2 loads of laundry to Salt Lake Laundromat to find out THEY HAVE CLOSED. Panicked, because my son was out of his school uniform, I frantically searched on Yelp to find the only one open late was Kapalama Launderette. I ventured into the heart of Kalihi and arrived to find a pretty clean looking laundromat. The people ranged from normal to sketchy. The sketchy people kept to them selves and tried their best to act normal in the well lit laundromat. People minded thier own business and were pretty polite in the small shop. The wash was $6 but note- it has a 3 load capacity. The dryer was large and strong. The cost for drying was 25 cents per 4 minutes. This is a no frills laundromat- no fun vending machines, just strictly a coin exchange machine and laundry supply machine. It seems they want you to do your laundry and get the heck out. read more

I would like this place more if they had laundry carts. You literally have to carry your wet laundry to a dryer because they have no carts. The place is small so you constantly brush against someone or have to repeatedly pardon yourself as you pass other patrons. I go here because I feel it is in a safe location as opposed to a few of the other laundrymats I have been to on O'ahu. This laundrymat is in a fairly large plaza that has many eateries. They have new washing machines, a coin dispenser, detergent/dry sheet dispensers, and a vending machine for patrons. Great for last minute chores; you can also grab a later dinner (or lunch depending what time you go) at Zippys or the other surrounding food eateries. First time doing laundry at a laundry-mat EVER and I gotta say, it was quite the adventure lol. My washer/dryer at home isn't working properly so for the time being, I need to wash my blankets and judo gis. I come here and for some reason it felt a little intimidating because there was a lot of people and they had their own fold up chairs and wagon or dolly to wheel their laundry bags or basket out lol. Fortunately, there was a lot of machines and they were huge too. In my opinion, it was pretty pricey at $5 per wash and $0.25 per 4mins for the dryer. I had like 4 load of blankets and judo gis for the washer, and 2 loads for the dryer. Thankfully the machines are huge because this would've been about at least 7 loads in my own washer/dryer. You don't have to change the filters out because I guess staff does that. The directions are very simple and there're instructional signs posted for you just in. The washer took about 15-20mins per wash and about 45mins for the dryer. There're a lot of parking. There's no staff there that I've seen, but a lot of cameras. I would highly recommend bringing your own laundry detergent and fabric softeners. What's very convenient is that there's a coin dispenser at the back of the room so you can conveniently make change. read more

DONT NOT GO HERE TO WASH CLOTHES! If I could give 0 stars I would! My boyfriend and I washed our clothes yesterday around 130pm, we spent over $30 on washing and drying our clothes. I brought my clothes out of dryer #30 and they had black lines and rips all over my clothes! I called the number that was posted on the wall, I left a few voicemails and they have not called me back. I called them again today and it says their voicemail is full. I knocked on the door to their office and no answer even when I seen the lady go in the back right after she took out the trash. I come here often to wash my cloths. because the laundry mat in my apartment building keeps having bed bug infestations so I won't use them anymore. It costs extra to come here but the machines are bigger and I can get a lot done for a shorter amount of time. I've gone to many laundry mats around the island and this one is by far the cleanest and best maintained. Their machines breakdown but the next time I come they're always up and running again. They don't have needless signs all over the place w broken machines and puddles of dirty water on the floor. Every time I come, sometimes very early in the AM to beat the crowds someone is always sweeping and emptying the trash bins. They don't slack unlike other laundry mats I've been to. read more

So happy to know there's a laundry place that's open 24 hrs. Since Kapalama Shopping Center had their renovations, this laundry place updated their washers and dryers. A couple more dollars than I paid for at another laundry, but since they are new equipment I know I'm getting a good quality wash. I absolutely enjoy the coin dispenser for those who don't have the courage to ask for coins to do laundry at convenient stores (me). There is also detergent and softener dispensers as well. After washing clothes, the clothes were fine after we wash it but after we dry the clothes there were found to have black ink all over our kids clothes. We check all the clothes if their were a pen or marker in the clothes but their was nothing in there. read more

This laundromat is wonderful! They have four giant (four hampers) washers and four even bigger dryers. A giant load costs $6 and takes 26 minutes on the warm water setting. A giant dryer costs $0.25 per four minutes. I can fit two to three weeks of laundry in one giant dryer and when set on the hot setting, it dries in about 30 minutes. They have 14 triple load (three hampers) washers and 36 triple load dryers. The triple load washers cost $5 and the triple load dryers also cost $0.25 per four minutes. If you're hungry, there are plenty of eating establishments around including a Zippy's, Ahi Vegetable, The Aloha Sub, Dairyu Ramen & Curry, Elvin's Bakery, Ono Korean BBQ, Violet's Grill, Wing Stop, Bob's BBQ and Taco Bell around the corner, among others, or you can get a haircut at SuperCuts and Grace Barber Shop. The only downside is that it can get busy and it gets really hot because there is no A/C. read more

BAD SERVICE!!! My husband went to the place to dry the clothes last Sunday (7/24/16). When he went home I suppose to fold all the clothes and realized that all the clothes of my baby were RUINED. Get rips, holes and black lines on all the baby clothes,blankets, my pajamas too. My husband called the place since sunday but only voicemail and he even went yesterday to complaint. He spoke with the (he think) assistant or the maintenance person. He showed the clothes and complaint. The person said it is not the machine. He even blamed other people. He said maybe the last person used the machine did put something to ruin other people clothes. I did filed a complaint today at BBB. I was really upset because all the clothes are new.
