I wasn't sure if I would like Manhattan Bagel at first because it's a chain. Growing up in the area, there were/are a bunch of local bagel spots, but I'm glad that I tried MB out for the first time recently. I've stopped in a couple of times since and can say I'm a fan. I still support local bagel shops and prefer them, but I can also appreciate the convenience of a place like Manhattan Bagel. One of the pros is that you can order on the app and pick up. Great when you are strapped for time. I'm a fan of the farmhouse (grilled egg, bacon, ham, cheddar and country pepper cream cheese on a cheesy hash brown gourmet bagel - that's cheese on cheese!). I also think the lox on an everything with capers is pretty good here. The MB coffee is pretty good as well. read more

I ordered the simplest thing possible, a PLAIN bagel from a BAGEL shop and they managed to get strawberry jam on it because they decided not to clean their utensils. There's just no reason to go here when a handful of other breakfast and bagel places are nearby. I would rather drive 20 mins out of my way to eat somewhere else. I had to wait approximately a thousand years for my order. They had to re-toast my bagel because they started doing 3 other more complicated orders for people who weren't even in the store. I was starving as usual and noticed the only place near by was McDonald's so I was making my way to McDonald's and then I saw this bagel spot and instantly changed my mind. I got the farm house bagel breakfast sandwich and a caramel chiller coffee. I don't eat pork so they substituted the ham for turkey and the bacon for turkey bacon. The bagel was warm and freshly made I ate half and was full. The coffee wasn't great but drinkable lol (mostly syrup no coffee) I did get a stomach ache after. Place was clean I think the owner or manager who ever he was kept wiping every table after each customer left, he checked that the inventory was fresh, vacuumed the floor,they wore gloves and face mask while preparing the food. I like manhattan bagel. This place is about 2 years old. The seating area is a bit small and it's by the door. They do have 3 tables outside when the weather is nice. I like the seating in roseland better but the staff is nice and friendly. Good place to meet a friend. Parking can get full- need to be careful backing up because it's busy. Convenient location. They have added a few new menu options with avocado which are good. I first had these bagels and pastries as they used to cater breakfasts at the apartment complex I was living in but since moving, I had a chance to wander in here willingly to be disappointed by my experience. I've been twice, at the location across from zoo. Got it? You must wait in one line to order, then go to another line to pay. So annoying! Bagels are chewy and bagel sandwiches are very small. They ask if you want fruit or potato salad. I've never gotten what I ask for. They don't mark sandwiches so if you are with friends you won't know what sandwich is what. I was trying to decide whether to give 3 stars for the decent taste, or 2 stars for the lack of ingredients. So I decided to just be nice. This review is more for the owner..listen to your customers owners for more and better business. So I ordered online a bagel sandwich that was supposed to contain scrambled eggs , swiss cheese, and turkey bacon on a poppy bagel. Instead I received a "fried egg" and some processed looking yellow cheese. I don't eat a lot of yellow cheese. It has way more fat and calories than white cheeses. OK, so now we get to this part ... It tasted decent. The inside of the bagel just a little too mushy. HOWEVER.. Why are you charging $5.99 + tax for 1 bagel, with what appears to be 1 egg. I am not sure if it was a real egg. and 2 pieces of turkey bacon. I am not sure how much cheese because I could not tell where the egg ended and the cheese began. I CANNOT STAND a cheapskate sandwich..WHAT'S the point of that? I don't get it. A major part of the sandwich is WHAT is in it. That's why places like Katz Deli in NY, Coopers and Sandwiches Unlimited was in business for like 50 years. because they give you actual food inside of the bread. This would have been a pretty good sandwich (for that price too) if it actually had a customary amount of ingredients in it. And why do you advertise a particular sandwich and send something totally different. That's weird. I am going to be weird and rate everything 1-10. Stopped here for a quick bite to eat with my wife while visiting family. We love getting bagels when in New Jersey because there are very few places near where I live in MA/RI. Comparing to Dunkin Donuts, coffee and bagels are way better... but compared to non-chain bagel shops (who make them fresh in house)? No comparison. I live near here, so they sent a mailer with coupons to use for the weeks following their opening. The staff and manager at the time didn't seem to know how to ring me up (I asked for a flavored cream cheese instead of plain cream cheese per the offer), and the manager was kind of rude to his employee. He was overcharging me by 10¢ and his employee was trying to explain that to him- it was so awkward I just wanted to get out of there! I am familiar with Manhattan Bagels as they have a location in Media, PA where I visit often. The bagels there are terrific. They come close to being almost as good as those at Absolute Bagels (top rated) on the Upper West Side in NYC where I used to go before moving to W.Orange recently. Anyway, the bagels here are tasteless and the inside is too airy/bready; not the consistency of a good bagel. I was looking forward to Manhattan Bagels opening in W. I absolutely love this place! The breakfast sandwiches are SO good! I normally order a bacon, egg & cheese on a croissant and it never disappoints. The coffee is self-serve which is great because I like adding my own sugar and cream. I've tried a few things off of the menu and I loved them all. I've never tried their bagels so I can't comment on them. The staff is very friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you're pleased with your experience there. You order in one line and pay at another one which is weird but things tend to run pretty smoothly. They normally get crowded during peak hours but they get you in and out. You can dine in if you want and they also offer outside seating! Woo hoo!! Got kids? No problem! They have highchairs and a very clean bathroom which is always a plus when you have kiddies. The parking lot in the front can be a challenge, but they do have parking in the back of the strip mall. MB is my new favorite go to spot for a quick breakfast/lunch! read more

I live down the street from this location and I was apprehensive to go, because I did not enjoy a bagel I had at one other store. My daughter loves bagels, so I finally gave in. I ordered the cheesy BBQ chicken sandwich, a muffin, bagel with cream cheese and an iced coffee. The place was very modern and clean, including the restrooms. There was plenty of seating at 11:30 on a Thursday. The food was as expected. It wasn't amazing, but I consider this chain a step up from a dunkin donuts, so for that level of food it was satisfying. The only thing was the cold brew that I ordered was extremely thick and something about it was off. I asked the person behind the counter if that was a normal consistency and she agreed it wasnt, and upgraded to my drink to the next size up with a fresh cup. I try not to leave negative reviews, but this one needed to be shared. I frequently visited this location over the last few months, but no more after yesterday. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and a coffee. As I'm standing near the coffee station, I notice that of the 4 women behind the counter making orders, one of them was making orders WITHOUT ANY GLOVES ON. I'm looking at this woman's bare hands grab bagels from the toaster and rub the crumbs on her apron. Then she proceeds to spread cream cheese on the bagels still without gloves. I'm watching as the 3 other women are all talking around her. No one said a thing or cared at all. I watched the interaction for a bit hoping one of her coworkers would say something to her, but nothing. She just kept making orders with bare hands. I pointed out to the cashier the fact that she was making food without gloves on. It was only then the women started screaming "Nina, Nina no no". Then they started making the orders over again. I told the cashier I was disgusted and didn't want the bagel anymore. She seemed annoyed that I said that. Didn't offer me a refund, just a nasty glare. This place was the definitely of meh. It was clean and the food was OK - nothing wrong with it, but pretty bland. It tasted like a deli in a small airport in the middle of nowhere, not "Manhattan Deli" food located a few miles from New York City. The menu was surprisingly limited. I just went there today I had Nova Scotia salmon on a plain bagel which was on their breakfast menu very tasty the windows were very clean on the outside and a display cases for the food even though cold show with parfaits and fresh fruit and salads all look palatable.
