Came at 11:30am, ordered 2 sandwiches, a coffee, and some chips: $22.
We got the Farmhouse and I decided to try something new with the Breakfast Cheesesteak. Little did I expect this would be the worst cheesesteak I've ever had, *literally* worse than the $2 cheesesteak I'd get in grade school for lunch. Like this is probably one of the worst sandwiches I've ever had; calling this a cheesesteak and even charging $7 for it is pretty insulting to cheesesteaks.
Let's start with the punchline: it came on a plain, circular roll... They advertise it with photos like a regular lengthwise cheesesteak, so I was pretty surprised when I got it and opened up the foil... And given how a cheesesteak is made, how the meat, cheese, onions, peppers, etc are sliced and how everything mixes, a circular roll really does not work and is not the same experience...
But on top of that, it was like 80% egg, 10% onions, and the remaining 10% steak. Like the steak only filled like a quarter of the circular roll, I kid you not. And it was just a few larger slices, not like a cheesesteak at all.
Then the cheese was only on the top basically. And the eggs, which, to repeat, made up 80% of this "cheesesteak", were some of the the dryest eggs I've ever eaten. Like I don't even know if there was any pepper on them, but I have never thought onions were so refreshing until I ate these eggs and occasionally got a bite with onion.
Not joking, my breakfast partner felt so bad for me that we switched bread and eventually switched half of our sandwiches. She took a bite and said "why is this so dry?? is there anything on these eggs?". She took another small bite and looked disgusted. We decided to throw out the more than quarter of the "cheesesteak" that was left. We typically hate throwing out food, but this was exceptionally bad.
If you want a poor excuse for a sandwich, you can go to QuickChek across the street. It'll cost you a third of the price at least. But to be honest, I'm not even sure QuickChek could make such an awful "cheesesteak"...
You can also get a much better and surprisingly decent cheesesteak with a lot more meat for the same cost at basically any Subway.

That's the meat of the review, but like the "cheesesteak", there's more dry eggs to be had.
When we first got there, we stood by one of the registers where we usually order for a few minutes while one of the cooks looked at us and said nothing. So we asked one of the other workers across the room if they were gonna take our order and they told us to go to the other register... not sure why the cook didn't say anything...
We finally order and wait around for a bit (half the folks waiting weren't wearing masks, so this was a bit nerve-wracking). Some minutes go by and the woman who took our order calls me up. I thought it was ready but it turns out they're out of the bread for the Farmhouse... It was kind of a fancy bread and they gave us a less fancy one with no concessions, but ok...
The cook in the back sounded like he was saying they didn't have the bread for the cheesesteak either, but the woman told him to shush and didn't mention it...
Thought maybe they found the bread, because what are the chances they're out of two different breads a few hours before closing, right?? Right?? Clearly I did not expect to be so wrong...
If they had actually asked me if the circular roll for a "cheesesteak" was ok, I would've told them no, because that's not a cheesesteak nor how cheesesteaks work... And I would've replaced it with my usual, the Ranchero Wrap... But they didn't ask and gave me this insult to cheesesteaks instead...

I've never liked this location since they moved from their old place in Wedgewood Plaza and changed the way they make things (used to always get the Ranchero Wrap and loved it; regretfully get the poorly mixed, less flavorful version now), but my family still likes going here as there aren't many interesting breakfast places in town. I prefer the one in Totowa if we are going to go, the Ranchero Wrap tastes better there and they've got more space and less people (particularly relevant in this day and age).
But this meal was really the cream of the crop and particularly bad, enough that my family thought it was awful too. read more
