I was so disappointed this summer. I was in New Jersey and I had been waiting to have my customary bagel and it turns out the business was on vacation and I went to get my bagel in the morning and they were closed! So this time I was very excited that they were open and I got my favorite toasted sesame bagel with lox cream cheese spread. Their lox spread is so good. It makes my eyes roll to the back of my head and there is nothing like a North Jersey/New York bagel. There is just no comparison here in PA that I have found. This place also has great iced coffee. You just order the cup size you want and they fill your cup with ice and hand you the cup and then you go to the iced coffee dispenser and fill up your cup and they have four different types of syrup you can put in along with skim milk, 2% and cream. Their coffee is very smooth and not bitter at all. They make bagel breakfast sandwiches and you can of course get the local Taylor pork roll sandwich too. I noticed that this time they now have touchscreens for credit card orders. But you can still order from a cashier because if you pay cash, you don't have to pay a 3% credit card charge. The parking lot out front is very small, but if you turn into Kenny Place where the Crowne Plaza hotel is, you can actually park behind the bagel place and then just walk around the front. They get quite busy but they are quite efficient in their service. And I enjoyed my bagel eating it bite bite bite on my long six hour journey home. read more

They have completely changed everything. Looks like they are trying to cater to uber eats and DoorDash instead of customers. They have removed many breakfast items from the original menu. Being gluten free, I asked them to make me an order of eggs and they said they could not do that even though they are making eggs for bagels? They were not willing to work with a customer and said they had no options for me. This was not during a time where they were flooded with customers. No one else was there and all the employees were standing around. Also they still have plastic in front of them so it's hard to hear even in an empty setting. I thought Covid was over. Overall, it has gone downhill over the years. Sad to see. This place used to be good. read more

What just happened is a shame. This place has really good bagels and I have been coming here for about 7 years. Never had an issue. But, I always bought a loaded bagel, coffee, etc. I have been on a low fat, low carb diet for a while now in order to lose some extra pounds. And, being successful I thought to spoil myself with a bagel. When I got there I asked for a garlic bagel, scooped and toasted. The young lady behind the counter had to ask, "Are we allowed to do that?" I was quite surprised that she had to ask permission to toast a bagel. It became apparent, after speaking with either the owner or the manager, that they would NOT accommodate my request. I can only assume it was because I was not getting a topping on my bagel. Every other time I have been there getting my bagel scooped and toasted was not a problem at all when I was buying more than just a bagel. Maybe it was the enormous extra effort, cost and time it would take to toast the bagel. I don't know and don't care. It was not a lot to ask. Maybe the "boss" was in fear of the thousands of people who might flock in and want only a toasted bagel without topping which would certainly ruin his business. Again, I don't know. Having been in the Restaurant business for the past 50 years tells me that this place knows nothing about hospitality service. Again, it's a shame but I will never go there again and will tell everyone I know (and I know hundreds in this area) not to spend their money there. Sorry. read more

Visited Midland Bagels as it was located adjacent to our hotel. I am not a big fan of bagels, but my everything bagel with two eggs, sausage, and cheese was tasty. I only ate half of it though because it was Thanksgiving and I didn't want to ruin my appetite. The service is top notch. These people bend over backwards to get your order taken and to make your order fast. They pumped through a line of customers in no time. And the orders were correct. Stopped by Midland Bagel for a quick bite while in Jersey. I couldn't miss the place ... there was a line out the door! When that's the first thing I see, I'm thinking, 'this is a place I gotta try'. Parking up front was all taken and the side street was also out of the question so I parked in a lot in the back. Now let's get to the good part .. the food. I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese on a roll and my son ordered a garlic bagel with scallion cream cheese. I throughly enjoyed my sausage, egg and cheese. I was quite happy (not gonna lie) when I saw that Midland wasn't cheap with the sausage as they put 2 sausage pattys in the breakfast sandwich. My son's only complaint was that there wasn't enough scallion cream cheese in the bagel ... but I'm not going to take a star away knowing that the amount of cream cheese given was enough for a regular person, not a growing 14 year old who loves scallion cream cheese. My boyfriend and I have been eyeing this spot since we moved to the area almost 2 years ago and finally made our way over. Our order included a Toasted Sesame Bagel with Scallion Cream Cheese, a Plain Bagel with Cinnamon Raisin Cream Cheese, and a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on a Croissant. I had the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on a Croissant and I personally loved it. The eggs weren't too runny or too overcooked and the bacon was crunchy. Pretty straightforward. 1000x better than a Dunkin or Starbucks sandwich. I love how you can order online and pick up your order in a device that keeps the orders warm. I'll update my review when I try that! The only downside is that parking is a bit tricky. We saw a bunch of people park on the side street and that seems like the way to go if you don't want to deal with the exiting on the main road. We will be back! read more

Now I hate cheating on The Bagel House in Kearny but we were in the area and my boyfriend drools every time he thinks about Midland Bagels. This is his favorite breakfast spot. We'll just have to learn to live with our differences! Lol. I'll admit, their bagels themselves are delicious. They're fluffy but dense and huge, all signs of great bagels. Where mine fell short was the veggie cream cheese. I love a tangy delicious cream cheese chock filled with tiny minced veggies. This one was just lacking, so skip it. A plain cream cheese will still be great on their delicious bagels. We also got a tuna wrap, it was fresh and tasty. My boyfriend got a Taylor ham egg and cheese bagel and it looked great too. She tried to hand me the receipt and I told her it was okay and I didn't need it. She blankly said "your order number is on it" and I didn't hear her and told her it's okay and she rudely said it again with an attitude. Bagel with cream cheese is almost $5.00. I don't mind paying it but I really don't appreciate her attitude. My coworkers and I all work a few blocks away and everyone I work with all says the same thing- decent food but not worth the rude girl that works there in the morning. I'll start this review by saying this place has the best bagels in the area. If you're looking for a dozen bagels and cream cheese, this is your spot. However, the inconsistency with orders is driving me away from this place. The past 3 times we've gone, there has been an issue with our orders if we get sandwiches or multiple different bagels. These are my last 3 experiences here. 1. Ordered a bacon egg and cheese on an everything and an egg and cheese on an everything for my wife who's a vegetarian. (We liked this place because we know they use a separate grill for just eggs). With that said, there were bits of bacon in her egg sand which when we ordered these two simple sandwiches. 2. We got half a dozen bagels, an egg sandwich and a bagel with scallion cream cheese. Got all the way home to notice they did not put the bagel with cream cheese in the bag. 3. We went today to get 2 egg sandwiches, one bacon egg and cheese with extra Taylor ham (a $9.15) sandwich and an egg and cheese. Get all the way home to see there is no bacon on the sandwich despite being charged for the extra meat, and even with the wrapper of the bagel saying (bacon). (See pictures below) Honestly I'm tired of driving back there twice just to have my order corrected. If you really want a sandwich or have multiple orders I HIGHLY recommend double checking your order in the parking lot before you drive away. To top it off, if you call the store there's nobody to speak to as it just redirects you to their website to place and order. So unfortunately I had to come here to leave a review. read more

Best breakfast sandwich by my office! Possibly everywhere. Better than Manhattan Bagel, Bagels Base, and Dunkin Donuts. Even better than Bagels on the Hudson in Hoboken. Got the hungry man sandwich with cheese. It's got eggs, roast beef, home fries, and cheese! And it smelled so good! I suspect the potatoes were cooked in butter. I could barely resist them on my drive back. Also picked up an order of chili cheese fries. They were good too. They use shredded cheddar and their own chili. The chili was thick and meaty with plenty of beans, just the way i like it. They also have something called boomboom sauce on the back counter. It tastes like relish, hot sauce, and mayo. I like it. The shop is a lot bigger than the pictures show. It actually has seating for a little over 10 people inside, and a bathroom. Definitely coming back. read more

I just had the absolute best bagel with cream cheese and lox that I ever had in my life! I moved from NY/NJ to the south and was passing through after my vacay for a business meeting.
