    Mango French Toast Turkey Sausage
    Brit W.

Loved it! Popped in on a Wednesday to check it out before Hampton HC festivities kicked off. It was just before noon and not crowded, but the lunch crowd began making its way in over the next hour. Service was friendly, attentive and prompt. I was immediately seated. I had mango mimosa, mango French Toast and the turkey sausage and loved everything! The flavor and seasoning of the French Toast allowed me to enjoy each bite. The turkey sausage was homemade patted and had a good balance of seasoning; not spicy nor salty. And the decor is beautifully done and very delightful to see upon entering. This is a must try if you are in the area! I'm glad yelp sent me!

Perfect brunch date and how cool that they were on Shark Tank. Went here twice-- first time with the bestie, second time on a couples date. Such a fun time for everyone! I cannot get over their mango preserve! Loved it with the fruits. Everything we ordered was delicious. We got the chesapeake benedict (yum!), chicken fried benedict, shrimp & grits, sledge skillet (amazing presentation), croissant basket, and a flight of virgin mimosas. It can get busy on the weekends so be sure to go early. Around noon on Saturday, it was about a 40 minute wait. The next Saturday, we were there at 10 am and were seated instantly. Definitely coming back and bringing more friends.

Food was seasoned to perfection! Service was quick and full of recommendations. The place is cute and cozy. I truly enjoyed my visit and will definitely return!

This was my first time visiting it. We went for a restaurant week and I was very pleasantly surprised! The food was excellent. We had the set menu that came for lunch for restaurant week. It was a lovely salad, shrimp and grits and a beignet for dessert. We also ordered the mango mimosa which was delicious.. The service was wonderful. Our server was very attentive, even though it was very busy. The ambience was really fun with lots of bright orange all over the place in this old beautiful house down in Phoebus. I will definitely go again.

I stopped in for a quick bite and a beverage of the alcoholic persuasion. I wanted a speciality drink that was in their menu board but was told it wasnt available. So I ordered a mango mimosa and the crawfish beignets. I had a small wait for my food because they were making them fresh. They were light and fluffy with a delightful tangy filling and they didn't skimp out on the crawfish. I do wish there was a bit more filling since not every bite had filling or sauce. The restaurant was open and full of natural light which was a very comforting feeling. If you are in the area it is definitely worth a detour.

Came here try out their Cajun dishes and ordered the gumbo. It was good. Looking forward to coming back for their shrimp and grits.

I have been wanting to try this place for years, but I've been putting it off. I finally went and I was surprised with the prices of the food compared to the quality. The prices are expensive but the food does not have exceptional favor and it's a very limited menu--except the beignets. The beignets were a delight--not Cafe Du Monde's, but the best beignets I've had in VA. The crab Benedict was very underwhelming--expensive with very little crab. The chicken fried chicken was decent, expensive for it not to come with a side. I would return to try dinner.

When I first walked in, I came from the back and it was a little offputting because I didn't know. I'll be in the back of the restaurant. As far as how narrow the space was, they didn't really have any clear " go to the front sign" so I wasn't sure if I should've gone to the bar. Again, this is really just based on how the layout is. The server came and asked me if I had a reservation and I told him yes someone who came in about five minutes before me and put one in he was kind of arguing with me that they don't do same-day reservations and I was telling him she literally just came in and put it in. anyways, once in the front checked, it's in there. He's like your table will be about five minutes. OK, no problem. I found my party. We end up walking around the area. Once we came back to the restaurant, we were seated now based solely on the Food-to-price ratio. It is on the pricier side for the amount of food you are getting. I did see some people had fried chicken entrée which looked very filling however, I got the Chesapeake Benedict as my main course and I added a side of andouille sausage and that was eight extra dollars. ..... again what I got compared to the cost doesn't balance out that much for me. The food was good however, someone else on my table got fried fish with grits. And the grits look super plain for a restaurant that is Creole-inspired.

Have you ever had NeoSoul rolls? Me neither, until today! They're bomb! In short, it's your soul food favs ( greens, rice, black eye peas, Mac & cheese, etc.) wrapped and fried into an egg roll. Doesn't sound good, does it? Well I'm here to report, don't knock it until you've tried it. I really enjoyed those NeoSoul rolls especially pairing the with their mango lemonade. My daughter ordered their chicken sandwich and she gave it a 10/10! All of their food was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The service was good and the ambiance was clean and cute. I couldn't give 5 stars because my NeoSoul rolls took awhile to come out. My daughter was almost finished with her meal by the time I got mine... but the rolls were worth the wait!

04/2024 This place never misses on the food, honestly the consistency of the food for brunch is just amazing. Kudos! I had the shrimp n grits which I've had since my 1st visit and it was delicious as per usual. Even the cup of gumbo was still tasty. Ended the meal with the must have beignets. My friends had the chicken with French toast and they both loved it. I just wish they would expand and get a bigger location, the only thing that keeps me from this place is the wait times because of the small seating space.

Came to VA for a wedding and wanted a niice AM snack. Mangos was such a clean little restaurant with a beautiful ambiance and staff. The mussels were PEI mussels in this amazing Cajun creole broth that was absolutely decadent. The broth was an amazing new taste for mussels. I will definitely be back whenever im.back in Virginia. The most palette seducing item was the peach beignet for dessert.

Stopped here on our way back to northern Virginia Sunday to try their brunch! So the surrounding area looked a bit sketchy but don't let that keep you away! The restaurant was vibrant both outside and inside. It was clean and welcoming with colors matching its name! Their menu looked awesome and I wish I could have tried more items! Our server was attentive and polite. The only thing I would approve on would be the sweet tea and coffee, both tasted watered down: But not a big deal at all. We ordered the fried chicken and French toast and the fried fish with grits! We cleaned our plates...it was that good! Full of flavor and fried perfectly. Mine came with some of their signature mango preserves which was absolutely divine. I had to order me a full jar to take home! We will definitely be bringing our kids with us next time!

How much does lunch usually cost?

    $13-16

What's a good time to arrive for breakfast on Saturday? Is there usually a long wait?

Arrive as close to opening as you can. Often their wait later on will exceed their operating hours and they will turn people away hours ahead of time.

But do they have bottomless mimosas?

No but they have mimosa flight with 4 different flavors and full mimosas not just a small one. BUT it's $24 bucks

It's high-end, which I barely touch due to pricing, but it does not hurt to try something new. Let's see how the evening went. After our entire party arrived, we were all promptly seated. Inside, the decor is perfect. From the bar to the dining area, everything was spotless. You can tell the staff really cares about keeping the place tidy. And they had New Orleans-style music playing through the sound system. Very relaxing. After looking through the menu, I was ready to place my order. I chose their fish special, which was salmon with veggies and a sauce (forgot the name). This dish was very good. It was probably the best cooked salmon I've ever had. When you see seafood with the perfect crust and a lot of flavor, you're in heaven. It did have a small bone and I felt it lacked the amount of squash and zucchini, but again, a wonderful meal. There was one situation which resulted in only a 4-star review. Out of curiousity, I saw on Facebook that they offered $5 discounts. I did let my party know and we were all ready to use them when the bill was ready. But the staff told us the discount was to be used on a table rather than an individual ticket. When we looked both on Facebook and our personal emails, none of that verbage was mentioned. Not trying to sound harsh, but please be sure to state every detail foe customers. We do want to find ways to save some cash out of our wallets. Except for the discount mishap, the visit turned out well. I can say I'll be back to give them anothee go-around. Till next time :)

After a couple minutes, no one greeted us so I had to literally find someone to seat us. After I walked over to get someone's attention, a server found us a seat and wiped down the table for us. We were given some time to look over the menu and we decided to start with drinks and appetizers. We ordered the Dolce Vita Margarita, a Whiskey Sour and the Tuna Bites, ordered medium. The drinks were okay and the Tuna Bites were actually pretty good, but unfortunately, some were cooked well done while others were slightly medium rare. For our entrees, we chose the Crab Cake Dinner with Girl Sprouts & Mashed Potatoes and the Rasta Pasta. The Rasta Pasta came out first and had great flavor but it was lacking that jerk seasoning taste that you would get from traditional "Rasta Pasta". My sides were then brought out and the Girl Sprouts were great but the Mashed Potatoes definitely needed some salt. I was then served a Crab Cake Sandwich, which I didn't order, so I had to wait another 10 mins for my Crab Cakes, which came out a little burnt. Overall, I wish I can say I had a better experience. We also had to wait quite a while for our server to bring over some waters. She was very nice but just kept forgetting. This spot is very cute and has a nice vibe so it could've just been an off night but I'm not sure if I would return.

My go-to meal is their crab cake sandwich and fries, but I ventured out and tried their special: New England Clam Chowder and Seafood Mac and Cheese. The chowder was okay. The clams were a little chewy and it lacked flavor; needed a few more dashes of salt at the least. The seafood Mac and Cheese had potential. The crab meat on top looked enticing. The noodles were cooked to perfection. But the flavor was also lacking. It was not cheesy enough to call a Mac and cheese and again needed more salt and/or other seasonings. There also wasn't much seafood to boast about. Maybe a scallop or 2, a very small quantity of shrimp....the crab meat and roll were the highlight. 3 STARS (for this visit). The service was GREAT!
