Another Yelp Reviewer's suggestion for the win! I happened to be in the area today, and after my first stops, I needed something to eat. Again, thanks to other Yelpers, I found this place. I'm so glad we found it. This place does have a small private parking lot, which is a good thing for the area. The interior was nice, large, and seemed very clean. Plenty of seats inside and a few tables outside. The fella who served us was very nice, pleasant, and took care of us. Now let's get to our meals: Holy mud were they good. The wifey had The Jim Boy. Which is a couple of eggs, a couple of sides, potatoes, and toast. She tells me the whole meal was very good with the potatoes being the flavorful standout. As for me, I had The Lumberjack. Wow was it good. It was smashbrowns topped with 3 eggs your way, fried chicken breast, sausage gravy, and a buttermilk biscuit on the side. Their website pictures were different from how it was presented to me today (not that it means a thing). Again what a wonderful flavor. The biscuits were great and the sausage gravy was fantastic! I will say this it is a very filling meal - you will not be hungry after eating this. So with all this said, I highly recommend this place and I'm sure I will be back. Four stars because on the day I went, they were out of several items on the menu. I ended up with my third choice.. after they were unable to make two sandwiches from the menu. They also were out of garlic knots. I had the cobbler salad with chicken, and it was pretty good but it was also about $20. The chicken wasn't warmed which was okay, but I know some folks expect that as a salad add-on. My husband ordered a pizza and it's apparent that pizza is really what to order! We walked in and the one lady greeted us and said we can sit wherever. Not a lot of people so we got to get a big table for us to sit at. Sat down and the waitress took a while to get to us but no big deal. She came and gave us these paper menus that can use a new batch printed. She got us our waters and dint see her for a bit again. Got our orders in and again, didn't see her again. All she kept doing was socializing with the other waitress and standing around. Got our food and I ordered biscuits and gravy with sunny side eggs. My biscuits and gravy were cold so I called the young lady over and told her. She asked do you want it reheated or done over... really? Done over. I saw when she took it back her and a few other waitresses just looked at the food giggled and looked at the plate. Food came back and the eggs weren't done and the gravy was so salty that it felt like I swallowed ocean water. At this point I was done and didn't even eat it. She or the manager didn't come over to apologize or say anything about it. Service/waitress- horrible Food- Would never recommend this restaurant let alone the food. Not worth the money. Especially for a waitress that just wanted to talk to her co-workers instead of attend to her table. First and last time I'll ever go there. People also said it's not worth it, I should've listened! The service was great, I want to start here. However, I requested the Caprese Sandwich and I was told there was no mozzarella. The waitress came back and I asked for the pastrami. I was told there was no pastrami. I asked for the list of items not in stock. I was told I needed back ups for my order, it would be easier. So, I asked for the Chicken Philly and I was told, "This must be an old menu. We don't have Phillies on the menu". Old menu? They printed it that morning and stapled the pages from the look of it! First off we walked in and my guy got the biggest smile as he could see the foosball table in the back, they also have ping pong and giant checkers. Its super laid back with a partial open concept kitchen so you can enjoy seeing them make pizzas, which smelled amazing and we agreed we will be returning to try. Our server was super friendly and informative. I ended up getting a hot chocolate toddie with peanut butter whiskey while he got a mimosa. I decided on trying the southern Benedict with fried chicken and bacon and let me say holy smokes that friend chicken is delightful. Juicy and perfectly seasoned. This is a charming spot for a quick lunch. The decor and ambiance are great and cozy. I ordered the pineapple pizza topped with bacon and jalapeños; however, I found the jalapeños to be too overpowering for the other flavors. The bacon used was regular bacon, not Canadian bacon, which is also known as ham. Overall, the pizza was mediocre and not quite what I expected. On a positive note, the service was excellent, and our server was very friendly. I will try other items on the menu next time. read more

I really hope this was a one‑time issue, because on November 17, 2025, I visited Baked Bistro -- arriving about 12 minutes before closing. When I pulled up, the "Open" sign was still out front. I got out of my car and walked to the building, only to see a staff member rush outside and remove the "Open" sign. By the time I reached the door -- still 10 minutes before closing -- the door was already locked. Inside, an employee looked my way but didn't approach me or offer an explanation. If a business advertises that it's open until 3:00PM, a customer arriving before that time reasonably expects to be served. What I experienced felt like a disregard for my time and expectations. I left disappointed -- if Baked Bistro wants to keep my business, I hope they better honor their posted hours in the future. read more

This is my second time here. The first time wasn't too bad, it wasn't spectacular. Just somewhere to eat. I did ask for something and never got it. Ambience is OK. They could bring a leaf blower in and blow some of the dust and cobwebs away. The apples are good. I wanted to take them home and I asked for a little box, it never came. Came here with some coworkers after a long night shift. The peanut butter coffee was delicious. I ordered the frittata with all veggies which was pretty good. A few of my coworker ordered the biscuits and gravy however they all said the gravy was way too salty.This restaurant gives a southern grandma feel as far as the food and even the plates. The waitress was great. They sell wine and doughnuts as well. I purchased doughnuts to go to share with my family and they were great. We chose the bar too since we were the only patrons at the time. The menu has very tasty selections and a good variety items. Believe it or not, my 9yo heard at school from his friend-that a restaurant in Hampton had ping pong tables. So on my lunch break the next week what did I do? Take my kiddo to live his best life at Baked. This adorable restaurant is tucked away close to the Hampton Court house on Wine street. There is ample parking close to the establishment, so no worries there. Once you walk in you are instantly met with a delicious smell of pizza & baked desserts! Their walls are filled with wine, beer & books- what more could we ask for ? Okay maybe that's a personal preference- but nonetheless I was impressed! The staff were all so friendly and personable & with a laid back environment it was a huge win. Our server was incredible, she was easy to talk to and made really good menu suggestions. We decided to get the Philly pizza which was absolutely phenomenal, the cheese was so gooey with bold savory flavors ! I loved it! I also ordered a mimosa with sorbet ice cream... DO YOURSELF A FAVOR & TRY IT!!! After our food was devoured, my kiddo and I played a couple more rounds of ping pong & then we both found books from their "take one, Leave one" library. I'm starting to like walking around this area of Hampton! I'm already planning a return trip to this cute bistro with my daughter before a visit to a local museum. Hubby & I stopped in on our way out of town this past weekend. We knew we wanted a good breakfast spot on the opposite side of the tunnel from us. Yelp reviews and photos led us to Baked and I'm glad we tried this new-to-us place. This past Saturday, there was ample side-street parking nearby, but we also noted a private lot when we got to the restaurant. It appears to be shared by both Baked Bistro & the neighboring donut shop, which offers an assortment of sweet treats right inside the door of the restaurant. The restaurant was busy, but there was not a wait around 1:00 pm. We opted to sit at the bar and were quickly greeted. I loved the cute wooden game to keep you occupied (and off your phone) while you wait. We both had coffee, served hot and delicious with a variety of creamers and took some time to peruse. They offer a huge menu of cocktails as well as several local drafts. On another occasion, I'd definitely come back to give something a try from their well-stocked bar. Hubs selected a breakfast wrap and I opted for a frittata. They have a ton of protein & veggie mix-ins to make these items your own, though they were out of broccoli on this day. It wasn't a long wait for food and we enjoyed watching other staff make pizzas. Every pizza that left the oven looked delicious! Hubby really enjoyed his wrap, which was served with a salsa. I liked my frittata, but would opt for light or no cheese next time. It was absolutely smothered! Surprisingly, given the amount of cheese on top, the frittata was not at all greasy or heavy. I love crab, however, i didn't know how i was gonna feel about the cheese and crab together. I was pleasantly surprised. We also got a side of smashbrowns, and they were great as usual. The ambiance of this place is nice and cozy. This is the sister restaurant to the Glazed Donut. Service is really great! Lady who was running around was on top of it even though they were pretty busy. I wanted to get something off of their lunch menu but they only had their brunch menu on Sunday. My hubs got the their breakfast combo which he said he enjoyed. My Langley sandwich was a bit too salty for my taste. The cucumber salad was not bad but maybe too pickled for my taste. I visited and reviewed this eatery previously but had not much I recalled so I am reviewing today as though it was my first visit. It is open 7 days a week until 3 pm. That's great when many places close on Mondays. The place was hopping at noon but 20 minutes later was down to a nice hum. Unsweet Iced tea was nicely brewed and I always give or take away a star for that alone. Menu is hefty with primarily breakfast offerings and pizza. There are some nice sandwiches as well. I ordered a 2 cheese grilled cheese on wheat. It was very tasty. Presentation was like I put a sandwich on a saucer in front of my granddaughter so it looked a bit sad on the plate. No chips, pickle, garnish. For a $10.99 grilled cheese a side included would not go unappreciated. We both enjoyed our sandwiches. The price was around $15 each plus tip. I liked it there. Not loved not enamored or raving, but I would come here when I am in downtown Hampton. Service was good, food was good, price was good, parking good and environment good. Best. Potatoes. Ever. We stopped in here after my companion's brother recommended this place for breakfast. It is a quaint, fresh, vibrant place with beach umbrellas out front. Baked Bistro serves breakfast and lunch. They have a huge array of wines on the wall. In the back there's a coffee seating area. There's a little bit of a bar, they also serve ice cream. But the breakfast. The breakfast! Although they have not a huge menu, the things they have are well thought out and delicious. I chose the breakfast frittata. You have your choice of one protein and two additions to create a custom frittata They include spinach, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, potatoes. You can have any kind of protein you want including bacon, Virginiaham, sausage, and turkey sausage I believe. The service was rapid, and friendly. The frittata comes with a side of toast or if you are a non-southerner like me resting biscuits all around the south, I ordered a biscuit. The biscuit was fluffy and high. I ordered the smashed potatoes on the side. These were some of the best potatoes I've ever had across the United States. They were russet taters which had been cooked ahead. Then they were fried I believe in butter with mixed bell peppers, green, red, and yellow, and onions. Oh my goodness that was so delicious! Crispy and crunchy on the outside; soft on the inside. They were just magnificently perfect. The frittata was quite delicious as well. They used to really well flavored, yummy cheddar cheese. I had mine with Virginia ham, bell pepper, and onion - scrumptious. My companion had the full breakfast which included French toast or pancakes, two eggs, sausage and bacon, grits. He doesn't tend to deviate his breakfast! Ha ha. Everything was done to perfection; he really enjoyed his meal and said it was great. Also the decor is fun and funky. Tables are kind of streak painted a nice color of light blue green. There's some look of a marina, with large barrels holding up the front table and a sea planking on the bar with hooks underneath. It's an open warehouse type feel for the ceiling, with fans. There is outdoor seating with vibrant striped umbrellas. Approximately 5 to 6 tables out front with metal lamps, metal chairs and tables. Funky part: Every table has a different set of salt and pepper shakers. We were ever so lucky to get the Easter bunny and Easter egg on ours. Such an adorable place and the atmosphere is a mash up of quaint and calming and low country eclectic. They have a few tables outside as well if Al fresco is your desired vibe. They were really busy and it seemed like a mix between local and tourists. The menu was really fabulous and the selections varied, making it hard to choose! After a few sips of coffee, we chose. For me, salmon cakes benny. It was so filling and very flavorful. I really liked that it had sliced tomato on it. With the dish being heavy, the tomato was a nice pop of acidity to cut it a bit. Love everything about this place. Employees greet you when you walk in, local decor makes it feel homey, menu is simple with a lot of depth. The shining star on the menu has to be the pizzas. The massive pizza oven draws eyes as soon as you walk in, standing tall and proud behind the shelves of pastries and donuts. The pizzas are cooked expertly, thin and wide with a nice crunchy crust. When I'm in town I like to venture to places I haven't tried before. This spot was a nice treat! I was surprised at all the selections you can make and they are infinite! Pizza, breakfast, pasta, ice creams, beer, Korean food its, "you get an option, and you get an option!" We went one Sunday and enjoyed everything. The BLTA with added egg (extra price), smashbrowns, and pancakes. The smashbrowns could be cooked a bit longer, some bits were not fully cooked. And it was the only bot great portion. Also, they could be a bit more crunchy like a hashbrown. The wall full of wine grabbed my attention but it was not a wine type of outing. Maybe another time. They also serve Glazed Doughnuts which has a shop at the back of same building (those are so friking delicious btw). Per usual, I'm stuffed and the food was absolutely delicious. Today I was wanting blueberry pancakes with chocolate chips inside as well, and they accommodated my request without hesitation, pancakes were were cooked to perfection, with large, fresh blueberries...almost thought I was in Maine with how good those blueberries were. My other go-to's that I will always stand on are the Jeffrey wrap (deep fried), add the potatoes inside and whatever veggies you prefer...best breakfast burrito I've had in this state, I don't even bother with it anywhere else in VA. Also...the biscuits and gravy. Full honesty here, sometimes they're just...amazing. But sometimes...sometimes I'm not sure whether God Himself cooked that gravy or what, because it is truly divine. I can always tell I'm about to have an out of body experience when the gravy is more of a brown color...OUT...STANDING! The courthouse is always a safe delicious plate, and if you've been held hostage and not eaten for 36 days, you MIGHT be hungry enough to finish the Lumberjack; but I'm betting you'll still take leftovers home...HUGE portions on the Lumberjack. I have no doubt the rest of the menu is excellent, but I can't seem to make it past these few items because they're just too good to pass up. Service is always friendly and accurate when it comes to ordering, ambience is a typical family diner spot for all ages, and Glazed doughnuts is right next door...don't even get me started on how those doughnuts could cure just about any illness (Baked usually has some in their pastry case to have one for dessert). A friend of mine wanted to treat me to brunch and suggested this place - honestly, I don't know why I haven't ever been here! I go to the donut shop next door every once in a while and it's fantastic, so why I never tried their eat-in location I don't know. The inside is super quaint - things are homey and mismatched. We were seated promptly and I ordered a basic breakfast - bacon, egg, toast and smashed potato. So the potato thing was a bit odd for me personally - not a fan. Otherwise everything was good. My friends got the biscuits and gravy - they raved about it, but I sampled it and while good, it's not my favorite in the area. Food: Pizza on Tuesday made by the Tuesday guy was delicious. He puts oil and garlic salt on the crust. It was so flavorful and chewy and really reminded me of NY. Thursdays pizza was not AS good but still better than anything else in the area so far. Service: Service here is... absentminded and prickly at best. The woman on Monday morning was friendly but on Tuesday and Friday lunchtime it felt like we were not even welcome. Like do you NOT want my business? I should note here that on Monday I tipped 30% so it's not like they're ignoring me because i'm a bad tipper... they seemed extremely overwhelmed. They brought us pizza but no napkins. Didn't ask us if we wanted drinks. He brought us 3/4 pizza slices and said he'd be right back with the other slice. In the meantime i couldn't find napkins or rollups accessible anywhere so i went up to the counter to ask for a knife and he said ok he'd get me one but then continued to do many other things until finally i asked someone ELSE for a knife and then he heard me grabbed a roll up which was RIGHT NEXT TO HIM and then came out from behind the counter, walked past me to take it to my table. Then i see a pizza slice sitting behind the counter so i ask, is that for me? And someone else is like ???? So i say yes and they hand it to me. A solid 5-7 minutes it sat there lonely while the other 3 slices were already at our table. On Thursday I went in asking if they were hiring (assuming they were short staffed on Tuesday and that's why everyone seemed stressed, overwhelmed, and sassy af) but was told nope! That's apparently how they always are! And based on our experience on Thursday it makes sense. Also want to note here that the dining are is not that small and could easily be serviced by ONE COMPETENT server who happiness and ease (based on my personal experience as a server). But apparently they prefer the sassy "i don't actually want to be here" vibe for their workers. ‍ Will still go for pizza. Because my family have enjoyed the Glazed Donuts store nearby, when it wasn't open due to the holidays, we decided to give Baked Bistro a try. Baked Bistro's decor is kind of retro, but clean and open- with space containing a couch in the back with a bar, and seating for the bistro in the front. We were seated and brought water and menus almost immediately and saw the many brunch offerings. My wife and I asked for house specialities and chose the jim boy with toast and the courthouse eggs over medium, with biscuits and gravy. The plates although more expensive than I imagined, arrived within 10 minutes. The bacon was crispy and delicious, the eggs were cooked perfectly and were pleasantly presented. I was not a fan of the grits. I like how they were presented they were really smooth but had corn hulls in the grits, that we kept picking out of our mouths after each forkful. Got a pizza it was alright. Came i to do a takeout order. Was told 15 minutes, which worked perfectly for a lunch break from work. Took about 45 minutes. A coworker also ordered a pizza was told the same thing. Noticed when they took out my pizza there wasn't any others in the oven. Turns out they completely forgot my coworkers pizza. Waited outside while my friend waited for his pizza they just put in the oven. Noticed half their staff outside on a smoke break. Pizza quality is not worth the poor service.
