One of the best diners I've been to since moving to VA in 2024. Our server Emily was so amazing, super funny and relatable too, she deserves a raise! All the food was amazing as well, the country Ham is an absolute must, you can order it as just a side. The country fried steak was one of the best I've had in VA. Inside is a busy diner atmosphere with plenty of tables.

Yum! I had an amazing breakfast here! Staff is friendly and super efficient . The decor is homey and welcoming. Plenty of parking for this popular place. I got the spinach and mushroom omelette. It was tasty ! It had the perfect amount of mushroom, spinach, and cheese. I loved the hollandaise sauce on top. So delicious! I got to try the potatoes with cheese which were a hit! This place is worth a visit!

We had such a great time at Cockeyed Rooster! The food came out super fast and everything tasted amazing, but Emily was the real star. She made us feel so comfortable and took great care of us, quick, friendly, and on point with everything. We've been a few times and it was always good, but this time the service really made the meal. Emily rocks! We highly recommend this place!!!

If you find yourself in Smithfield, Virginia, and you're craving a breakfast or brunch experience that's as comforting as it is delicious, look no further than Cockeyed Rooster. Open every day from 7 AM to 2 PM. The service at Cockeyed Rooster is friendly and attentive. The staff is always eager to make recommendations and ensure your coffee cup is never empty. The coffee is hot could be a tid bit stronger in taste nevertheless it's good coffee. The small-town charm of the place, combined with the attentive service, makes each visit feel personal and pleasant.

Met a great friend for some great breakfast. The environment is a totally perfect small town business. The service was excellent and the food was even better. I had the waffles and nice crispy bacon washed down with hot fresh coffee. It was busy but we didn't have to wait to be seated. I would definitely return again for a great meal.

Great breakfast/lunch spot in Smithfield! Love that you can get either breakfast or lunch all day since my husband loves breakfast and I'm more of a lunch gal. Food: Club with French fries was delicious and huge! Was able to make it without ham and cheese. Pancakes with eggs and sausage-pancakes were nice and fluffy and had good flavor. Scrambled eggs not overcooked and sausage was good too! Sausage Biscuit & Gravy- good flavor and good biscuit. Banana Pudding- -Yummy! It's made fresh so the cookies aren't all soggy-so good!!! Service-Our waitress was sweet and kind. She gave us time to look over the menu since it was our first time here. Attentive and made sure we had all that we needed. Inside there is a lot of seating and it's a comfortable place. Lots of cute rooster decor all over!

This is probably the best place I've ever had breakfast at! I am 100% serious with that statement!!!! Hubby actually found this place. We were meeting our granddaughters here for breakfast. We're probably about an hour away from the restaurant. Wow everything was great from the service the food the ambience it was just such a cool place. This is a breakfast and lunch restaurant . You can thank me later when you try it out, you will absolutely love it

The service was great. I think Alana was my server. The food was not spectacular. The poached eggs were hard boiled and the spinach was raw. Grits tasted like instant. Maybe I just picked the wrong dish. Hopefully better next time.

A friend and I stopped in for lunch. It is nice that you have the option of breakfast or lunch options. The staff was incredibly nice and attentive. The food was delicious and with generous portions. The French Fries are to die for. The decor was interesting. Not sure how I feel about about the huge Taylor Swift cut out. The only thing that could make this place better is if they served Bloody Mary's!

The food here was delicious! We were visiting for a wedding and we're glad we stopped here for breakfast. Our server was very nice. We ordered oatmeal that came with an English muffin, an order of pancakes (3 huge pancakes), side of fruit and homemade biscuit. The place was clean and lively.

Stopped in here for brunch. It was packed but the wait was only about 20 minutes. Our server was pleasant enough. Food was good but the star of the meal. Would definitely come back again.

We had the wings with the Chef Eddie's sauce on the side. We split a pear and strawberry salad which also had pecans and blue cheese. I don't recall the vinaigrette but it worked well with the salad. We added a chicken breast for extra protein. For my meal, I had the Norfolk combo with the veggie of the day (succotash). The combo consists of sautéed scallops, shrimp, and lump crabmeat in a buttery sauce. It was excellent! My husband had the NY strip off the new elevated menu. He got the brussel sprouts and sweet potato fries. I forgot to take a picture of the fries, but they were good and hot! He said the strip was very good also. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I liked how we sat inside, but a had a view of the water. It's a nice restaurant with great service!

My husband and I thought the appetizer sampler sounded good and would give us a good idea of their food. The crab cakes with the wonton was not good and the crab dip hardly had any crab in it. The ham biscuits were okay and really the only dish that was as good was the bang bang shrimp. Also even though our waitress was very friendly she hardly checked on us and we had to wait a long time to get our check. The only thing going for this place is the view.

Out of clam strips AGAIN. Have visited 3 times within last year. NEVER have clams strips available. We've been here ONLY because someone else chose this place the last two visits. Chilly day, when waitress was asked to turn on the fireplace, she said both of them were broken. Funny, neighbors were there on Friday night. They were working perfectly. I believe she just didn't want to be bothered with lighting them. Coleslaw was BAD, as in spoiled. Gross! When I told her, she did offer to replace, but by that time, we were almost done with meals. Hush puppies were so overdone, almost to point of being burnt. The fried shrimp were really good. The food here is always just "meh". Decor is non-existent, service leaves much to be desired. With so good seafood restaurants to choose from, don't waste your pick here.

The sandwich was okay, but the fries could have been hotter and crispier, for sure. My one friend really enjoyed the fried calamari She ordered as her lunch. Two friends ordered the fried shrimp, and one was happy but one had to have the shrimp cooked longer. The friend that ordered a salad enjoyed it as well. Our waitress was awesome. Very friendly and engaging and helpful. The atmosphere is shore-y - you can dine in or sit outside by the water. I have been here once a few years ago and remember liking it then, too. I'd like to go back and try them for dinner sometime. In the area, Check them Out!
