Our second time here and it was wonderful again. First our server, Heather. She was as sweet as our tea. On that note she was very attentive and kept checking on us and kept our sweet teas full. Sorry no pictures today. But my Ham Steak (Farmers Breakfast) with eggs, potatoes and English muffins was very good and a decent size for the price. Wifey had the Windsor. She tells me she liked it. The place was fairly full at about 11:00 AM, but we still received our hot meals in maybe 10 minutes. I highly recommend this Smithfield location. This is a really great restaurant! The service was excellent! I had the gluten-free French toast...delicious! I got the platter so it came with bacon and eggs. My husband had the gluten-free pancakes and he really enjoyed them. He also got their grilled pork chops which he liked. Their coffee is amazing, strong and hot! We shared the pecan Dijon salad. It was okay. We got a side of fries...hot and just the right amount fit salt. It's a very popular spot as we had to wait a little to be seated. But it is truly worth the wait! I have eaten there numerous times and the food is always delicious. The parking is great with a ramp in front of the entrance. There is a large waiting area with plenty of seating and the wait is usually very brief because the tables are cleared immediately and people are seated at tables quickly. read more

This is undoubtedly a very popular dining site. We arrived at about 10:30 a.m. on a weekday and nearly every table was occupied! We had to wait a couple minutes after arriving for anyone to come to the counter to seat us. The ambience is clean and casual and the dining area is nicely decorated with pictures and statuettes of farm animals and some antique toys. The menu is quite extensive, so a brunch fan is sure to find something to their liking. I appreciated that I could order a large milk and it was a good-sized serving. However, I found the coffee rather weak and bland. (I am astonished that other recent reviewers have described it as "amazing," "strong and hot," and "delicious." It was hot but that is all I can credit it with.) I ordered the Greek omelet with the addition of grilled chicken. For a cost of $2.99, I expected to see something like a single chicken tenderloin or part of a chicken breast served on the side but that is not how it came. While the omelet was well-made with an ample supply of feta cheese and spinach, the chicken was cooked into the omelet and was barely detectable. I got little more than a tablespoon of meat. The side of potatoes were a tasty addition to the plate. My wife thought the sausage links were good but they were small in size and a serving of two links was insufficient to please her. The serving of toast was generous, with four large half slices. The biscuit was clearly made in-house but it was disappointingly dense and bland. I have had better biscuits from Hardees and Bojangles. Real butter would have been better than vegetable oil margarine as an accompaniment. Inside is like a pretty typical American restaurant. Decorations, average sized tables. The menu is pretty extensive, however, for some meals they cannot substitute the items. It did take a little bit of time to get my food, but it was great. I got the pancake combo and my aunt got the French toast. I also got a side of grits, but they were a little runny and didn't have as much taste as I'd like. Me & my co-worker needed a meal after visiting the area this morning for a work assignment. We researched online and read previous reviews about this restaurant. From all the positive feedback we decided to check it out. Once we arrived, the host instantly welcomed us and seated us right away. We were greeted by our sever Katie. My husband ordered the JRB Benedict- it clearly states poached eggs. He made sure to ask if they were actually poached eggs and the man who took his order told him they have a machine they use to poach them with but when he received his meal it came with fried eggs and brown avocado pieces. He promptly returned it and explained the issue so they offered to remake it. On the second try the eggs were not only fried but fried hard and the avocado was just as brown as the first time, if not worse. They have been slipping for some time but this is just a mess. If you cannot cook a poached egg or do not know what one is then you should take the Benedict items off the menu! I was going to return that order for him but it had been over 30 mins of messing with food at this point he had given up on them.
