Cure Café is a vibrant little café in the historic district of Smithfield with great beverages, sandwiches, and staff. To drink the Pumpkin Cheesecake latte got me moving after the drive out there. Sweet smooth like liquid cheesecake paired with notes of pumpkin, nutmeg and fall spices, you won't be disappointed. Dairy options range from regular moo cow milk to imitation dairy substitutes. When on the road, one of the big highlights is finding a local coffee shop, grabbing an iced Americano, something to eat, and headed to hike a trail. I had the Lox bagel and it was delicious, dashed with capers and onions, served quickly, lightly warmed, and delicious. The staff were busy making coffees, but perfectly pleasant. The crazelnut flavor was delicious; you can taste the caramel and the hazelnut :0) The staff were very friendly, and there is seating inside and outside. Absolutely wonderful experience here! My husband and I stopped by randomly for a breakfast sandwich and coffee. The gal taking orders was so sweet and helpful. She didn't rush us and made accommodations for a few requests. Both of our drinks, a latte and a breve, were perfect. I ordered the "Southwest"? breakfast sandwich and it was, perhaps, the best sammie I've ever had. The homemade chipotle aioli was the cherry on top! The perfect amount of cheeky heat. I wish they sold it for home! Everything was delicious. The little coffeehouse was adorable, and the other patrons (frequents) were warm and made conversation with us. Definitely well worth a stop if you find yourself in this cute little town. read more

So, I was back in the area working for a short stint so decided to come back as I really like this place! I haven't been able to eat in, but it is a really cute, quaint space inside. As previously stated, I've only gotten takeout, but service has been fast, friendly, and helpful; I've never waited for very long. Drinks are well made and tasty. The latte art is a nice touch! My favorite is the creme brûlée latte with oat milk. The food is good, my only critique is that the ratio of toppings is a little bit off in my opinion. This week I had the pimento BLT (super heavy on the pimento) and the turkey sandwich with the fig jam (again, a bit too heavy on the spread). But both very tasty. Be prepared though: the prices here are pretty high. After tax, it's around $14 for a sandwich without any sides and lattes around $9 with non-dairy milk. Overall, I do enjoy this spot and make it a point to pop by when I'm in the area. read more

I'm glad I waited to write this review. I've visited a few times in the last year and each time has been a different experience I wasn't sure about. But this particular visit was exceptional. I LOVE the fresh blueberry scones, especially when they're still warm out the oven!! I wanted a matcha latte with almond milk, and was asked if I wanted it sweetened and how (I chose honey) and if I wanted it hot or cold. What was presented to me was latte porn (sorry for the strong word, but it was so aesthetically beautiful in a take out cup - my choice, I make a mess with china cups...) so if you need a photo for the gram, this is your to go spot. They know how to make a good latte! Monday's are for mimosa's, Tuesday's are for tasting and Friday's are for board games - great options for the community. Inside is modern with cement style floors, exposed brick walls, essentially 'farmhouse nouveau' for the hgtv obsessed out there, some awesome ideas for your own home. That aside, it's clean, with positive vibes and the staff are so friendly. Yes, I will be coming back. read more

Coffee was delicious (got a Red Eye) and Avocado Toast. It was so good I came back a 2nd day and ran the same order back again. The staff was pleasant, happy to customize, and efficient. This is a nice addition to Smithfield. I love these new shops opening along Church/Main street! I was able to stop in for breakfast this morning when no one else was inside - the gal's inside didn't really say hi to me though one of them was polite enough once I spoke to her and ordered. I thought I was fairly friendly, I said hi to them, I left a tip, I have no idea if I somehow rubbed them wrong or what... but when I asked about the syrup in my coffee the girl who had not spoken to me at all looked at me and didn't even respond AT ALL. That is rude af. I chose the turkey fig sandwich on wheat bread with some chips and drip coffee. The turkey fig sandwich was pretty good and was a good-sized sandwich consisting of house-roasted turkey, goat cheese, avocado, house-made fig jam, greens and dijon dressing. Very fresh and delicious. The drip coffee was good too - I asked for vanilla and lavender syrup to flavor it and added some cream and sugar. I had all of this inside and the sandwich took about 5-10 minutes to be ready. I sat inside and ate it at the bar. None of the gals inside (two of them) asked me if I liked it - or spoke to me at all for the hour I was inside - they greeted everyone else who walked in and spoke to them - but no one spoke to me again while I was there. I'm not sure if you can get a refill of your coffee because one wasn't offered - I was on the fence about it - but it would've been nice to know. The menu has a ton of items I wanted to try - the yogurt parfait, the avocado toast, a few other sandwiches, some salads, etc. They have special coffee drinks too like creme brûlée, peppermint, honey cinnamon, etc. I'll come back for sure - I won't judge them solely based on this awkward experience with those two employees. read more

The service here was acceptable, the food okay, the ambiance was nice but boy was it expensive! Came in for lunch with my wife because I heard they had good sandwiches and wraps. Had $40 in my pocket when I got there and left with less than $1 after ordering two sandwiches with chips and one bottle of coke (my wife drank water) and 10% tip for the cashier that was nice to me. I realize food costs are up, but good grief. Looks like it's back the the Smithfield Ice Cream Parlor for my next lunch. read more

Extremely slow service and not exaggerating when I say the worst coffee I've ever been served. 90% milk, cold, served in a paper cup. Wow. Their chai latte is so good. You should've seen my face when I took my first sip. It has a great smooth flavor and sweet but not sickeningly sweet like some coffee shops. Cure Norfolk is at the top of my favorites list so I knew that the newer location in Smithfield would be amazing! Of course, it was! It's a tiny little shop with so much character and delicious drinks! I love this newer location as it's right in the heart of Smithfield and a perfect new addition to the area! I picked my favorite drink which is the chai and it was delicious as always! The artwork in the cup is also an added and beautiful bonus which is so much appreciated! We enjoyed a lunch and a quick coffee this afternoon and we loved the new coffee shop! Even though their food menu is small it is full of some tasty items. I had the grilled cheese with tomatoe slices and my husband had the pastrami. They came in great portion sizes. He had a vanilla latte, which he said is the best one he has ever had and I had hot tea. Their tea is loose leaf and infused per cup. You can even buy a tea infuser there. I also later had a mocha latte to go that was delicious. If you don't want coffee or food they also have alcoholic beverages to warm you up. Im looking forward to their mimosas with brunch next week! read more

Odered a cappuccino and a pumpkin latte. I could not drink the cappuccino. It had no foam at all. I returned it and said I had ordered a cappuccino. The barista said it was a cappuccino. I pointed out it had no foam at all a only a dollop of milk. She offered to remake it. I said no thank you. My friend with me said their pumpkin latte was fine. The barista working in mid afternoon on Friday did not know what a cappuccino was. With a little help from the owners she could be taught. She was polite and while offering to make me another I did not want to teach her what a cappuccino was. read more

This is such a cute local coffee shop off of Main Street in Smithfield! At first glance it looks like a cute modern space inside a historic old building. There's many beautiful wooden tables and surprisingly seemed to be a bunch of outlets as well. Seems like it would be a great place to work or read for a bit in the afternoon or have breakfast with friends! The staff and baristas were so friendly. They offered help in choosing our drinks and even brought them to our table. The drinks were amazing! Besides the usual espresso drinks (latte, cappuccino, americano, etc.) they have all these great flavored lattes! The churro latte was fabulous. It was so flavorful, with that dark sweetness and spice. And it was all natural flavorings, not just a syrup. The barista muddled spices and brown sugar in the bottom of the mug before pouring the espresso and milk. Besides the coffee drinks, you can get cups or pots of tea, and even beer and wine! Or food! I'll have to come back some time just to try the fig and cheddar sandwich. They have a happy hour daily and also have specials such as cheese boards for wine on Tuesday or game nights. read more
