We were seated quickly. Our waitress was fantastic at my recent visit. I was there with my friend and a teen who is special needs. Our waitress was very engaging with them and took her time with them. I was so happy about that. Our food was amazing. My husband was with me once and he had the scotch eggs and said they were some of the best he has had. My food has always come out piping hot. I enjoy my blueberry pancakes. I like that you can get one plain and one blueberry. The blueberries on my pancake were spaced out well. There is a nice large lot to park in. There are various other businesses around food craft that share that lot.

The home fries and steak were lukewarm, the eggs were literally cold like they sat in the refrigerator, the bacon was also damned close to being that cold. The toast was cold as can be, barely toasted, no butter, not cut. I mentioned it to the waitress and she said there is butter on the table. That's it. She really seemed like it was a bother to have to serve customers at all. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I don't know how this place has any positive reviews at all. I sent my entire meal back but still paid for coffee and the side of bacon (and my sons' meals of waffles and French toast). I didn't want mine remade. Still cost me nearly 50 dollars for this trash, and no offer to make it right other than removing exactly what I sent back. My other and more serious concern is food safety. IF they ARE cooking this ahead and storing it in a way that leaves it cold or room temp, bacteria is a big concern. I'm typing this from the toilet and my stomach is going through it right now. I got out to go in to place an order when I saw a sign on the door that said "staff only" and realized that you stay IN your car the the wait staff will come to your car to take your order! After taking our order, she placed a pink tag on our windshield. Our order was done in no time. When the young lady brought it to us, we paid her then. She had a traditional metal change dispenser on her waist too! The burger was SO good: the bun was fresh, the burger good with melted cheese and fried onions. The fries were crispy and fresh. The battered onion rings were SO good: whole onion slices surrounded in a nice crispy, non-greasy batter. All in all, I'm so glad we finally stopped by Smitty's. It has definitely made it to our go to list of food places to visit while in the area.
