We have been to Wharf Hill Brewing a few times, and I always get the same thing, the volcano burger! Onion ring, jalapeños, and beer cheese? Yes, please! The sweet potato fries are delicious and served with a sweet and tangy dipping sauce. They also offer a beer flight; I especially enjoy the red ale. I love the tavern style of Wharf Hill with the exposed brick and antique style chairs.

Stopped by to grab a quick drink. Did not try any food but did check out the menu and will come back to eat some of the delicious food items that they had listed. ! Sat at the bar and the bartender was helpful with helping my husband pick out a beer. She gave him two different samples and he found a beer to drink. It was later afternoon on a Saturday but the bar area was busy but it seemed like everyone was being taken care of and the food that came out looked yummy. It's a cool bar area with lots of wooden accents and just a downhome feel.

Somewhat tucked away on a side street in Smithfield, we missed this treasure! What a great experience with an amazing somewhat erie historical background! Seems this old building was a funeral home / crematorium. All the wood, tables, everything are from original historical buildings. As I understand the story, the kitchen area now - was the crematorium. Well, whatever they were "cookin", some deliciousness with a side of "fried green tomatos" was on the menu. We delighted in the stories as much as the food! From a super beefy burger to my amazing blackened Cesar salad, it was a welcomed treat to our hungry bellies! Our server Kylee was fantastic and super attentive! Definitely one to add to our regulars! Highly recommended!

Came here on our "Tour of Smithfield" for Father's day. Make sure you make reservations as there was a line for the dinning area. We stayed in the "bar" area. We came for the beer this time around. If you are going as a group. I would highly recommend car pooling. Parking is limited because of the location. Beer is delicious. They have guest taps as well, so make sure you read the whole beer menu.

This seems like a place that I would have loved in my early 20s. Of course, my standards were much lower then. The service was poor. She forgot straws. We asked for more. She forgot those. She forgot napkins twice. Finally got up and got my own. The seating seems like it was salvaged from a building that was being torn down: it's uncomfortable and not level. The table was so uneven that things kept falling over. The beers that were made in-house were mediocre. Not bad, per se, but not very good. In fact, that could be the overall theme for the whole experience: "Not bad, but not very good". We ordered two burgers and a Reuben. It took more than 30 minutes for that order to arrive. The burgers were tasty, though WAY overcooked. The bun had light scorch marks like it was toasted, but was actually cold and tasted barely cooked. It would have benefited greatly from actually being toasted. We had specified explicitly that we all hate pickles. All three sandwiches came to the table with pickles. My wife's Reuben was half sauerkraut, and she had asked for it to be on the light side. It also lacked 1000 Island dressing, and the meat had a strange taste. Not bad, just... off. I used to tend bar in brewpubs like this and I really wanted to like this place, but... it just wasn't great.

Ask the Community - Wharf Hill Brewing

Do they still have a specialty drink/cocktail menu?

I think that they did have a specialty cocktail menu the last time I went (September 2022) but I did not pay much attention to it.

Love it here!…read more Yesterday my husband and I dined at this restaurant for the prime rib special. Today Monday the day after is National prime rib day so the restaurant decided to feature a special on prime rib for Sunday dinner. My husband made reservations online for 5:00 p.m. we arrived on time with no wait and because the restaurant was fairly empty we decided to dine at the bar instead of a table in the actual dining room. Our bartender/waitress, Lizzie, she was on point held the whole bar area down punctual assertive and had everything under control. I ordered a margarita I did ask her is it a fresh Margarita and she said yes and my husband ordered his normal crown with a splash of Sprite. My margarita in my opinion it didn't taste as fresh as I would like it to be and then I don't care to have a margarita in a tall glass that just screams mix not fresh to me. Nevertheless I just know not to order that again going forward but my husband's cocktail... Crown Royal with Sprite he enjoyed it! I wasn't super hungry so I decided to order a salad and add a piece of blackened salmon to it it was very good finished it all up... ordered it my way. My husband ordered the prime rib I believe medium his was a little bit more than medium but nevertheless he said it was good and he ate every last Fork full. We decided to make room for dessert so we share the creme bruelle which was pretty good ...not the best ever tho. Our dining experience took about 90 minutes we were able again to sit at the bar and catch some of the NBA Playoffs that were featured on TV. Overall the dining experience was a 10 out of a 10 five stars as usual of course a few bumps, but nothing to take away from this experience. The Ambiance is always lovely very inviting love the low lighting that it gives as well as the natural light that comes through the windows. The service always on point! I highly recommend you give this place a try if you haven't dined here before...solid restaurant. Have fun and enjoy life :)

The German Dog had a great combination of sauerkraut and spicy brown mustard, with plenty of topping in every bite. The corn dog was golden and crisp on the outside with a juicy hot dog inside. The real surprise was the pickle fries. They were crunchy, tangy, well seasoned, and especially good with the dipping sauce. The menu has a lot of creative choices beyond ordinary hot dogs, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. The restaurant also has a welcoming, family-owned feel that makes the experience even better. A fun local spot with great food and plenty of personality. We would definitely return and try more of the menu.

Let's see how this stop turned out. We were able to get a table during lunch time where there was a good crowd on hand. Since it was the 4th, I expected there would be a few more. The staff was pretty busy taking care of diners and orders ready for takeout. It was a little warm inside, but it wasn't a surprise given the weather was really hot. And there was a fan literally behind is blowing out much needed air. The special they had for the 4th was $2.50 corn dogs and $2.50 PBR beer. We said no to beer, but couldn't resist corn dogs. My order consisted of two of them and a small order of cheese curds. Sophia ordered two corn dogs and a Roadhouse hot dog. This was the first time in a long time I'me had corn dogs so I couldn't resist given the special. And boy did they deliver. I actually started to get full after eating my first one. They were really good and well cooked. And great call to add cheese curds to the meal. Tasted great especially with the sauce. Sophia enjoyed her selections and had leftovers to take home as well. There you have it. Another great lunch for the two of us. We'll be back soon :)
