Located in a strip mall. Found this spot free styling on Yelp. The place is clean and the decor was neat. As soon as you walk in, it smells like fresh waffle cones. Staff is friendly and efficient. I went with the Carolina Burger and the onion rings, both of which were excellent. I grabbed a box of their Lemon & Coconut cookies and they were legit. I got the farmers burger ($10) and it was made to a pink/medium temperature. It was seasoned good. The biggest issue was they put way too much much mayonnaise in it where it was almost soaking in sauce. If was toned down , I would've definitely enjoyed it a lot more. It was good size patty for the price. The staff were super nice and friendly! They also had ice cream which looked good, but I opted out. Unfortunately your Smithfield location continues to go down hill. The last three times I've been the burger was over cooked and the fries were cold and soggy. Including sitting here while I write this. At this point I can get a better burger and way better fries from Burger King. It is unlikely that I will return. If you're craving a burger, this is the place to go! I would say this is a gourmet version of Burger King and Five Guys. I ordered a farmhouse burger with cheese and fries. The burger was cooked medium, slightly pink center, and not super greasy at all. We got it to go and it was all packaged so nicely. We had a large order with lots of custom changes which they met perfectly. We had others try the corn dog nuggets and tater tots that were tasty as well. Was is the area and decided to go here on a recommendation for a buddy who lives in Smithfield. The restaurant is in a shopping center and is fairly small but they have a decent amount of tables. You order at the counter and then go sit down and they bring your food to you. The food came out pretty quickly for it being pretty busy. I got the farmhouse burger and it was good. The burger patty was a little dry but it was lifted up by the fresh tomato slice , onion, pickles, lettuce and the sauce they put on it (mayo, ketchup, and mustard). Putting all three of those sauces on a burger is a little suspect in my opinion a burger shouldn't need all that sauce but again it was not bad and I did enjoy it. We were craving ice cream and we were led to this super chill busy fav local hang out! We "pigged" out on sweet treats! I got a soft serve cup and there were tons of toppings to choose from! I picked fall colored sprinkles, Reese's and Andes mints... yum! The "chick" behind the counter put some of the toppings half way between the ice cream so I'd have some in the middle... nice touch! I was not in the mood for food or yummy dessert this past Saturday. But my family was! Sure enough, we took a hike to our favorite ice cream spot in Suffolk only to find out they have been closed for days now... they're on vacation. Nevertheless, I had bookmarked Farmer's Table some time ago. Based on the reviews, this seemed like a place we should check out. Well here is last Saturday... my family only wanted dessert. A chocolate milkshake for my babe and ice cream for the girls. My guess is that we are so used to other spots that give you at least a handful or two of choices, coming here was a bit disappointing. My babe said the shake... it was nothing to it and it was made so fast compared to other shops. My teenager and her friend said, all they had was three choices like... no need to say the name. Well it seems like it is known for their burger(s) and chicken sandwich. But I thought this would be a good alternative for dessert. Oh well, this place is located in a shopping mall strip and easy to spot from the main road. This is a hole in the wall restaurant with great food, ice cream and atmosphere. I ordered the double farmhouse burger and added bacon and grilled onions to it and was fantastic. Even after I finished, my mouth was still watering for more but my stomach was full. Need a Burger? How about a savory grass-fed one? Yum! This restaurant for sure checks off all the boxes when it came to flavor. While not pictured in this review they also offer a pretty big selection of shakes, ice cream, and more. The two reasons for a 4 star versus a 5 star is they forgot to make and bring out the shakes. They brought it out about 10 minutes after our burgers came out. The other reason is the price doesn't justify the food versus quality for us. We drove here from Norfolk for my daughters 10th birthday. She wanted burgers. This place did not disappoint. My 10 year old is really picky and normally doesn't eat the bun. Well, she ate every bite. We all had burgers and they were delicious. My hubby had the pull pork and wished he had ordered a burger. I wasn't a fan of the onion rings. My oldest got a spicy chicken sandwich and loved it. The fries were yummy. We all had ice cream and the portions are hugeee. They also make their own ice cream in house. The place is small and limited seating. They have a few tables outside as well. The young girls at the register were super sweet and accommodating.
