Needed to grab lunch before my meeting. This place was close by and great reviews. The food was amazing. Huge portions so probably why pricey but hey it is CA. Ordering process QR based was nice and easy. Nice atmosphere. I am a fan.

I was in town for a baseball tournament, and since my hotel was just down the street, I happened to drive by this restaurant. I made a U-turn, and I'm glad I did. The restaurant has been under new ownership for about a month. I was greeted right away and quickly seated. I wanted to order the chicken and beef tenderloin combo, but I was told it wasn't available--even though both items were available individually. That was a little confusing. I ended up ordering the beef tenderloin. It was cooked well done, although no one asked how I wanted it prepared. I would have preferred medium. To start, I ordered the baba ghanoush, which was delicious. They also brought out a huge basket of fresh, homemade bread served with balsamic vinegar and olive oil--definitely one of the highlights of the meal. For my entrée, I skipped the rice and requested double vegetables. Instead, I received double salad. While everything tasted great, for a $36 entrée I was hoping for extra grilled vegetables like cauliflower rather than more salad. Overall, the food was very good, and I'd come back. The restaurant has plenty of seating both inside and on the back patio, TVs throughout, a full bar, and a nice selection of craft beers on tap. It has a welcoming atmosphere and is worth checking out. The staff was friendly, the manager (a lady) was very nice and gave me a small sample of a tomato pico looking item and told me to try it.

Very disappointing experience. We ordered meat, but it tasted old and had a bad smell. We immediately noticed that something was wrong with the meat and could not eat it. This is completely unacceptable for a restaurant, especially when it comes to food quality and freshness. I would not recommend this place and hope the management takes food quality and freshness much more seriously.

Great food - authentic Mediterranean food. Tasty kebab platters - must try! Also amazing service very attentive staff.

Food quality was great! The pide was crispy and flavorful. The other meat dish I forgot the name of was also great! Bread (not pictured) was also soft and fluffy, went well with the olive oil and vinegar. The staff were nice and welcoming. Portions did lean just slightly on the smaller side though.

New name

**new ownership and different food** This is now a (primarily) Persian restaurant that serves (some) Turkish items. It now has an "H" in the name lol. We were regulars to the original Mangal and loved it. It was 5/5 stars. This is a comparison review for those who knew the O.G. Turkish bbq. This new restaurant is probably 3/5 or 3.5/5 stars in comparison to the former Turkish grill. We ordered chicken thighs and rice plate to-go and it was OK flavor compared to the mouth-watering flavor Mangal used to serve. The flavor profile is different and if you like Persian food, it will be good. The saffron rice portion was good (although inconsistent because of our two orders one was noticeably smaller) and the chicken portion was just OK. I'm not walking away hungry - so that's good. The portions from formal Mangal were larger in comparison. The rice from the former Mangal was so delicious that we'd often get two orders of it just for leftovers, so this one was a comparative disappointment. I will try their Turkish rice and see if that's a more fair comparison next time and update my review. The side of bread was a surprising highlight. It was warm, soft, and good. A smaller portion than the original Turkish Mangal, but not by much. The restaurant experience is renovated, staff are welcoming and well-dressed like a more formal dining experience, and the place looks generally cleaner. All that being said, I am greatly missing one of my favorite Bay Area restaurants. This new one is good, but not great. It's not a go-to recommendation for my visitors like it was before. I'd put it on par with the many other Sunnyvale restaurants that serve Persian-like food. Will let you be the judge, but I wanted to share my comparative experience and missed expectations.

Mangal is a hidden gem! We have been passing by the restaurant for years, and we finally had the chance to check it out. The decor takes you on a journey to Turkey. Our daughter enjoyed seeing all the decorations of fruits and the tv playing different scenic picture of Turkey. The staff are super attentive and friendly. Our daughter is 2, and she makes it known with her energy and volume. The staff were understanding and engaged with her, which was a relief to us. Initially, the menu was a bit overwhelming. However, our server, and we assume the owner, walked us through it and provided recommendations. We went with... 1) combo appetizer with the yogurt, atom, baba ghanoush, and picked vegetables. Everything was flavorful and fresh. We deemed it better than Dish Dash's appetizer combo. Shhhh. The baba ghanoush was not as smoky as I am used to, but had good flavor. It was not overpowering. 2) Branzino meal - fish was cooked perfectly. The skin was crispy and flaky. The fish, although thin, was juicy. It came with a side salad and rice. Salad was delicious!!! 3) We got an assortment of meats: 1 shrimp, 2 orders of chicken shish, and 2 orders of filet mignon shish. Everything was amazingly tender and seasoned well. Initially, we thought the portions were rather small, but the food was rich and we had leftovers. The shrimp was a bit overpriced at $6/piece. 4) Their assortment of bread was amazing! Super moist and fluffy! It paired well with the appetizer combo. 5) Drinks: Maker's near and Tito's soda. Decent pour and well-balanced drink. We would definitely like to come back, but skip on the drinks and combo. We probably stick to the dinner meals as well. All in all, a great first experience, and Dish Dash's has some serious competition.

Attentive and friendly staff, and the food was delicious. The bread was great, and the beef patty kofta was well-seasoned. The Sigara Böreği were rich, and there was plenty of bread to enjoy with the dips and olive oil, perfect amount of food overall. The shrimp were huge and tasted fresh. Ending the meal with baklava and Turkish tea was a great touch, perfect for relaxing and slowing down after eating.

The first thing I have to mention is the incredibly unique free bread that is given to the table. It is a traditional Turkish bread that is huge and a nice way to compliment the meal. The portions are not that big by the quality and taste are great. I tried the combination plate and all of the meat options were tasty and juicy. The interior is huge with plenty of seats, and the staff are very helpful.

Excellent Koobedeh!

Excellent Koobedeh! Great presentation, ambiance, and service--a must-try! The chef comes from a Michelin-rated restaurant, and you can really see and taste the attention to detail.

I don't usually write negative reviews--mostly because I do my homework and tend to choose places I'm genuinely excited about. This one was disappointing enough to feel worth documenting. My boyfriend and I ended up here after attempting to go to Treehouse nearby (which had an hour wait--unsurprising given the concept). This restaurant was a short walk away, which actually worked out well given how congested the area was, and we walked in optimistic. The space itself is very large, but nearly empty for a weekday evening. It felt family-owned and casual, which I usually love--many of my favorite restaurants fall into that category. Unfortunately, the experience didn't reflect that warmth. We were given a different menu than other diners, which immediately felt odd. Service wasn't overtly rude, but it was noticeably unwelcoming--almost a "why are you here?" tone rather than hospitality. We ordered hummus and feta, both of which were surprisingly expensive for the portion and quality. We were told bread would arrive automatically with the hummus, but it didn't--despite asking multiple times. When it finally arrived, it was poorly cooked and no longer served any purpose, as we were already well into the meal. Despite the restaurant being far from busy, our mains took about 30 minutes. One dish--a kebab--was fine but very forgettable for a $30+ price point. My dish, dumplings in a yogurt-based sauce, was honestly inedible. I left it untouched and mentioned that it didn't taste good. The response was simply, "Oh, so you don't want a box?" No attempt to fix the issue or even acknowledge it. What sealed it for me was the overall condition of the place. Dirty cutlery, a generally rundown interior, and a lack of attention to cleanliness made it uncomfortable to eat there. I'm not picky about ambiance when the food and service deliver--but here, nothing quite worked together. The whole experience felt very turn-and-burn, as if the restaurant relies on proximity to a popular area rather than repeat customers. I left feeling like unless you're part of a specific in-crowd, this isn't a place that's trying very hard to win you over. Personally, I wouldn't return, and I wouldn't recommend it--especially given the pricing and the many better options nearby.

Overall their kebabs were dried. $30 for Chicken special; $33 for a thin slice of beef tenderloin which was super dried.

The 1 star is for everyone's awareness of they had changed the menu completely and no longer a Turkish restaurant. Sorry for the long review but need to let people know about the change of this place. Our first time at this place last night. I even called to ask about their Turkish grill a day before since we planed to treat our friends who came all the way from Japan. We were super disappointed when they gave us a menu that only serve a few entrees of kebab (forgot to take picture of their current menu), very limited of salad options, plus Persian dessert? I showed the pictures from Yelp and asked the waitress, she said those were old menus. We asked how old and whey did they change, she said 2 weeks ago! I was like... but I called just a day ago that they didn't say anything. What a scam! The waitresses there were polite and filled with smiles but they acted weird. When we still had food on our dishes, they kept asking if we were done. After a few times, one of us said she's good, the waitress took away her dish while we still had food on the table that we were sharing. There were only 5 tables of customers in the restaurant, the place was quite empty, not sure why they were so rush. So after other friends finished the shareable food, another waitress gave the charging device to our friend without giving us the check or showing us what we have ordered, just directly put the charging device on our table, that we had to ask for the check to see if we were charged correctly. So awkward! About the food, not too bad. The chicken special was ok and the beef was dried, anyways we managed to finish them all. At least their salad dishes were fresh.

I still love this place but I wanted to inform any prospective guests about the honestly and integrity of this restaurant. In short theyre very honest, hardworking people, in a industry that is challenging even on its best days. I got the wrong bill, paid it, tipped on it and left but I discreetly e-mailed the restaurant several days later. They invited me back and paid me back in cash and offered dessert. One time I left my credit card here and they offered me tea, coffee and a snack! I've been here probably about once every couple months and I thank everybody from the bottom of my heart for their generosity. I've reviewed this place a few times already but I think for a group or just a couple, the food here is of the very best quality you can probably have for the money. The service has always been impeccable and Turkey in general is home to the best food, some of the best doctors, and the nicest hospitality in the world. I strongly suggest if there are any meat lovers in the area, make a detour to visit. The meat is all very high quality, cooked over coals, and presented beautifully. Full bar too!

A disappointing second visit after an amazing first experience…read more Our experience at Meyhouse has been mixed, which is especially disappointing given how much we loved it the first time. We first visited about 1.5-2 years ago for dinner, and it was easily a 5/5 experience. The food, drinks, and dessert were all fantastic. We enjoyed it so much that we were excited to return. Unfortunately, our second visit in October 2026 was a completely different experience. We opted for the prix fixe menu and selected a seafood appetizer and yogurt dip. We were then informed that the seafood appetizer was unavailable, and our server offered hummus as a substitute. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst hummus dishes we've tasted. It had an unpleasant burnt, bitter flavor, with what appeared to be caramelized butter practically floating on top. We sent it back, and our server offered to replace it with a salad. That salad never arrived. The main courses took an exceptionally long time to arrive. At that point, we were just sitting there waiting for food, having had only one appetizer between the two of us. The chicken was decent, but the vegetable entrée was well below average. When it came to dessert, our server asked if we'd like it prepared, mentioning it would take about 10 minutes. We said yes, but it took over 20 minutes to arrive. To be fair, the dessert--semolina with ice cream--was delicious and one of the few highlights of the evening. Service was equally disappointing. At one point, our server accidentally spilled water while refilling a glass and assured us he'd have it cleaned up right away. That never happened. There was a consistent pattern of promising to take care of things and simply not following through. To top it all off, when the check arrived, we noticed an additional $4 charge for the hummus--the very dish that had been offered as a replacement for an unavailable appetizer and that we had sent back because it tasted terrible. What bothered us most wasn't just the food or the delays, but the overall lack of attentiveness and accountability. The service felt indifferent, almost as though our experience didn't matter. It's disappointing to see such a dramatic difference between two visits to the same restaurant. We know Meyhouse is capable of delivering an excellent dining experience because we've experienced it firsthand. Unfortunately, this visit fell far short of that standard. First visit: 5/5. Second visit: 2/5. I genuinely hope this was an off day, but it has certainly made us hesitant to return.

# An Unforgettable Dining Experience, Made Even More Special by Extraordinary People!…read more Some dining experiences are about the food. Others are about the atmosphere. And every once in a while, you find a restaurant that delivers all of that **and something even more meaningful: genuinely wonderful people who make you feel like you matter.** That was our experience at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in Santa Clara on Sunday, October 11, 2026. Our evening began before I even arrived! I was driving in from Sacramento and, true to form, running a little behind schedule. I called the restaurant and had the pleasure of speaking with a lovely woman named Cathy. I explained that the reservation was under my name, but that if a handsome young man arrived looking around for me, she was welcome to seat him so he could enjoy a drink while waiting for his mother. Cathy was an absolute sweetheart! What struck me most wasn't simply her willingness to accommodate my request. It was the genuine kindness in her voice. You know when someone is being pleasant because it's their job, versus when someone is simply a kind human being? Cathy is the latter. And wouldn't you know it? When my son arrived, she recognized him! He arrived promptly at 4:00 p.m. I made my grand entrance at 4:22 p.m. For context, my sons firmly believe that *early is on time, and on time is late.* Imagine their lifelong struggle having a mother who believes in arriving fashionably late! But I digress. **Let's talk about the atmosphere!** The ambiance was absolutely lovely. Upscale, elegant, and sophisticated without being pretentious or intimidating. The noise level was consistently comfortable, allowing us to enjoy meaningful conversation without competing with the room. And here's something I particularly appreciated: Although Fleming's is unquestionably an upscale establishment, they don't make guests feel uncomfortable for dressing casually. You can dress beautifully for a special occasion or arrive comfortably dressed and still feel completely welcome. Think of what you'd wear to that *other* popular restaurant whose name happens to involve cheesecake. You'll be just fine! **Now, on to the food and drinks. OH. MY. GOODNESS!** My son started with a nonalcoholic cocktail called the Golden State of Mind, while I enjoyed a Smoked Manhattan. Now, I happen to prefer mine a little sweeter than most, so I affectionately call my version a Sweet Smoked Manhattan. Either way, you really can't go wrong! We began with calamari and oysters on the half shell. Both were AMAZING! For our entrées, we selected the Prime Petite Bone-In Ribeye and the Australian Carrara Wagyu Filet Mignon. Because apparently two extraordinary steaks weren't enough, we also ordered the Jumbo Scallops with Wild Mushroom Risotto to share. And the sides? Crispy Pancetta Brussels Sprouts and Chipotle Cheddar Mac & Cheese. Every selection made the evening feel even more indulgent and special. This was the kind of meal that reminds you why fine dining is an experience, not merely dinner. Unfortunately, we had a date with Bruno Mars that evening! So, as much as we would have loved to linger, dessert had to wait. However, I've enjoyed Fleming's desserts on previous visits, and I strongly encourage you to save room. Or better yet, order something to take home. Your future self will thank you! **Now, let me tell you about the people who truly made this experience exceptional.** Our server, Frankie, was simply wonderful. If you have the opportunity, **ASK FOR FRANKIE!** He was patient, professional, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure we enjoyed every moment of our meal. There's a beautiful difference between providing service and extending hospitality. Frankie understands that difference. I also had several lovely conversations with Shyla, one of the managers. She radiates warmth and professionalism, and it was evident that guest satisfaction is something she takes personally. Not in a rehearsed, corporate sort of way, but with sincere interest in the people dining at her restaurant. And then there was Caden! Although I didn't catch his official title, I certainly noticed his commitment to making sure our experience was everything we hoped it would be. Cathy, Frankie, Shyla, and Caden each contributed something special to our evening. Together, they created the kind of hospitality that makes guests want to return. And a shout-out to Angelina also! Thank you for taking my call on Thursday, October 15, 2026. You were equally a wonderful representation of the restaurant! **Would I dine at Fleming's Santa Clara again?** **ABSO-FREAKIN'-LUTELY!!!** But before I close, I'd like to share why this particular evening meant so much to me. My youngest son surprised me with tickets to see Bruno Mars as a combined Mother's Day, birthday, and Christmas gift for 2026. In doing so, he fulfilled a dream I didn't even realize I had: seeing Br
