Instead, our experience was ruined by the owner, Gordon Langstaff, and his completely inappropriate behavior around a small child. My son, who is three and on the autism spectrum, briefly picked up a loose electrical cord that was lying on the ground under the patio stairs (I have a photo of how exposed it was). Instead of calmly addressing the situation, Gordon walked over in a rude, irritated tone and said, "Can you do something?" I told him I was already handling it and redirecting my son, but as he walked away he started cursing under his breath, using foul language that was clearly audible right next to my child. There is no excuse for swearing like that in front of a three‑year‑old, especially when the unsafe cord was left out in the open by the restaurant in the first place. Whether or not my son is autistic, families should never be subjected to hostility and foul language from the owner of a restaurant. If you offer outdoor seating and leave cords and other hazards accessible, you should expect children to be curious and respond with basic courtesy, not anger. Katie and I can rarely arrive before Lynn & Lon, but we managed this time. It can be loud inside and it is difficult for me to hear conversations. But tonight the weather was nice and most diners wanted patio seating. We got a middle table inside for six. Our server, Alexia really added to the joy of seeing our southern California family. First off, when I ordered a margarita, she asked for my ID. I laughed, but she gave me a deadpan stare. I laughed again as I pulled out my wallet. Katie was incredulous. Then Alexia cracked us both up when she asked. "Is this your father's ID?" I'm in my mid-sixties and shave the minimal follicles that manage to produce after the wild ride that has been my life. "My father's ID." This girl is a hoot. I order the same dish every time: cheese enchiladas with molé sauce. I first had molé at the K street location in Sacramento in the late 90's. The flavor bouquet was amazing. This visit, I was attracted to the birria taco special and told Alexia I was torn between my usual and the birria. She responded, "May I surprise you?" Uh...okay. It was a delightful surprise indeed to have a plate brought out with one of each. It made my meal perfect! Another item from the specials menu caught my eye (wish I'd photographed the specials menu) and that was a cherry margarita. I'm fond of cherry anything. Not overly sweet, it had more going on than I could comprehend. But I'll tell you this - I'd order it again in a heartbeat. Food i I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mamma's Italian restaurant. It was indeed an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, the staff greeted us warmly and seated promptly. The menu offered a wide range of traditional Italian dishes, all prepared with the freshest ingredients and bursting with flavor. The food quality blew me away - each dish was a work of art on a plate. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the pizza had a delicious thin crust, and Every bite was a delight for my taste buds. And let's talk about the desserts - they were absolute heaven. The tiramisu was light and fluffy, the panna cotta was silky smooth, and the creme puff butterscotch creation was to die for! It was impossible to choose a favorite because they were all so delicious. But what truly set Mamma apart was the impeccable service. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable and went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was perfect. From recommending dishes to explaining the menu, they were always there to assist with a smile. Overall, I cannot recommend Mamma enough. Yikes... This restaurant is new in town so I'm hoping that the issues we experienced are simply growing pains that will be worked out in the coming weeks. Lots of things to work on. Clarity on their menu- Many people are dairy free, vegan, allergic, so it's important to note in the menu that salads come covered in cheese. And if a customer asks for a replacement because shredded parm wasn't indicated on the menu, be gracious. In general, list ingredients in full on the menu or make sure that your servers know to indicate possible allergens. The menu needs to be much more complete. If it's 30 minutes before closing with 5+ tables still bustling, and someone asks for a refill on coffee, do not tell them that you aren't planning on making anymore tonight. It's coffee and they paid for it. Put a new pot on. And lastly, when there are clearly issues (again- a new place will have kinks to work out), your servers should know how to clearly address them. read more

Prime downtown location with inviting outdoor and spacious indoor seating arrangements. But, beware, the outdoor spot gets hot in summer afternoons. Service is average, not impressive but not horrible either. The biggest downfall is the food. It tries to position itself as Italian, but the food quality is lackluster, even below average chain restaurants like Olive Garden. Needs major culinary improvements to entice repeat customers. For Italian cuisine lovers, it's currently not a recommended spot. Until the food issues are addressed, this restaurant remains a 'no-go' for me. read more

Decided to give this place second try. Just as bad as the first. The food was cold and tasted like something out of a school cafeteria. Service was lackluster and not very attentive.
