There was food and crumbs everywhere, it made us wonder about the kitchen. The waitress was friendly and helpful when she finally came up. We sat upstairs for the view. The bar was not open and totally barren so it looked unappealing. They were very slow to even get us our drinks. The menu was mainly sandwiches and pizzas. We got the burger and the balsamic pizza. I've enjoyed the food and service at Mambos since the opening...and again tonight as takeout, due to our new normal. The ingredients are consistently fresh/crisp and flavorful. Anthony has put together a menu that will keep even a large group very happy, as there are delicious offerings to meet a variety of tastes. The pizzas and calzones include fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection. The chicken wings (both bone-in & boneless) are fantastic...(sweet and spicy chili sauce). We moved to Hingham about 3 yrs ago, and never gotten around to try this place. So we just tried in via DoorDash . Delivery was good, about 30 min. Now for the important part.. I ordered a bunch of things. Wings buffalo,a 1.5 not cooked enough,a bit oily, I'm from upstate NY so as much as I did not favor, if I asked for well done crispy, maybe these could reach a 2.9. The calzone oh my God it's huge It's was soggy again not crispy on the crust. It's 12 to 14 in long not one normal size. Again it may have potential if cooked better with less add ons inside it,.rate 1.5.The pizza. well by bar stool standards the flop is huge and it's not a crispy at all bottom, I got 1 cheese 1.0 and one pizza with regatta and peppers ( they are hot), 1.9. Finally I ordered a coconut shrimp one of our favorites but this coconut shrimp should be coconut -coconut- shrimp, the coconut overpowered. Rate 2.0. additionally and finally I ordered onion rings They were awful. Once again not crispy just soggy things -1.0 So , would we go back, yes to try the bar in the summer, it looks like a nice place. For food, Jake's fried shrimp or buffalo wings ordered crispy, with their hot sauce on the side. We get there yesterday and there are 3 girls standing at the front. They ask us how many and we say 2. They say it'll be a few minutes as they have to clear off a table - why they didn't clean it ahead rather than making us wait I don't understand. We are seated and we wait for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledges us. A waitress - the only one there who looks old enough to buy alcohol - comes by and asks if anyone has helped us. When we say no she tells us she'll be right with us and comes back with menus and asks us what we want to drink. We review the menu and decide we'll split an appetizer and each get a meal. She comes back to take our order and when we order Mambo Bites she says they are out of them. I go to order a salad with grilled chicken and she informs us they are also out of chicken. This is around 3 in the afternoon -??. We say we'll need a few minutes to make a new plan. She comes back in a few minutes and we order - an appetizer and 2 sandwiches. Now the only positive thing is all the food comes out very quickly - 5-10 minutes. The dipping sauce for the calamari is a 2 oz cup that is less than half full. Once it's gone I ask a different waitress who was passing our table for 2 more cups of the sauce. She returns to tell me they are out of that sauce. I ask her if she can bring a few different sauces that might go with calamari. She returns with one sauce that was pretty good. I pick up my Wild Turkey sub and the bread is stale. I take one bite and can't eat the roll. I open up the sub and plan on just eating the turkey and bacon. The turkey is low quality processed turkey that I just can't eat. I push my plate - 95% of the sub is still there - to the edge of the table. When our waitress comes by she asks if I want to take it to go and I reply no. Isn't the next thing that should happen is her asking me if anything was wrong. Nope - she just takes it and walks away. My wife got the BBLT - the description is a regular BLT so she thought it would have a lot of bacon. Nope. One piece for her entire wrap. 2 small pieces of tomato and the rest is lettuce. She got a lettuce wrap. We ask for the check and leave. Honestly the worst dining experience I've ever had. I'd give 0 stars if I could. How they are in business I cannot fathom. read more

I was really torn between 3 and 4 stars because of extenuating circumstances: covid, obviously, but also because we came to eat at around 3 pm on a Sunday, probably after the lunchtime rush. Here are the facts: * They had run out of crispy chicken (understandable given what time we came) so someone in our party had to change their order. * 2/4 orders came without their requested modifications. Hamburger was supposed to arrive with mayo added (didn't arrive with mayo inside nor on the side). Sandwich was requested to have no cheese (came with cheese and was difficult to remove since it kinda melted into the bread). * There was a small hair on the mozzarella of a sandwich (which I just took off and continued to eat the sandwich since I am a disgusting human being. Judge for yourself how bad based on the pic.). * Asked for more water and didn't get any (understandable since a giant crowd of frat bois came in after us and all ordered drinks). In terms of food quality, the caprese sandwich was good minus the hair, the Italian sandwich was reported to be good, the hamburger was bland but fine, the bacon chicken ranch was okay. Ambience was good. The music wasn't too loud which was refreshing. We had a large party of loud partiers sat very close to us halfway through our stay which was unfortunate but prrobbbably 6' away so meh. Overall, since the prices were good and it was a nice atmosphere close to the beach, I would consider going back, but I wouldn't necessarily go too far out of the way to get there. read more

I visited this restaurant when traveling on business. It was a quick walk from my air bnb. Cute place with a decent selection of food. The wait staff was a bit slow. The food overall was comparable to bar food. There isn't alot around so for what it was it wasn't terrible but, not one of my first choices if there was any other options in town. read more

5 stars for not only the food but the service! I came here alone after an 8 hour car ride, starving and not even caring what I ate. I was expecting a quick mediocre sandwich- in and out within a half hour. However, from the second I sat down, my waitress Caroline chatted with me and welcomed me to her town! She told me all about her favorite dishes at Mambo's, her go-to spots in town, gave me parking and beach tips, and even wrote a "cheat sheet" of places to go in and around town! I was initially not expecting this when I saw how young the waitress was, but I was very pleasantly surprised! The other girls working were very friendly, too! I don't know what exactly was wrong, but essentially everything was. There was no hostess to seat us (along with 2 other parties) for over 5 minutes, leaving us loose downstairs. Also, we waited for our food for over an hour. Tables that came after us left before we had even received our food - and we didn't order anything crazy. The service in general was painfully slow since we not only waited so long for our food, but also the wait in between receiving the check and getting our cards back, asking for and receiving boxes, and ordering/ receiving drinks, etc. was excessive. I have been somewhat not enthusiastic about my beach food places here at Nantasket ever since Barefoot Bobs left, but today I have had my experience here rejuvenated! Mambo's down here just opened this summer, and I am 100% sure it will blow up. The drinks are quality, these drinks are on par with high end bars in Boston, so don't let the plastic cup fool you. I also want to note they already are using good quality fancy paper straws. This is a classy place at affordable prices. Today's trip in here for me has already got me excited to bring all my friends and family! Thanks Mambo's!!! You just made my day and the other bars should be put on notice! Nice new addition to Hull! Nice atmosphere, especially with open front. Delicious buffalo chicken bites, salad and pizza. One minor thing, I don't know if a dishwasher is in the plan or not, but I think that the quality of food calls for real plates and napkins. You can still be casual without all paper! read more

I just got take out from Mambo's. Ready in 20 minutes. It's a nice place and the roof deck is a bonus. Good size crowd for Wednesday night.
