A lovely new gem in the Courthouse area! Opening day was today, and I can't wait to go back once the line dies down. Maman is already a winner in my book because they have Zucchini Bread! It's been sooo hard to find a coffee spot in the DMV that has it, so fair warning -- if it's sold out when you visit... it's probably me!

Ma'am you better check out this new location of Maman! Located under the Commodore near the Courthouse metro, I cab definitely see this spot becoming a staple. There are tons of seating and great natural light. Maman is a chain and I appreciate the consistency across locations. I tried the seasonal honey butter latte which was delightful and I liked the cornbread component. I also tried the cookie (free for first 100 people) which was solid. Overall, definitely recommend checking this place out!

I found this place on Yelp after googling a great place to get a matcha latte in DC. The vibe in the restaurant is incredible! The flowers and set up is beautiful, super great place to have a brunch or just a chat with the girls. I saw a lot of people reading and doing work which I thought was great too. I think that a lot of the food is super pretty, especially the pastries, but I will say that I feel like they were prettier than they tasted. The croissant cube had great flavor, but it was incredibly dry and hard to cut/eat. I ended up not finishing it at all. The papa's breakfast bowl was great! I got scrambled eggs instead of over easy. It was a lot of potatoes though! I highly recommend probably splitting it with somebody or just taking it to go because I couldn't finish it. The blueberry lavender iced matcha latte was the best thing I had there. I actually ordered another one to go along with their chicken Caesar wrap for lunch. That was also fantastic. I also had a chocolate chip cookie, which I loved, and then tried their croissant as well to see if I could just get a redemption for a croissant cube. It wasn't too bad, but still kind of dry. I would love to go back again to actually sit down for more than just an hour as I was kind of in a hurry.

My girlfriend and I were on a walk and decided to stop in for a quick breakfast. We both ordered their croissant breakfast sandwich which has candied bacon, "tomato jam" (aka ketchup), eggs and cheese. She ordered their honey butter latte and I ordered a plain black coffee. You pay at the counter and they bring your food to your table. The service was fine and ambiance is pretty chill. The decor is supposed to evoke fairy garden vibes with flowery bushes wrapped around the pillars and ceiling. I didn't care for it but that's just me. The food was fine but nothing spectacular. The coffee was decent. I hope to go back to try their pastries and mixed coffee drinks soon. Glad to have something new in the area.

This new spot is the perfect addition to the courthouse neighborhood! The service is very friendly, and the food is incredible. Beyond all else, the space is gorgeous and has an amazing energy.

This recently opened Maman, located very close to the Courthouse Metro Station in Arlington, VA, features a spacious interior with high ceilings, numerous seating options, and Maman's signature floral decoration on the ceilings and the top of wooden frames, which makes it feel like having pastries and food in a Provence-style flower garden. The cafe filled up quickly right after opening, showing its popularity. The breakfast was fantastic, and the pastries and coffee were exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food we tried was outstanding. Caitlin's Breakfast Wrap, made with scrambled eggs, Gruyère cheese, candied bacon, arugula, pickled onions, and roasted tomatoes in a gluten-free wrap, was a perfectly satisfying dish that tasted so good. It was even better with Maman's chipotle aioli served on the side. The avocado tartine with salmon tasted healthy and flavorful, with bell tomatoes and smoked salmon, and it was enhanced by a sprinkle of sea salt and pumpkin seeds for added texture and nutrition. Martha Stewart's caramel cream sugar bun was perfect, featuring a not overly sweet but creamy salted caramel filling in a sugar-crusted croissant. The maple chocolate laminated brioche was equally delicious, with just the right amount of sweetness from its maple dark chocolate cream, and paired well with a cafe latte.

Stopped by Mamon on a Friday morning, and it instantly reminded me of their Union Market location tons of windows, bright, airy, and so aesthetically pleasing. Went to work and it was not too crowded, there's a long communal table that's clearly designed for people who want to settle in with a laptop, plus lots of different seating options throughout. Food & Drinks: I ordered the Vanilla Butter Latte with oat milk with their sweet corn cold foam and was absolutely delicious. It was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet . Definitely recommend! For food, I got the open-faced omelet with egg whites and candied bacon. The flavors were great and the candied bacon was a standout (sweet and flavorful, though I wish it had been a touch crispier). The roasted tomatoes were more like sun-dried tomatoes, so a bit chewy, but still tasty. The salad on top was refreshing and helped balance everything out. A little oily overall, but still something I'd order again. They don't do full table service you order at the counter, and they'll bring your food over but the staff was super friendly and attentive. The pastries looked amazing, so I'll definitely be back to try those next time. I didn't notice any alcoholic drinks or brunch-specific options, but I'll come back during happy hour to see if they expand the menu. Overall, this place is such a welcome addition to the neighborhood! Cute, bright, great food and drinks, and an ideal place to work or catch up with friends.

In terms of drinks, I tried the lavender latte and the tiramisu latte which were delicious and served me well when I needed an evening pick-me-up. And I am pretty sure every macaroon is delicious so you really can't go wrong with the flavors you choose. On separate occasions, I ended up sampling a variety of flavors, including birthday cake, hazelnut pistachio, Earl Grey, coconut, rose, blueberry lavender, and coffee. I truly appreciated how fresh and light each taste was, perfectly reflecting the artistry in the making of these macarons. The service was efficient and friendly, and the display case was a feast for the eyes--full of stunning, mouthwatering desserts. I hope everyone has as wonderful an experience as I did, enjoying both the coffee and the patisserie. Happy desserting to all!

It's rich, creamy, and decadent and tastes like dessert in a cup but isn't overwhelmingly sweet. Next up are the sweet treats and pastries. They are very reasonably priced. They have two types of chocolate croissants: one with an outer chocolate coating and one pain au chocolat. Both were slightly over $3. They also have a milky bread loaf and cakes that I still need to try. The service was quick and the cafe is located in the basement level of ballston shopping center - so it's perfect for grabbing a coffee and a sweet treat before shopping. I would highly recommend this cafe.

Now it is good but not exceptional like in the past. Their pastries are getting smaller and the prices have gone up. There is also inconsistencies in quality, with some items being slightly overcooked. Napoleons - these are about half the previous size. Still very good though. Strawberry eclair - smaller than previous. Also, the shell is consistently overcooked now. Quiches - these are around a third of the previous size. Sometimes they are overcooked and dry. Also, the mixed veggie quiche is much smaller in depth to the spinach one Various danishes (cheese, apple, cherry, sticky buns) - all around a third of their previous size. Still great quality and tasty though Sfogliatella (Italian pastry) - surprisingly, these are larger than they used to be. These are not good anymore though. The filling tastes good, but it's a weird texture now that they make it larger. The pastry shell is really hard and chewy now that they are larger. These used to be the greatest ever. It's a shame. Cannoli - tried this for the first time today. Won't ever do that again. The shell was good and crispy. The filling was a weird color and had tiny chocolate chips in it. You could tell it was several days old because the chips were soggy. Also, they filled it when we ordered it - and they just put a tiny bit of filling in it so we could actually see through the shell. Not good.

Then a neighbor brought a PbR coconut cake with lemon curd to our block party and I could not finished my slice... thin cake layers, the "buttercream" was not very buttery but sweet & gritty, what lemon curd?! At this point, there's a problem almost every time I come here, whether it's busy or not, which makes it difficult to chalk it up to normal rush-related mistakes. The biggest issue is that there doesn't seem to be any real system for catching or resolving errors once they happen. Things tend to fall through the cracks and then it becomes the customer's responsibility to chase someone down for help or follow up multiple times to get an issue resolved. What's especially frustrating is the response when issues are pointed out. Instead of feeling met with urgency, accountability, or even basic apologetic customer service, the reaction often feels confused, dismissive, or slightly defensive -- like the burden is somehow on the customer for bringing it up in the first place. Staff overall tend to seem disengaged rather than proactive about fixing problems and the general vibe is very "bare minimum" customer service. I understand mistakes happen in any busy cafe and I wouldn't leave a review over a one-off experience. But after repeated visits with the same pattern, it's hard to justify coming back. The food is genuinely good, but not good enough to outweigh the consistently frustrating service experiences. As someone local to the area, I want to feel like my business is appreciated and unfortunately I just haven't felt that here. I'd gladly come back if the service and follow-through became more consistent.
