    Green (verdes) Chilaquiles

Really glad we stopped in. It's always great to find a small local spot that clearly cares about both food and hospitality. Service was warm, welcoming, and attentive, and the space has an easy neighborhood café feel. The menu is Latin-inspired, with chilaquiles offered on weekends. They typically serve both red and green, though only green was available during our visit. I usually prefer red, but these were excellent. Bright, balanced flavors and chips that held their texture well. I ordered mine with eggs over medium and avocado, and appreciated the variety of protein options. The chorizo breakfast burrito was another standout and one of the better breakfast burritos we've had in the DMV. Simple, high-quality ingredients executed well. The house-made aguas frescas are worth trying. The jamaica was refreshing and nicely balanced. I also tried the café horchata latte. I expected more cinnamon-horchata flavor, but it was still a solid latte. Seating is limited, with only a few indoor tables and some bar seating, though patio seating appears available in warmer months. Overall, a spot we'll happily return to, especially for weekend brunch

Interior with some small tables and a bar seating. There is also outdoor seating.

Cafecito is brewing up something special with the perfect blend of coffee culture, flavorful Latin-inspired bites, and a whole lot of heart! The menu at Cafecito is full of fresh, flavorful options. The latte was strong and my caprese toast was perfectly toasted open-faced piled with ripe tomatoes and mozzarella. They have different avocado toasts and egg sandwiches, and pastries to choose from! The staff at Cafecito are incredibly warm and welcoming, whether you order online for a quick pick-up or step up to the counter. I ordered to-go and it was perfectly packaged - box and bag with handles. It has a small, cozy vibe that feels instantly inviting--think three snug tables with comfy chairs, a sunny bar counter by the window perfect for people-watching, and a few charming outdoor seats.

Tucked away in a neighborhood behind a MOM's, parking is available on the street and there may be a parking garage as well. The interior is super cute, with a few tables if you want to enjoy your coffee/food there. I had the breakfast burrito and horchata latte--both were fantastic! 10/10 would recommend.

They had a cute outdoor seating space, however it was cold and rainy so we couldn't sit there. We had the fried green tomatoes, snd both got the salmon with two sides of your choice. I got Brussels sprouts and potatoes. She got Mac and cheese and salad. The salmon was perfectly cooked and potatoes were crispy and salty on the outside and creamy potato on the inside. Yum!! We sat there until they were sweeping around our feet and they were very nice about it even then. I rarely close down a place these days, so I was grateful they were accommodating.

Let me start with the good. Our waitress, Samika, greeted us…read morewith a smile and took great care of us. She was attentive, friendly, and kept things moving. The wait wasn't long, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. They also offer a Monday-Friday happy hour from 4 PM to 6 PM, which is worth noting. Now that we've covered the positives... I came with my family, as we usually go out to eat on Sundays after church. I ordered the shrimp and grits, my sister had the dark‑meat chicken with fries, that unfortunately had to be switched when they brought her the wrong white meat, chicken and fries. My granddaughter got sausage and grits. There are no pictures of the food because I don't recommend you come here if you're looking for real southern food. I personally won't be back and won't waste storage space on disappointment. The shrimp and grits....the portion was so small, I thought they accidentally brought me the sample plate. It should honestly be listed under "Kids Menu". The menu says it comes with chorizo pork sausage, but instead of sliced pieces like normal restaurants, it was crumbled so tiny I thought it was seasoning dust. When I asked about it, they told me it's "put in very small so you don't know it's there." Well... congratulations. Mission accomplished. You get six shrimp, and they claim the dish is "spicy". Please, the spice level was somewhere between tap water and air. Then there was the chicken dish. I tasted it, and my sister will give you the full breakdown in her own review. The skin had a nice honey flavor, I'll give them that. But once you get past the skin, the chicken was out here playing hide‑and‑seek with the seasoning. Completely bland. The fries were fine, not great, not terrible, just fries. Now, the bathroom: I was unimpressed. When you walk in, there were paper towels on the floor and toilet paper in places it shouldn't be. The handicap stall does have a baby‑changing table and some extra paper towel and tissue supplies, which is helpful. However, the toilet seat covers in the handicap stall need to be replaced, even though the other stall had some available. Overall, the restroom did not feel well‑maintained. Great service can't make up for food and facilities that simply don't deliver. This was a disappointing visit, and I won't be back.

When we made the reservation in advance, we called to ask if happy hour was everywhere or just at the bar; they said everywhere, so we booked a table. Plot twist, it's only at the bar / downstairs :))) We arrived 15 minutes early, so while they got our table ready, we ordered at the bar. 5 stars for the bartender. If I could review her, the host, and the happy hour prices in isolation, I would! They moved us upstairs, we sat down, and immediately saw the menus were different. We asked the gentleman bringing waters about happy hour and he sent the waiter over. The waiter, with about 2% helpfulness, shared that happy hour is only downstairs. I mentioned that we had called in advance to ask. We asked if it would be possible to have that menu or perhaps move. The conversation felt like pulling teeth. He said, with much dismissiveness, it was up to the host downstairs to move and if they had availability and left. (Fair, we move, he doesn't get his tip. An alternative? Give us the happy hour menu, still get your tip. Better yet, just be slightly helpful?) The host downstairs found us a table but shared it was booked at 6:15 so we needed to be in and out. It was no problem because we had arrived before 5 (early, remember?). Although, it took 15 minutes (I timed it!) for anyone to come bring waters or address us as their table. A little hard to operate with urgency when no one takes your order!! I got up, told the host stand, and they sent a server over, and he proceeded to come back all of three times. We also had to flag him down to get our check, while we sat with empty waters that were never once refilled. We had pizza, cod sliders, and half orders of aglio e olio pasta. The cod sliders were more breadding than fish, but the flavor was decent. The pasta was delicious. No five star Italian meal, but it hit the spot and the portion was plentiful. I didn't try the pizza but it was 12 inches, piping hot, and the two eating it couldn't finish it. The food came out quickly and hot. I think we spent under or just about $100 for four folks to have dinner + drinks, so the prices are really solid. Perhaps you get what you pay for though? Both of our male servers seemed annoyed to be dealing with us and mostly unhelpful. Noteworthy mention: there was a female server who was kind enough to bring us a brown paper bag for our to go box. She was running around and her tables seemed well cared for. Disappointed in my experience and the customer service.

About that $23 salad: The portion is a little skeet (that's an STL term - look it up) but the chicken was honestly juicy and flavorful as hell. And, the salad was full of very fresh spinach, and maybe other greens, as well as a good dressing. They provided a healthy amount of shaved Parmesan, which is my favorite. I would definitely order this again if I knew I was going to be around for a while and really wanted a salad. The vibe inside is so cute. When we walked in, we thought it was gonna be packed because there were no reservations on OpenTable however they were able to see us right away. A very nice touch to add a stem of Rose for the women. I would say that I gave it a lower star rating not because the food was bad. It was actually delicious, but probably the experience itself. The restaurant felt chaotic, and even though all the tables were not completely packed of course there were flowers everywhere people gathering with grandmother's mother's children, etc We were seated in a two people table and all the top past dishes started to pile up very quickly. Instead of monitoring, the progress of the finished dishes and removing those dishes due to space constraint, the dishes came from the kitchen, almost on top of one another, and at one point I had to hold a dish in my hand in order to make space to put a dish on top of another flatbread pan/dish, making things super chaotic. Also dishes had to be put on top of the menu because in order to order additional food, you need to leave at least one copy of the menu at the table. Overall, again the flavors and taste were good, though I might have had similar dishes from other places, and my partner commented that some of it is actually very close to the Capital One landing at DCA. I would just say that it was more due to the chaos and just the way that all the dishes piled up on top of us we felt like we were we had to eat super quickly so that we could stack dishes ourselves and create room at the table. Also, when serving the dishes were not kept level and basically was slide to the side of the dish, making presentation off
