As someone who LOVES Mexican food, finding a truly good spot in the DMV has been a struggle. I'm always trying new places and usually leave thinking, "Well... that was disappointing." Then I found Taco Bamba, and THANK GOD. This place deserves all its flowers, and I finally understand why there are so many locations. Everything is fresh, flavorful, well-priced, and clearly made with care. The flautas with beans and veggies are SO good, the quesadillas have phenomenal cheese, and the fish tacos are delicious. I did not have much time for lunch, so I decided to get something quickly from Taco Bamba. Luckily I ordered ahead because they were pretty busy when I went to pick up. My food took a little longer than it said but it was no worries at all for me. I got the steak bowl, and wow was it good. The steak was nice and warm, and it paired so well with the quinoa, the pico and the guacamole dressing. I like that the guacamole dressing was not spicy. This bowl was a large portion and was very filling. The staff were very friendly, and were able to get through the line of people fairly quickly. The bottom line: great tacos and tortas at reasonable prices. Taco Bamba (not just this one) is one of the best taquerias in the area, hands down, thank you Chef Victor. I love the variety of traditional tacos (Al pastor pork and pineapple is a fave) and "tacos nuestros" (the arabe, a fluffy pita with grilled chicken and middle eastern flare is yum). Their sauces, particularly the green (medium) and orange (spicy), have great flavor punch. I just wish they weren't sometimes forgotten when I get take out. I've also enjoyed the tortas, gigantic sandwiches filled with anything from the menu you can imagine, and kids love the quesadillas. My family loves the guac (but mine is still better). A huge shoutout to Sofia at the Ballston location in Arlington--she is the definition of outstanding customer service! She always checks on us, makes sure everything is perfect, and genuinely makes the experience even better. Sometimes, we come here just to see her! The atmosphere is lively, with great music and TVs playing sports, and it always feels like everyone is having a great time. My only small critique is that the tacos are on the pricier side at $5 each--I think $3-$4 would be more reasonable. But this is Arlington, so it's understandable.
