Great food, perfectly cooked. Honestly I would've paid more for the meal. My family and I had the SwissRoom Melt, the Mac Dog an order of fries, Basic hot dog. The burger was clearly homemade and not frozen, the ingredients and fries seemed more "perfectly cooked" vs from out of the freezer. Would highly recommend this spot! read more

My. God. This was top tier. Best burger I've had in years. Best restaurant I've ate at within 30 minutes from me for sure. Ordered this through DoorDash and was honestly expecting a soggy ass burger (Cole slaw, chipotle mayo, tomatoes, BBQ sauce, pickles, extra patty) which would be understandable based on how I ordered it. Nope. Bun didn't rip or fall apart not one bit. Sure it was a drippy, messy concoction but Twas a masterpiece. Wish I took pictures of this beautiful mess but here we are, full and happy. Also ordered chili cheese fries w/ mac n cheese (these weren't soggy either). Big sad that they were out of chili for the day, but that's on me for ordering that close to closing. I moved to NC almost 25 years ago from California. Due to the lack of West Coast style burgers, I, a burger snob, embraced the Carolina style burger and I believe I just ate the best Carolina style burger I've ever had here at Mama Ruth's. The North Cackalacky Burger's presentation is nothing short of beautiful. The chili and slaw have the right amount of taste and texture, and the tastes dancing in your mouth will lead you to inhale this work of art faster than you think. Hand-cut fries were also perfect: right amount of salt and crispy. Yum! Service was friendly and fast. Ambiance is typical of diners around this area; think Andy's/HWY 55, but without the gimmicks. (And if you're debating between this place and the aforementioned competitor, it's not even close; Mama Ruth's takes the prize). Mama Ruth's used to bring their food truck to my job site and the food and customer service was superb! One Fridays during the day, I typically order Door Dash for lunch and when I saw that they were on the app, I had to order! The food was excellent! I had a cheeseburger and I got to choose whatever I wanted. The home cut fries were also delicious! I suggest everyone to go there! Food was delicious, staff super friendly and responsive. Only taking away a star because they were out of few things. We went to eat at a little after 1pm on a Saturday, and they were out of all chicken products, inside-out burger and ranch. There was only 2 other tables occupied when we arrived, but they said they had a big lunch rush early on so ran out of a lot. While I understand being out of the meat products because of not wanting to overstock and it spoil if not used, I don't understand condiments. My family uses ranch to dip fries instead of ketchup, so it was a little disappointing. Food Lion is a few feet away, so I would've thought they could run to grab things rather quickly if needed. read more
