The representative then hung up on me and threatened to send me to collections -- despite the fact that the issue was never resolved and the service did not work as promised. A business should stand behind its work, maintain professionalism, and treat customers with respect -- especially when dealing with health and safety concerns. If you are looking for a reliable and honest pest control company. I would strongly suggest Jeff and his team. While trying to catch rodents isn't an easy task , Jeff's team is focused to get them. Jeff has provided courtesy service under the initial inspection charge a couple times as we worked to capture these rodents. While I have been tracking down the rodents as well , last night I noticed a few tucked away on top of the refrigerator, I called Jeff and he went out of his way and came by to help capture one and set up additional traps. His rates are competitive, his service is unprecedented, always picked up the phone to talk and there to help. The capturing of rodents isn't a fun job, but Jeff and his team make it more comfortable capturing them. read more

This review is not for their quality of work but for the owner, Jeff Simons who is a scumbag as other reviews alude to. My HOA sent a work order to them for a rodent mitigation issue in a common area I brought up during a Board meeting and Malang sent the bill to me instead of the HOA. The HOA confirmed this was an error and that they would pay the bill. I also told Jim who kept calling me about the unpaid bill that I had nothing to do with Malang and that the HOA confirmed the bill should have been sent to them. Long story short the HOA didn't pay the bill (their fault) so this scumbag sent the bill to a collection agency in my name instead of the HOA without warning. I hired a lawyer and threatened a lawsuit against both parties and ultimately the HOA apologized for their mishap and paid the invoice and contacted the collection agency to clear my name. Yes, my HOA screwed up and as a result our property manager was fired, but Malang should have pursued them as I had nothing to do with this whole situation. My lawyer said they most likely did this because it's easier to pursue an individual than a property management company that has corporate lawyers. Jim ignored all my calls after I received the letter from the collection agency and never once apologized for the fraud he perpetuaded. My lawyer said I could still sue him for fraud if the collection agency would not remove the debt from my credit report but they did eventually. Stay away from this company as the owner is unethical. read more

We've had them for pest service for a while, but they noted we had termites. Offered a free inspection (part of our contract) and came back with a plan - which we agreed to. Our guy was super, SUPER conscientious! White glove treament included cleaning up any sawdust & debris from treatment, but also took shoes off before entering home, remembered to turn off attic light (almost ALWAYS forgotten) and put the cover back on the attic side access (a somewhat complicated affair). All for a very reasonable cost and they communicated quickly and effectively exactly when he'd arrive. We're a happy subscriber! read more

I spoke to him about canceling my service - they were not able to live up to their contract and had to refer me to some other company - who helped with my situation. After a half hour of talking to JACK he said he would cancel my service and I wouldn't be charged any more money. BASTARD took out almost $300.00 for a cancellation fee. AVOID THIS COMPANY at all COSTS. What a piece of work. I really thought it'd be sustainable to just keep using Terra baits over and over and over again... but you know, it really wasn't. We saw ants in our condo (primarily in the bathrooms but also in some other random spots like along the baseboard or walls in other rooms) over and over and over again over the past few years and while they were annoying, I couldn't justify the $ of a pest control service, so we tried using bait and it would work initially but then they'd just pop up in some other spot, even with caulking up every spot we could find. We finally gave up when it started getting ridiculous and we couldn't use both of our bathrooms because ants were always coming out of one or the other and we had to check for them every morning... truly absurd. I read through some Yelp reviews and picked Malang after a really nice initial phone call with Jeff. Jeff came out quickly, brought his products with him, looked at our situation, explained what was happening, and used his professional-grade products that apparently you can't buy as a consumer, and they put Terra to shame. I will say it wasn't a one quick fix - he had to come back a couple times and we did see residual ants every once in a while, but it has been SOOOOOO much better than previous years/seasons. After those first few initial visits, it seems like we've really nipped it in the bud and the monthly charges just remind me how grateful I am that we haven't seen ants in the previous month. It's definitely a financial commitment - you pay a small initial cost and then monthly for a year at least, but the peace of mind is great. They come for quarterly maintenance (outdoors) and you can call any time if you're having issues and depending on what it is they'll advise you and/or come out. Given where we live (Irvine), I expect we will see ants again here and there... but knowing we can call Malang to come address it asap is really reassuring. read more

We've had ant problems every summer, naturally, when the weather gets hot and would never get resolved. We've had the community pest control come out many times to no resolve, tried to fix it ourselves but the ants would keep coming back. Alas, we called Malang after getting tired and Jeff was able to come out in a short notice and do a one time service. He came promptly on time, had all his equipment and posted gels everywhere. The community pest control would ask us to step outside so we would never know where he would be spraying, whereas Jeff followed me around and made sure to treat every place of concern. I have to say, we haven't seen a single ant after that and it's been a month. They usually come back but they never did. No one came that I know of nor did anyone notify me that someone would be coming. I guess the only way I can get a response is to put a poor review on Malang. Poor customer service. I have been contacted by Mr. Simmons and we discussed the terms of the contract. I believe I had a misunderstanding of the billing process and he clarified that with me. I had a really bad ant infestation/colony that was in the walls and floors of my apartment. They were coming into every room. Once I would either seal up a hole or spray an area, they would find another place to come in. I had tried Terro baits, Advion Ant Gel and Advion Bait Arenas which only worked for a little bit and then they would return in full force in another part of my apartment. It was a complete nightmare every day and my apartment management was no help. They kept wanting to put a band aid fix on the situation by just spraying the base boards and surface areas, which would only kill the ants on contact it would not kill the colony or the queen. After doing a ton of research on ants, I knew it had to be treated in the walls with something that the worker ants would take back to the colony & queen. I decided to hire my own exterminator and called around to several places and almost all of them kept wanting to just spray the baseboards & surface areas, which again would only kill the ants it contacted and wouldn't take out the colony or queen. Being concerned about my health and the environment, I wanted to find out what the name of the products they would be using. And most wouldn't tell you the products, which didn't make me feel comfortable at all. Then I found Malang and called Jeff on a Saturday. Jeff took the time to talk to me and explain how they would treat this infestation. He willingly gave me the names of the products he would use. And he set up the appointment within a few days with Mike. Mike was great. He came in and treated inside the wall voids, behind the wall switches and outlets.
