Malai Kitchen - GF Drunken Noodles and GF Street Fried Rice - Thai Near Me - Dallas, Texas

Excellent creative fresh food. Has their green curry which was unusual for Thai. Uniquely subtle and a darker green. The Vietnamese noodle salad was delicious. Lots of fun drinks - alcoholic and non. The only thing keeping me from five stars was the dessert. The mango sticky rice was not made with the same love, attention to detail and freshness that everything else was. It looked beautiful in a coconut shell but the rice wasn't very sweet. The condensed milk was thin and watery and the mango was not fresh and in the tiniest pieces. read more

My friend David and I had a wonderful dinner here tonight. Our server Omar, was incredibly attentive and kind. We were surprised to find out it was just his first week working at the restaurant! He was so nice and knowledgeable about the menu! We sat in the outdoor area, next to a giant money tree - the ambiance was lovely. Food was absolutely delicious. So happy that Omar suggested the coconut gelato because it was great! 5 stars and will definitely be back to request Omar as our server. read more

Good food. Friendly staff. Really good authentic Thai. Good drink selection. Modern take on Asian style with bamboo light fixtures.

Nice decor and food. we didn't have to wait long to be seated, the service was fast. server took good care of us, I will definitely be back. read more

I wanted so much to like the food, but it was just not good. The curry crab dip was just a mistake to order. The shrimp chips alone were tastier than with the crab dip on them. My daughter had the cod. The cod portion was very small and she couldn't have the rice so she was very disappointed, and the meal left her hungry. My mother had the tacos and she did enjoy those. The fresh rolls were also disappointing-the equivalent summer rolls are better tasting just about anywhere else. I had the pad Thai-it was just okay. And the meal was *pricy.* I just hate leaving bad reviews. :-( read more

I love Thai food. This "Spicy Jalepeno basil margarita" with their green curry is so great tonight! The vodka is specially infused with Jalepeno just for Malai. So crazy good! Preston Center location. read more

My family and I's go to spot. We used to drive down to west village to eat here, but this location is much more roomier so we go here now. I always get the pad thai with chicken and shrimp and it has literally never disappointed me. More Absolute musts are the Vietnamese meatballs and any of their rices. Delicious. This food also stores pretty well so if their portions are too big for you the staff will happily pack it up for you. The best part of Malai is that it can be a casual brunch or a nice little outing. The vibe is super versatile and the food is amazing - no reason not to try! read more

Great food and outstanding service! We came in on a busy Saturday night. We were seated almost immediately. Throughout the meal, we were impressed with the service. We had a primary server but many other people helped make the dining experience go smoothly. We never sat for more than a few minutes with dirty dishes in front of us. And everyone was friendly and efficient. Now to the food. The highlights were the mussels and the drunken noodles. The mussels were in a delicious coconut and lemongrass broth that was so rich and flavorful. The serving size was enough for 3 people to share as an appetizer. The drunken noodles were rich and savory. The beef was well cooked and had a sweet glaze. Very tasty! The seared Ahi spring rolls were also quite good. The tuna was fresh and the dipping sauces were a great compliment. We also had the Panang curry and the Pad see ew. They were good, but not outstanding. There are many great options on the menu to explore. read more

Malai Kitchen - Mussels!!! - Thai Near Me - Dallas, Texas

I will give 2 for the ambience and some of the entrees but come on you take a kawan frozen parotta and present it to us as crispy roti ? Come on you can do this better and I am not a stranger to roti prata .. no dipping sauce either and you charge extra for that We were given beef samosas stating they were vegetarian samosa until we figured that out and the waitress wasn't even sorry about it The drinks are good .. the food not worth the money If you like salt in your food , bring your own salt .. or be ready to use theirs .. regardless you will end up using it .. then why have a chef read more

Great place. Crab dip with shrimp chips, go mild. Medium is still pretty hot. Sea bass cooked well and great presentation with the sticky rice. Staff was great as well. It made the list for another visit when in Dallas. read more

We went into Malai at Luther Lane in Dallas Texas Todau. We typically go to the Southlake Texas location and found out the Taylor Hamilton the Mgr changed locations so we went to visit her in Dallas. The experience in Dalllas was amazing amazing one. The atmosphere was so peaceful and the food was great. What impresses us about Taylor is she is not just a Mgr although she actually pitches in rolls up her sleeves and does what it takes to get the job done. She will take orders, serve water, take orders, at the table, seat you greet you and make you feel welcome. She leads by example We drive from Southlake to see Taylor we enjoy her. So much!!! A loss at Southlake although she will be such a benefit anto the Dallas location!!! We will Miss her but will drive to the Dallas location to see her!!! You have an amazing gem in her!!! Hard worker such An amazing example and definitely a Manager that will bring Malai to the next level when we thought of where we would go for our dinner dates Taylor was part of our decision! We walk in the door she greets us by name and knows what our drink order is and what we like to eat!!! Such a gem and a valuable employee!!! You are so very fortunate amd blessed to have her!!! read more

Malai Kitchen - Thai Near Me - Dallas, Texas

Have had some great things but ordered the imperial rolls and chicken pho and both dissappointed. The imperial rolls were delicious but tiny - came in four and felt like the size of my index finger. The chicken pho had chicken that was way overcooked and had almost a bbq flavor as though it was left over from something else. read more

This is a modern take on fusion Of Thai and Vietnamese. They make their own beer and the thai pa was delicious and complements their dishes. Enjoyed a gravy with sticky rice in a banana leaf, very pacific island. I got a Thia coffe with coconut milk instead if condensed milk and actually liked it better. Accent of cocoanut on top. Thai tacos with shrimp were crispy which was a little Tex Mex, I was expecting corn tortillas but still good flavors. Served with limes and a aioli that was a little mild for "medium." Drunken noodles were perfect. Medium spicy with great bold seasoning. Also very attentive service pushes it to a 5 :) read more

Service is excellent, the space is nice but there was something off about the food. My pho broth tasted off, and the Vietnamese coffee tasted off. I don't know if they're doing something to try to appeal to some sort of wider clientele but I haven't had problems with these food choices in multiple Vietnamese restaurants I frequent. read more

Stopped in tonight. Awesome service, ambiance and food. Not too pricey and worth it. We will be coming back again and soon!

Normally I don't eat Thai food and is not one of my favorite cuisines. But recently tried this place last weekend and the food was absolutely great. Will definitely be coming back for more thai food. We are vegetarian and they customized all dishes to be vegetarian friendly. Had papaya salad, drunken noodles with tofu, glass noodles, mango sticky rice and coconut gelato. read more

Great food and even greater service. Omar went above and beyond of being a server. Highly recommend!

Loved the food and the vibe. Very well priced and definitely will come again! Staff was super friendly too

The food here is REALLY good! Everything is made with fresh ingredients and needs no salt/pepper added to it. The flavors are spot on! I had the lamb shank and it was excellent! It was made with the masaman curry. The flavors just blow up in your mouth. The meat was very tender and didn't need to use a knife to cut it. The portion size is huge. I had left overs. The service is ok, but the bar stays busy. I had to ask for refills for my drink a few times. I really love the food here and that's what keeps me going back. I have not had a bad meal here yet. I highly recommend this restaurant. The menu is extensive and every dish that I saw come out to the floor likes amazing! I will keep going to this restaurant whenever I have a taste for something flavorful & ethnic. read more

I went about a month ago for a dinner date and we absolutely loved it! Ambiance was nice and perfect for date night setting. I had a fish dish which is one of their known specialties and it was delicious and flavorful as well as cooked perfectly. Drinks were good as well. Only grievance, I went yesterday for takeout and got a yellow chicken curry and a yellow tofu curry and ordered them both "medium" spice. They had absolutely no flavor and furthermore no hint of spice. For quite an expensive curry I did expect more and was disappointed. Hopefully I just got a bad chef that day or they need to clarify their spice levels. I will be going again, but really hope I don't have this issue again. read more

I recently dined at Malai Thai and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The restaurant offers fantastic patio seating, allowing guests to enjoy their meal in a delightful outdoor setting. The ambiance was both relaxing and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a summer evening dinner. The food at Malai Thai was very close to good, however, the fish curry was a little shy on salt causing all the flavors to be muted. The chicken pad kee mow was pretty standard but overall tasty. read more

Just left the place. 2/18/2023. The Pho was really awful, no/zero flavor. I had the dish replaced with some beef dish with rice. It was so, so at best. I tried to add seasoning to both dishes but the flavor stayed bland. This is really not Thai/Asian food. Don't know what you would call it. I guess it's suitable for the local HP crowd but not for this asian. read more

Great food, great ambience and great service. Our family enjoyed the food being served there.

We searched this place out based on a friend's glowing recommendation and they did not exaggerate! This upscale Thai restaurant was amazing without breaking the bank. My husband ordered the yellow curry ($17) and thought the vegetables were especially fresh and the curry sauce itself had delicious spice. No heat with his "mild" request. After reading their "recommendations" blurb in the menu, I had to try one of their specialty seafood dishes. The ruby trout ($25) was an amazing culinary experience! With yellow curry and chopped peanuts on the fish, a flavored jasmine rice (it was green!), and green salad with grapefruit segments, I was very satisfied. But wait, there's more! We highly recommend sharing the banana custard. Its the perfect ending to a delightful dinner! read more

Easy and quick to get to go food. I had the drunken noodles with chicken which were pretty good, a little different than I've had them before. Had to dock a star for the bone I got in my food, but it happens sometimes so I'm not really upset. read more

Was there for a birthday dinner. The staff was amazing. Very attentive and the wait staff supported each other. Very nice touch . The atmosphere is very nice, some low lighting to make it more intimate. They have a wine cellar to boot. The drinks that we ordered were on point. One order a jalapeño margarita and it's about time you tasted the spiciness of the jalapeño. I've ordered at differ places but this was the best. Someone else order the Lemongrass drink as well . A few of Pad Thai dishes, a trout dish, drunken noodles with brisket, yellow curry no chicken dish. I am going to start with the drunken noodles dish with brisket was not my choice but I will be ordering that next time I go! It was delicious bite that I had, very flavorful. Onto the Pad Thai with chicken (medium spicy). It was good, but the spiciness wasn't carried thru the entire dish. It was like the top portion was all the top but as I made my way to the bottom it was a little bland, I ate all of it to say the least because it was good. If you haven't been now your chance to try it out! read more
