This place has good not great sushi and a great happy hour (angry hour) menu but they get a one star because every time I go I am charged a higher price than what is listed on the menus paper or electronic. This has happened 4-5 times at a significant upcharge. I bring it up to the staff but it keeps happening. Keep feeling like i'm getting ripped off and sadly can't go back. Food was extremely mid. Service was not good and super slow. I had egg rolls, sushi, and vegetable rice. The vegetable rice lacked flavor and was sent back. Worker said "well you ordered vegetable rice not chicken or beef" doesn't matter. It should have flavor regardless. I won't be coming here again. read more

The service right away was out of the park. One of the workers, "Tina" looked like she was done with her shift, but when she saw us walk in she didn't hesitate to walk right back in and serve my friend and I. AMAZING Valentine's experience! We went out to an early dinner with our toddler. The service was wonderful. Our waitress helped us choose an allergen and child friendly option for our son. He loved it! Our food was delicious and affordable (especially at happy hour prices). At the end of dinner they surprised us with a free slice of red velvet cake to celebrate Valentine's Day. There was one order on the countertop (mine) and yet still the employee checks high and low and her cell phone to confirm that it is my order. Who else's would it be lady?!?!? Sake and sushi were delicious!! There were good combinations and everything we tried was satisfying -- Saki Maki, Firecracker and Manny. The white peach sake was a good option out of several enticing ones. To top it off, the Valentine's Day velvet cake was sooooo good. Maki Toki is my favorite, hidden gem! I go here when I want more of a lowkey vibe without sacrificing quality. I've been several times over the last 4 or 5 years and I have been consistently impressed. It's never super busy, the staff is super chill and friendly, and the prices are hard to beat! So yummy!! I got the Tima roll, the crunchy shrimp - not fried (pictured) and the firecracker but we subbed crab! All so yummy!! The Tima was my favorite. Shrimp friend rice also had a great flavor, I could smell it while it was being cooked. I got a small miso & seaweed salad. Both hits! I love that they're open till 11. My husband and I had such high hopes for this place, as the pictures looked good and it's pretty close to home. However, everything was so disappointing. When we walked in, we noticed that there weren't but two other people there, at 6PM, but it was a Wednesday, so we thought maybe thats why. We were greeted by the waitress, and asked if we could sit at the bar. She told us that was allowed because of "Covid". Okay, no problem, we sat in a booth. We then began looking over the menu, which is structured really poorly, does not have good descriptions of the rolls, and is not even in alphabetical order so you can find them easily, from what's on the happy hour menu. It was such a mess. We ordered 3 rolls and when they came out they looked so sloppy and messy. They all fell apart when trying to eat them. And the wasabi was so old it wasn't even spicy anymore. The Rainbow roll, which is normally my favorite was a joke. The fish on top was so thin and tasteless. It looked and tasted like it was all frozen. I then ordered a spicy scallop roll and when I took my first bite it tasted rotten and old. I of course sent it back in fear of food poisoning. By this time my husband and I both realized that the waitress and the 'chef' were now maskless.. which begs the question on why we couldn't sit at the bar if they are sooo worried about covid? Bottom line, this place needs a lot of work to be considered a sushi restaurant. We will not be back, and do not recommend to anyone. read more

As soon as I opened the box, the smell was so fishy. The rolls I got had shrimp, crab, and tuna. All three were so rubbery, and the rice was so hard almost like it was old, I couldn't chew it. And the seaweed wrappers were also really soggy and un-chewable. Even the ginger tasted old/expired. Picked up Togo because of Covid 19, very friendly staff but the sushi is horrible and the fish taste like rubber It was also really warm beware if you go here !!!!!! We haven't eaten here since it opened a few years back but glad we stopped in again and tried a chicken katsu lunch bento box. The katsu was delicious and plentiful. We also really enjoyed the dipping sauce and other accompaniments. Pretty good deal too price-wise and out quick so it's great if you're in a hurry for lunch. We noticed they had tacos listed on the menu for around $2.50 each so we'll have to see what that is about one day. Regardless, their lunch menu has lots of selections so I know we'll be back to try some other things. read more

I also ordered a few pieces of sashimi and it was clear that the "sushi chef" had no actual training in her craft, because the cuts were just clumsily hacked off and the quality was nowhere near deserving of the price. The yellowtail sashimi was also nearly frozen in the middle. The place has potential with better kitchen staff, or even acceptable with lower prices, but you can pay about the same at an upscale sushi joint for better quality food. read more
