Self storage is always a royal pain: locations typically aren't convenient, it's often impossible…read moreto park a large truck on the premises, and then, you're always wondering whether your items are safe from theft and protected as much as possible from the elements. Further, most places stack their contracts against you, making it a hassle to terminate your agreement once the need for storage ends. In short, it's almost impossible to go through a storage term without some degree of inconvenience. Deep Ellum Storage, however, sets a new mark in what a storage center should be. It has a convenient downtown location, its design allows you to bring even a large truck directly up to your unit (no need to push carts down hallways or into elevators), and the place is across the street from the police department. But beyond location and design, Deep Ellum Storage's biggest asset is its owner, Ed, who couldn't have been nicer to my wife and me. His prices are fair and flexible, he runs a tight ship, and his business is b.s. free. After a year of storing the contents of my home in one of the units, I went to Ed to close out my contract, expecting that I would have to go get some document notarized and signed in blood in order to be able to exit the agreement in 30-60 days. Ed, however, told me that he had taken care of everything, and that he hoped to see us again soon. Who else in his business does that? I couldn't have asked for a better storage experience, and highly recommend Deep Ellum Storage.

Listen up, I have moved many, MANY, many times but NEVER had the satisfaction of saying that a move…read morewas executed perfectly. Today that changed. Two movers showed up promptly, worked quickly and efficiently, never inconvenienced me or complained. And remained happy, upbeat and polite. The jaded building manager at my condo complemented their politeness and respect for the property. They were phenomenal. They worked SO fast and SO hard in this scorching heat and never complained. I had a large one bed room and I moved from Dallas to Houston SAME DAY at very short notice (I set up my move Monday or Tuesday and moved Saturday). And I have a ton of stuff. Prices were extremely fair and competitive. NOTHING was damaged and they even put things as they were labeled, where they belong.

Mendel told me the first month was free and $260 after. the first month I was charged $1,088. denoted from my account. Memdel stated I had to pay two months and would receive a credit of $488. I have been waiting over a month for that. Just to end my business with them I got a new storage unit, with another company. they deliver my stuff and tell me I have a balance of $4728.50. I have been calling and sent several emails to Mendel all day. He has not gotten back to me as yet. and it is now 6:36 pm. This is the worse company. you might pay more but use a better company.

She went above and beyond to show that she really cared about My situation - - - a brief summary let's just say that the storage unit that I already paid monthly for with a different company was not open on a Sunday morning and I was unable to move in my whole apartment from an emergency flooding, which had to happen that day. I came by here to this location and Deborah efficiently toured everything the facility had to offer, explained to me all of the amazing promotions all of that and got me inside a new climate conditioned unit with things moving faster than I could even imagine! 100% the fastest I've ever seen timewise! Bottom line. If you have been treated as less at another place or if you're a first timer needing some storage expertise, Deborah and the staff at this location WILL make it happen! :-)

Moving from Dallas to California, we needed a storage unit and chose Public Storage near our home…read more The starting rate was $99.00 per month, which seemed reasonable at the time. However, over the course of a year and a half, the monthly cost increased to more than $220.00. We called multiple times asking if the rate could be reduced. Each time, we were told that they had already lowered it twice and there was nothing more they could do. I also tried contacting the corporate office, but the representative I spoke with appeared to be working remotely and communication was difficult. According to the representative, notices about the rate increases were mailed to us. Unfortunately, we had moved and forgot to update our mailing address, so we never received those letters. Why not email us or send a text!!! That said, we didn't need a letter to notice the increases--we saw the higher charges every month on our Chase bank statement. Because of these constant price increases, we have decided to move to another storage facility. Unfortunately, the cost of relocating our belongings will now exceed $1,000, making the situation even more frustrating. Based on our experience, I would strongly caution others to carefully review the terms and potential rate increases before choosing Public Storage.
