To start off- I could not decide what drink to get, it was taking me well over 10 minutes to really gather what their tasting notes were, as I was reading over and contemplating, the host came over and asked if I needed any help, thank god he did. He helped explain the flavor of the drinks (ie how strong the absinthe licorice flavor would be) and help me figure out which one to try from there. Both drinks I had ended up being delicious and not at all too absinthe forward. I came here with my friend that is a pescatarian and gluten free and there were options for all of us to share still and enjoy. The scallop crudo was phenomenal. I didn't expect much even when my friend said it was good until we had one order, and had to get a second. Oysters were delicious and the staff helped us figure out which ones to get based off tasting notes and size we usually prefer. Overall service here was amazing and I love the decor and food. Definitely nice for a special occasion or treat yourself meal.
A New Orleans style Oyster raw bar in the heart of Williamsburg Brooklyn. Bar itself is very busy on the weekends and the back courtyard is by reservation only. There are tables on the sidewalk for walk-ins however. Highlights include extensive list of raw oysters from east and West Coast and a wide range of small plates. There is also a creative cocktail list and many wines available by the glass. Consider yourself very lucky if you are able to snag a seat at the actual Oyster bar itself.
Do not bring a date here. Well, actually do bring a date here. Because even if it goes poorly at least it will go poorly next to a cold martini, moody lights, and a sexy bar. An absolute gem of a bar. There is a reason everybody answers maison premiere when talking martinis and oysters. They just do it better. Attention to detail is there. Temperature there. Vibes? There. It's moody, but fast. Dim, but lively. It is everything you want in a cocktail bar, and then some! Workers are awesome. Knowledgable, friendly, and beautiful curators of a lovely martini!

I originally had a rezzie for 10pm, but we were running late. Luckily they were able to fit us in even tho we lagged about 30 mins. I honestly know nothing about absinthe, so I just picked something random. I think I ordered the Jade Edouard ($19). I mean, it was fine. One of friend said typically they make it in front of you with the drip, sugar, etc. I didn't even know what that meant when he said it. Had to ask for further explanation. Would have been fun to see it, but it was late and dark. Not sure how much we would've seen at the table? The space itself is very pretty. We actually went to the back patio to take some pix while waiting for our drinks. Lots of greenery. The whole space is very reminiscent of what I would imagine was an house in New Orleans back in the day. Fun place for a last drink. I wouldn't mind coming for an oyster happy hour of sorts. Cute, elegant cocktail bar (I think they also serve oysters but I didn't have them) Stopped in around 4pm on a Sunday and was able to snag a seat for one at the bar. Around 4:30, it suddenly got crowded and every seat was taken. They specialize in absinthe cocktails but I actually tried their Old King Cole martini that is shaken in front of you. It was one of the best martinis I ever had. It's different because they use orange bitters and this cool gin from the UK called Old Raj. It is pricey at $28. My bartender was awesome (didn't get his name though!) The sound level was average in the bar, and the I enjoyed the lowkey decor and dim lighting.
Came here because I follow the guys from TopJaw, and I was not disappointed! The vibes are immaculate! It felt like I walked into old world, New Orleans with some of the strongest martinis I've ever had. Our waiter was super attentive to us, and suggested delicious champagne, a great hibiscus margarita, and the blind lemon Jefferson fizz. I def will come back
Maison Premiere isn't just another oyster bar flexing aesthetics and overpriced cocktails. This place gets it. I came in with one mission, high-brine oysters, and the waiter didn't just take the request seriously, he turned it into a curated experience. I asked for the briniest on the list and instead of rattling off names, he just asked how many I wanted and disappeared. Came back with Orient Point, Edgewater, and Pemaquid; Three absolute masterpieces. Salty, fresh, clean. It was like licking the Atlantic in the best way possible. On the side: warm olives that made me question every sad bar olive I've ever eaten, steak tartare that was rich but balanced, and two drinks, The Shining Path and a Piña Colada. The bartenders looked like they were drowning in orders and still turned out flawless drinks. Vibes? Immaculate. Crowd? Chill but not dead. Ambiance? Romantic enough for a date, casual enough for solo oyster slurping. Zero complaints. I left buzzed, satisfied, and already planning a return. This spot delivers on every level.
Wow! Loved Maison Premiere, from the vibes to the food to the service. Everything was perfect. The menu is pretty extensive, including their wine, oyster and cocktail list. Our waiter, Antonio was so great. He really made the experience because he was so knowledgeable and gave us the best recommendations based on our preferences. My bf got the tableside sazerac service and that was quite cool to see. I don't normally like mezcal but I did enjoy my mezcal cocktail that Antonio recommended, which was pretty fruity/floral forward as I had asked. Onto the food - I was overwhelmed by the oyster choices so we just decided to trust Antonio. My favorite was the Hood Canal! The scallop was amazing and honestly the bread that came with the steak tartare was probably the best bread I've ever had. Do not skip the pasta and the short rib was a solid choice as well. I don't love visiting restaurants more than once due to the abundance of restaurants in NYC but I'll surely make my way back here.
From Absinth to several rewarding plates, which were shared, the kitchen and raw bar exceeded our expectation. Our meals were prepared and presented with precision. Lamb saddle cooked to perfection with an amazing jus...Halibut paired with a Clam Chowder esque chunky broth. 2 winners*****
Stopped in for a post dinner drink and this place was absolutely incredible! The vibes were immaculate and you really feel like you have been transported back in time while you are there. I haven't tried absinthe much and our server was really helpful and walked us through the menu to help us decide what to get. Didn't try any of the food so I can't speak to that but the drinks were delicious!
the biggest selection of oysters ive seen so far in new york. lots of fresh and tasty oysters, familiar and new. vibes inside were very nice and warm, love the decor and the uniforms (feels like id been transported to a different time). dirty rice was a yummy bite as well, lots of good sharing items here. one thing that was interesting was while sitting at the bar they were making our drinks and dropped a glass and spilled glass and ice all over us haha. luckily didnt hurt us but i thought theyd comp the drink or something. would go back though, such a cute spot.
I went with my friend who lives nearby to this place. As he called it. This place has European vibes. It's an old school inspired decor. Reminded me of the le labo distressed look. Anyway we sat outside in the middle of high summer in Brooklyn vibe. The service was slow but it all worked. The cocktails looked amazing. We ordered oysters, mackerel crudo, mussels, crab toast. My friend had the steak tartar. It was all superb. My favorite dish was the crab toast. So light and had a tingle of jalapeños. It's a must! The mussels were great but I found the clams that were in the mussels to be the best part. Can't wait to go back.
I was beyond charmed by my experience here. The restaurant is quaint and inviting. I really loved the bar being featured in the middle. Beyond the ambiance, the service really stood out. We received a 5 star dining experience which really left me awe. The food was beyond fresh and everything tasted wonderful. Stand out dishes were the La Maison tower, Lobster roll and I personally loved the semi sweet/salty whipped cheesecake dessert. I cannot wait to go back. Such a cute upscale date spot. Do not come in the summer however there is no air conditioning. Every drink I've had is on the strong side but still good. This is not a dinner place it's all small plates so don't come expecting a dinner menu. read more
Been here a total of three times over several years (just on splurge days) and each time I love the food. Getting in is always hard whether it be due to over crowding or nasty humans and their horrid views. However this time around we did not feel nor see anything of the sort. Perhaps they have learned or maybe they just need anyone's money now. Came in with a weeks long craving of oysters hoping to satiate my mind and body. Started with a tasty, not so little, cocktail (Chiapas Sling which seems to be my go to drink here). With my taste buds doing happy flips I couldn't wait to stuff myself silly with oysters galore. After my 24th oyster and one mammoth sized clam (that thing needed to stay put in the ocean0_o) I had to call it quits. As my first time getting full off of oysters I ended my night on a very happy note. Overall a great spot for taking your time to enjoy some fresh raw treats. read more

Probably my favorite place to get oysters in the city! The sheer variety and quality of oysters and clams really stands out - I loved getting to try the gigantic cherrystone clams and sewanescott oysters. I would also recommend trying out the bread & seaweed butter (absolutely love, I would slather this butter on anything), crudo and their drinks (the Golden Cup Julep is delicious)! Already planning my next visit here and hopefully I can snag a table under the lush green canopy in the garden area this time :) read more

I was thrilled to dine at Maison Premiere again for date night with my boo. We started off by creating our own lip color and then headed for an early dinner. I loved the oysters and cocktails, but the warm food was pretty bland. I had beef cheeks with rutabaga puree and glazed carrots that were, unfortunately, not glazed at all. He ordered a lobster roll, which was mediocre, and we also tried the clam toast, but I had to send it back--it was dry and nothing like I expected. I'm not a fan of fennel, but it just lacked flavor overall. Our waiter, Gray, was fantastic, and Carling took over when Gray went on break. We sat in the garden, and even Tom and Jerry showed up for dinner! I'd recommend the cold plates, drinks, and bread, but skip the entrees. The beef cheeks were cooked perfectly but just didn't have any flavor. I've had much better lobster rolls elsewhere. I'll definitely return, just not for dinner. read more
Came here to get a drink and it was super busy by the bar. The bar area is nicely dim. The menu has a cool assortment of drinks and focuses on absinthe based drinks. We got two different absinthe drinks which were solid, but not sure we'd get again. Would try the oysters though next time! read more

Highly recommend and definitely make a reservation beforehand! Walk up wait times were around 2 hours on a Saturday night. The hostess, Sarah, was beyond incredible in helping to accommodate our group and she made our night! The ambiance in the back patio especially on a warm night is incredible. We did family style for several dishes on the menu and loved each one - our waiter helped to group them into courses for a good flow and table space. Seafood was fresh and food and flavors were well prepared. Inside seating seemed a little loud but still great vibe. read more

This might be my new favorite place in the neighborhood. Everything is impeccable - from the food, to the ambiance, to the drinks. This place does not miss. It's a really cozy & intimate spot - you should definitely try to get seated in the garden area if you can - it gives secret garden vibes in the middle of Williamsburg. They have a great rotating selection of oysters & other raw bar options & the staff is all very helpful & knowledgeable. The other food options are great as well - their beef cheek is one of the best things I've had & so so tender. The drinks are ammmmmazing too - I'm a fan of their coconut drink as well as their king cole gin martini, which is mixed table side. It definitely gets busy on the weekends, so be sure to make a res :) read more

Jack is an incredible server! Being from the south, it was great to speak with someone with NOLA roots just like me. The ambiance here never fails, and they made it extra special for my best friends birthday. The food also never fails. We have been here multiple times for oysters, but we decided to get more off the main menu for my bff's bday. Cocktails and food are always an 11/10. We will continue to be a returning customer as long as we live here! read more

It's good to be back. I was happy to hear that Maison Premiere reopened last year. I wandered in around 5pm on a Friday and was able to snag a stool at the bar. (Reservations recommend) you have a 2 hour limit I went with a pimms cup and 1/2 dozen oysters. read more
We didn't have reservations and they were nice enough to promptly seat us in their garden area! The indoor area smelled musty to me. The decor felt like it brought you back in time and it was so serene and peaceful. I love it! The food and service was okay, the politeness seemed too forced and they had trouble with my rose and the Bloody Mary should be re-branded as a Mini Mary. Oysters were fresh and cod app was a great creamy and crunchy addition too the raw oysters. read more
This was hands down the BEST OYSTERS I have tasted in such a long time, especially to find them in Brooklyn. We came around 1030, and it was still very crowded for a Saturday with no reservation, so we got very lucky because people were getting turned away. The kitchen was closed, but we didn't care. we really came for the oysters, and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT AT ALL. Even the shrimp cocktail was fresh and sweet (4 pcs 3.75). We ordered a dozen and about 4 different choices, but these were FRESH BABY!!!!! I ordered the draft BIPA "BANG," & this was good if love, well crafted beer from Brooklyn. Then I ordered the Maison Pina Colada, and this was soooooo freaking good HANDS DOWN! The Cinnamon and the fresh mint with shaved lemon on top. This was definitely the showstopper. Also, if you are into Absinthe, this place is for you. The place is vintage shaped as a horseshoe, and this was very sexy and cute, but it gets tight when crowded. It was an awful experience. The food and drinks were good, but the hostess was horrible. We made a reservation ahead of time and reserved seats at the Oyster bar. We arrived on time, but the hostess gave us two seats at the regular bar instead of the Oyster bar which we had reserved!!!!! She was not nice at all. We wanted to order the La Maison platter, a large tower of food, which was difficult to eat at the packed front bar where people were elbow to elbow. The Oyster bar has similar counter space but is not as cramped, providing more room to eat. It was awful that she made us sit at the bar where people mostly sit for drinks, despite our reservation. Additionally, during the two hours we were there, two seats in the couch area nearby the bar remained empty. She could have easily seated us there since no one was sitting there (see photo). It wasn't like the seats were reserved. We felt discriminated against, and this will be the first and last time we visited this restaurant. We do not recommend this place! read more
If you're a fan of oysters and seafood bars, you have to know Maison Premiere. Maison Premiere offers a variety of fresh and high quality oysters, delicious raw and cooked seafood appetizers, and a wonderful cocktail, wine, and spirits menu. Amazing seafood supplemented with great service and a beautiful outdoor garden terrace means a guaranteed good time. Unfortunately for me and my best friend, the weather wasn't the greatest and we opted for indoor seating. We didn't let that stop us from having a good time and the waitress made sure of it. We ordered the Maison Absinthe Colada and the MP Pimm's #40. For food we ordered a variety of east and west coast oysters, raw yellowtail, raw scallops, steamed manila clams, and a lobster roll. The oysters are super fresh and vary in taste from briny and salty to sweet and meaty. Quick tip if you don't know a lot of oyster varieties, the best ones are generally more expensive and this applies to Maison too (minus the kumamoto oysters which I find are sweeter at Asian establishments). Additional highlights include the raw scallops and the steamed manila clams. The scallops are sweet and are complimented by a creamy white sauce that is not overpowering. The salmon roe is a great touch. The steamed manila clams are deliciously savory and have the perfect flavorful seafood taste without it being too fishy. My bestie and I were practically drinking the clam broth. The yellowtail and the lobster roll did not disappoint either. Both were tasty but I've been spoiled by yellowtail at high-end Japanese establishments and fresh lobster in Boston. Take my "this is decently good lobster and yellowtail" with a grain of salt. The cocktails worked well with the seafood. I enjoyed the creamy and sweet absinthe colada which had just the right amount of absinthe. The absinthe lended a floral quality to what would have been a normal piña colada. The MP Pimm's 40 was refreshing but in an earthy way. Imagine a refreshing herbal tea elevated by pineapple and pear notes. Both cocktails hit the spot. With amazing seafood, seamless service, and good vibes, it is worth the trek to Williamsburg and a dent in your wallet. read more
I had a really nice time here this evening. The hostess was a total sweetheart and was able to seat me immediately at the oyster bar. Service was attentive and my water was refreshed throughout. I ordered a gin martini and some oysters. My martini was well made and they served it with olives as requested. It definitely wasn't as dry as I was hoping but I'm not sure if it was their fault or if I just didn't love the gin (I'm typically a Tanqueray person and I ordered with Haymon's London Dry since they didn't have Tanqueray) The oysters were delicious and shucked well. They had a great selection of both east and west coast oysters. The matunucks were great and I treated myself to a Kumamoto which was impeccable of course. Their cocktail sauce and mignonette weren't anything to write home about but were nice complements. Oysters were roughly $2-4.50 a piece. Food menu is very limited other than the oysters, there are some crudo options but it's definitely an oyster/shellfish heavy menu. Overall it probably would be 3 stars but the excellent service brought it up to a 4. read more
I know many locals were originally lamenting the loss of this institution, but so relieved that now it's back stronger than ever post-COVID! Came back recently, and it's as great as I remembered it. The vibe here is second to none - it's the closest to getting an old New Orleans feel without buying a plane ticket (for disclosure, New Orleans is my favorite city in the US!). There's just an overall classiness and sexiness to it that is unique. Cocktails here are great, and the bartenders are knowledgable. Amazing and varied oyster list that comes from all over North America. My favorite seats are at the bar counters (either the normal bar in the front, or around the oyster bar in the back). Only bummer is that the famous happy hour of old is no more. Totally understandable though, as I'm sure the business has to make up for lost revenue. Reservations are helpful to have, and can be made on Resy. Last time I was there, there was already a small queue forming before it opening. read more
This place is known for the best absinthe drinks in NYC! For a lady who doesn't like the strong taste of alcohol, they truly know how to design their drinks to taste good. I originally ordered a virgin pina colada (which by itself was luxuriously DIVINE), but found myself drawn to my friend's absinthe drink. As for food, we ordered 1) seaweed butter and bread, 2) lobster roll, 3) braised beef cheek, and 4) a dozen fresh oysters. Honestly I highly suggest them all, I also might've come very hungry so everything tasted extra amazing. No doubt, everything tasted delicious but in terms of variety I would suggest to get a full meal elsewhere and come here for the star choices from my visit- bread & butter and oysters! Tip: sit by the bar and ask the amazing bartenders for knowledge behind absinthe and the creation of the drink. Just a sneak peak, the reason the absinthe drink looks cloudy and like milk is supposedly because of the water slowly dripping on the sugar cube. Very cute and intimate oyster bar, perfect for date night. However, definitely on the smaller side, making it feel slightly cramped. The menu isn't super huge, but the selection of fresh seafood is great with options for oysters both from the east and west coast. They also have a great list of mock tails upon request. Omg I love this place and the 45 minute wait for a bar seat was well worth it. My dirty martinis were smoother than a pick up line. The raw oysters and clams were so fresh and delicious. The vibes are awesome. Pretty people, pretty cocktails, dim lighting and sexy. A great place for a date or an outing with friends. The bartenders have old school uniforms. We made a reservation ahead of time, so we were able to sit in the cozy corner inside. Their bar seating can be really tight if you don't want to sit right next to strangers. food - 3/5, We love oysters and MP is known for their oyster selections, but they were honestly only okay. we ordered 2 orders of oyster selection (chef's choice of 12) which is $47 each... but when we calculated whatever we got yesterday was $37 total.. I thought ordering chef's choice would be cheaper and we trusted their selection, but we only liked 2 types of oyster from the selection (Malpeque and hood canal). warm olives was good and bread and seaweed butter was very unique. drinks - 4/5, cocktails were good, but some cocktails (carondelet and the lambeth walk fizz) were lacking sweetness. my favorite was maison sherry cobbler. service - 4/5, our waiter was friendly and attentive. ambience - 5/5, I can see why people are obsessed with MP. The total after tip and tax for 2 orders of chef's choice of 12 oysters, 4 cocktails, warm olives and bread and butter ended up being ~$250 which we did not think was worth of $$$. Maison Premiere is amazing! I love oysters and was staying in the Williamsburg area and was super excited to find Maison Premiere. The food and service were great. The oysters tasted so fresh. The atmosphere was also really nice. It seemed a little upscale but the prices weren't too bad. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area! read more

This was a cute spot in Williamsburg. I enjoyed the presentation and the simplicity of the menu. The lobster rolls and the shrimp cocktail were delightful. My only annoyance was that the server did not let us know that our 90 mins were close to being up and we were rushed to give the next party our seat. read more

While plenty of seats were available during our Thursday late afternoon visit they seated us at the rearward oyster bar. I guess having pre Peter Luger drinks does not make us Brooklyn hip enough for the main bar. Both menu based specialty cocktails after placing the order we were informed they were missing ingredients to make them. When we questioned what other drinks were not available the server appeared affronted. Once we settled on available cocktails they were fine The courtyard/garden seating seemed pleasant A visit here is not worth the departure from Manhattan but if you are drawn here for another activity it is worth a stop. read more

For this particular experience I wanted to give 3 stars for the way I feel like I was overlooked by the bartenders. I really respect the craftsmanship and the hard work these particular bartenders gave! Everytime I come here I'm always amazed by the professionalism. This time not so much. I was told I'd have to wait 15-20 mins for a gin fiz, which I know normally do take longer than other cocktails. Nobody checked back with me because after 20 mins I was just going to switch to a martini. The bartender made my gin fix but I was very messy and I wasn't offered napkins or anything. For 25$ cocktail and 30 min wait I was pretty sad about the whole thing. Outside of my personal experience this is still an incredible bar and I still really love what they do read more

Beautiful outdoor space, friendliest staff, the best oyster options out there! We had oyster chef choice to start with. It was so interesting to be able to get a few for East and West coast Oysters. Incredibly fresh yellow tail, Lovely sour dough bread and butter. Not a fan of the oysters rockerfeller but that probably just preference. Strong drinks and fun atmosphere. Highly recommend! read more
