An average 4 stars here feels spot on. The staff is SO friendly and accomdating, helping us with our large party, their family style menu, seating changes, and anything else we needed. With a party of 8 or more, they make you order off the family style menu, which was honestly great for us, and it only 48/pp which feels cheap! There are some extras you can add on that make it a bit more expensive, but still not bad. The apps we got from family style were SO good, the Ragu Sliders and arancini were so so so good. The arancini was perfectly fried and the ragu sliders were so flavorful. Thankfully our party was pretty full after all the apps, because the main dishes we're not so great. Our pizza was a bit floppy, the vodka pasta was ok and the cacio e pepe seemed to just be flavored buttered noodles. None of it was bad, it just was unimpressive after such GREAT apps. Do not attempt dinner here on a Saturday night. I'd been here on weeknights before and thought it was decent, so we thought Saturday would be safe. Turns out there are apparently two different restaurants operating under the same name. On Saturdays, the place transforms into a nightclub, complete with bouncers, thumping music, and bartenders who seem deeply inconvenienced by anyone ordering something other than alcohol. The restaurant happily accepted our Resy reservation without mentioning that actual dinner service would be an afterthought. When we arrived, we were told the only place we'd be able to have a conversation was sitting outside. In the rain. Outside wasn't really "table service" anyway, it was basically Chipotle with cocktails -- that you have to fetch. You order everything via QR code, there are no servers, and the menu doesn't even include drinks. Want water? A soda? A refill? Head back inside to the packed club bar. Every so often a food runner would appear, offering the rare opportunity to beg for essentials like silverware or condiments. They seemed annoyed they had to be outside at all. SAME. The food was somehow even more disappointing than the service. Everything looked like it had spent a long time under a heat lamp before making its way to the table. Pizza, salmon, ribs, potatoes -- it was all greasy, tired and overpriced. If you're looking for a nightclub, maybe this works. If you're looking for the restaurant you thought you reserved, look elsewhere. We clearly should have adjusted our plans the minute we sat down, but won't make the Ainslie mistake again. Great brunch spot! One of the best deals for bottomless brunch and the drinks (peace Bellini, mimosa, hard iced tea) are actually great. All the pastas are DELICIOUS, but pizzas needs more flavor. Came here for a birthday party so the menu was already preselected. The staff was very attentive which I really appreciated because we were a huge group and they were super patient with us with all our drink orders and whatever else we requested on the side. The place was super cute and looked like we were dining in the middle of a greenhouse. No, on to the food, we started off with the Arancini which was nicely crispy and reminded me of an elevated mozzarella stick which I thought was super delicious. We also had the Calamari Fritti which we all enjoyed and devoured very quickly. On top of those appetizers, we had a classic Caesar which is your basic Caesar salad. Now moving on to the mains. We got a Cacio e Pepe which was a table favorite. It was nice and buttery and they gave us a huge bowl of Parmesan cheese on the side making the pasta very creamy. We also got a couple classic margarita pizzas which were very nice because it had a thin crust and a good amount of cheese on top. Brunch Flop! Came here on Memorial Day for brunch. As soon as we stepped in I noticed there wasn't anyone at the hostess stand. So I proceeded to walk to the bar area to greet the rest of my party. We then walk back to the hostess area where there is now a young woman standing. I explain we have reservations, she's silent for a while then motions for us to follow her. So first of all, love the vibe and atmosphere of this rustic space. The restaurant is huge with various rooms and floors, yet creating an intimate and cozy space. It's a mix of Italian cuisine with wood-fired pizza and housemade pasta paired with a wine bar and beer garden --a little bit of everything for everyone. I came here with a group of 7, so we had an array of dishes to share. We also came here 10 minutes before happy hour ended, which was such a good deal. For drinks, the happy hour was a bit limited with some beer and wine. I had the I'm Golden cocktail ($11), which just tasted like juice in a wine glass --didn't really care for this that much. For starters, we had the Meatballs ($7), Arancini ($7), Wood Fired Rosemary Wings ($8), and House-Cut Fries ($5). Great options to share for happy hour. I enjoyed the flavor on the wings a lot although still pricey at $2 per wing with during HH price. There is also 3 selections of 10" Pizzas for only $8 each and we got one of each. The Margherita and Saltimbocca were good, but we all thought the overload of arugula on the Rucola was too much. The pizza is cut into 4 slices, but it was difficult when we tried cutting it ourselves; it's a bit chewy and doughy. From the happy hour menu alone, we were all pretty full already. Luckily, we shared three different pastas: Housemade Lasagna ($23), Orecchiette ($21), and Penne Alla Vodka ($20). The lasagna was delicious, but a bit more petite which was harder to share for our group. The other two were classics --saucy and creamy. Since it was a Monday, the Ainslie Burger ($23) was 50% off, so we also ordered that too. The burger isn't anything special, but a really good deal if you're here on a Monday. Plus, it comes with fries too! Definitely recommend coming here for happy hour --the food deals are great! Also, love the space which is perfect for date night or large groups. The restaurant is tucked away on a smaller street that is very quiet at night, though it's worth noting that the walk there doesn't have much lighting and is quite dark. Note on seating: They won't seat your party until at least two people have arrived. The first thing you notice is how pretty and clean the space is. It's quite large with lots of seating and a great bar area, but even with the high ceilings, the noise level was good-- But also because it wasn't fully packed even by 8 PM (likely because it was a Monday). A solid spot for a group hang or date. Happy Hour: The oysters were a highlight--very fresh with two sauces. The wings were a bit under-seasoned, and the tequila (non-alcohol) in the martini tasted a bit "off" on the first sip, but settled after. Mains: The Honey Pizza is a must-order & was recommended by our waiter. It's thin-crust and delicious. The Penne Alla Vodka was cooked al dente; if you prefer a softer noodle, keep that in mind. The service was great and she was very accommodating but the food was mid mid mid. I ordered a chicken Cesar salad the most basic of salads and somehow they managed to mess it up. It was way too salty, the grilled chicken was fine but maybe the sauce made it way too salty. They were kind enough to replace it with a Cobb salad and the dressing was kept to the side. A friend also ordered the chicken Milanese and it was suppose to come with tomatoes sauce on it but it did not, other than that they enjoyed it. The waiting for tomatoes sauce and the replacement salad had us lose our appetite by the time they got back and we just took it to go. Maybe next time if there is one I'll try their pizza. Came here the other night for an anniversary dinner. We have been before and love the vibe here. It was the day after valentines day and it was a busy Sunday evening. I had my husband and daughter with me. Our server greeted us and we ordered prosecco. We dont normally drink but since it was a special occasion we indulged. I came in with a toddle and newborn baby and they were able to seat us in a booth which was best for children, were understanding when the toddler broke a plate, and made sure to check-in with us and acknowledge them. While I might've felt like I panicked and order meatballs with cacio e pepe, but it was a solid choice.
