I did another round at Cozy Royale. I haven't been in a while and decided to check out their Brunch/Lunch menu. Happy to report that it's just as stellar as the dinner. Service was absolutely solid. Food was so tasty and fresh. And, here's something. They forgot my bacon, initially. No worries, we just reminded them they had forgot it and were fine waiting an extra 5 minutes to get it. Without even telling us, they comped the bacon! What a kind gesture that was so unnecessary. But, that's just their ethic. I will gladly continue to return to Cozy Royale!
Had a great time at Cozy Royale! The food was incredibly flavorful and delicious. Everything was seasoned well. The cocktails we had were delicious. Our server was kind and attentive. The establishment was well laid out and impressive. Will absolutely be stopping by again.
Great late night or anytime spot! I dropped in late night for a drink and their smash burger and was blown away! Such a good burger and an awesome vibe. Highly recommend!
This was my second time at Crazy Royale. The first time I walked in without a reservation and the wait was too long, so this time I made a reservation and it worked out perfectly as there was no wait and a good time slot. The space is split into two areas. When you first walk in, it feels more like a bar with window seating and a few booths, but there's a second room in the back with more dine-in tables. Food-wise, there were so many things I wanted to try, especially the starters and apps. I ended up going with the Little Gem Wedge (a great choice), the spicy Italian sausage meatballs (the peppers made it taste really good), and the pork sirloin steak. The steak was the least impressive as the flavor was lacking, and I ended up asking for hot sauce on the side. Dessert, however, was the highlight: the sticky toffee pudding was absolutely delicious. Overall, Crazy Royale is worth checking out, especially if you snag a reservation. Good atmosphere, solid food, and definitely save room for dessert!
OMFG YUMMMMMM I arrived in NY and this was my first stop off the plane. I'm OBSESSED. Definitely coming back. The atmosphere? Immaculate. The food? I'm still dreaming about it. The service? Literally perfect. I cannot hype this place up enough. It was a wonderful experience! (Plus I took the rest of the Caesar salad to go and it was even better the next day? How is that even possible?!)
Party of 4 including my boy. All went for the dry aged cheeseburger since I made sure we got there just as they were opening to make sure we can get that. Not sure if it's really limited to just 10 per day, but we got 4 of them for that day, lol. It was indeed a tasty elevated burger with great flavors. I just wish it had more of the aged beef, since it didn't fill me up (did the ladies and kid). I had to get myself the HH cheeseburger as well, which was also good and finally satiated me:) HH menu is definitely the best thing for locals I assume, who all had cheeseburgers and drinks in their hands. HH shrimp cocktail was excellent with big succulent shrimps. HH dirty martini was great as well, especially coming with the bleu cheese olive! Definitely the aged burger had the better/elevated flavor profile that's a must for tourist like me, but if I was local, I can see myself getting the 2 X HH burger for full satiation while sipping martinis in a friendly service environment!
Truly one of the best happy hours I've ever been to! We made a reservation even though it was a week night because I saw how packed they can be sometimes during HH (from 5-7). Everything we ordered was on the HH menu. We started w the glasses of chilled red which hit the spot on that hot day. Then we split the fried pickles as an appetizer and each got our own burger and fries. The breading never fell off the fried pickles and I liked that they were the little pickles instead of chips or spears. Service was attentive even when the place was packed. I had an amazing experience. Cozy Royale is unassuming but has a light, yet moody interior that would be perfect for a date night.
The regular burger here is amazing ($22). Savory, juicy and even a tad bit sweet. The pickles, onions, and sauce were great. Didn't pay much attention to the buns. Fries were good. I had their beertini which was soooo good. Not a fan of beer but I've been drinking it a bit and on the hunt for a savory cocktail so the olive juice in this rlly did the job and it was only $6. I asked for more olive juice on the side cuz I wanted more saltiness. Mezcal cocktail wasn't rlly good, not bad but the lime they used in it was too sour/ old and I could taste it so it kinda ruined it for me. Service was good. I'll be back for the burger for sure. Maybe I'll also have to try the smash burger. The vibe in here is like a middle America grandmas house meets steak restaurant. Definitely an evening vibe even though I showed up midday lol.

Ambiance: 5 Service: 5 Drinks: didn't have any but I'm sure they were great Food: 5 Everyone's been talking about the $10 smash burger special, which is admittedly fantastic. But the highlight for me were the sausage meatballs--best meatballs I've ever had. Incredible flavor and texture (it was slightly burnt on the bottom which gave it some crispiness on the exterior). Beet salad and the sticky toffee pudding were also great.

Booked a table last minute & was pleasantly surprised. I've heard about this restaurant for a while & while in the neighborhood I happened to get a table, Their brunch menu is much more limited than their dinner menu which was disappointing We arrived a little earlier than our resy & was promptly sat. After a few minutes we were greeted by our waitress with water. We already knew what we wanted so we ordered the burger. To my surprise it was really delicious, cooked perfect to how we requested. The fries were the real surprise & the real deal. Think they were hand cut, they were seasoned and cooked just to my liking. Really crunch, lightly salted. It did take them a while to make them, so if you're in a rush this place not be for you. If you're looking to catch up with a buddy or need a place for a decent sized group I would recommended stopping here. The restaurant is bigger than it looks from the outside, with a full bar and back room full of tables and booths. If in the area again I would definitely like to try them out for dinner.
Came for the happy hour special that everyone raves about! We shared a French Onion soup ($18), happy hour smashed burger with fries ($10), and a regular burger with fries. The French onion soup was pricey but delicious - might've been the best bone broth I had in a bit. I enjoyed my smash burger and honestly thought it was better than the full sized burger. We came here looking for a classic burger with sesame bun - as so many photos showed, but unfortunately Cozy Royale changed the bun a few months before we came. We are still on the hunt for the best burgers (with sesame bun - duh!) in the city. For drinks, I got the HH martini ($10) and my husband got a glass of red wine. The martini was delicious, and strong. I also got their version of an espresso martini for a night cap. It was honestly too sweet and I wouldn't get it again. Overall, I would come back for the HH special. Definitely make a resy!
I make it my duty to come here every time I'm in New York. The happy hour menu is great but the Monday steak deal is even better. Pair it with their crispy dirty martini and it's a little slice of heaven.
Came to Cozey Royale on Sunday for dinner. Overall no complaints! The burger was good. Honestly the pasta was unexpectedly really good. The steak frites and green bean appetizer (not pictured) I probably could've done without. Overall good vibes, good food, and good classic martini! read more
A good bargain during happy hour and pretty yummy. $10' for burger and fries is pretty great. Small ish burger but definitely enough for a meal for me. Salad was also super tasty. We hit up Cozy Royale for the first time the other day before a concert at Brooklyn Steele. Cozy has a pub feel inside, but just imagine a more updated and cozy pub. The front room features a bar with a few booth tables, and the back room has a lot of additional seating. But I'll tell you, you might make a reservation b/c they are slammed all the time, starting at 5p! I guess the locals know that this is the hot spot! We got to Cozy in time to take in their Happy Hour, which features $10 martinis (classic and dirty martinis only). They also features a few Happy Hour food deals, including fried pickles (nom!). We ordered another appetizer off of the regular menu--the sausage meatballs--and I was absolutely blown away!! I need these in my life at least 1x a month! The meatballs are nestled on a bed of lightly pickled red peppers (not spicy), which, when combined with the meatballs creates an explosion of flavor in your mouth. In fact, my mouth is watering right now just typing this! Do yourself a favor and PLEASE order these. I'll be returning to Cozy Royale just for these balls! For diner, Tony and I shared the Hippie Salad and the Chicken Piccata. Both were outstanding. Final thoughts = definitely check out Cozy Royale if you're going to be in the area. Have been here several times now, great vibe for casual bites and drinks but more elevated than regular bar fare. I really enjoy the kale cesar salad as well as the fish dip; the drinks are lovely across the board. I've also had the steak frites on four separate occasions now and for half of those times, the steak was cooked beautifully. The previous time I visited I thought it was a bit undercooked so tonight I ordered the steak medium well instead of medium. Not too much of a difference, I thought. The waitress insisted that I order medium instead, so I did. It was the rarest steak I've ever had to chew through. I'm not one to tell staff to take food back, especially the most expensive item on the menu if I remember correctly. It's not exactly a very extensive menu, which I enjoy! Because that encourages expertise. It really is a great restaurant but i think further attention to the smaller things in these trying times where a night out is rarer (ha!) than other years. Cozy Royale is an ideal restaurant! Grabbed a same-day reservation and had a great dinner with my boyfriend. I tried: + Classic martini + Cold brew martini + Heirloom tomatoes + Little gem wedge + Dry aged cheeseburger + Sticky toffee pudding My absolute favorite bites were the fries and the desserts, though the wedge and classic martini were also fantastic. I'll definitely be back. Would be a great spot for a meal pre-Brooklyn Steel show. read more

A friend and I stopped at Cozy Royale on our way to an apartment showing and immediately loved the decor and energy of the place. The happy hour deals are amazing with a burger and fries being $10. We also had the fried pickles to start! Not just well priced but delicious as well. The fries were crispy and salted perfectly and the burger was cooked just right with a dreamy burger sauce to top it off. Cannot recommend Cozy Royale enough! read more

True to it's name this place is definitely cozy; think dark wood, booths - an old-school tavern vibe. They have an amazing happy hour - so when we got there at 6:30 it was packed. $10 Martnis and $10 smash burger w/ fries. I opted for Gin while my friend went slightly dirty vodka. NGL a was kind of bummed we didn't get the advertised blue cheese stuffed olives (didn't get to ask if they ran out) but the drinks were cold and mixed perfectly. We ordered the bib salad (a delicious play on a wedge), the dry- aged burger (with raclette bacon jam, arugula and something spicy that really hit it off) and the rigatoni. The burger was the star of the show (all their meats are from meat hook and I think that's where their chef really shines) Rigatoni was fine and we finished the meal with a sticky toffee pudding. Drinks came quickly despite how busy they were and service was 5 star. Will be back . read more
Before coming to Cozy Royale I already knew I was coming for the burger lol. I don't often crave or seek out American food but this is a burger I'd come back for. We made a res and I'd recommend making one here since it was pretty packed the night I went. From what I recall it doesnt need to be made too far in advance! The interior is super cozy and tavern-like and this is great for a group dinner or a casual date. I hear the martinis slap so next time I will definitely get one. Fries were great too and I found myself finishing the whole plate. read more

Happy Hour smash burger is $10 and worth every penny. Highly recommend the fried pickles. $5 beer shot combo is a better deal than most bars. They do happy hour right highly recommend. read more

Cute spot with a cozy decor. We came for brunch and it was busy on a Sunday as expected. If you're coming on a peak day or time, I recommend getting a reservation since I saw some people turned away at even 2pm, when they're close to closing because of lack of space. The cinnamon toast sticks are good, they managed to keep it moist without being eggy. I got the avocado toast and it was a lot of avocado piped on to keep it nice and neat, the Avo was almost fluffy and light because of how they prepared it. I loved the tomatoes and arugula on the side and wish there was more of it. My friend got the burger, what they're known for, and enjoyed it, nothing too much to say about it other than being a good, standard burger. I picked some fries off her plate and the fries were yummy! Freshly made and crispy. read more

Cozy Royale. Definitely a COZY Spot. We opted for a seat in the back and it was fairly loud. More of a bar vibe in the front. We started with the Broccoli + Pierogi. I feel like that lacked flavor and probably would have been nice with a sauce. We then got the Fluke Meuniere and Dry-aged Cheeseburger. Both looked so good, but were underwhelming. The fluke specifically smelt like it was going to be the best thing i've ever had, but lacked flavor or spices. Pretty bland in my opinion. Fries were a hit though! ($$ +30) read more
This was an alright spot for brunch. I had the garden omelette which came with toast and some home fries. The food was good, but unremarkable. There were plenty of veggies in the omelette and the potatoes were crispy, but overall the meal tasted like something you'd get at any other diner. The restaurant's definitely lives up to its name through the decor though. read more

Such a vibey and cozy dinner spot. Think Bernie's but better food and less crowded. Must gets - Baked Clams, a must - The burger (non dry aged) an absolute must - Salad (delicious) - Perogies (amazing) - Anchovies with bread are also really good Misses - Rigatoni, not as flavored - Dry Aged Burger (too sweet for my liking) The service is great and the martinis are excellent as well. Highly recommend a visit. read more
The table ordered the pork chop with hunter sauce and the burger. The pork chop was delicious, tender and juicy, but the sauce was on the very very edge of too salty. Granted it was a bacon based gravy but still. The burger is solid and the fries delicious and crunchy. The service is efficient while friendly without a lot of waiting around. read more

Exceptional. The atmosphere is intimate & cozy (lives up to the name). The service was very helpful & friendly. We had certain questions about the menu and those were answered swiftly. I ordered the Bourbon Cooler as my cocktail and it was delicious and perfectly balanced. For my entree I ordered the steak frites, it came out about rare and I was completely fine with that. The steak was delicious coupled with the peppercorn sauce, the fries were nice and crispy. I'm definitely coming back and recommending the place to friends. Thank you. read more

We came to Cozy Royale to try the burger, as it had been on numerous lists and we found ourselves in the area. While it was delicious, I didn't think it was worth the $22 price tag - at that price range I'd likely go somewhere else! The tartare tasted quite mustard-y to me so it wasn't my favorite that I've had, but my partner enjoyed it! read more

People always talk about the burger here (for good reason it's maybe the best in Brooklyn), but I think the meatballs might be one of the best bites of the year. My only issue was they gave us three meatballs so I had to fight my brother for the last bite. The meat comes fresh from the meat hook across the street and you can taste the difference. There are very few places that I will wait hours for a table for but this is one of them. read more
