If you find yourself in the Riverhead/Jamesport area in the morning and you're looking for a place with an old-school exterior but good vibes and hearty food on the inside, Main Road Biscuit Co. is worth checking out. The service and food, for the most part, were very good. Our server and the person behind the counter were both friendly. We were seated quickly (we arrived just before the weekend breakfast rush), and our coffee came out almost instantly. Food-wise, we ordered the Main Road breakfast sandwich with a hash brown and sausage, the Biscuits & Gravy with additional eggs, and a toffee oat cookie. The sandwich was okay--nothing out of the ordinary. The hash brown was interesting; it had carrots and what seemed like squash or zucchini in it. Not bad, just unexpected. The biscuits & gravy were excellent. The gravy had great texture and flavor, and the biscuits were fantastic. The cookie was decent--crispy outside, with a nice chew. Why not a higher score? The meal was on the pricey side--$20 for biscuits and gravy with two eggs, and $18 for a breakfast sandwich. Also, there was an odd service moment at the end. When we asked for the check, a woman (not our server) told me, "You can come here for that," motioning to the register. Meanwhile, she brought the check directly to the table next to us. Not a big deal, but a bit off-putting.

Solid breakfast spot with delicious menu options. From salmon-smoked Benedicts to a fried oyster scramble to yogurt, granola and oats, there's something for everyone here. Back patio was nice to experience on a lovely summer morning. Definitely give this spot a try!

Cute cafe style restaurant in a cute small town, there was a bit of a wait but the food was great! Tried two things, first was the Duck Hash which was nice. It wasnt that filling but the flavor was tasty, like a more tender hash brown and the egg on top was nice. Second was the Crab Cake Bennie which was divineeee. All the layers to the dish come together so well and you get a hint of that crab / seafood taste with some tanginess and egginess idk it was just so good and the biscuits here are amazinggggg. I could eat a few biscuits on their own as my meal.

We were seated upon arrival, the dining room is just so bright and inviting! We had never been here before so we obviously had to try the biscuits! Delish! Everything was great!

Quaint restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Delicious food, with a lot of locally sourced ingredients. Coffee was really tasty as well! Staff were friendly and prices were fair. A nice breakfast spot.

Still a great place with great food and lovely backside outdoor seating. Food was delicious. Ordered a greenie smoothie which was below par, but they were kind enough to take it back, and I got a cappuccino instead which was great. Would stick to getting smoothies at smoothie establishments. But everything else there is fantastic and fresh. The service is excellent as well. . It's a gem.

Still four stars, been a while since I've been here but it's still all good. Really enjoyed my breakfast with a nice Latte. Attentive service and a cool coffee shop vibe.

Fresh biscuits on constant rotation and among other baked goods. Full menu with many choices. Friendly and attentive service. All of the food was made and served quickly and fresh. So much outdoor space and ample seating inside.

Great spot for Brunch! Me and a group of friends stopped by to grab food before heading out to the wineries. They have a small indoor area and also a tented off outdoor area. It was pretty busy on Sunday so I recommend making a reservation. Our waitress was the sweetest and service was great. If you come get you need to have the biscuits! I ordered a margarita and the eggs Benedict on biscuit. It was so good! I ate the whole thing. It's definitely a very filling biscuit and meal.

Very cute eastry located on the east end of long island. Real small town vibes. We came for sunday breakfast and it was super busy. The staff was on their A game though. Our waitress was literally the sweetest girl ever! We had a table of 6. Needed the bill to be split individually, she had no problem doing that. She was so gracious about it. Our table ordered a variety of items, from biscuits, chicken&waffles, breakfast sandwiches and eggs Benedict. And a variety of drinks. The eggs were super fresh! The honey butter is a must for the biscuits, ask for extra! There is indoor and covered outdoor seating. There are fans for the outdoor area. There is free street parking and parking in the back too. Definitely recommend this place for the service alone and the food and small town vibes are impeccable.

The service was a 10/10. Our server was so sweet. I forget her name. The food was very good and I love the sweetness of their French onion soup. The bread in the soup was flavored which was a welcome surprise

This is a hidden gem. Great selections for breakfast and lunch. We had oyster po'boy and duck hash. Will definitely go again. Service was good and the place very quaint.

We stopped in for breakfast before a day of exploring the north fork. They were fully booked for father's day brunch so we opted to get the biscuit sampler to go. We enjoyed the biscuits at the gazebo down the block along with the fresh strawberries we picked up from a farm stand on the way. The biscuits were warm, buttery, crumbly, and overall SO delicious especially with the honey butter. The chive butter was great too for a more savory bite. I definitely would love to dine in next time to try their other offerings!

Hampton Coffee Company is one of those local favorites with spots sprinkled across the East End, from Hampton Bays and Water Mill to Westhampton Beach and Center Moriches, and every location feels cozy and welcoming. You've got your hot espresso bar classics, iced espresso drinks, flavored lattes, cold brews and shaken drinks, refreshers, smoothies, teas, and even seasonal features like holiday specials. I ordered the holiday cookie latte iced, and it was so fun for the season! It was sweet, cozy, and totally delicious with that festive vibe you want this time of year. There's a whole holiday lineup at many locations if you're feeling festive. On top of drinks, they have bakery items, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, paninis, wraps, and more if you're hungry. I really do take far too many photos, but it's helpful because then I remember there are spots I may have forgotten to write up like Macchiato Espresso Bar. I visited this cute Mattituck location back in late August and the results were pretty tasty. You see my wife and I were looking for some coffee and a place that's different than what we've often found on the North Fork and so MEB popped up as an option. Not a ton of reviews were posted, but from the ones on Yelp (and dare I say Google too) made it seem worthy of stopping. The worthiness is definitely there because Macchiato has a nice array of coffee options as well as pastries and more elaborate edibles (sandwiches, salads, etc.). You can find everything on their menus though you won't find too much else inside as the place is definitely small. A couple of tables, some fridge drinks and pre-maid foods, and an area of swag and other items is the entirety of the interior so don't expect any true cozy feels. But hey, you can't drink cozy (well maybe in the Fall/Winter), and so let's turn our attention back to the name of this place and focus on coffee. I went with an iced latte with vanilla while my wife tried the iced chocolate (as it was written on the menu). For me, I liked mine. Nothing negative to necessarily say about it as it had a good coffee kick, but when my wife felt like hers was a little too heavy in the bitter bang before the chocolate took over, I decided for us to switch drinks as I thought the iced chocolate was delightful (I do like my coffee a little stronger). Before finishing up, I do want to mention that we were a bit hungry and so one of the chocolate croissants in the display case made its way into our possession. The funny interaction my wife had with the friendly staff member ("Is that a chocolate croissant?" "You know it is!") added to our excitement and oh did it pay off as it tasted delicious. Overall, Macchiato Espresso Bar had a lot to like. Perhaps they're a little small, but they pack some good coffee and pastry/food choices in an area that really doesn't have a ton of options. I'd definitely return another time when out east and in search of my morning cup of joe along with a desire for a bite to eat. And with that I can now post some very belated pics with this review so the CMs stay off my back!

My only disappointment is that they only serve breakfast and lunch, and not dinner. It is a culinary teaching program, and they have limited hours. Their Spring 2025 semester is closing soon on May 15, 2025. It is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 3 P.M. Breakfast is served from 8:30 am to 10:30 am Lunch from 9 am to 2 pm. Twenty-four of us had our monthly luncheon there in April. Everyone raved about their order, and many have been back since bringing their friends. Downtown Riverhead is welcoming to shoppers with ample free municipal parking and increased security. The facility is accessible through the rear door adjacent to the Municipal lot behind 20 Main Street. Our group asked to come back in May. The staff is friendly, the food terrific, and the facility clean. If you walk towards the rear entrance, you will see students working with their teachers. The entire kitchen is on view. Once you place your order, you can wait in the adjacent room looking over Main Street. Staff will bring your order to your table. I failed to mention their selection of desserts and gelato. Not all cakes are available daily since the students learn to bake specific cakes as part of the curriculum. They make a flourless chocolate cake, which is amazing. Their days of operation follow the schedule of Suffolk County Community College.

Our server came over and told us that two of the items on the chalkboard - including one we had planned to order - had been sold out already. This was at 6 pm on a weekend night. So we went back to looking at the menu. Within seconds, our server showed up again - the steak had been 86ed. We went back to looking at the menu. Our server returned to our table a couple of minutes later and told us how he liked to rank the restaurant's dishes, then telling us about his top three in minute detail. We were pretty sure what we wanted at this point. But our server came back one more time to tell us that the salad from the specials menu - again, a dish we planned to order - was gone. At this point I began to wonder if we would be allowed to pick our own food for the meal. Anyway, we settled on another dish and beckoned our server over for his fourth (and first invited) visit to our table. We ordered. The food came in a reasonable amount of time. The pasta and pizza were good, the salad dressed with something a bit too acidic. We ate, paid, and left, still somewhat in disbelief. Maybe if this place had fewer items on the menu, they'd be able to stock more ingredients for each one. As things stand, it's a rather frustrating venue (albeit one with a clearly devoted following). P.S. The noise level in the restaurant is high - we were practically shouting to hear each other at various points during our dinner.
