First time trying this local Granada Hills restaurant. Gathering with neighbors for a gab sesh over breakfast on Boxing Day. Despite the rain, the restaurant was warm and cozy and we arrived just before 9am, ahead of the weary crowds of post holiday diners. We were seated right away and drink orders delivered promptly. Questions about food substitutes was handled efficiently and friendly, with some additional suggestions which is appreciated. Food arrived within 15 mins of order so the kitchen was in top form. Everything looked delicious and, between bits of gossip, the reviews were positive. We stayed well after the plates had cleared. I don't believe we were keeping customers from the table, but we also weren't rushed by the staff. While we were a group of 4, I think this lovely spot would be best for intimate settings of 2. I would definitely recommend MKC as a meeting spot. While I opted for a basic parfait, after too much holiday indulging it was a light, refreshing break. Strawberries and blueberries were fresh, but the peaches canned. Tasty, but all fresh and seasonal if necessary would be the only recommendation I could offer. Everyone seemed pleased with their choices and I will def return - maybe even contributing some coffee mugs cluttering my own cabinets. Cheers! "CC"

Gem hidden in plain sight. I've been living near this fine establishment and barely discovered. I must've been living under rock but glad I'm in the "know". Main Kitchen Cafe is a wonderful place for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Huge menu, awesome drinks, and great service. The small business neighborhood feel gives it a warm charm. Food is excellent. I went with a group and was able to try out different things. I've never had fried catfish for breakfast. But I'm sure glad I did. Come on in and enjoy a nice warm dine-in experience. Parking is easy. Enjoy.

Was in the mood for a breakfast burrito and passing by so I decided to stop in. I must've arrived between breakfast and lunch and was sad immediately. The staff was all very friendly. Decided to go with the sunshine Ranch, breakfast burrito and it was great. Ingredients were clean tasting, and after eating a large burrito still felt great and not bogged down like some burritos can make you feel. Coffee is actually really good. Since it wasn't that busy, it was very calm and relatively quiet inside.

5/5 I give this place. I gotta hand it to the kitchen staff for making our food good. It was cooked and seasoned well. The steak and eggs were fantastic! Pancake with berries, strawberries and bananas was also fantastic! I'm impressed. The staff were very helpful and paid attention to the customers and kept the place clean inside. Parking can be a challenge on a week day since it is shared with other vendors around and it they don't have a lot of space for many. Overall, it was a good experience eating here. Keep it up!

Greeted by hostess quickly and kindly. We sat in a clean and inviting dining room. Not too fancy. Lots of wall decor and some music playing in background. We got our food quickly and enjoyed the meal and coffee. It was brought out quickly and the ingredients were great. I recommend this spot for breakfast. I would be careful where you park. I almost got hit when getting in and out of the parking spot along chatsworth. Park in the lot next door if possible. I would return in a heartbeat.

What a difference from the last time we went! Lox benedict was so tasty and the Hollandaise wasn't lemony at all! The huevos rancheros (plus avocado) were also delicious. Even the kiddo had a good time with the omelet. And the service - 10 stars! So friendly and accommodating! I've never been so happy to see a Paw Patrol sticker in my life! LOL

My daughter and I are regulars here and we absolutely love the food ! The atmosphere is so calming and they always play nice music which makes our mornings. The servers, especially Mya, is filled with hospitality and is just the sweetest, always checking up on us. We have been here so often that the chef remembers our orders which we value so much

Don't try the chilaquiles. They were the worse I have ever tried in my life. The first bad sign was that it came with both red and green salsa. I'm Mexican-American and know that that's a no no, but I tried it because the waitress said it was good. It was soupy and came with whole beans. The only good thing about it was the good cooked egg. Sour cream!!!. No! It was pretty insulting to our culture. Glad my mother wasn't with us. Indoor seating is limited. I don't mind waiting or being in crowded spaces if the food is good, not the case. The traditional breakfast was pretty good though. Comes with eggs, bacon, and hash browns. The server was pretty rude at first. I didn't really care because if the food is good, I would overlook a bad server. She gave sarcastic remarks and didn't come often enough to refill waters and coffee. Will not return. Food was a bit pricey. A lot of non-Latinos were eating there. I should have known. The outdoor seating was nice, but this intersection is not. Very noisy and kept looking around when crazy drivers flew by.

Chilaquiles with Sunny Side Eggs

In an area where you wouldn't necessarily expect a great brunch place to be, there's a great brunch place. I visited Main Kitchen Cafe with my son one Sunday morning and we had surprisingly good foot, tasty and beautifully presented. The place was busy but we didn't have to wait too long for a table. The menu has good options for vegetarians in both the sweet and savory categories. We both got versions of the Chilaquiles. My simpler-palated son got his with scrambled eggs and no sour cream. I asked for "chef's choice" and they brought mine with eggs over easy. It was truly delicious and beautiful looking in the bowl they served it with. The coffee was good enough. They've even got Beyond Sausage as a side option so, again as a vegetarian, I felt well taken care of here. The food is nice and upscale and we'll definitely come back to try more!

I came to have breakfast with Mom . we ended up getting their breakfast burrito ( Chile verde) and we shared a plate of fruit with some toast. Service was great. The spot was clean. We did get seated towards the back and they did let us know that there was gonna be like some type of wind draft And so it might get cold but other than that, we had a good time orange juice was freshly squeeze so that was yummy. Parking can get a little bit complicated because it's off of Main Street but if you're lucky, you'll get parking right away and if not, you'll have to wait but not too bad.

Chicken Fried Steak with potatoes, biscuit and country gravy... oh wait. They forgot the country gravy.

Let me clarify that this review is regarding their TO GO/PICK UP service. Eating at the Granada Hills location is great. Friendly staff and great food. HOWEVER the rating drops DRAMATICALLY when you order for pickup or delivery. Consistently forgetting items and the food quality is significantly worse when you take it to go. This latest example... I order their Chicken Fried Steak that comes with potatoes, a biscuit and country gravy. Order is picked up and THERE IS NO COUNTRY GRAVY. How is that a miss? Not to mention that I have to remind them that there is a drink that came with the order or that would have been missed as well. Long story short, it is worth it during the week when it's not crowded and the food is MUCH better when you dine in. Avoid to go orders at all costs.

The service was really good. Our waitress was kind, quick and professional. The food was amazing. I had chicken and waffles and I've never had waffles cooked as delicious as these. The chicken tenders were seasoned much better than most places I've been to. I will definitely be back.

Do you guys still serve the French toast with bourbon bacon, bananas, and macadamia nuts?

That item is currently not available on our menu. Perhaps a different version of that will return in the future. Thanks for the inquiry. Hope that helped.

Is it pet friendly?

I was there 8/16/21 and a patio diner had her dog with them. It looked pet friendly.

Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The only thing I didn't love was the waffle dish. I found the savory food on top of the waffle to be kind of odd. We ended up shoving it all off and asking for syrup. So in that case, I would have ordered pancakes instead. It's definitely in the pricier side for breakfast a coffee but it's worth the experience - at least once.

I visited with my sister and law and my son, and they had no problem accommodating my son's stroller, but it might have been more difficult on a busy weekend vs the weekday of our visit. My sister and law and I split the Blueberry Pancakes with ricotta and house-made jam, and the Egg Cheese Bread. We both tried the the Pistachio Cloud Latte, and the Strawberry Cloud Tea. Everything was fantastic, but I particularly liked the coffee - the Strawberry Cloud tea I could have done without as it was a little too sweet. The Egg Cheese bread was as delicious as I hoped it would be, and the pancakes were not overly sweet, but still decadently divine! The Pistachio Cloud Latte was iced with a sweet cream cloud on top, and bitter and mildly sweet espresso and milk below the surface. We did not experience any issues with service during our visit referenced in other reviews. We will be visiting again to try the other items on the menu!

The line was long to get a table, so come prepared to wait a little bit, like at any breakfast place on a Sunday morning. My wife and I took our boys here for Sunday breakfast. My wife got the Newton's 7 AM Breakfast with an over medium egg, bacon, and hash browns for $17.95. She also added a single pancake for $3.50. I got the brisket burrito with no salsa roja because I can't have tomatoes, and I have to say, it was delicious, but it was also $20.95. My wife ordered scrambled eggs for the boys for $6.00, which they didn't eat, so I ended up eating them, like always. She also decided to get the boys the puff cakes. Apparently, they're like little pancakes sprinkled with powdered sugar on top, and the boys seemed to like them a lot. Those were $7.95. We also got miscellaneous pastries from the display to the right of the cashiers, each costing around five dollars or less. To top it all off, I ended up getting a cold brew coffee for my caffeine fix with light ice. I added vanilla and with extra pump in there, which came with an extra charge of $0.50 plus another $0.25. My bill before tax was $75.20, and after tax it came out to $82.52. I had to ask my wife, "Is that right? Does that seem right to you?" She said yes and told me she looked it over. That's just what it was. We tasted everything. My boys liked the puff cakes, my wife liked her breakfast, and my brisket burrito was very delicious. However, at $20.95 the burrito probably wouldn't be my first choice next time. The service here is very basic. You wait outside in line for them to find you a table, and once your table is ready, you walk up to the counter and place your order. They bring the food to you when it's ready. I didn't have any issues with this setup. The ambiance is your typical breakfast/brunch restaurant that opens early in the morning and closes early in the afternoon. I would definitely recommend this place to people who want to try some different breakfast items, but just be aware of how much everything costs. Maybe check the menu on Yelp beforehand to see if it fits what you're looking for. I would definitely come back again, but I'd probably make some changes to my order and leave out the pastries. Maybe pastries are better if you're just stopping by for coffee and a snack, but if you're coming for breakfast, you can probably skip them. Thank you for the brunch, Claudine Kitchen and Bakeshop.

The house-made jam was also off today--it was much more watery than usual and didn't have that same rich texture I'm used to. The potatoes were underwhelming as well--lacking seasoning and slightly burnt. I will say, the server was kind and did bring out a vegan date pastry after I had already received my bill, which I appreciated. It just wasn't something I would typically choose, and nothing was adjusted on the bill. For the price, I just expected more consistency and care, especially from a place I usually really enjoy.
