On our drive to Camarillo for some outlet shopping, we decided to find a breakfast spot. My wife googled "breakfast near me" and found Main Kitchen Cafe. A quick reroute from the 118 freeway and we were in Granada Hills. We found the restaurant and had no trouble finding a parking space. The restaurant is definitely a diamond in the rough. The local businesses are of various nature so this great little cafe stands out. The decor provides a warm and inviting environment. We were greeted warmly by a waitress, Noemy, who eventually seated us and took our order. Coffee and hot chocolate were delivered soon after and our meals came quickly as well. My wife's Lemon Ricotta Blueberry pancakes were delicious. My Chicken Fried Steak with eggs, biscuit and gravy and potatoes was excellent. The potatoes were a highlight of the dish. Very yummy!!! Oh, and Noemy was attentive and friendly and provided excellent care for our first visit to this popular neighborhood cafe. Though the restaurant is about 20 miles from our home, we definitely will be back when we are headed to points west from our home.

First time trying this local Granada Hills restaurant. Gathering with neighbors for a gab sesh over breakfast on Boxing Day. Despite the rain, the restaurant was warm and cozy and we arrived just before 9am, ahead of the weary crowds of post holiday diners. We were seated right away and drink orders delivered promptly. Questions about food substitutes was handled efficiently and friendly, with some additional suggestions which is appreciated. Food arrived within 15 mins of order so the kitchen was in top form. Everything looked delicious and, between bits of gossip, the reviews were positive. We stayed well after the plates had cleared. I don't believe we were keeping customers from the table, but we also weren't rushed by the staff. While we were a group of 4, I think this lovely spot would be best for intimate settings of 2. I would definitely recommend MKC as a meeting spot. While I opted for a basic parfait, after too much holiday indulging it was a light, refreshing break. Strawberries and blueberries were fresh, but the peaches canned. Tasty, but all fresh and seasonal if necessary would be the only recommendation I could offer. Everyone seemed pleased with their choices and I will def return - maybe even contributing some coffee mugs cluttering my own cabinets. Cheers! "CC"

Gem hidden in plain sight. I've been living near this fine establishment and barely discovered. I must've been living under rock but glad I'm in the "know". Main Kitchen Cafe is a wonderful place for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Huge menu, awesome drinks, and great service. The small business neighborhood feel gives it a warm charm. Food is excellent. I went with a group and was able to try out different things. I've never had fried catfish for breakfast. But I'm sure glad I did. Come on in and enjoy a nice warm dine-in experience. Parking is easy. Enjoy.

Was in the mood for a breakfast burrito and passing by so I decided to stop in. I must've arrived between breakfast and lunch and was sad immediately. The staff was all very friendly. Decided to go with the sunshine Ranch, breakfast burrito and it was great. Ingredients were clean tasting, and after eating a large burrito still felt great and not bogged down like some burritos can make you feel. Coffee is actually really good. Since it wasn't that busy, it was very calm and relatively quiet inside.

5/5 I give this place. I gotta hand it to the kitchen staff for making our food good. It was cooked and seasoned well. The steak and eggs were fantastic! Pancake with berries, strawberries and bananas was also fantastic! I'm impressed. The staff were very helpful and paid attention to the customers and kept the place clean inside. Parking can be a challenge on a week day since it is shared with other vendors around and it they don't have a lot of space for many. Overall, it was a good experience eating here. Keep it up!

Greeted by hostess quickly and kindly. We sat in a clean and inviting dining room. Not too fancy. Lots of wall decor and some music playing in background. We got our food quickly and enjoyed the meal and coffee. It was brought out quickly and the ingredients were great. I recommend this spot for breakfast. I would be careful where you park. I almost got hit when getting in and out of the parking spot along chatsworth. Park in the lot next door if possible. I would return in a heartbeat.

What a difference from the last time we went! Lox benedict was so tasty and the Hollandaise wasn't lemony at all! The huevos rancheros (plus avocado) were also delicious. Even the kiddo had a good time with the omelet. And the service - 10 stars! So friendly and accommodating! I've never been so happy to see a Paw Patrol sticker in my life! LOL

Don't try the chilaquiles. They were the worse I have ever tried in my life. The first bad sign was that it came with both red and green salsa. I'm Mexican-American and know that that's a no no, but I tried it because the waitress said it was good. It was soupy and came with whole beans. The only good thing about it was the good cooked egg. Sour cream!!!. No! It was pretty insulting to our culture. Glad my mother wasn't with us. Indoor seating is limited. I don't mind waiting or being in crowded spaces if the food is good, not the case. The traditional breakfast was pretty good though. Comes with eggs, bacon, and hash browns. The server was pretty rude at first. I didn't really care because if the food is good, I would overlook a bad server. She gave sarcastic remarks and didn't come often enough to refill waters and coffee. Will not return. Food was a bit pricey. A lot of non-Latinos were eating there. I should have known. The outdoor seating was nice, but this intersection is not. Very noisy and kept looking around when crazy drivers flew by.

In an area where you wouldn't necessarily expect a great brunch place to be, there's a great brunch place. I visited Main Kitchen Cafe with my son one Sunday morning and we had surprisingly good foot, tasty and beautifully presented. The place was busy but we didn't have to wait too long for a table. The menu has good options for vegetarians in both the sweet and savory categories. We both got versions of the Chilaquiles. My simpler-palated son got his with scrambled eggs and no sour cream. I asked for "chef's choice" and they brought mine with eggs over easy. It was truly delicious and beautiful looking in the bowl they served it with. The coffee was good enough. They've even got Beyond Sausage as a side option so, again as a vegetarian, I felt well taken care of here. The food is nice and upscale and we'll definitely come back to try more!

I came to have breakfast with Mom . we ended up getting their breakfast burrito ( Chile verde) and we shared a plate of fruit with some toast. Service was great. The spot was clean. We did get seated towards the back and they did let us know that there was gonna be like some type of wind draft And so it might get cold but other than that, we had a good time orange juice was freshly squeeze so that was yummy. Parking can get a little bit complicated because it's off of Main Street but if you're lucky, you'll get parking right away and if not, you'll have to wait but not too bad.

My daughter and I are regulars here and we absolutely love the food ! The atmosphere is so calming and they always play nice music which makes our mornings. The servers, especially Mya, is filled with hospitality and is just the sweetest, always checking up on us. We have been here so often that the chef remembers our orders which we value so much

Chicken Fried Steak with potatoes, biscuit and country gravy... oh wait. They forgot the country gravy.
    Manny U.

Let me clarify that this review is regarding their TO GO/PICK UP service. Eating at the Granada Hills location is great. Friendly staff and great food. HOWEVER the rating drops DRAMATICALLY when you order for pickup or delivery. Consistently forgetting items and the food quality is significantly worse when you take it to go. This latest example... I order their Chicken Fried Steak that comes with potatoes, a biscuit and country gravy. Order is picked up and THERE IS NO COUNTRY GRAVY. How is that a miss? Not to mention that I have to remind them that there is a drink that came with the order or that would have been missed as well. Long story short, it is worth it during the week when it's not crowded and the food is MUCH better when you dine in. Avoid to go orders at all costs.

I was searching for an elegant dinner spot on yelp and this place popped up. After seeing some pics of the food and the ambience, I quickly made the rezzy and my wife and I were on our way. As you come in, it's like you enter another world -- one of elegance and beauty. You can't help but notice perfect ambient lighting and modern vibes throughout the inside dine-in area and as you enter their huge gorgeous backyard patio, you just know that you're in the right place. The seating area there is massive, with very modern finishes and towards the rear of the patio you have the most beautiful water feature piece, that looks like a human-size vase, with water running down the vase and being met by fire at the base. Just one incredible architectural piece that creates that posh, contemporary ambiance. After taking in the breathtaking design of the spot, we finally sat down and ordered food. We tried the tuna tartare, squash blossoms appetizer and my wife got a seabass entree while I got their highly recommended vodka pasta. All of the food was absolutely incredible, from the freshness of tuna tartare, uniquely wonderful flavor profile of the squash blossoms , to the yummy vodka lumaconi pasta and the most mouth-watering seabass that I've ever tried in my life. I honestly never thought a fish could taste so good. The seabass was charred on the outside and just incredibly soft on the inside. As you barely touch the seabass with the fork, a piece of succulent seabass gets separated simply due to the natural gravity of the fork. The taste is perfect. It's like they somehow cooked it with large piece of butter on the inside. The incredible flavor profile and the consistency of each bite of this seabass, were simply unparalleled. And to add to all this awesomeness, the bed of risotto was perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic as well. To finish off our meal, we decided to share their apple tart pastry and it too, was fresh, flavorful and that scoop of ice cream on top, made the pastry just perfect. This place hits a perfect trifecta, with its phenomenal modern design , incredible food and absolutely superb customer service. Our waiter Zach was extremely nice, helpful, attentive and he was just a perfect guide throughout tonight's culinary adventure. My wife and I are more than satisfied and can't wait to come to Casalena again!

($18 - Hangar 1 Mandarin Blossom Vodka, cold-pressed pineapple juice, fresh raspberry purée, lime juice fresh mint topper). I'm not a big drinker and am a fan of drinks that you can't really taste the alcohol and this was great. It was a fun to drink and was refreshing. For our entree my friend had the Fish & Chips. ($27 - Crispy haddock fillet, sea salt fries, tartar sauce, grilled lemon). I tried a piece of her fish and it was thinly battered, soft, and flavorful. I usually try to stay away from fried fish like this just because places use way too much better or the fish gets super oily but they was not the case with their fish & chips. You can tell they use quality ingredients. I had the 4 piece Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice. ($34 - Fresh ahi, dynamite sauce, wasabi tobiko, togarashi, toasted sesame). Oh my goodness was this delicious. This is usually something you'd eat as an appetizer but eating it alone is a meal in itself. Yes, it's pricey BUT it is totally worth it. Saint & Second is an upscale dining experience. Their food delivers to that level as well. I highly recommend if you're looking for a new date night spot or something intimate with friends. However, in my two most recent visits, only the atmosphere has remained a highlight -- the service has declined significantly. My most recent visit was two nights ago, on Father's Day, for a celebratory dinner. Our server was curt and unwelcoming throughout the meal. When my glass of wine arrived, the server suggested I taste it first -- which I did -- and it was immediately apparent that the wine had turned. Having ordered the same wine many times before without issue, I was confident this particular bottle was off. When I asked our server if the bartender could open a fresh bottle, she agreed without hesitation. However, moments later, a gentleman I assumed to be the manager approached and informed me that a new bottle would not be opened, as the current one had only been opened the day before and was, in his opinion, fine. His only alternative was to offer the same varietal at a higher price point. I understand that restaurants may have policies regarding open bottles, but in all my years of dining out, I have never encountered an establishment that refused to replace a glass of wine a guest found unacceptable -- especially when the server herself had encouraged me to taste it for that very reason. This experience left a lasting negative impression, and unfortunately I will neither return nor recommend this restaurant going forward.

The side wedge is a perfect starter size and the smashburger was tasty and filling. I didn't love the cherry peppers on the smashburger but that's on me for not asking them to be removed. The Lemon Gnocchi was light and delicate, the beet salad was fresh and beautifully balanced, and the Crispy Squash Blossoms stuffed with ratatouille were absolutely delicious. The Cold Hamachi Aguachile was probably the most interesting dish of the night. It's almost like a fish snow cone, which sounds odd until you try it. My mom would call it "moreish" because every bite makes you want another. The Jumbo Prawns à la Plancha were also excellent. But the standout for me was the Eggplant Parmesan.
