    Huge burrito
    Vee P.

I was in the area and dropped by to try their breakfast burrito - I figured if I found street parking then it was meant to be, and it was! The parking here is so difficult and I will never park in the back ever again because it's so tight and horrible, with only one lane in/out. I came here before for dinner and really enjoyed the food so I'm glad it worked out for me to try their burrito for breakfast. I ordered two carne asada burritos with egg and it was delicious with their spicy salsa. I love their spicy salsa! The burrito was big and the filling was proportionate. The meat was tender and delicious. The service was friendly and efficient, and t[[HIGHLIGHT]]he restaurant was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

One of the best chorizo breakfast burritos I've had! Delicious, Huge-size burritos and each bite just melts in your mouth. They serve it with a side of salsa and pico de gallo. Absolutely delicious and filling! The spot is a hole in the wall type of place with amazing and warm customer service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very low key spot, but more than makes up for it with service and the quality of food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely be back!

Huevos con Machaca and a side of chorizo

Really wanted to like their food from the amazing looking pictures on their page. We ordered breakfasts to-go and unfortunately neither plate was what we expected. I ordered the chilaquiles and requested both red and green since it was my first time trying them out I wanted to taste both salsas. I know it's a tricky dish for take out considering texture but we live close by so I wasn't concerned. And as I expected the texture of the chilaquiles was fine. You can tell they'd been drenched in salsa at one point with nice softness but not soggy. However they were lacking salsa once packed and severely severely lacking flavor. All I could taste was a small hint of tomatillo. My husband ordered huevos con machaca with a side of chorizo. I tried the machaca and again it was extremely bland. The chorizo was packed in its casing which was not aesthetically pleasing but at least it had flavor. The only thing that stood out was the rice and beans; now THOSE were delicious. They also don't have cafe de olla which was a bummer for a Mexican breakfast. Overall the only compliments I can give out is for their rice and beans and how generously portions are served. Unfortunately it just totally missed the mark on flavor.

Nothing but great things to say about this place! The food was delicious! We went in a group and each thing we ordered was cooked perfectly, the flavors were amazing! The staff were very friendly, and helpful, they went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our food and had all we needed! We will definitely be back! When there are this many five star reviews, you have to pay attention and check it out!!! Be forewarned! This place ain't fancy!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Look past the environment because the food and the service will make you feel like you're dining in someone's kitchen in their home!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And the homemade freshly made tortillas are worth the trip itself!!! I ordered Machaca and eggs which came with a generous side of rice and beans, which were absolutely delicious!!! I also like to order an à la cart chile relleno because it's usually a nice small side. This chile relleno was the size of the plate and was probably the best chile relleno I've had in my life. EVERYTHING was so fresh and filling! Reasonable prices for such generous portions! And the ladies who work there were just lovely and friendly and attentive! This place is a little out of the way up on Parthenia, but it's well worth my drive to come back again and try more things on their menu. Highly recommend!!!

So bomb. This little spot serves up some delicious, authentic Mexican food and man it hits. Good options for all meals including breakfast, and the people are nice. Our to-go order was cooked quickly but they def didn't cut any corners. My rancheros were wonderful from the sauce to the homemade tortillas. We also ordered a burrito and chilaquiiles rojos and everyone loved what they had. Definitely come visit this gem!

Finally some good carne asada fries! Fries and the carne asada seasoned to perfection the sour cream guacamole and cheese complement each other very well! My go too spot when it comes to getting carne asada fries. If you want more flavor put some hot sauce that they give you to give it a kick you won't regret it!

Yummy menudo with freshly made thick hot corn tortillas . Great flavors. My son got the red chilaquiles and those were delicious too. When you are seated, They bring out some crisp tostadas to use to dip into a little bean dip, salsa roja and pico del gallo. The orange juice was amazing. Fresh squeezed into a huge glass. The service was top notch as well, they were really nice and checked in on us frequently. We sat in their back patio. There is parking back there too. You can also sit in front on the restaurant but the back patio definitely has a chill vibe. They have a big speaker playing music too. I can't wait to go back to try their other food items!

We had to go to our eye, we are not from this area so I yelped best Mexican food near by and Daisy's had great reviews. We took a chance and actually passed by it, it's a little hole in the wall. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we arrived the music was playing loud and I hesitated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were greeted by two very nice waitstaff ladies. They quickly gave us homemade chips with chorizo bean dip that was delicious. I ordered the asada burrito it was full of meat and delicious. My husband had a Shrimp Torta with cactus, it's was so good!! The tortillas were handmade and also very good!! I highly recommend Daisy's the prices were very reasonable especially considering our current economy. Can't wait until next year's eye appointment, we are coming back.

Seafood Molcajete de Mariscos. Excellent for two people on a cold day.

Love seafood and the whole works. I heard they even offer you a bib, to get messy, which I am so down for. Anyway, same thing happened at this restaurant. A confidential envelope was posted on the door and we were not able to get in. Both sides of the doors were locked. Some other mail was on the ground and 2 were inside the restaurant. I don't know what is going on with both Oliva and this Crab House restaurants? It was dark inside as I snooped to see what the place looked like, was not able to see anything, except one side of the restaurant the chairs were placed on top of the tables. Again, either they are going out of business, or sold the restaurant to someone else. We dialed their number, no answer, left a message (twice), and no one called us back! Even until today. What a shame!! Was so looking forward to it. We were there on the 7th of this month at 12 noon. My friend drove all the way from Tarzana so we could have had lunch, but both restaurants let us down..

Back to the deli counter - they recommended I try the smoked sea bass since they don't get it in often so I took some of that and a smoked salmon collar. The hand roll bar was empty since it was late in the afternoon but too early for dinner. I promised the sushi chef there that I would return. So I went back today with a couple of friends. We sat at that hand roll bar and had the best hand rolls I've ever had. We ordered a la carte and I absolutely loved those creations - full of flavor, texture - unique and tantalizing! I'm curious to go back and try some of the other things on there like the burger? the shabu shabu? I can't wait to see how they serve those items. Their little market area is fascinating as well - with small bottles of soy sauce aged in bourbon barrels and other delicious sounding ingredients. I did end up taking home a shaker bottle of their house made furikake. Can't wait to try that! I'm so happy this is in the neighborhood. In fact, cocktails are a good few dollars less here than at other places in the area, especially Blvd Steak right next door. My martini was very cold, well-made and of a very generous size, so no complaints on that front at all. My wife ordered the Macadamia Crusted Halibut, with a double dose of starch: mashed potatoes and Mac & Cheese. The fish was fresh, meaty and nicely cooked, with a juicy interior and a very flavorful crust. The potatoes also had good flavor, but I found the mac & cheese to be wanting -- a bit too much like the packaged variety. However, my wife really liked it, so what do I know?! For my entree I ordered the Shrimp Louie Salad, a very generously portioned bowl of greens and assorted chopped veggies plus avocado, onion, hard boiled eggs and cool, poached shrimp, all topped with a Louie dressing. Everything was fresh as could be, the shrimp tasted terrific, and the avocado was a nice foil for the onion and chopped carrots. It was a very enjoyable entree salad. Although it didn't really necessarily show up as "the best food in LA area" but all the reviews were so good so I became curious to try. Mainly the reviews also raved about the vibes, services, and live music. Well, they were not wrong! It was fairly easy to make a reservation through Opentable, and I made a reservation for two people for my birthday dinner on Sunday night. I put on the notes that it's my bday so it'll be nice to get a nice table near the stage. I didn't have a high expectation, cos I'd never been to the place and I didn't make a call or anything. But wow, they definitely gave us a great table at the very front! As many reviewers had mentioned, the acoustic of the restaurant is really great. You can barely hear other people's conversations. There's a live jazz band playing, so you can really enjoy that. Although it made it slightly hard to hear what other nearby people say to you either, haha. Our server Dawson was a really great one! Very nice, very informative and just has a great vibe that made you feel comfortable to converse with him. We also asked if he could take a picture of us and he went above and beyond with taking our pictures haha. He took the table lamp as our additional "lighting". Such a great service! Dawson also made a few suggestions on food. We ordered the milk bun (so great!), the tiger prawns tostada (omg, my favorite of the night!), braised lamb pasta, pork belly risotto, and roasted broccolini. Everything was really good and really filled us up! We also got the "smokin old fashioned" and "Wake up and repeat" cocktails. It was plenty of food for us so we asked for a check. Dawson asked if we wanted a dessert but we were already full. He asked if it's ok to give us a lil treat for my bday. It was a really nice dessert :). Oh I forgot to mention that they also put a small bday card on the table for me. The prices of food and drinks are on the higher sides, but I feel like it's worth it due to the live music and the vibe. It easily covers the entertainment part. We definitely will go back and recommend this place for anyone who's looking into a nice date night or to celebrate something special. I was informed that Friday has more of a "party vibe" here, although it's still a jazz performance. Sunday feels more laid back :) Overall I'm really pleased by this place. I used to think that I don't care that much about excellent service as long as the food is great, but I was wrong. The excellent hospitality just made the night even better than expected. Thank you for making my bday dinner memorable.

The usually have a live band after 7pm and the sound in the resturant is amazing. It's like a recording studio. The staff was very friendly! The decor and ambiance was also impressive. Definitely swanky but down to earth vibes. I got the rasberry beret cocktail and it was different but fabulous. Not sure how else to describe it. It was refreshing. We got the tiger prawns and it was presented as a toasta, which had a great flavor and texture. The apple salad was also refreshing and a good portion to share between 2 people. The broccolini was cooked perfectly and my favorite after the tiger prawns was the Dungeness crab pasta. It had uni on top! The uni elevated the dish, and honestly there were a good amount of crab meat in the dish. Overall well balanced and creamy. The 2 of us left full and satisfied. Highly recommend this place for a date night. There's also plenty of street parking when we went but there is also valet for $15.
