My brother was dying to go here and because of the distance I was very reluctant. But it was well worth the travel. The food was spectacular. The beef Wellington melted in your mouth. The sides were all fresh. I liked the bake Bree. It was perfect. I highly recommend the key lime pie!
First off, outstanding service here, such personable staff. It was very clear that there were mostly regulars as well that enjoyed not only the food, but the interaction with the waitress. It really is a hidden gem, super small parking lot but plenty of street parking. It was definitely classy and had a nice vibe despite the area. I would definitely return. Fresh, tasty, and affordable. I love finer dining places that accommodate to everyone!
If you look up "hidden gem" in a dictionary, the definition will be CF food kitchen. Never heard of it? Neither had we, until someone suggested it. I called to make a reservation and spoke to Silvia it was very friendly and upbeat. Turns out, fortunately for us, Silvia became our server, and added a great deal to our enjoyment. On the right side of the menu are several different three-course dinners, appetizer, Main, dessert. The left side of the menu also look to delicious, but all four of us chose three course meal. I also ordered the scallop appetizer because it sounded good, and it was absolutely amazing. Two of us had clam chowder as a starter, and we both felt that it might be the best one we have ever eaten. There was an order of fried brie which was outstanding, and an order of crab cake. We traded tasting each of the three different ones, and all four of us loved them all. I had a beef Wellington cooked to perfection. Two people had a ribeye cooked perfectly, and the fourth order the Chilean sea bass which looked phenomenal. We all traded tastes, except the one who ordered the sea bass did not share. I guess he really liked it. The desserts were outstanding. Puff pastry with berry, an unusual and excellent cheesecake, bread pudding which was dynamite. We brought two bottles of wine, and corkage fee was moderate. We all raved about the food, about the service, the comfortable environment. Don't miss this place!
I can't believe it's been 8 years going to CF Food Kitchen. The BEST hidden gem restaurant. I've tried just about everything on the menu. I usually go in and tell Silvia to surprise me. This time I felt like the pecan crusted chicken but added a side of corn & crab cream. I've never had it and my friend says she loves it and will order whatever entree that has it. I REALLY hope they make it a regular item. Silvia always welcomes us with a wonderful greeting and warm hug. She makes you feel like you are her favorite customer. Always remembers your likes and loves. The place is always clean and has a simple aesthetic look. White cloth tablecloths with glass tabletops.
After spending the last two NYE's here with family, I think an update is much needed! CF Food Kitchen continues to consistently put out incredibly good food that is a step above most other establishments in the area - a true hidden gem in this little Granada Hills strip mall. I always get the fried brie appetizer and beef Wellington because they are just so good and beef Wellington is not a commonly found menu item. They are executed perfectly and I savor every last bit. During holidays, they offer a 3 course menu only - NYE was a reasonably priced $50 for appetizer, entree, and dessert with many entree options to choose from. My father ordered the lamb shank and two others ordered the pork chop, and all were very happy with their meals. My only complaints would be the portion of veggies is quite small, but it is a nice assortment. Bread and butter is now a $5 charge, instead of free. It was very good and about 10 pieces but the amount of butter was not enough IMO for the amount of bread. Most of us had the key lime pie for dessert which was incredibly creamy and delicious! The hostess/waitress/wife of the owner/chef, Sylvia, has at times in the past not been super friendly but at our visit this last NYE she was incredibly warm and attentive. We were amazed that she remembered us from the previous NYE and even the table we sat at! It is a small parking lot so it can be a little hard to find parking there if they are especially busy but there is ample street parking available. I have found it is generally an older crowd that comes here for dinner but there were some people around my age (30's) when we came on NYE. Overall, the food here is the real standout and the north valley is lucky to have CF Food Kitchen!
This is the definition of a hidden gem. Located in a small unassuming shopping center. Can easily be missed. Once inside- it is a no frills and no showboating type of restaurant, but what they lack in design makes up for in their delicious food and hospitality. There was one server manning the place and she was such a delight. Giving attention to all and making you feel welcomed. They serve beer and wine plus soft drinks and coffee. We started off with some Pinot Grigio and took a look at the food menu. You can order items à la carte but they also have three course specials which seemed like a good bang for your buck. Plus was so excited to see Beef Wellington on the menu! We ordered som seared scallops to share and they were cooked perfectly. For our three course specials we went with- *Clam chowder, rib eye, and pumpkin cheesecake *Burrata salad, Beef Wellington, and poached pear Honestly everything was very very good! We licked our plates clean but the star of the show was the Beef Wellington. Hands down. Such a great meal from beginning to end. Chef Flores knows his stuff. Don't judge a book by its cover.
My first time here and exceptional service with unbelievable hospitality. They go above and beyond to make sure their customer needs are met. I normally don't do Yelp reviews often, but I feel like this business deserves one. I ordered the Sea Bass. And considering it was my first time here dining in, I was a little worried it was too over cooked... not tender and is very dry. But I was pleasantly amazed last night, it was absolutely beautiful. Very tender very juicy and very tasty. I will definitely be back again. This place is a true hidden gem in the valley.
Delicious ! Fresh! Delightful!!! This unassuming hidden gem is absolutely 5 stars. I had the crab cake and honey pecan pear salad and it did not disappoint. Finished with the House Made Key Lime pie and coffee. PHENOMENAL!!! Will definitely come back when I'm in the area. Don't sleep on this spot! The service was lovely as well as friendly. This was such an overall a greta experience. Highly recommend.
My second visit. I was invited by my friend Jenn for lunch who is a regular there and loves the cuisine and the Owners/Chef. I was impressed by the offerings of a fine dining experience here in the SFV. Decor slightly dated and table settings are classic and simple which adds to the charm. The owners were just lovely as I remember. The wife was our server and the husband is the Chef. I had the pecan encrusted chicken and it was amazing. For dessert I had a key lime cheesecake to go since I had to return to work. From the outside you would never think you are going to have a meal like this. It's located in a tiny strip mall. Parking was challenging but worth it. Treat yourself and visit CF Food Kitchen.
The food and service were excellent. The staff's attention to detail -- both in hospitality and in the presentation of each dish -- really stood out. The Beef Wellington was perfectly cooked, the scallops were spot on, and the fried brie with berry pastry was absolutely delicious. I dine out for work most nights and travel about 70% of the time across the country, so I've experienced a lot of restaurants. It was a fun surprise to discover this hidden gem while waiting for traffic to clear. Definitely worth the stop.
Despite knowing about CF Food Kitchen for a very long time, this was the first time dining there. I had high hopes and have high expectations; both were exceeded. The restaurant is cute. The parking is a bit tight. The menu is compact yet varied enough for almost anyone with a "normal diet". Had the pork chop and it was fantastic. Dining partner had the beef Wellington and it was also fantastic. Appetizers were fried Brie and a burrata salad and dessert were key lime tart and bread pudding. Guess what... they were fantastic. The service was friendly and professional. All in all, a really enjoyable dinner. An experience to repeat!
The meal was delicious. I forgot to take a pic of my fried Brie but that was my favorite. My husband has been wanting to try a beef Wellington for years and reddit pointed me here so we drove an hour for it. We were not disappointed. Service was excellent. We will be back when we can make the trip up here.
Locally owned. Chef Driven. Off the beaten path. Hidden Gem. I can go on and on ... Granada Hills. If you don't know where it's at - take a break from the dining hubs in LA and go experience some fine dining in a casual setting. Parking could pose a challenge depending on when you go. It was Sunday, 4:30 when I arrived and the parking lot was somewhat empty. Free. No meters. Yet something else you can look forward to unlike paying for parking in LA. Walking in, immediately greeted by Silvia - also happens to be Chef Flores' wife. Words like warm, welcoming, impeccable and exceptional come to mind when thinking of the service. Opted for the following: Burrata Salad, Braised Lamb Shank and Bread Pudding. See pics. The Burrata Salad was simple but sublime. Nice balance of richness and acidity. I scraped the dish to get the creamy tangy mixture - stopping short of licking the plate because the Lamb arrived. The lamb that was basically fall of the bone. Tender and juicy and most importantly, not gamey. Finishing off with the Bread Pudding - not as custardy as I prefer but still moist and sweet in a homey kinda way. I'd order all three dishes again in a heartbeat. This is the kind of dining experiences I truly enjoy. I would try to describe it but my words wouldn't do it justice. You'll have to head to the valley and try it yourself. I know I'll be heading back for more. CF Kitchen is on the list.

No frills, no thrills, no gimmicks. The food is amazing and the customer service is excellent. We were late to our reservation however they were able to take us a bit later which we appreciated. We got the pre set 3 course meal. Sylvia was great. Happy we came here read more

CFfoodkitchen in Granada Hills is a quaint, warm restaurant with the best Beef Wellington in the Valley. In Granada Hills! My friends plans changed, but I went anyway. I wait for no one. The restaurant is tucked in a small convenience strip on the corner of Devonshire and Woodley. Parking is limited but there is lots of street parking. The convenience store let me park in the front. You'll meet Sylvia when you walk in. Sylvia made me feel as if I was there last week. The restaurant is well lit and has good ambiance. The bathroom was very clean. I chose crab cake as my appetizer. I would have loved two crab cakes, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I went to CF Food for their Beef Wellington, and I was not disappointed. The pastry was golden and crispy, with a gentle firmness at the base to bed the Beef. The Beef Wellington was perfect!! It was tender, cut through like butter and was perfectly seasoned, which awakened your palate. I don't know why I ordered medium. I should have ordered medium rare. Note to self. The pommes puree was firm yet smooth. I couldn't get enough of it. I think I licked my fork I was driving so one glass of Cabernet would do. I ended this spectacular meal with a slice of cheesecake. As you can see by my empty plates, I enjoyed my dinner. I noticed several couples on a date, and friends who fought over the check. If you're looking for a new restaurant to visit. My family celebrated my Son birthday at CF Food Kitchen in Granada Hill Ca. The Service was excellent. And the Food was so delicious , it was like a 5 star meal , it is very healthy and just the right amount of portion . We had a three course meal, it comes with appetizer, your entrée and a dessert , my family and I enjoyed our meal.We were very impressed with the food chosen from the menu. There was a lot to choose from the menu. The atmosphere was very nice and pleasant and very soft music in the background. It was very peaceful. We enjoyed being there together. We would come back for another celebration. It's a great place for a Date night! The waitress was very pleasant and attentive to your needs , She was very polite and friendly. Thank You C. First time at this restaurant and everything was great. Our server was wonderful, very friendly and outgoing. Food was delicious. We ordered the dinner 3 course special. Tried the mini crab cake and the fried Brie. Beef Wellington and the Steak Diane. Key lime pie and the bread pudding. Everything was well prepared and the presentation was exquisite. Definitely a hidden gem. Definitely give it a try if you haven't been. read more

We started with a Cesar salad and the lobster bisque. Both were outstanding. My wife got the Steak Diane. I had the Beef Wellington. I was so impressed that despite me asking for medium, it was flavorful and very moist! The steak Diane was tasty, but we both agreed that the Beef Wellington was the star. Unfortunatly, they both disappeared way too fast! For desert, she had the bread pudding and I asked for the fruit tart. Both were great, but the bread pudding was the winner! This is a high quality, but unpretentious restaurant. Sylvia, the hostess is such a wonderful person, who makes everyone feel valued! This is one of our favorite restaurants in all of Los Angeles! read more

For the times we live in, I feel the prices were very reasonable. The outside looks like a regular liquor store stop and the inside is comfortable. Nothing flashy about this place. Where they excelled are what mattered. Service from our waitress was top notch. Attentive but not overbearing. Presentation of the food was beautiful with a taste to match! This was my first time tasting beef wellington and I loved it!! I paired mine with a shiraz and bread pudding to finish. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a spot where you don't have to dress flashy, but want the flashy, delicious food. read more

This place is such a gem. Took my family for a treat. I had the 3 course meal, which started with the clam chowder soup, followed by the beef Wellington and polished off with a cheese cake. I also got the chance to sample the crab cakes and the key lime pie thanks to my wife. Equally incredible. Our server was very attentive and lots of fun, keeping our teenagers engaged. So glad to have this place close by. It a small place , so call ahead to confirm or reserve your place. Parking is a pain, since it is a small center but worth the hassle for what you are about to experience. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

I have died and gone to heaven ! The food and service are a 10 plus . The sauce on the pork chop is unbelievable! I will definitely be back . It did not disappoint ! We just went to CF Food Kitchen. It was delicious!! The restaurant was clean and well run. It had a nice ambiance. The food was so good. We went with the three course meal. For appetizer I had the clam chowder and it was super tasty. I had the branzino fish, rice and veggies. Delish!!! The key lime dessert did not disappoint. It was super tasty. Our server was so kind, friendly and attentive. We loved our visit. I highly recommend it. read more

Finally tried CF Food Kitchen! The space is small and comfortable with 1 side space for a larger group and approx 10 tables. The food was absolutely everything I had hoped for and read about. We went on NYE, 5 of us. To start, I ordered the Caesar salad. It was delightfully lemony (mild). My main course was Beef Wellington and each bite was a treat. It was tender and juicy and delicious. It came with potatoes, carrots and a small cube of sweet potato. I wrapped it up with a piece of delicious key lime pie. I took a bite of my husband pork chop which was thick and juicy with a wonderful flavor. His was accompanied by the same sides and he ordered the green salad which looked great. The service was outstanding. I think we drank a few gallons of water and never had to ask for more. Our food came out rather quickly, considering the restaurant was full, with people waiting. Everybody was kind and helpful and running around to make sure that everyone was pleased. We will absolutely go back to try their regular menu. read more

I had a wonderful and unexpected dining experience at CF (Chef Flores) Food Kitchen this evening! This place is truly a gourmet delight. I started with the clam chowder, OMG! Honestly, I haven't had clam chowder this enjoyable in a good while. For the main course, I ordered the Steak Diane, which was perfectly cooked and not overly seasoned. I recommend getting it medium for the best flavor! The Beef Wellington was also incredible. I only sampled a bit, but it was so delicious that I almost wish I had ordered it. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed my Steak Diane. My daughter loved the Wagyu beef ravioli. She said it was absolutely delicious, and seeing her empty plate, I'd have to agree, LOL! For dessert I had the bread pudding, pleasurably complemented by the caramel sauce, it was the perfect way to end my meal! How did we find CF Kitchen ? My son was looking for a restaurant that served Beef Wellington, and CF kept coming up. He chose it for his birthday dinner, and we're so glad he did! I wish we had known about this spot sooner, but now that we do, we'll definitely be back! This so-called "hole in the wall" is a fabulous little jewel here in the West San Fernando Valley. In my opinion, it's comparable to Maggiano's, one of my all-time favorite places. The prices are reasonable, and I highly, highly recommend CF. It was a pleasure meeting Chef Flores, and our waitress, Silva was excellent, truly wonderful people! read more

The beef wellington and mashed potatoes were absolutely amazing. Crab cake had a great crunch and the key lime pie was perfect. My husband was able to call and switch my order for a later time because he was running late to pick it up and they accommodated the request with no issue whatsoever. CF Food Kitchen offers a first class dining experience and lovely ambiance unlike any other restaurant in the San Fernando Valley and maybe Los Angeles. Apparently named for Chef Flores, you'll find dishes not usually found elsewhere in our town (such as the famous Beef Wellington). Tucked away in the corner of a typical Valley mini-mall, dining here was a revelation, a reminder that a great meal is to be savored and enjoyed. Along with my dining companions, we each ordered the three course dinner (appetizer, main course, and dessert). Appetizer: We shared the scallops, which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. A delicious start to the meal. First Course: I ordered the Ceasar salad, one of the best I've ever had. The lettuce was fresh, the croutons were crisp, and the dressing was tangy. Main course: Beef Wellingnton, of course. This was my first time trying this dish; I was blown away by the level of skill required to cook the beef perfectly to order (medium for me) and encase it in perfectly cooked pastry. A must order! Dessert: Key lime pie. Perfect balance of tangy and sweet, with a creamy texture and wonderful crust. Coffee: The coffee was notably rich and delicious. How many times has my last memory of a fantastic dinner been marred by a tiny little cup of bitter coffee? Not here, it was flavorful and a generous serving. Service: Friendly, attentive, and helpful. Parking: Free in the mini--mall, street parking as well. Corkage: Corkage was $15/bottle, which I find reasonable. My highest recommendation. Yes, but it was at least 2 years ago so call to ask for present fees.

It's not on the lunch menu but you might be able to ask nicely. They are very accommodating.

Yes! The chef is wonderful and will likely make a special dish if they child does not see something that appeals to him/her. Enjoy!!

Reservations will always have priority and walk-ins will also get a table, just have a little patience.
