My nephew had his 13th birthday celebration at Main Event Lubbock in Lubbock, TX back in mid September 2025. I didn't have high expectations, but I ended up enjoying it along with my two pre-teen daughters. Got my butt whipped by my little brother in mini golf. Watched my youngest win more tickets than she knew what to spend on. She ended up with candy. Lol. We all had a blast in laser tag. It sucked that my younger nieces were not tall enough for it, but next time maybe! My crew had a blast in bowling. For three pairs of shoe rentals, I paid $16.08. They ordered so much food and drinks. I had a double shot of whiskey in honor of Charlie Kirk who had recently been killed. Later I brought the strike wrath upon my brother as payback for all the holes-in-one he had in golf. The restrooms were not super clean. The parking was free and easy. I recommend a fun card for the kids. They can swipe and go at each game plus view their balance easily. Keep the card because it saves you $3 per card with activation. I think I put $51 on each card. read more

Overall, it was a fun time. The staff was accommodating. We had eaten before, so we didn't try the food, but the drinks were good.

Pros: The staff we interacted with were really helpful and nice. We came in on Friday and there was enough staff to make the lines and every interaction really smooth and quick. Bowling, arcade, laser tag, minigolf, etc were a great cost with their special going on for $19.99! Cons: Even with enough staffing there were a ton of tables that were left with garbage and trash that it took a while for them to be cleaned off while a lot of the staff were standing around. If there was a designated person to clean maybe staff just 1 more person for it since it's a big place but a ton of tables and arcade area dirty. Also, it's not until you scan the menu from the bar and bowling area that you know there are other foods to choose from versus the ice cream and pizza that's offered in the food court area since the signs only mention those two options. read more

I was completely surprised in a great way about our most recent experience at Main Event Lubbock. Haven't been in the building in a long time but things have changed. The seating area to eat has had a major facelift and looks amazing. The new booths, tables and chairs and overall setup look and feel super nice. We had a great time and got a table quite fast even with the many people that were there . Our waiter Conner was excellent and did the best he can to make sure we were served quickly and he had a great attitude. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Myself and the group I'm with called about our reservation for bowling at least 15 times within a 20 minute time span and nobody answered the phone. Finally, we chose the option to speak to an attendant and got in touch with someone after trying for 20 minutes. She finally took it upon herself to get ONE glass and then proceeded to watch five people drink from the same glass bc they're thirsty from playing laser tag, something they paid for, after they spent hours bowling. Horrible service at the Bar. Waited in line to grab a drink and was helped quickly. But then sat at two empty chairs at the bar and wasn't helped for 20 minutes. The boys washing dishes didn't greet us either, which I assumed were bussers. I had to ask the boy to grab a bartender for me and once we got our drinks, we never got helped again. Had empty drinks for over 45 minutes and still had to yell at one of the bartenders for our tab. Please get some help or get better. read more

Lubbock gets boring fast (especially after 20+ years). WE NEED ENTERTAINMENT. Unfortunately, it is kind of a miss. Sorry Main Event. Glow Golf? Fun, but short. Maybe challenge yourself to all hole in ones. Laser Tag? You point lasers at vests and hide behind walls. No pain no gain. Bowling? DO NOT come here for bowling. $30 to bowl per hour past 5pm. Their alleyway is nowhere near being a real bowling alley. Other official bowling alleys in Lubbock cost $10 to 20 for 2 hours. Arcade? It's pretty fun. But not something I would drive out of the way anymore. There are a few places in mind that have better arcades in Lubbock. Billiards? Just buy one at home and keep an alcohol stash nearby. When you are drunk enough, feel free to sleep on the table. read more

We came here with my family to spend time on a trip and boy is this place visually stimulating! All the flashing lights everywhere cause a lot of sensory awareness which is not a good or bad thing but probably not the best for people who are prone to overstimulation or sensory overloads (sometimes me) so I could only really stay for a few hours until my eyes couldn't take it anymore lol but that doesn't mean this place isn't great for kids. My daughter loved running around with me and her father around to all the different games. There was a simulated roller coaster game called typhoon I believe and she thought it was absolutely incredible (she is 2.5) but the look on her face from riding it was pretty priceless. The pizza at the labella cafe was ok but the fries they had were really good and so was the ice cream! We didn't get a chance to bowl or putt putt since the place was about half capacity due to Covid restrictions we just stuck with the arcade but I am really impressed with how well they kept it together for the sake of the customers. They even had multiple tables prepared with face masks, hand sanitizer, and information necessary to understand these very complex times we are in. Would definitely come again to spend a great time with my family! read more

I went here for an ill-planned evening of trying to catch up with my cousins over some bowling. The Good: I went on a Monday night and there was an all inclusive pass that only cost about $10. I ordered a bucket of Bud Light and the bottles were pints in the shape of bowling pins. The Bad: I didn't expect a bowling alley to turn virtually turn into a club at night. It's definitely not what I was expecting. The music was way too loud for anyone to talk. Each game of bowling cuts out after 1 hour. If you're playing with a full list of people, you definitely won't get through a whole game. When the time runs out you have to go to the front to get the workers to start another game for you. Overall: Now I know what I'm getting into if I try going at night. If you want good ole bowling, definitely go during the day. read more

Im sure it's the kid in me, but I love Main Event. It is very clean, not terribly expensive, and because of its large size it doesn't seem crowded. I would suggest renting a bowling lane for an hour and then your party has unlimited bowling for that time. The food and drinks offered is pretty good, but (again because of its size) sometimes the servers can take a little while. The mini golf is sorta corny and tends to be my least favorite part of our visits. But, like Barney Stinson I will laser tag my butt off. read more

I understand that COVID creates staffing issues in most restaurants, however that was not the issues. We had to wait so we were seated in the dinning area and were told a server would be with us shortly. They never came. We ended up leaving our table after thirty minutes without service. They had an hour wait with 10 lanes open and five servers on the floor on the bowling area alone. That did not include the arcade or the dinning area. Servers at the bowling area did not even care to introduce themselves or offer services. We played almost an entire game without being addressed. I had two drinks at the bar earlier and the bar tender was very nice and quick with ordering. I went back to the bar. I guess the servers don't want tips. I hope the bar keeps all of their tips. I am not giving this place a high rating due to customer service. Servers should always introduce themselves to their area. The establishment should consider self order kiosk at the tables and eliminate servers to reduce cost sense staff may not be that reliable during these times. read more

We just relocated out here to Lubbock Texas. And I would not recommend wasting your time or money on this location. I have never felt so unwanted in an establishment. And right after having a conversation with the manager about how we will be well taken care of and how we just moved here and haven't been to this location yet. My wife son and I have been going to main event every week for the last two years after talking to my whole family about how much we love coming to main event I finally talked my family in to letting me take them here for some bowling games and food. We started with bowling and after an hour of bowling with no service other than being walked to our lane, we gone no help. Because there is none in this building. After asking twice for help and another hour going by, we left no wonder this place is always empty. They need to learn the meaning of customer service and more importantly hospitality. read more

We went on a weeknight and stayed until close. It was a blast! During the day, it is explosively loud, but they had turned things down somewhat. At least we could hear ourselves talk with no shouting. Snack Bar was fine, for a snack. Pricing is insanely expensive. ( 13 and change for 1 large order of fries and 3 bottles of Aquafina Laser tag was fun, mini golf was a blast. Bowling was ok. The lane froze, so we had to quit before our game ended. If it wouldn't have been near closing time, I would have said something. We did the pay one price special and it was def worth it. In three and a half hours we did 2 rounds of laser tag, mini golf and bowling plus video games in between. Fun for older kid family outings. read more

This was best experience ever at any bar setting. Yhe games, Laser Tag, PUT PUT, and bowling are incredible and fun. The colors and the atmosphere were amazing. The games we family friendly for all ages. Monday special for made tonight so much better since we could afford to do so much. Definitely look into the package deals. The games were amazing and the staff were great. J.T. had to be the best bartender/ server that I have ever had. He was amazing at entertaining and taking care of us. It was like he became best friend in a matter of minutes. He took such great care of my friend Nick and I. I saw a milkshake that looked amazing and he took it and made an adult version. If you go there ask for the Emily Oreo Muffin Special. You will not regret it. I have never been so happy with service, entertainment, and staff. Though we were treated like best friends, J.T. was very professional had so much knowledge about his job and how the drinks were made and tasted. I felt like I was being entertained by a family member or someone who I have known for years. J.T. was a hard worker and great at handling us and other customers without trouble. Would not recommend to go on a Saturday because it's always crazy packed but a lot of things to do for the kiddoes.

We had a little trouble with our lane resetting but the manager and technician took care of the issue right away. She even added extra time to our bowl which was very smart we bowled longer so order extra rounds of drinks win win on both sides. They have glow bowling and glow golf. It stays open late which also offers arcade for every ages. You can win prizes by collecting points and redeeming them towards the end. Horrible service. Came here with family a couple days ago and wasn't given a server for the first hour after asking three times if we could get someone to our lane. Wanted to have dinner here and only ended up getting an order of the pretzel bites because our server only came to check on us twice during our 2 hour bowling session. Wanted to give it a second chance tonight, definitely not coming ever again. Heard one of the front desk workers tell each other that lanes 1-10 were to be told they couldn't get a server..? Got put at lane 11 and was only given drinks, after he gave us our drinks we didn't see him the rest of the night until our hour session was up. We did see all of the workers at the front desk talking and joking around with each other though. We tried to get pizza in the little cafe and was told it would take 10 minutes so we went to mini golf for almost an hour and when we came back to try and get pizza on our way out she told us she forgot to put the order in for more pizzas to be made. Not quite sure how I feel about being charged per hour instead of per game as far as the bowling goes. Also not sure how I feel about having bowling ball sizes "small, medium, large" etc. instead of pounds. Maybe that's just how Texas rolls. See what I did there? I used bowling jargon to make the reader feel more comfortable. But the important thing is that I had a pretty fun time. It was late on a Sunday night and there wasn't much of a crowd, which I liked. Back home, my bowling experience is usually ruined by jam packed alleys filled with riffraff and douche bags, or the sheer inability to acquire a lane due to league play. At least on this night, I didn't have to worry about any of those things. Unlike some people, I do enjoy the flashy lights and all the hip-hop music during the game. Mas points.
