Terrible experience at Skate Ranch. We waited about 10 minutes just to get skates with no help at all. When we finally spoke up, the older employee gave us attitude instead of helping. All we did was politely say we'd been waiting, and instead of apologizing, he made us wait even longer. Completely unprofessional. What made it worse was as we were walking away, he insulted my little brother and called him a "dumbass." That's completely unacceptable, especially toward a kid. On top of that, the bathroom was disgusting--no soap, no running water, and it was completely trashed. Customer service and cleanliness here are terrible. I won't be coming back. read more

Keep it Old Skool! Great rink, nice staff and good selection at snack bar. Plenty of seating around the rink as well as in snack bar area. I went on Adult night and the music selection was fantastic. My only concern was the lighting. Was far too dark inside for me, especially towards the back of the rink. read more

The owner or manager is rude and ugly. Uses profanity. Do not recommend. My daughter was using the wall to hang onto. He told her to get the fuck off the wall. She also got ran over and knocked down. He came by and asked if her brains were falling out. She told him no so he said you're fine then. read more

What a fun night! The prices here are reasonable! $8 for an adult, $1 slice pizza, drinks are not expensive either! The staff were all nice, and helpful. One even carried the pizza to our table and brought us plates and napkins...we didn't catch the name but he was super buff. The skates were in good condition, too! Be warned it gets hot fast skating, so don't forget your sweat bands and short sleeves! read more

This place is a blast from the past. Expect things as they used to be. You can still watch one of the regulars disco skating. Super fun! Kevin, the original owner for 50 years, is a man who knows all about skating and loves teaching people how to skate. He knows hundreds of the past and current skaters by name and treats everyone like your favorite ornery grandpa would. Love it!! read more

This is an old roller skating ring from god know when, my guess is the 70's but probably even before that. It's not modern and it's not fancy. The rink floor is waxed cement and if you fall it will hurt, a lot. The old gentleman who runs the place has probably been there since it's inception. I'm betting this place is a Lubbock institution. Worth checking out for sure! read more

Love SkateRanch. I've been coming since I was a kid. The Bakers have a great thing going. Come visit this Lubbock landmark.

The hours and prices are different than it says online. 2:00-4:30 during the Friday we came at $6 a skater w/skate rental. But there's plenty of space and a really nice old gentleman running the place. Retro-fun! read more

I find it funny that the owner of the skate ranch is unconcerned about the safety or the well being of any child visiting. On Friday 3/25/11, my daughter got jumped and beat up outside the building. It is very sad that the owner doesnt take any steps to make sure kids are safe at all times. read more

My kids go there and skate all the time and are on the hockey team i think the owner is a WONDERFUL man and all he is concerned about is the kids. He does all this out of the kindness of his heart you dont find many people or places like this anymore. read more
