Portion size went down. Mostly breading, low meat-to- breading ratio. Quality and Quantity trending down the past months.

Pro: they use canola oil to fry. Con: the chicken strips were extremely greasy - definitely be forewarned, don't wear nice clothing here! Two orders was $34

Personally my favorite hot chicken sandwich chain. Tenders are flavorful with good spice levels, bun is sweet and tasty, and the fries are crispy and also seasoned very well. Street parking sucks, but the nearby parking garage supposedly has a space for if you're picking up an order (saw this sign too late to make use of it ).

Stopped by Main Chick Hot Chicken while on a food tour and ordered a chicken sandwich. The bun was a bit on the smaller side, but the chicken itself was a nice size. I went with the medium spice level, and it definitely delivered heat -- I could smell the chile before even taking a bite. The spice kind of dominated the flavor, though. I think it could've benefited from a sauce or maybe just a touch more salt to balance things out. Overall, it was okay. The shop itself is pretty small and not really a sit-down-and-eat type of place. That said, the service was on point and the staff was friendly and welcoming.

Came here yesterday to have lunch with my best friend and her boyfriend since they were visiting from up north and they wanted a chicken sandwich. Good luck on free parking. There is parking at ONE Colorado parking structure. The first 15 mins is free and then paid after that. This spot is quite small but cute. When we went, it wasn't very busy. We went on a Saturday around 12ish pm. I ordered: -Dark Meat Chicken Sandwich- Medium $6.99 -Season Crinkle Cut Fries $6.00 -Ube Cheesecake $6.99 The chicken sandwich was juicy and had nice heat level. I was kind of expecting Medium to be hotter in my opinion. The crinkle cut fries had a nice touch of seasoning & crunch to it. I really enjoyed the sauce it came with it. The Ube Cheesecake was probably by far my favorite out of everything. When I first took a bite of the Ube Cheesecake, I couldn't really taste the Ube right away but then the flavor came through slowly at the end, kind of lingered in the back of my mouth. This is a nice place to a get a quick bite if you're in the area.

YUM! Main Chick Hot Chicken is mouthwatering :3 ! Tried the Combo 1 that comes with a slider, tender, fries and 1 sauce. I would recommend getting two sauces though (additional fee may apply) [Spice Level~ Spicy] It did have a kick to it, but nothing unbearable, so if you like spicy chicken definitely get this level or even take it up a notch, which I'll do on my next visit LOL! I will note that the inside is quite small and only has 4 stools, that's it. So your chances of eating inside are slim, but there is an outdoor public seating area nearby which a few of the other business share. Overall, I would highly recommend coming here. Give it a shot, they are a growing business & I've seen them expand to other cities! *P.S. Try the Mac n' Cheese here! TO DIE FOR! It's the creamy white cheddar kind! ^~^

First time trying and I was amazed. Their sandwiches are so good and I like that you can choose between dark and light meat. The combos are good value for money as well. Service was excellent. The cashier was helpful and kind. It's a very small area so there's not a lot of seating so it might be hard to eat inside during peak hours. Overall would come again if I were in the area.

There's nothing better than crispy fried chicken when you're craving for a simple, satisfying meal or snack! So happy to discover this hidden gem tucked away in a small spot along an alley in Old Town Pasadena. I got the non-spicy two-piece chicken with fries, bread, and their special MC sauce. The chicken was extra crispy, juicy, and perfectly marinated. You can tell it's freshly fried and not frozen. The fries were surprisingly addicting, -- crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Prices are very reasonable, and while the space is small, it's clean and well-ventilated. Such a solid spot for a quick and tasty bite!

Dangerous how close this spot is to my work... Tried Main Chick Hot Chicken for the first time and it's so good. The chicken is perfectly crispy and juicy and the flavor's on point. I like how fresh the pickle is and it has a good crunch to it. I was surprised the sauce is packaged and not made in house but it's still good. It's a small shop with 4 or 5 bar seats to enjoy fresh there, other than that, it's good for togo / pick ups. Definitely recommend and will be back.

Parking was a bit difficult if you want to be in front. Otherwise there is parking on the street as long as you pay during the week. This place is a simple, hip little place. Thera limited seating. Service was quick and friendly. We got the chicken sandwich and fries. The chicken sandwich was crunchy and juicy. The prices were a bit high.

The ordering kiosk was down when we went, but they reset it for us. You can also order at the counter. This chicken was very good! Nice and crispy, and even the naked was flavorful. Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the seasoning on the fries. I think it was a seasoning salt, but either way it was too salty and just had too many spices for a fry. I wanted it to contrast the chicken, not have a similar flavor profile. This is a very casual restaurant, with limited window stool seating.

Inside dining? How many tables?

yes, one long table with 4 seats

Is this place halal?

No.

Hi what type of oil do you fry in?

Hello, We fry our food with Canola Oil.…

What time does this place close?

Hello, Our Pasadena Location operating hours are everyday from 11AM to 10PM.…

Which type of meat is being used for the chicken sandwich, white or dark?

I believe you can choose on the menu options, you can through 3rd patty delivery apps. The standard sandwhich and strips seem to be white (based on past consumption.) if you keep scrolling down there's option for "dark meat" versions on the main…

Do they use MSG?

Yes, they do. The breading has a sugar + MSG taste.

Are you guys open today?

Yes.

I drove over 40 miles to this location just to see that they're not even open yet. It would be nice if they posted an opening date on Yelp or their website so ppl like myself don't make this unnecessary drive. Any dates?

Completely understand your concerns! I was in OC and didn't want to drive up until it for sure opened. I even kept commenting on Instagram for a date lol. But happy to say they're finally open in Pasadena since this week!!

Fair prices, large portion sizes, and fresh tasty food. Seating: both indoor and outdoor Parking: small parking lot outside, free Takeout: available, many people were picking up phone orders Here's what we ordered: Pollo Saltado: Tender boneless chicken breast fit perfectly with the stir fry. The rice was accented perfectly with the flavorful broth. Chicken combo: The chicken skin had a nice crunch, while the meat was juicy and tender. I chose rice and fried plantains for sides. The plantains were golden brown, with a rich flavor.

It had huge chunks of meat and was more than enough to fill all 3 of us up. My son and nephew ate the rotisserie chicken. This was also good, but not as good as the Lomo Saltado. Anyway, we'll definitely be going back here. They even offer free small bottles of water and free coffee, and they didn't hesitate to give us as much dipping sauces as we needed. This is definitely a must place to go if you're looking for excellent food with kind service.

Some restaurants try to impress you with elaborate menus and fancy interiors. Rotisserie Chicken of…read moreCalifornia takes a much simpler approach: make really good chicken, treat people well, and let the food do the talking. This is a small, unassuming mom-and-pop establishment that you could easily drive past without realizing it's there. And frankly, that would be your loss. I stopped in for lunch and ordered the quarter chicken with dark meat and rice. The chicken was beautifully done, with perfectly golden skin and juicy meat underneath. It's a simple dish, but there's a noticeable difference between chicken that's merely cooked and chicken that's cooked well. They clearly know what they're doing here. The rice deserves some recognition, too. Flavorful, satisfying, and a worthy companion to the chicken rather than an obligatory side dish. What impressed me almost as much as the food was the value. Finding a genuinely good lunch at a reasonable price feels increasingly rare these days, but this place manages it without compromising quality. The service was excellent as well. There's nothing particularly fancy about the space, nor does there need to be. Its character comes from the people running it and the quality of what they're serving. Rotisserie Chicken of California knows its specialty, sticks to it, and executes it exceptionally well. Sometimes that's all a restaurant needs to get five stars from me.

How dare anyone give this place less than 5 stars!…read more Don't @ me, everyone is entitled to their experiences, which are clearly not all great. Anyhoo... Having just moved to Pasadena from San Francisco, I have been exploring the food scene all-around. These kinds of places are a dying breed everywhere as gentrification and conglomerates take over more and more of the food landscape. Why you should patronize this place: locally owned, family run, great food, and hella cheap. The owner (I think he's the owner) was so friendly and knew the orders of many of the locals who came in while I was eating. The front person was great as well. I ordered the 1/4 dark with fries and it was great. Chicken was juicy and the shoestring fries crisped up just right. This is on my go-to list and it should be on yours.

Never had this type of fast-casual meditteranian but it was sooo good. I think this meal is pretty healthy too (from what they say), macro friendly, so no need to worry about being fat. FOOD: Price: Pretty average slightly more expensive ~$15 - $20 per dish Quarter Plate (Dark Meat) - $18.5 (10/10) The first thought was that the dish looked small, with 2 drums and a variety of sides. But! I was actually very full by the end and didnt even finish. I personally LOVE how many different sides are included, so you can make a mini sandwich with the pita for every bite. Every part of this dish was amazing, from the tender drums to the picked vegetables and really good hummus. The wedge of lettuce was actually really good, well seasoned with dressing, and very crunchy. This is such a satisfying meal tbh and the sauces were amazing too. Schmatyzy Potatoes - $7.75 (10/10) These were the best potatoes Ive ever tried holy moly. The potatoes were smashed but inside was so soft and outside was crunchy. BUT what makes the potatoes SOOO good is the GARLIC SAUCE it comes with. IDK HOW THEY MAKE IT but it was AMAZING. This is a MUst get. Fennel Tzatziki Side - $5.75 (10/10) Im a whore for tzatziki and this tzaziki was very well made. Long strips of cucumber, but the texture was great for pairing with the potatoes and the plate. Some tzatzikis from other restaraunts can be questionable but this is a 10/19 tzatziki. Hibiscus Cooler - $5 (0/10) Ts was not good lol VIBES: AMAZING service. The people in the front are ALWAYS so friendly. I came here twice and this kind black gentleman helped me out with PURE JOY. Oh I wish I loved my job as much as he does. He made this experience very fun though, he came up with our table with a TADAAA!! The parking here can be rough tho, no lot and only street parking. The lot is a bit away i tink but its not tooo bad. The restaurant was pretty empty during lunch time, so no wait and food came out quick too.
