The lady who did my nails cut the sides of my nails out beyond what is reasonable and caused me so much pain during and after my pedicure. Haven't been here in quite a few months and was long overdue. Couldn't believe they were able to get us as walk-ins, but it was early. They are typically packed with a bit of a wait or by appointment. We went the o ly ones to walk in and ask, "Are you open?" As a few, other customers walked in after us. The prices have increased, and they do charge a lot more for gel than places say in lemon grove, but my husband prefers convenience on weekends. We ended up getting pedicures, and they do offer 5 different types of pedicures. The gel did last months. The chairs are comfy, they have 80s music in the background, and it is fairly relaxing to come here. Give them a shot. read more

The vibe like all salons is what you make it. At times it's a very tense place making you feel that everyone is being watched upon on how they perform. For the past few visits I have been disappointed. Maile has been trying to upsell my regular gel manicure to what she called a xl or double coat or "we add this color on the bottom so it looks better" then the next time oh you have xl what ever that means. Then my cost goes from $34 to $40 plus. It so disappointing because I love to support local businesses but not when I am being taken advantage. Today I received regular gel manicure and I think it will be the last time I go to Mailes. Don't get me wrong love the color manicure is great, I just don't feel like supporting a businesses that tries to increase cost with out letting you know first. Also maile never massages my hands. This place sucks. I got ripped off by them. I called earlier this morning to see if they could take an appointment for a regular acrylic fill. They told me it would be $17. One of my nails was broken, so it was a given that that was going to cost more. When I came for my appointment, I asked how much it would be for my broken nail. They said $2. So I assumed I would be paying $19, plus a tip. While I was getting my nails filed, the lady doing my nails said "oh you have a fungus, let me fix that for you" and I didn't think anything of it. When it was my turn to pay, they said I owed $22. I said that wasn't the price I was quoted and asked why it was so high and they said "your fungus and filing of your nails cost extra" and then I asked why they didn't tell me that. They apologized but then said it was still going to be $22. I was so taken aback that I didn't know what to do. Frankly I should have gotten up and left but I didn't want to leave without my nails being fixed so I paid them and didn't tip. $22 is still pretty affordable but I'm upset that they weren't up front with the extra cost to begin with. They just snuck it in there and expected me not to notice. They can say it was a miscommunication but I'm pretty sure they intentionally kept that from me to rip me off. These women will cheat you for your money. Stay away. The only plus side is that my nails look good. But besides that, you don't rip someone off and expect them not to say anything. Fuck this place.
