Wow... This was my first time at Luxe & Leaf Aesthetics and I'm blown away. Adelina greeted me with the warmest smile and made me feel comfortable right away. She's professional, knowledgeable, and so gentle with her touch. The glow she brought out in my skin honestly took years off my face. I usually stick to what I know and don't try new places, but after this experience? I'm officially hooked. If you're even thinking about booking; do it. You'll thank yourself later! read more

I can't say enough amazing things about Luxe and Leaf Aesthetics.I always have such a wonderful experience getting a facial and/or lash lift. From the moment I walk in, the atmosphere feels serene and welcoming--soft music, calming scents, and a clean, beautiful space that instantly put me at ease. Adelina is incredibly gentle, caring, and knowledgeable -- every visit feels like a relaxing escape. I always look forward to my next appointment! I also get my lash lifts at Luxe and Leaf. My lashes look longer, and perfectly curled from the root, almost like I was wearing mascara--but completely natural. The lift instantly made my eyes look brighter and more open, and I honestly didn't realize how much of a difference it could make until I saw the results. My husband recently had his skin tags removed at Luxe and Leaf. It was an easy and simple process. It's been a couple of weeks since the removal, and the results are great. The areas healed quickly with minimal redness, and he's happy to not have to deal with the irritation that the skin tags were causing before. He has a huge boost of confidence to have them gone. All treatments were amazing, and I'll definitely be making this part of my regular self-care routine. I'm thankful to have Adelina in my life. read more

My facial experience exceeded my expectations in every way. From the warm and inviting environment, to the tranquil sounds and soothing touch. Adelina is so knowledgeable and attentive. She gave me a customized treatment that was tailored to my skin's needs. I left with noticeably brighter, firmer and hydrated skin and felt completely relaxed and ready to "face" the world. This was by far one of the best facials I've ever had. Truly an excellent experience from start to finish. Adelina comes highly recommended! Here's another star because she honestly deserves 6. read more

Since High-school (7 years ago) I struggled with having an acne face. I tried reaching out to many skin care professionals and taking medications to help clear up my skin. However... nobody ever got my face clear as Adelina's. She knows her SHIT !! She took her time to teach me everything I need to know about skincare. I wish I met her 7 years ago. Honesty, I wanted to cry seeing how much my acne cleared up within months of seeing her! Her products really work and worth the money. I'm super grateful that I ran into her page. I feel so much more confident going out and even when I put on makeup, my face is super smooth and doesn't look bumpy. I can't wait for more session and be finally acne free !!! read more

My daughter was coming of age at 13 years old and sadly, started to develop acne which in turn, began to negatively effect her self confidence and self esteem. As a mother, it was difficult to watch and worse, that I couldn't make it go away. I was prone to acne as a teenager as well so I believed that w the knowledge I had, I could fix it. "I got this" mentality. I bought the most expensive products, I took her in for facials, and we met w several aestheticians in San Diego - nothing was helping her. I met Adelina right when summer started. She took a look at my daughter's face and boldly proclaimed: I will clear that up before she returns to school. (8th grade). Not only is Adelina confident in her skills, she truly, and I mean genuinely has the heart of a person who wanted the best for my daughter. She treated my daughter like her own by uplifting her and encouraging her to hang in there in the process and praised her when she'd see her and the amazing results that were happening from using her products. She wouldn't let up or give up on her. She treated my daughter like a patient who wanted them to get better - inside and out! She spoke to my daughter on her level so my daughter truly listened and respected her. Adelina has many clients she sees - from micro blading to waxing to acne control - but w young ladies who are struggling w facial problems, which can lead to internal struggles, I believe that this is a niche that she truly shines in because it comes from the heart. I cannot lie when I say I was a bit skeptical, but the proof is in the pudding. Result: My daughter's skin cleared up and as promised, before school started!!Naturally, my daughter's happy confidence returned shortly thereafter. Adelina is no joke. I'm SO grateful for her and what she's done for my little girl!! I just can't thank her enough. read more

I am in my 20s and I got my first ever facial (VSS Signature Facial) with Adelina. It was the best decision ever!! She is very welcoming, positive and knowledgeable. You can tell that she loves what she does and that she cares a lot about her clients. The first few minutes of my appointment were to listen to my skin concerns and to learn more about my routine. From there, she customized a facial that best fit my skin's needs. I left her studio with glowing skin!!! My skin never felt so hydrated. I also bought her cleanser, serum, moisturizer and sunscreen- my sensitive skin hasn't had a single problem! I am excited for my next facial at VSS :) P.S. my mom also got a facial with her and she loved it! If you're looking to get pampered, book an appointment!! read more

I want to start by saying Adelina is so professional and inspiring. She makes you feel so comfortable and her place is so beautiful and clean. I moved to San Diego this year and as someone who has a tone of acne. An esthetician was the first thing I looked for. Been coming to her every since. She's cleared my acne and I just started with micro needling. It's been a week and my skin is glowing. Will always come back !! read more

She is amazing!! Her comforting personality makes it feel like you've known her for years and you can literally talk to her about anything. She is truly a professional at what she does and treats every client as a friend. I suffered from really bad acne and she was the first one to clear my skin and also be super gentle with my skin as well. Everyone else before her just didn't know how to help my skin. She tells you everything you should expect before hand and makes everything so easy! She cleared my skin up in only a couple months and i couldn't be more grateful! If i could recommend anyone, it would be here. Beyond grateful for the work she has done for me! -Jayden read more

Here's the thing, I used to go to "Deepa the Brow Queen"when I used to live in the Bay 5 years ago. When I heard from one of my besties that she all of sudden wasn't as available as she used to be and her wait times got ridiculous... My bestie decided to find someone new. With this said, she then referred me to Adelina, and I couldn't be happier! Adelina is my true go-to person for all my skin care needs included eyebrow waxing (soon to be semi-permanent make up, hopefully!) ;) I first met Adelina back in August 2015, where she did my brows for my wedding!!! From that original visit alone, we got along so well and had chill, funny conversations, needless to say- she made me feel very comfortable for all my waxing needs ;) Booking with Adelina is super easy. If you follow her website from her Yelp page, there is a section that states appointments and boom, you select the time and day that works for you along with the service you would like. She also tries to work with your schedule is there isn't a time that works. Wait no more, book your next service with Adelina, you are going to love her!!! read more

Okay so this review is looooong overdue because Adelina it THE absolute best with eyelash extensions. I had previously gotten my lashes done with someone else and they came out horribly so I was nervous to get them done again but I came to Adelina and she brought my lashes back to LIFE. My lashes come out amazing every time and I always get soooo many compliments even weeks after getting them. She is very professional, knowledgeable, and so nice! Better than my teenage years lol. She is so sweet, diligent, thoughtful, and goes out of her way to make you feel super special. Please try her Signature Facial. You will be so glad you did. I've been wanting to write a review for Adelina since my first visit! She is hands down the best esthetician I've ever met. She is extremely knowledgeable and honest. She has completely transformed my skin! I have struggled with acne for years and have visited numerous dermatologists, taken different medications, tried any home remedy I could find and my acne would always come back worse. I was hopeless and ready to go on Accutane but luckily I was recommended to Adelina just in time! After the first week of Adelina's acne program I could already see a difference and my skin just keeps getting better now months after! She goes above and beyond for her clients and you can tell that she loves what she does. Worth every penny, thank you Adelina!!! read more

I described what I wanted: long, thick eyebrows w/ a high arch. When she was done: I was pleased. It was very nicely shaped, a little more round that I wanted, but I didn't make that clear when she asked if I wanted angled or curved shaped. A bit later, I realized that my eyebrows are wayy too thin for my liking, especially after growing them out since february! I'm really disappointed at that, because the journey begins again to get that nice natural thickness of my eyebrows. Why don't waxers go thicker than thinner to be safe (it is the more natural look)? It's like asking someone to cut off 2 inches of your hair and they cut off 5! Good arch, too thin, kept length (which is what most ppl don't know how to do). very clean, but I feel a bit bald. read more

Heard Bout Adelina through coworkers and decided it was time to make that call. Honestly I tried Everything and I mean everything: prescriptions ointments, diets, birth control, over priced acne programs... ect. and nothing really helped. Until I visited Adelina. She is very knowledgeable about her program and how it would help turn my skin around. Skeptic? Of course who wouldn't be. But I'm very happy I did follow through. Saw her in beginning of February and started the program that night. Began to see amazing results with in the following days. She is an amazing esthetician that does wonders for the skin. She is very sweet and kind. Listens to all my questions and texts. Best ever!! I have hormonal acne and yea I get occasional break here and there but now they disappear within a couple days. I never thought that any program would be able to take away my acne like this. Soo freaking happy with my results can't wait for everything to be cleared. I'm so happy with my lashes, I had to update my review. I've been going to Velvet Skin Studio for over a year now and I'll continue to be a regular customer. Adelina is AMAZING! I cannot be without my lashes! I also get facials when I can. VSS facials are absolutely divine and a unique experience. Adelina pampers you like no one else. Check out her Instagram and you'll see she's the premiere skin pro in CV. VSS is a must for my family! My mom, aunt, sister-in-law, and even my brother are all huge fans of Adelina. I used to go to this Vietnamese lady in Cupertino that brags that she is the best at brow shaping and waxing, but she charged $20 and always hurt me when she tweezed that I would bleed and have little scabs! Then I went to another Vietnamese place in Milpitas that did an okay job, charged $10 but never asked how I wanted my brows and hardly spoke English! After reading reviews on Yelp, I called Adelina and left a message. A couple hours later, she personally called me back herself to set up an appt. with her the next day! So I drove there having a bit of trouble finding it because it was in a little plaza area and the address had a "Tanning" sign above it. So I went in 15 mins. before my scheduled time and she took me in right away since her 1pm didn't show up. The room was nicely decorated with soothing music playing in the background and made me feel relaxed! She asked how I wanted them done and she had me sit up in a chair which was different from what I was used to. She chatted me up the whole time and after she was done, she gave me a mirror to make sure it was to my liking. I noticed one was thicker than the other, so she corrected it. She asked me if I was happy with them...Afterwards, she then put concealer to hide the redness and then filled them in to tint them. I asked what she used and she showed it to me, told me about it, recommended a color that would look best...I went to the mall and bought it right after I left! She charged $15 for the brows but I gave her $20 because my first time with her deserved a tip like that! I was pleased with her work! And let me tell you what surprised me....not only did she take the time to get to know me and make me feel comfortable, she was nice and friendly from the first time she called me back wishing me to "enjoy the rest of my day" shook my hand at the door when I arrived, and when I left there, she told me to enjoy my weekend and actually HUGGED me goodbye! like my friends do! Some people are uncomfortable with that, but I guess it's more of a girly thing! She's very polite! She listened to what I wanted and gave me the arch that I asked for! It looks even better than before when I used to get them done for $20 but with less pain and no bleeding! read more

I tried to find someone for a last minute appointment and Adelina was able to fit me into her schedule. She had me text her to confirm the appointment, which I thought was awesome. I hate having to leave messages and wait for a call back, so I'm glad that she prefers to have clients text her. I passed her place when I was driving by, because it looks like it's an office building and there isn't a HUGE sign out front (there is a small sign). Adelina was friendly and fast. I had a wonderful experience and I look forward to my next visit with her. Also her prices are very reasonable! I highly recommend her for all your waxing needs. :) read more

This review is LONG overdue (Sorry Adelina!). I brought in my 16 year old daughter to help her get her skin care improved since I found myself buying all kinds of over-the-counter or online skins care products. She had the occasional breakouts on her forehead and cheek areas. Over time and now 7 months later her skin has had great improvement. She even practices her regular skin regimen and factors in the cleanliness of her sheets and pillow cases. Adeline also has been responsive to texts and requests to send or drop off products my daughter has run out of. Due to the COVID pandemic she still answers her texts regarding skin care concerns. She is excellent and knows about skin care. I highly recommend her! read more

I have a sensitive skin and I'm very picky when it comes to facial treatments and providers. I found VSS after researching around my area and I'm glad I went. Adelina is excellent in her craft. She talks to you not only about the treatment but your lifestyle as well so she can make recommendations on how to keep your skin healthy. She's very friendly and her spa has a home-y and relaxing vibe to it. I'll be back for future treatments and I definitely recommend her services. Thank you, Adelina! read more

This woman is a miracle worker!!! I came to her after exhausting all my options ( Rentin A / proactive/ Derms/ top rated skin kits)...she laid out a skin program and facial schedule and I was scared at first because the program included getting rid of Retin A....BUT I kid you not if you follow this program your skin will look and feel AMAZING!!! I have been going here for 1.5 years now and I don't even break out on my period anymore lol!!!! Would recommend this place 1000% and a million times over read more

I can't say enough good things about Adelina, she's a true miracle worker. I was very hesitant on coming to her only because I've tried literally EVERYTHING from topicals, medications, serums and Accutane (which would clear my acne for a little bit then come back). I can't tell you how much money I've invested into my skin in hopes of having clear skin, but I gave Adelina a try and my skin has made a complete transformation! I did her acne program and yes it is a bit of an investment but trust me when I say she is the BEST and as a fellow esthetician she really knows her stuff. I first saw her back in January/February and have been consistent with my appointments and regimen. It's on you to take care of your skin and follow clear instructions she gives you. I'm so happy to say I'm acne free this is the longest I've ever seen my skin be this clear! I'm physically and mentally happy now and it's all because of Adelina. I was very insecure about my skin and she helped me through it, so if you're struggling I promise you won't regret it just do as she says! Thank you Adelina read more

After seeing so many great reviews on Yelp, I decided to take the leap and try Velvet Skin Studio. Adelina is so attentive, professional, and super friendly that she made me feel comfortable on my first visit. I got a waxing service, which didn't take too long. She gave me a few tips on how to take care of my skin. Another thing that I noticed is that she takes the time to talk to her clients. You don't feel rushed to leave. Her place is very well kept, clean, and comfortable. I definitely recommend Adelina! Check out her other services aside from waxing. read more

I wanted to wait a week before writing a review but I am so happy I booked with Adelina!! When I first arrived at the studio, I was very thrown off because it is in a residential area. She works out of her house and at first I was afraid I was going to be going up to some random persons house. She called right away and confirmed that she saw me outside and I was at the right spot! I went to her for my very first Brazilian wax! She made me feel very comfortable and gave me the low down on what she was going to do. She explained that she uses a mix between hard wax and strips. She had me talking the whole time to keep me occupied which helped! She was super friendly and easy to talk to! She was done fairly quickly (thank god because it hurts lol) and she went over any concerns and questions I had. I will be going back to Adelina and am planning on booking a facial with her soon! Where do I even begin, Adelina did wonders to my skin not even being dramatic, this girl did a 360 on my acne prone skin! I started her acne clearing program sometime in April of 2019 and have been coming to her ever since. I had severe acne and was completely over having horrible skin, Adelina was able to get me clear in a matter of 4 months, my skin looks the best it's ever had! I come to her for everything regarding my skin now, makeup, skin care products, what to use- what not to use/do. She's my holy grail! She's informed me on how to properly take care of my skin, introducing me to a strong skin care regime. After her facials my skin looks and feels amazing! Thank you for everything girl!! read more

I hate to be the one who bursts the 5-star bubble, but here goes... First, I'll start off with all the wonderful things about Velvet Skin Studio and Adelina. She's super friendly and very accommodating with her schedule. I called and was able to get a next-day appointment! Waxing is virtually pain-free and you won't be left with redness or bumps. Adelina is also pretty thorough and will re-check to make sure that she catches any strays. There were just a few minor things that slightly irked me - 1. The lighting in the treatment room wasn't adequate and it took several "re-checks" to capture the strays. In fact, I noticed a few more after I returned home. 2. As a new client, I was hoping to get the "April Special" of a complimentary brow shape with my Brazilian, but never received it. 3. I was charged $45 for my session (which is a great price!) but when I handed over $60 in cash, I never received any change back... only a wave and "Thanks for coming!" It really would have been nice to let me decide how much tip to leave, instead of assuming that it should automatically be 33%. Don't get me wrong, I definitely believe that Adelina is worth the $60 and more.... I hope that this may have just been an oversight or something. read more

I live in San Francisco. But I am more than willing to drive down for Adelina. She is fantastic. Not only is she easy going but she is friendly and caring. I went here for my first Brazilian Wax. Let me tell you, I did all my research on Yelp and found that she had PERFECT reviews. Alot of the other yelpers seem to be first timers too which eased my mind that she was really good at what she does. I made an appointment with her (she only works FRI-SUN) and it was easy to get a time that I wanted. She is a SF native as well, so we had much to talk about. Which was great because it took my mind off what was going on down there. She does a thorough job. Down to the last hair!!! Very fast, very easy, very convenient, and very very nice!!! I highly recommend her and will definitely become a regular client. *Note: She only takes CASH or CHECKS. P.S. I now love Brazilian. read more

Thank you all for the recommendation. Adelina is Velvet Skin Studio and her business was located in the back portion of Millenium Salon. The outside of the building looked a little dated, but the inside of the facility was very clean and well maintained. Adelina was the utmost professional and extremely wonderful aesthetician for my first wax visit. She kept a conversation going to help me forget the most challenging moments of my visit. Her waxing technique was to leave as little pain as possible and no evidence of hair . She thoroughly described the process every rip of the way and made me feel very comfortable. I was grateful for that. Credit cards accepted and best to make an appointment. Plenty of street parking. My wax treatment wasn't painless, but it wasn't painful either. I left happy with the results and my voice an octave higher. read more

I came to velvet skin studio for my first Brazilian wax back in 2009-2010. Her studio was difficult to find and like what most yelpers have said, parking is tough. I would advise going early! Her studio is very cute and clean, i really like the whole set-up. So moving to the waxing..since it was my first time, I didn't know what to expect. She did a good job, talking me to get my mind off the pain, and making me feel very comfortable. She also used hot wax on me at the time, hard wax is so much better. So far I've gone to her twice, and each process was pretty fast. Although the second time she did a horrible job, leaving a lot of hairs behind, I didn't realize until i got home.. After my two experiences with her, I decided to venture out and try other places and they we're so much better. Experience, pricing, and location wise. I'd recommend trying different places. read more

Adelina is OK at what she does as an esthetician, but as far as customer service goes, she is seriously lacking. The girl is nice... at first. Give it a few visits, and you begin to see through her act. Her sugary sweetness begins to feel super fake! And try to cancel an appt with her? Whoa whoa, who knew a business owner could be so rude?! I see other reviewers have had similar experiences when trying to cancel an appointment. What a sad discovery, especially considering I once sung her praises and referred a bunch of her current clients to her. read more

Super new update!!!! I still go to Adelina, and am more in love with her now. Everyone praises my eyebrows (yup, praises them!!), which is something I am not used to because I have always had the worst eyebrows ever. I am moving to Berkeley within a month, and I will continue to see Adelina in San Jose. Also, something to take note of: Adelina wants you to be beautiful. She called me out on my adult onset acne (so what?!?!?) and recommended a line she offers that is kick ass, and comparable in price to Clinique, which I used to use religiously. My skin is MUCH better now, and I don't have to break the bank to purchase the products. In fact, when I ran out of something and Adelina was out of it, she promptly ordered me some more AND gave me a smaller bottle to tide me over until the shipment was in. What's the lesson here? You don't have to be rich to enjoy rock star treatment. I have seen Adelina as a bartender (kinda broke), a social worker (broke) and a student (super broke). Go see her now!! Initial review: Baby smooth skin...oh yeah. I thought this was only achievable by whipping out your razor and assuming positions in your shower that would make a Japanese porn star blush. I thought that getting rid of the hairy Italian upper lip would require $19.95 plus shipping and handling--ordering the device only because I was up late at night watching infomercials, stoned out of my tree. (Simpson's sidebar: It's Krusterific, Johnny Unitas--but is my lip supposed to bleed like this?) And my eyebrows...well, I was scared to get them done after the last lady shaved my eyebrows. Yup, shaved my eyebrows, just like I was in high school at Mount Pleasant. (Don't look at me like that, Mount Pleasant alum--you know what you did!) Then I found Adelina. I'll admit, preparation for the waxing was a bit nerve wracking. I don't have naked problems, but I did have fears about pain, if she would notice that I haven't shaved my legs in a week (I was planning on shaving them after--going for the trifecta of smooth). Turns out, it was almost pain free. Inexpensive as well---$60 for first time, then $45 for maintenance. My eyebrows are looking fantastic, too. I no longer have the impulse to pluck. They should be all grown out by my wedding day, thanks to Adelina. I know you all were wondering about that. I'd recommend Adelina to anyone. She's awesome, and it's almost like going to therapy at the same time. She is a great listener. **Edit** 9/26/07 I totally forgot to tell you guys that Adelina does awesome facials. Totally marvelous, even for someone who fears the steam machine as much as I. read more

Adelina did my brows for the first time last week. I have crazy allergies and freakishly sensitive skin so can't be waxed, so she agreed to tweeze. Wow, my brows look really good. Good enough to go back, _and_ to overlook that uncomfortable stool. Thanks, yelp, for helping me find this place... Editing my original review for a 2010 update. In the 3 years I've been seeing Adelina, the Bad Stool has vanished, Velvet Skin Studio has moved, and Adelina's become a friend. She's still doing a great job on my brows, and I've recently made the jump to facials. I have crazy sensitive skin with undiagnosed chemical allergies that can leave me with pretty dramatic reactions, and Adelina is VERY good with sensitive skin. Still very happy with every visit to VSS. Extra big ups for her appointment confirmations via text. read more

Adelina is a god send. I went in recently for an eyebrow shaping and I have to say, she gave me the BEST EYEBROWS OF MY LIFE.. and that's probably an understatement. I am a professional make-up artist, so I understand how important a good brow is to balance your face. I wanted a brow that had a nice medium arch, while keeping full so I don't have to fill them in.. basically, I wanted to be able to walk out of my home with a beautiful, natural brow that complimented my face. I know, I was asking for a lot.. Adelina delivered 10-fold. Most brow places take 10mins max, quick wax there, some tweezing, and you're done. Nope, not Adelina. She took her time to make sure my brows were purrrrrrfect. Its been nearly a month and I'm still getting compliments on my brows (esp. from other beauty professionals -- its amazing). I don't know why it took me so long to go to her for eyebrows but I definitely won't be making that mistake again -- You shouldn't either. read more

Man oh man, I really like Adelina and frequented her for the better part of a year, but I've found a new place. She's METICULOUSLY clean, using good products, latex gloves, never double dipping, etc. I also really really liked the convenience of texting for appointments. She's really good at getting back to you that way. On the down side, her office has difficult parking at best, I was charged different amounts at each appointment for about 6 months, and since returning from maternity leave her hours are really low and odd. Being a mom myself, I can certainly understand the desire to spend as much time as possible with your new baby, but being available a couple of hours a few evenings a week almost begs to have customers shop around. :o( Sorry, Adelina. I wish her all the best. read more

After reading rave review after rave review about Adelina, I just had to give her a try. I have been putting up with getting sub par treatments for so long, I was eager and ready for the real deal. From burns, to chaffing, to lots of missed stray hairs--while paying between $45 to $65--I needed to find a new wax lady fast. Getting an initial appt was tricky. She never answers her phone so I finally left her a voice mail. I got a call back 4 or 5 days later. That's too long in my opinion but I really wanted to try her out so I persisted. After several emails and text messages later, I finally secured a Saturday appt. This is the hardest I've had to work ever to get an appt for anything! I figured, once I get my initial appt, the next ones will be hassle free since I'll be making my appt on the spot after my treatment. The great reviews about Adelina were true! She is fantastic. Wonderful personality. Professional. Clean. Quick. I didn't check to make sure she didn't double dip though. That was my own bad. I was so into our conversation that it didn't really occur to me at the time. I had a brazilian wax done (everything off) and she charged me $60 for the first time. If you come back within 3-4 weeks, she'll charge you $45. She's moving to her own salon in May so check her website for the new address. I was completely satisfied with her work. She was pretty thorough although there were a few stray hairs but she was cool about letting me double check. And when I found a few, she apologized and got them all. I'm happy to say I have finally found My Wax Lady. I will recommend her to anyone who needs a good wax job. read more

Just a little update... I went in today for a Customized Facial. Holy relaxation. Did YOU know that facials come with a foot massage AND a hand massage IN ADDITION to the scalp, neck and shoulder massage??? I had no idea, but, they do that here. AND I had no idea that a hot towel pressed gently on my decolletage while my face was being carefully purified could make me feel so comfy, warm and relaxed. I WAS a bit anxious about having someone so close to my face. I mean. They're looking for what needs to be fixed, right? And I do have pretty sensitive skin, what if I totally have some crazy allergic reaction...?? (I'm a head case.) My insane worries melted away immediately. I gave the complete run down on my skin, medications, problem areas, products used, etc, etc on a little form they have you fill out before you even get in the room. So once your head hits the pillow, it's all about getting pampered. And Sarah, the latest addition to Velvet, is a doll. I mean so, SO sweet and really good! So. Seriously. Do yourself a favor and spring for a facial with Sarah. (Or better yet, get a gift certificate for your mom!) read more

If you are planning on getting your first brazilian wax, I recommend this place. Adelina's studio is located in a cute little beauty parlor near Willow Glen. She keeps her room very clean, with fresh sheets and supplies for every customer that walks in. Waxing experience: Definitely not as bad as you would imagine. You get professional and quality treatment from Adelina. It doesn't hurt, she's extremely safe and sanitary, and you don't feel awkward. She does a very thorough and efficient job. The prices she charges are VERY good, especially for a brazilian. I've recommended her to a handful of friends and they would all have to agree she does an awesome job! read more

Adelina impressed me with her professional attitude and excellent timeliness. She is fast but thorough! I made an appointment by text message yesterday and she got back to me within five minutes and set me up with a 9am appointment for today. We were both running a little late due to traffic, but she was able to get me all done before her 9:30! This was my first time going in for a professional wax and I was especially nervous as it was for a brazilian. She was totally professional though and I didn't feel at all awkward with her waxing my cooter. She carefully explained each step of the process, but made sure not to let me know when the big rips came up. While it did hurt a bit, it was as painless as it could have possibly been. She was good about putting pressure and soothing gel on the skin and the pain was gone before I walked out the door. The price is FANTASTIC, too. I'd been hesitant to go for a wax because I'd seen it for over $100 or the place didn't seem reputable. At Velvet Skin, the first brazilian is $60 and the maintenence waxes are only $45. Adelina is truly the best of both worlds. read more
