I really appreciate this post office. They've been transparent with me in terms of their pricing and because I run an e-commerce business, their system of collecting packages really works for me. I get to drop off my packages and get back to work immediately. Over 600 packages have gone through their store and whether I see Mail N Ship scan my packages or not, I haven't gotten a single customer complaint about shipping (a huge factor in my review). There was two older ladies behind the counter (maybe owners?) in a deep discussion clearly not about the mail business and they never even looked up to ask if I needed help. So I mailed a package last week and it took over 3 days to start tracking. The thing that made me so upset is that they have a huge mark up on shipping rates and it took forever for the package to actually start moving to its destination. I paid over $20 for something that was so light! And it took forever to get there. I would have been better off mailing from the post office. I think it's new owners and it's so over priced now. I personally do not care much for this location parking is awful always a Gray Truck parked where it shouldn't be. The Owner Nick appears to have to a Gossiping Problem. I've been here numerous times and this week just did it, heard the little fat guy Nick just rattling away about some gossip.The young lady that works there is always nice. The place is small and dingy looking. I use to mail out my letters here but after watching the owner retrieve some letter from the Mail Box for someone I stopped mailing out from here. Beware packing fees if you ask them to help. They aren't posted, you won't be given an estimate, and the total damn well may shock you. Went to them to ship an item because I ran out of correct box size, and figured I'd let them handle the whole thing (bubble wrap and whatnot). Told them I wanted express mail packaging and rate. Long story short, what had been a $18 express mail package when I planned it became a $51 FedEx shipment due to oversized box they selected plus $15 packing material used, primarily for foam peanuts. I told them I was unhappy at their choices, which didn't give me what I asked for and ate the entire profit of the item I was shipping,. Guy says he could have gone smaller had he known. Like really? I need to tell you ahead of time that I'm shipping a sale so you can decide whether or not to gouge me On the shipping and packing? Sorely disappointing. read more

Wonderful people! My elderly father was scammed into sending cash to a scammer who claimed my son was in trouble. My son actually came to visit my dad today and my dad was so relieved to see him but then told my son he had mailed cash this morning. My son got the receipt and called Mail N Ship and they pulled the package until my dad and grandson got there and they could verify it was my dad's wish to cancel the shipping order. They even refunded my father's $103. They then gave my son the good advice to report this to the police. Thank you!! read more

If I had to mail something to Vegas and my only option was to use this place or drive it there myself, well gas up the car then baby cuz they gets no love. Absolute horrible service by rude people. I had to purchase stamps to meet the $5 minimum for a credit card purchase, and unbeknown to me, they charged a surcharge "on everything" as I came to find out later from the staff. I got home and noticed the overcharge and made it a point to stop by and return the stamps to get a refund. The staff was so rude when I came back and promptly told me that they "were not the post office" and thus there was a surcharge, but when asked where the sign was that explains this, she was unable to produce it. I can deal with slow service and even getting my order wrong at times, but the buck stops at rude service and thus they will not be getting any more business from me. read more

I absolutely love this place . The staff is friendly , it's convenient , and you don't have to deal with the post office . In short , it is a luxury . So to whiners here that have complained about the "one dollar fee" or their rates I can only say you have no concept of how a small business stays alive . My best friend now lives in Germany so sending monthly gifts is a must. Good news is that mail n ship express is around to do all the hard stuff for me and saves so much time filling out those awful customs forms. The staff is always courteous and the place is always clean. They have any and every type of shipping box, envelope, stamp, card that you would ever need. My package always gets there faster for some reason if I go with these guys rather than the post office on the other side of town. I have never had a bad experience here. read more

We have been using this facility ever since 1993. The family that owned it a few years ago did well. They sold to Craig and he did a very good job. Then Craig unfortunately passed away. We don't know the reason, but the service it terrible now. They frequently forget to call you when you have packages waiting, so despite the fact that you may have arranged to have something shipped rush, and you've paid for that, you'll have to personally go into the facility to find out if the package has arrived. We need them to call when a package is behind the counter, so we can make arrangements to go in during business hours. This is normally done when a package is too large, or the lockers are full. Otherwise, a package can be in a locker that is accessible after hours. Their shipping/mailing fees are outrageous compared to the post office. They even charge a surcharge on stamps! And many of the services you could have done at the post office, are not available at Ship N Mail. We are now paying nearly $200 a year for having a box at ShipNMail. If it weren't for my husband's business already having this address/box# set up with his customers and mailing labels etc, we would leave and get another box somewhere else. We really miss Craig! read more

I am a current customer of Ship N Mail (2001) and love the service. I work for the US Postal Service, and I rent a box from Ship N Mail for the convenience. I did not want my letter carrier to leave a notice, so it is convenient for me to just go to ship and mail, who signs my packages. It is a convenient one stop shop for me. I feel bad for the other reviews i read for this place. It is unfortunate that certain customers do not understand a Private Business like this only makes profits by adding a smaill fee to it's products. Yes, Ship and Mail carries USPS Postal products, but they have to add a charge since we (USPS) do not pay them to sell our products. If they did not charge any fees to USPS, UPS, Fedex, how would they stay in business? The box rentals do not cover the rent of the business. Now for the credit card....credit card companies charge a transaction fee to even accept a credit card, then either 1.5-2% fee of the balance. There are many places that do that because it won't be worth for a small company to be hit with all the fees. The funny thing also, The Postal Service doesn't call to let you know you have a package. Its either at your mailbox or front door or have a note to pick it up. I go to ship and mail daily and they either leave the package in a parcel box or i have a note to pick it up at the counter. I remember when Creig was the owner, and he would bend over backwards for customers. With economic times like these, and employees making minimum wage and performing their duties, I believe they go above and beyond. Because I tell you know, I am a USPS employee, but I dread going to the Post Office. read more

I just went in to send a small package to Washington. The person came to the counter on the phone in what appeared to be a personal conversation. Could not be bothered to put the phone down. I had a question about insurance as the contents were expensive but I felt it would be to much of a bother to put down the phone. I will not ship there again. read more

We have been using mail n ship for over 10 years - consistently. They go beyond the call of duty in all instances and are always friendly. Of course pricing is going to be more than the post office - it's about convenience. At the Beacon Street post office - you will grow old waiting in their long lines & postage is inconsistent depending on which clerk you get . If you are ok with dedicating an extra 1/2 hour to save $2.OO - then sure, this place is not for you. One thing I've learned on Yelp- dive deeper into the negative reviews by reading the yelper's other reviews ... This will give you a good idea if they are just chronic & negative yelpers who like to complain & bash when given an opportunity - which just lowers yelp's credibility as an honest forum. read more

Don't let the negative reviews impact the credibility of this store! First off, it's under new ownership/management as of 2015! Any review prior to this year is irrelevant! Second, every time I have been there I have been treated with nothing less than kindness and willingness to go above and beyond for my needs! Deena is so knowledgable and helpful, I would go here any day over the post office! No thank you to the long lines and the cold shoulder when you ask for assistance. I send packages over seas which can take some time when it has to go through customs, but I have never had an issue and my package always gets there in less than two weeks!
